Oracle Developer 6.0 not working in Windows NT
I have succesfully installed Oracle Developer 6.0 in the following M/c
HP-Vectra
Pentium III
64MB RAM
Windows NT workstation with Service Pack 4 loaded.
There is no error during the installation.
I have selected Complete Installtion option.
I have added the patch file also in the specified location. At some times while opening Form builder, the process hangs and does not get killed even through task manager.Hence PC is re-booted through Shutdown option.
But Similar installation is working fine in Compaq,pentiumIII, Windows NT workstation with service pack 4 loaded, and Other Windows95/98 machines also.
Kindly suggest possible solutions.
Thank you

Better you reinstall the developer ( and nt also if required ). It takes few minutes only.

Oracle OutSideX Viewer is not working in Window 7
Hi All,
We are having standard client/server application which uses oracle outsidex activex control as OLE viewer container for viewing office files.
this controls works file in XP machine, but failed to work from Window 7 (64bit).
It failed to call outsidex method -Object.ViewFile(false, finename, 0, 0, false, "", false, "");
Error is "this method cannot be invoked in a Windowless state!"
Best regards
Prasad
Edited by: user13302064 on Oct 19, 2011 6:36 AMThis error is likely related to the Viewer library (sccvw.dll) and indicates that it cannot be loaded. First reason could be missing Visual C++ package and another could be that FilterPath variable is not pointing to the location of the OIT libraries. Refer to the 2.2 Installing the ActiveX Control as Part of Your Application: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E16184_01/dev.837/e12847/c02_gettingstarted.htm
If this is not the case than I'm out of idea.

Oracle XE Western version not working on Windows XP pro
I have noticed that production version of the Oracle XE Western version does not work properly. The beta version created the database properly, the production version does not. I tried to install it on a Windows XP Pro version.

There are a couple of things to consider here
Why is this install going into c:\oracle\xeprod ? If should be going into C:\oraclexe. Did you do something to change the default install infrastructure ?
Secondly - sometimes we see this unable to open file error message if some other process is reading the file at the same time as the installer is trying to install it. Anti virus software and Google desktop have been culprits to date. -
32-bit Oracle ODBC Driver does not work under Windows 64-bit
We have both Oracle Server 64-bit (10.2.0.3) and Oracle Client 32-bit (10.2.0.1) installed on the same Windows 2003 64-bit server.
We can create and test 64-bit Oracle ODBC System DSN using 64-bit ODBC Administrator.
We can also create a 32-bit Oracle ODBC System DSN using 32-bit ODBC Administrator.
However, the "test connection" does not work:
Unable to connect
SQLState=IM003
Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 998 (Oracle in OraClient10g_home32)
We need the 32-bit driver due to 32-bit applications acessing the local 64-bit Oracle server.
How should we accomplish this?
Thanks.I applied 10.2.0.3 path to Oracle Client 32-bit and now the error is different.
This error message appears 3 times before configuring, creating or testing a System DNS:
"An unsupported operation was attempted."
I just click OK 3 times and then can configure, create or test the DSN.
However the 32-bit application still cannot access Oracle...

What version of the agent? ... 10g is not a version number it is a marketing label
Did you check to see if the agent is compatible with your operating system?
My recommendation would be to get a real operating system: Either Oracle Linux or XP. -

Java thread not working in windows 7
I have a Java app that runs just fine on Windows XP. However, on Windows 7 there is a problem related to a job being done via a Java thread.
Background: The app spawns a separate job via a Java thread and continues on while the spawned job executes. In other words, 2 things happen at once.
Problem: On Windows 7, when the app spawns the job, Windows sits and waits for the spawned job to complete before it continues on. In other words, 2 things DO NOT happen at once.
It's as if Java threading does not work in Windows 7. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.l_sleven wrote:
Thanks for the input, guys. From now on I'll be sure to include a SSCCE.
I'm beginning to believe this is actually my ignorance of threading in SWT, and XP was more forgiving than 7.
I would include a SSCCE, but of the 4 different ways I tried to get this to work I wouldn't know which to include since all failed to fix the problem.
If you want to identify a link to a web page identifying 'best practices' for SWT threading, that would be great. Be aware though that there's a good chance I've already googled the page.

TS1538 Ipod Classic will not work with Windows 8. Is there a fix?
Itunes will not work with Windows 8. I have the latest version of itunes!
When will the fix be available?
When I try to Sync my ipod, nothing happens.Hi,
You can download the latest official Firefox here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
You may also have to install [http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre7u9-downloads-1859586.html Java] (choose either Windows x86 Offline or Windows x86 Online), and [http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ Flash] (choose the Firefox version and also deselect extras).
For the Firefox metro version, please see [https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox/Windows_8_Integration#Elm_Nightly_Builds this]. You can install and use it along with the other version. -
Question
better privacy does not work with windows vista home prem. what other program removes LSO'S AND HOW can I stop trackers? edit
DetailsAs a temporary workaround, I believe this Adobe management page allows you to clear your "Flash cookies": [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html Adobe - Flash Player : Settings Manager - Website Storage Settings panel] (hosted on macromedia.com -- Macromedia was the original developer of Flash).
Regarding the script error, if I'm reading the script correctly, it is related to accessing your Flash cookies directory. It seems the publisher's support forum is not currently available for searching, but that might be a good next step.
In the meantime, could you check whether the script has the correct location for your Flash cookies directory? If you can't access Tool > BetterPrivacy, you could check here:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''bpr''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) There should be a bolded setting named '''extensions.bprivacy.DataDir''' which looks approximately like the following:
C:\Users\''yourWindowsUsername''\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia
Do you have a similar value? If you paste the path used by BetterPrivacy into a Windows Explorer window, does it open? Also, click a couple levels in the folder, can you see:
Flash Player \ #SharedObjects
If the value is wrong, right-click the wrong value and choose Reset. BetterPrivacy should update the value the next time you try to access it.
If the value is blank, you could try inserting a sensible value and see whether that helps.
Any luck? -
Addon not working on Windows Server 2008 OS
Dear Friends,
I have developed an addon in XP and its working fine with XP operating system but it is not working on Windows Server 2008 Standard. Error is "An Attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format.(Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007000B)".

