Oracle Developer 2000 Reports Problem

Report is developed in D2K Reports 6i
There is paragraph as follows
< variable text 1><Telephone No><variable text 2>
eg this is sentence one contact 123 22 22 22 this is sentence two.
Because of variation of length of < variable text 1> at runtime, report displays this paragraph as follows -
this is sentence one this is sentence one this is contact 123 22 22 22 this is sentence two.
Please note that the telephone number is displayed partly on line 1 and partly on line 2. This is not acceptable.
Please suggest a solution to display the entire telephone no in one line and also justify the first line so that the entire text appears to be in same paragraph ie it is continuous, there are no unnecesseary spaces
ie the expected text is
this is sentence one this is sentence one this is contact
123 22 22 22 this is sentence two.

  • Call Developer 2000 Reports/Forms from PL/SQL stored proc.

    Hello all,
I am searching for a method for a stored procedure on Oracle 8.0 to call a Oracle Developer 2000 Report or Form.
    Any suggestions,
    Thanks,
    Julian

    No offense,
Do you mean calling a trigger in a Form or Report to fire off another of the same? Or do you mean how do I fire Forms from a Database stored procedure?
Please I don't mean any offense, it is just hard, sometimes to say simple concepts and not sound, well, bad.
Otherwise think about it. A Stored procedure is run inside the database, it has no idea where you client is, and doesn't know which type of client you have (X-Windows, Microsuck), and doesn't know how to fire off an app on the client.
One concept that is hard, sometimes, to get is where things are run. Forms runs on an Apps Server (Java screens), or a client, like on a PC. Stored procedures run, usually, on a whole different box, a database server. The database server is not that well connected that it can fire off a app on a client. Try to go to a Unix database server and run a command to fire off Internet Explorer on your client!? Not real easy to do.

  • How to get Oracle Developer 2000 for Windows

    Hi all,
I have some fmx and rep developed by "Oracle Developer 2000 for Windows" product. I can not run this fmx because of I dont have "Oracle Developer 2000 for Windows" product. I look up download.oracle.com to download but I dont find this product. How can I download or How can I run these fmx and reps?

Then you're pretty much out of luck. Your only option then is to ask Oracle Support, if they have a copy of "Developer 2000" (Forms 5.0), as you will need the Forms runtime for this version - but chances are pretty small. I just wonder, how you only can have the compiled files and not the source files... and there's no way to decompile an FMX back to an FMB. You can't get the source files somehow?
You know, that you're asking for something, which is very very old... it's like asking for a copy of Windows 95... on floppy disks....
It's more than 10 years ago, my company upgraded from Forms 5, and I don't think we have a copy of the installation media any longer. If Oracle Support can't provide you with a set of installation media, you might be lucky, that some user on this forum has a copy of it and will send it to you - but the chances of that is also pretty small, I'd say.... and in any case it will be completely unsupported, you're all on your own.
If I were you, I'd consider getting the application in question completely rewritten instead of trying to use those old FMX's for anything.
    Hope this helps,
    Jacob

  • ICON in Oracle Developer Suite 10g Problem

    Hi,
I have installed Oracle Developer Suite [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2 (Production) on my note book.I am able to compile forms which are developed in FORMS 6i
but not able to show the icons ...
The following Steps i have followed:
    1.Oracle Developer Suite Installed
2.FORMS_PATH ,REPORTS_PATH and UI_ICON has been set in both Registry and default.env
My Application Folder setup is as follows :
         D:\iAFRES\APPLICATION\FORMS
                                           \MENUS
                                           \REPORTS
                                           \ICONS
The registry variable values are as follows:
             FORMS_PATH=C:\DevSuiteHome\cgenf61\admin;C:\DevSuiteHome\forms;D:\iAFRES\APPLICATION\FORMS;D:\iAFRES\APPLICATION\LIB
             REPORTS_PATH=C:\DevSuiteHome\cgenf61\admin;C:\DevSuiteHome\forms;D:\iAFRES\APPLICATION\REPORTS;D:\iAFRES\APPLICATION\LIB
             UI_ICON=C:\DevSuiteHome\reports\plugins\resource;D:\iAFRES\APPLICATION\ICONS
All the icons i have converted to gif format since ORACLE DEVELOPER SUITE 10g does not support ico files. Path for the same has been set in registry.dat like
        D:\iAFRES\APPLICATION\ICONS
After doing all the above activities i am not able to show the icons ..Please tell me what to do to resolve the issue and provide me the steps for Application Deployment in Oracle 10g Developer Suite for Development purpose
    Thanks

  • Strengths and weaknesses of Oracle developer/2000

I wanted to know what the drawbacks and limitations of dev/2000(forms and reports) are. Would appreciate a discussion from various experienced developers on the limitations they faced and even the solutions they have provided/been provided.

If you're planning on developing a system with good user interface design I wouldn't recommend using Forms 2000.
We tried to do a design which mimics the Start menu of Windows on Forms 6 and my fellow programmer in charge of user interface had a hard time even with Oracle Technical Support.
I'm just not sure if later releases of Forms 2000 can address such issues (moving windows, hiding of the title bar, following of the mouse, etc.).

Create 3 fixed vertical elasticity, variable horizontal elasticity frames top to bottom down the page. Create a repeating from within each of those frames with a print direction of down/across. Set the horizontal elasticity to variable. create a fixed vertical/horizontal elasticity frame inside of those that's 1/3 the height of your repeating frame and the full width of your page. Add all your fields inside this last frame.

  • Calling ActiveX Control in Oracle Developer 2000 - Forms 5

    Hi All,
I am looking for sample code to call an ActiveX control from my application.
I have a data input form once i submit the data, the ActiveX control is called and the data is transmitted to a 3rd party application. Could you kindly provide me some pointer here please.
    Thanks

You're using a very old version of forms and also of SQL*Net.
to be sure that the problem is forms/sql*net related and not due to other reasons (e.g. network), you could install the current version (forms 10g) and just see if the connect is any faster. If it is, you could try to run Forms 5 with a newer version of the oracle-client /Sql*net to see if that works better.
    hope this helps.

  • Developer 2000( Reports 3 or Reports 6)

How do i poke data from reports rows into MS Word document any version ?
    null

    Hi Priyabrata,
Thanks for your reply. But i required something different. In fact, i wanted to use DDE to do this. If possible, you may provide information regarding this.
    Thank You.
Hi Suman. What u want to do ? U want get the
data into the MS Word file. If this thing you want to ask then certainly u can do that.
Make sure that u'r report should run in BitMap mode instead of character mode.
After that u can go to the option Generate to file and generate the output into RTF format.
    Hope this helps.

Is Developer 2000 release 2.1 works under Oracle 9.2.0.5.
If anyone can answer this will be real help.
    Thanks in advance.

It may be available through Oracle Support depending on the platform you need. You will need a valid Support Contract and access to MyOracleSupport (http://support.oracle.com)
Here is the info for Windows.
Oracle Developer Server Release 2.1 for Microsoft Windows NT
    Part number: A63484-01
Oracle Developer/2000 Release 2.1 for Windows NT and Windows 95
    Part number: A63486-01
The following should be considered before attempt to request or use the above:
    1. This product was desupported long ago and is not entitled to any Technical or Development support.
    2. This product version was not Y2K compliant. As a result it likely will not install correctly as the installer is sensitive to the date.
    3. This product was never intended to work correctly on the current operating systems. So, even if you are able to get it installed, it likely will not work correctly.
