Oracle Database data presented in BPM 10.3 presentations

hi everyone,
I am new to oracle BPM. I am using version 10.3.1.
I want to know that how can i present the data from databases to the presentations found in the BPM. My scenario is that i want to display the activities present in database to the users. If possible can you give the step by step tutorial or demo on how to do it.
Regards,
Haris Kamal

This might be helpful. I don't see a process.version, but there is a process.retrieveObjectPropertyFor that says it will obtain the property from the directory.
Does anyone know if there is a list of valid properties to query for?
I see there is a FUEGO_PROCDEF table that has a field FUEGO_PROJREVREM in the directory database that would give me the information that I need. Can I get this value using the above method?

  • Oracle Database : Date conversion issue between timezones

    Hi All,
    We are trying to convert date from Eurpoer/Amsterdam timezone to Australia/Sydnet timezone and extracting time out of it.
    We are facing issue related to incorrect timing after conversion.
    Please find below issue details,
    Environment
    Database: Oracle 10.2.0.4
    Machine: Linux RHEL 4
    Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands
    Issue: After converting date from Eurpoer/Amsterdam timezone to Australia/Sydnet timezone
    SELECT TO_CHAR (FROM_TZ (TO_TIMESTAMP ('201110201416', 'YYYYMMDDHH24MI'),
    DBTIMEZONE
    ) AT TIME ZONE 'Australia/Sydney', 'HH24:MI')
    FROM DUAL
    Output of above SQL is 22:16.
    Expected output is 23:16
    Database Timezone (DBTIMEZONE) is set to +02:00 (i.e. GMT + 2) (Europe/Amsterdam)
    If we convert date to Australia/Tasmania timezone then we get expected output i.e. 23:16.
    Question: Expected time for Australia/sydney is 23:16, but why Oracle database provides 22:16 as output.
    Please note that, Sydney and Tasmania comes under same timezone. Still we get different output for both the timezone.
    Oracle database considers GMT + 10 for Australia/sydney and GMT + 11 for Australia/Tasmania.
    If we want to use Australia/sydney then how should we get correct sydney time?
    Regards
    Shailendra

    I made a test and it showed when I omit TO_CHAR, both queries have the same result 11:15 PM. So it's TO_CHAR which is the 'culprit'. Since this is a globalization issue, you may repeat your question in this forum:

    (So one of the moderators moves the thread to this forum).

    By the way my local timezone is Europe/Berlin, there should be no difference to Amsterdam.

    Is this possible in BI and how to do that, please help!!!
    Best Regards,

    Hi ,
    OEM starts gathering the data after agent is installed and management packs are applied on the database.
    So you cannot get the data before the agent installation.
    Apart from that, if you go on to the database home page, the click on metric collection errors.
    Most of the time you will find many metric collection error regarding to the targets.
    I had faced the similar issue and agent was not able to capture the space usage due to metric collection error.
    Please search on metalink and metric collection error may be due to some bug/permission issue.
    Once all metric collection issues are resolved, and management packs are enabled then you can see the reports.

  • Oracle Database data select failing

    Hi Experts,
    We have done SAP system upgrade and the programs using native sql are failing after the upgrade. while checking in debug I found the connection is successfully established to database but the select is failing.
    I also used the standard program ADBC_DEMO_METADATA to get the table details which is also failing. In the old system this program fetches the table fields and index properly.
    So now the issue is where to check whats causing the data selection to fail as connectivity seems fine?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Are you able to login to database using the tool TOAD.
    Also check your authorizations with BASIS ppl.

  • Transfering Oracle Database Data

    Dear Experts,
    I do hope someone can help. I have a single PC that has two versions of Windows XP installed. Each version of XP respectively has a version of Oracle 9i installed. I want to transfer the database from one Operating System to the other. What is the best way of doing this, effectively and easily???
    Can the schema be saved to CD and then transfered???? I would be greatful if someone could kindly explain to me how I could undergo this transfer??
    I look forward to all replys
    Thank you
    Kindest Regards

    This question might be better to ask on the Database-General forum rather than the Oracle Lite forum.
    This is usually done with the EXPORT/IMPORT utility from the server-side database.

  • Performance Issue : Application and oracle database in different sub-net

    Hi,
    We have an 24/7 application that uses oracle 11g R2 as the back end database. The application sits on a separate box and the oracle database sits on a separate box.
    Unless we keep both the machines in the same sub-net, the throughput of the application becomes very slow and kind of un-usable in performance setups.
    In fully loaded conditions, the application will be inserting around 12K records per minute into the database. In such scenario, restarting the application takes longer time (more than 2 hours) when the oracle server is on a different network as compared to the application. In real world, the oracle will be in a separate dedicated network and the DBAs resist to have an application in the same sub-net.
    Is there a way we can keep the application and the oracle database server in a different network (but present in same location) and achieve same throughput/performance when both servers are on same subnet.
    Thanks,
    Krishna

  • Oracle Database Architecture Understanding

    Hello everyone,
    I am a newbie in Oracle arworld, and I want to learn ORACLE. A few months ago, I started to learn Oracle Database Architecture, and read a book. However, I forget much of that books after weeks ago, and read again forget again.. I could not make tangible Oracle DB in my mind. This situation really degrades my performance while working. For example a simple example; the books says;
    Data Files:Every Oracle database has one or more physical data files, which contain all the database data. (physical storage structure)
    Data Blocks: At the finest level of granularity, Oracle Database data is stored in data blocks.(logical storage structure)
    Here, my mind is mixing. Both store data, so what is the difference. I want to go details of Oracle, in order to be successful. Please help  me and suggest something to do.
    Thank You

    I do not believe you will find MOS Docs that describe the architecture. Have you checked the docs ? What specific information are you looking for ?

