  • Have to prevent navigation to another stacked canvas.

    Dear all,
    I am developing an application using forms 6i with oracle 10g.i have many stacked canvas in this application.where in one particular canvas i have a button namely 'SUBMIT' in which i have a trigger when-button-pressed
    with following code.
    go_block('to_sanct');
    declare
    g char(1);
    begin
              message('value is '||:gd_ind);
         if :gd_ind is not null then
         if :gd_ind = 'Y' then
              G:='Y';
         ELSE
              G:='N';
         end if;
              MESSAGE('IN');
              MESSAGE('TRANS ID'||:c_trans);
              MESSAGE('head '||:c_head);--navigation occurs after this message.***
              MESSAGE('gd value '||G);
    Leave_application.grant_or_deny_leave(:c_trans,:c_head,G);
    COMMIT_form;
        MESSAGE('OUT');
              MESSAGE('TRANS ID'||:c_trans);
              MESSAGE('head '||:c_head);
              MESSAGE('gd value '||G);
    end if;
    if form_success then
         message('You have granted the above request');
    else
         message('failed');
    end if;
    end;That is if i click this submit button the packaged procedure should be invoked and the values passed thru the form should be committed.in order to know the values passed i have given several messages before and after invoking the package.my problem is after this message
    MESSAGE('head '||:c_head);  --navigation occurs after this message.*** navigation moves from the current canvas to another canvas.i don have any clue why its happening like this and i want to stop this navigation from current canvas to another one.all canvases in this form are stacked canvas.pls suggest me what i have to do?.

    Sorry for such a late reply Hamid.I have tried commenting all code and putting the button only with
    null; In such case navigation doesn't occur.then again i tried commenting each set code and i suspect that navigation occurs only in the presence of "COMMIT" statement.
    declare
    g char(1);

    end;Does this COMMIT statement have any impact on the navigation?.Do u have any idea Hamid.

    You have to define the number of records that you want to display - it is not dynamic so I doubt it could be done. You might be able to do something with visual attributes to make it more appealing to the eye, but you would still have empty cells displaying if there wasn't data for those records.

  • How to remove the black line from a stacked canvas at run time???

    Hi All,
    I've developed a stacked canvas within a content canvas, when I run the form the stacked canvas apeared with a black line takes it.
    How to remove this line or how to disappear this line at run time??
    I tried to do this by putting (no line) in tools palette to the line color tool after selecting the black line one and after selecting the stacked canvas another once, but this did not resolve the problem!
    I need something else:
    I put the stacked canvas at detail data block and it didn't appear since I execute query in master data block
    How to appear the stacked canvas directly before executing query in master data block???

    Hi,
    u mean the border line? In stacked canvas property, select contour/outline and set it to none.
    Make sure, the stacked canvas is behind the content canvas in the objectnavigator. Then check your
    properties of the stacked canvas:
    - Position on content canvas
    - size
    - size of clipping
    Set stacked canvas property automatic visible to yes.
    Make sure the stacked canvas is not overlayed by other stacked canvas or items.

  • Stacked Canvas Problem in oracle 6i form builder

    Hello,
    i have 2 content canvas "DTL and PUNCH",1 tab,1 horizontal canvas in window1 and 1 another content canvas "parameter" in window2.
    i have created a stacked canvas under dtl canvas because
    I have a master-details form. my details has more columns so im planing to use stack canvas.
    but at run time it is not displaying?
    please help me regarding that?
    Thanks
    With Regards
    Vishal Agrawal

    hello,
    then you should set viewport x and y position of stack canvas below the height of button in DTL block.
    means If button y position = 170 then
    viewport position of x = 5,
    viewport position of Y = (y position of button + height of button+5) . (for Stack canvas)
    Same way,
    If stack canvas height = 270 then
    viewport position of x = 5,
    viewport position of Y = (viewport position of Y of stack canvas + height of stack canvas+5) . (for Tab canvas)

  • Forms 6i, Stacked & Tabbed Canvas- Wierd behaviour

    Hi,
    I am having a wierd problem:
    Scenario:
    I have a datablock of 40 columns.
    I put 1 (say col-1 on page_1 and col-21 on page_2) column each on two different TAB pages.
    I created 2 stacked canvases: page_1_stacked & page_2_stacked
    I put col-2 to col-10 on page_1_stacked
    and col-22 to col-40 on page_2_stacked
    I used the following code to show/hide the appropriate cols/stack canvases when the users changes Tab pages:
    [when-tab-page-changed
    if (:system.tab_new_page ='PAGE_1')
         then
         show_view('PAGE_1_STACKED');
         hide_view(''PAGE_2_STACKED'');
    elsif (:system.tab_new_page ='PAGE_2')
         then
         hide_view('PAGE_1_STACKED');
         show_view(''PAGE_2_STACKED'');
    end if;
    Problem:
    Everything seems to work fine, the stacked canvases show/hide as expected, but --->as soon as I put my cursor in any column on TABBED PAGE (here col-1 or col-21), all the stacked canvases vanish
    -->if as a result of above case where I put the cursor in a tabbed-page col and canvas vanished, I navigate to the next field (which is on canvas), the canvas shows up (which is normal)....but then this canvas wont get hidden with my hide view... and end up with all stacked canvases shown together or none at all
    I have played around with all the properties and am really trapped.
    Please help!
    Thanks.