  • Improving performance on migrating data from one Oracle database to another

    We are using hibernate to migrate complete tables from one database to the other. This takes hours to days to transfer a couple of tables, all having relationships between each other. The only difference is that the new tables have an extra column which stores the primary key of the source table as an alias key in the destination table and the destination table has only one extra column which is its own primary key. Another small difference is that the name of the columns is a little different.
    Isn't there a simple way to use Oracle database's in built tools to migrate data if provided the source and destination tables and column names for mapping purposes? Please provide some suggestions for this Oracle newbie. Any other suggestions on improving the migration performance will be greatly appreciated.
    Suggestions please!!!

    Hello Justin,
    Thanks for your prompt reply. Ours is a small company so we take up all kinda roles. In this particular scenario, I was asked to migrate all the tables from one database to another. Both of the databases are present on two different machines but on the same network. There are about 100,000 records in some of the tables and there are about 50 tables to migrate. As I said, both the tables have different columns to be mapped and then transferred and the new table has only one extra column which is a primary key in the new table. Under these constraints, Hibernate is taking way too much time.
    I always felt that there must be a simpler and efficient way to do this. I would appreciate if you could you explain me the procedures in detail please.
    Thanks in advance.

    We don't know the "query on Importing data from Microsoft Excel to Oracle Database (Multiple Data Tables). "
    We don't know where you posted said query.
    We don't know what "some answer and reference" you received "from the forum."
    We don't know what it was that your "Oracle consultant and representative from Oracle Malaysia" said was "impossible".
    So on what basis are we supposed to "help or direct" to "to an expert that can help "?

  • Problem reading data from oracle database 11g using OleDbDataReader

    Hi everyone I work with Visual Studio 2010 and C# programming language. I have a problem reading data from the oracle database. I created a WPF application with my main Window Xaml and class files and 1 more class called DataFiles. The thing I want is to read some data from the database on my grid in my WPF window. Problem is even though it connects to the database the grid is always empty. It isn't the connection string as I tested it and it connects to the database the problem seems to be in showing the LASTNAME (PREZIME in my native tongue) on the grid which is what it's supposed to do.
    Here is the code:
    Data Files Code
    using System;
    using System.Collections.ObjectModel;
    using System.Data.SqlClient;
    using System.Data.OleDb;
    namespace SQLKonekcija
        public class clsEmployee

        public class DataAccess
            OleDbConnection oleCon;
            OleDbCommand oleComd;

                oleComd.Connection = oleCon;
                oleComd.CommandText = "Select PREZIME from UPOSLENICI";
                oleCon.Open();
                OleDbDataReader Reader = oleComd.ExecuteReader();
                Reader.Read();
                while (Reader.Read())
                    EmpCol.Add(new clsEmployee()
                        Prezime = Reader["PREZIME"].ToString()
                oleCon.Close();
                return EmpCol;
            }And here is my main window.cs code

    The guys on the MSDN forums told me I should ask the question here so sorry if it's not your field.
    Hope u guys can help, thanks.

    I tried it, commented out the reader.read and have the following connection string
    string connectionString = "provider=ORAOLEDB.ORACLE; data source=ORCL; password=****; user id=****; OLEDB.NET=True"
    Unfortunately the result is the same.

    For all tables the operations works smoothly except for tables containing CLOB datatype.
    Initially i have used SQL Developer to transfer some data into excell sheets, now i want to transfer those file's data into another Oracle Database.
    What other options do i have?
    Is excel not the right tool to transfer CLOB datatypes?

    well,
    I couldn't suggest an excel to do it...

  • How to pass a date parameter from report builder query designer to oracle database

    i'm using report builder 3.0 connected to oracle database. i'm trying to pass a date parameter in the query with no success, i don't
    know the exact syntax. I've tried :
    SELECT * FROM igeneral.GCL_CLAIMS where CREATED_BY IN (:CREATED_BY) AND CLAIM_YEAR IN(:UW_YEAR) AND (LOSS_DATE) >To_Date('01/01/2014','mm/dd/yyyy')
    it worked perfectly.
    However if i try to put a date parameter "From" instead of 01/01/2014 it will not work, a Define Query Parameter popup window appear and error occurred after i fill
    the values (usually i shouldnt get this popup i should enter the value when i run the report)
    SELECT * FROM igeneral.GCL_CLAIMS where CREATED_BY IN (:CREATED_BY) AND CLAIM_YEAR IN(:UW_YEAR) AND (LOSS_DATE) >To_Date(:From,'mm/dd/yyyy')
    appreciate your assistance

    Hi Gorgo,
    According to your description, you have problem when in passing a parameter for running a Oracle Query. Right?
    Based on my knowledge, it use "&" as synax for parameter in Oracle, like we use "@" in SQL Server. In this scenario, maybe you can try '01/01/2014' when inputing in "From". We are not sure if there's any limitation for To_Date()
    function. For your self-testing, you can try the query in sqlplus/sql delveloper. Since your issue is related to Oracle query, we suggest you post this thread onto Oracle forum.