    Devang, are you aware that if you put the cursor focus in a field, Forms will ignore any show_view or hide_view commands if they cause the cursor to disappear? And if your cursor focus is in a field in a stacked view, hide_view will not work. Forms will not let you hide or cover up what ever item is identified by :System.Cursor_Item.
    I do not know why you need Col_1 or col_21 on the tab canvas. Put them on your stacked canvasses, too.
    Use a when-new-item-instance block-level trigger to determine which tab page should be displayed. If :System.trigger_item = col_1 through col_20, make sure Page_1 is displayed, and for col_21 through col_40, make sure Page_2 is displayed.
    Similarly, use a when-tab-page-changed trigger to move the cursor to the correct canvas. You wouldn't even need to use show_view or hide_view, Forms will do that for you each time you move into an item on either canvas.
    And why are you using two canvases anyway? Since you are using a horizontal scrollbar, why not put them all on a single canvas? (And then you wouldn't need the tab pages.)

  • Show stacked canvas when form is opened

    Hi,
    I'm working with forms 6i. My form has one multi-record block. Due to the amount of fields that need to be shown we split the block across 2 canvases, the first fields are shown in the primary canvas and next to it is something like an overflow, a stacked scrollable canvas.
    The form is opened in query mode. In the beginning we only see the items on the primary canvas. Only after the user has executed his query and navigates (with tab) to the first item on the stacked canvas this one is shown. From that moment on the stacked canvas stays visible.
    I want to change this behavior as such that the stacked canvas is visible all the time.
    I tried to solve this using show_view in the when-new-form-instance trigger but the result is not what it should be. The view is shown but not in the same way as you would see it when you properly navigate to it. The alignment is totally out of control.
    Any ideas, suggestions, are mostly appreciated.
    Kris

    Steve,
    To maybe make things a bit more strange then they're already.
      GO_ITEM('DEELNEMERS.DROOMPLOEG'); -- Item in stacked canvas
      SYNCHRONIZE;
      PAUSE;
      GO_ITEM('DEELNEMERS.CODE'); -- First item (on primary canvas)It works with above code but not without the pause.
    I'm really confused here :-),

  • Stacked Canvas question in Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.3.0 (Production)

    Hi Friends, I am not sure if my explanation will suffice for resolution to this easy problem that is causing me so much grief.
    I have a form with one content canvas ROOT_CNV, One tab canvas TAB_CNV with two tab pages and One STACK Canvas Stack_CNV.
    All these canvases are on one Window ROOT_WINDOW.
    The tab canvas (TAB_CNV) is tabular in nature.
    There is a menu button that you can press that switches one record in the tab canvas and place this record in the stack_cnv. All the fields on the stack_cnv are mirror_image of the Tab canvas record that is the items are synchronised.
    NOW THE PROBLEM. When you press the switch button and you are in the stack canvas and you try to query any record, the form will take you back to the tab canvas and the fields will freezes, there are lots of forms here with this functionality that woks, but I cannot figure out while this particular one is behaving lke this.
    I have made the Stack canvas smaller, however, the issue is till the same, I think it has to do with the stacking order and I had already rearrange this to know avail, any suggestion will be appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Tab canvas
    Page 1        Page 2
    *===== ========*
    record     proj              sub         Status
    *1 A 1 ACTIVE*
    *2 B 1 PENDING*
    *3 C 1 ACTIVE*
    *4 C 2 ACTIVE*
    Click on the Menu Icon on record 1, then the stack canvas shows up (Stack_CNV) in a form Format
    **STACK_CNV* Page1 Page2*
    *===== =======*
    Prog:       A                Sub  : 1
    Status :   ACTIVE
    The tab pages still shows up on the stack canvas which is okay, however, when you try to query from the stack canvas, it takes you back to the tab canvas and everything freezes. Both canvas are on Root_cnv content canvas.

    Hi Ade2
    Pls Create a KEY-ENTQRY trigger at the form level add the following code :
    GO_BLOCK('dept');
    CLEAR_BLOCK(no_commit);
    ENTER_QUERY;Hope this helps...

  • Tab-Canvas and Stacked-Canvas (Forms 5.0)

    Is it possible to design a tab canvas that contains stacked-canvas? I can't create it!

    Yes - it is possible to design a tab canvas that contains stacked-canvas. Create a separate canvas with its own block and you can call go_block and the canvas/block will show. You can also call show_view but the canvas you call must be of the type stacked. (aside - a tab canvas seems to automatically act like a stacked canvas). I have used a canvas w/block that sits at the top of the screen by setting it to be only 60 points tall (and it is the first block in the list) then in a when-new-form-instance trigger I call show_view('tab canvas name') and have its viewport begin at 60, therefore the tab canvas fits right under the header canvas. You can then leave this to call other canvases/blocks and return and set up the same situation again. Sometimes I have gotten strange results where no matter what I do it will not show the tab canvas - at this point usually you recreate what won't show and it will then work.
    good luck.

  • Stacked canvas from Oracle designer 10g

    Hi,
    I want to create a stacked canvas using designer 10g, how can I do it?
    thanks.
    Hichem

    Since you ask this question inside the Oracle Designer Headstart forum, you have Oracle Headstart. Inside Oracle Headstart there is a demo application you can have a look inside the demo application. For instance module hsd0016f will show you a stacked tab canvas inside a tab canvas.