Mahesh.
Edited by: mahesh A on Sep 19, 2009 9:26 AMHi,
Since only Windows 2008 SBS is supported with SAP Business One and that Server is available for 64bit Hardware as defined by Microsoft, I guess you should look into that direction.

Microsoft Mail not working with Windows 7 & MS-Office 2010
Dear All
I have a client who is using Microsoft Mail for their internal mailing. They have been using MSoffice ( Outlook) for this purpose for last so many years.
We have found that Microsoft Mail does not work with Windows 7 and MS Office 2010 combination.
When you try to configure it given error 0x8004110.
When we tried with different versions, we found that if you install Office 2007 it works. If you try Office 2007 and then Office 2010 and remove Office 2007, it still work. But Then it is treated as 2 installations of Msoffice on the same computer.
I need to know whether this is right from Licensing perspective. We 'll be using single copy of office but it may seems as we have installed Office 2007 & office 2010 on same computer.
--ShekharWe have found that Microsoft Mail does not work with Windows 7 and MS Office 2010 combination.

Windows 7 is a supported operation system for Office 2010. At what exactly point will you get the specific error?
Is that a Click-To-Run version of Office 2010? By default, for MSI-based version of Office, when you upgrade existing Office 2007 to Office 2010, the earlier version of Office will be removed:

For licensing advice, as <Don> suggested above, you should contact your local Microsoft customer support or reseller.

It's recommended to download and install
Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office

Flash not working on Windows 8.1
My flash player is not working on windows 8.1 (64g) with internet explorer. I have troubleshooted several times, and active x filtering is not checked off in the safety tab under settings and under manage add-ons shockwave flash is enabled. These are the only things that I can do to get it enabled according to the adobe website. What else can I do to make flash work on windows 8 in internet explorer?
First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:
https://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968
Internet Explorer 11 introduces a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.
You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11
If that is too inconvenient, using Google Chrome may be a preferable alternative. -

The command completed successfullyI had a problem of accessing Oracle 10g database homepage. After a couple of days of research and discussions with coworker we found a solution.
Here is the solution:
1. Find out your default browser.
2. Configure your default web browser to connect to the Oracle Database XE Database Home Page as stated
here:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25329_01/doc/install.102/b25143/toc.htm#CIHHJEHF
If this does not help de-install Oracle XE and reinstall following the instruction. During re-installation find out your default browser and configure it as instructed.
I suspect when the default web browser changes the Oracle 10g XE Database Home Page stops working.
Good luck -
Exporting Crystal Report to HTML is not working in Windows 7
Hi Sir,
I am trying to export Crystal Report to HTML format using VB.NET code. Functionality is working fine at Windows XP Environment (Save to Disk, Open an Application and Email Attachment). But the same functionality is not working at Windows 7 Environment (both 32-Bit as well as 64-Bit).
Below is the code to Exporting Crystal Report to HTML in VB.NET.
Dim CrDiskFileDestinationOptions As New DiskFileDestinationOptions
Dim CrFormatTypeOptions As New HTMLFormatOptions
Dim vFormat As Integer
Dim CrExportOptions As New ExportOptions
Dim vRdReport As New ReportDocument
Dim sfd As SaveFileDialog
Dim vFileName As String = Nothing
vRdReport = vRptSource
sfd = New SaveFileDialog
If Not (vRptPath = "") Then
sfd.InitialDirectory = vRptPath
End If
sfd.Filter = "Webpage, Complete(.htm;.htm)|.htm|Web Archive, Single file(.mht)|.mht|Webpage, HTML only(.htm;.html)|.html"
If sfd.ShowDialog = DialogResult.OK Then
' Set the disk file options.
CrDiskFileDestinationOptions.DiskFileName = sfd.FileName.ToString()
Else
Return
End If
CrExportOptions = vRdReport.ExportOptions
CrFormatTypeOptions.HTMLFileName = vFileName
CrFormatTypeOptions.HTMLEnableSeparatedPages = True
CrFormatTypeOptions.HTMLEnableSeparatedPages = True
CrFormatTypeOptions.HTMLHasPageNavigator = True
CrFormatTypeOptions.UsePageRange = True
With CrExportOptions
.ExportDestinationType = ExportDestinationType.DiskFile
.ExportFormatType = ExportFormatType.HTML32
.DestinationOptions = CrDiskFileDestinationOptions.DiskFileName
.FormatOptions = CrFormatTypeOptions
End With
vRdReport.Export()
Catch ex As Exception
MsgBox(ex.ToString)
End Try
Code working fine at Windows XP, But it is not woking in Windows 7 environment.
Please can anyone share your valuable thoughts or ideas reg. this.
Thanks in Advance

Run this code to reproduce the issue.Which issue?
It looks like inheritance is broken in the component hierarchy for JFrame in Windows 7 JDK 1.6.0_23-b05. The only thing remotely related to inheritance in your code snippet is the WindowListener, which does little. See camickr's advice about built-in exit management.
EDIT - using the post title as a clue, I realize you may be talking about the component hierarchy, and whether the contentPane's background is visible through the upper layers. Instead of guessing, I'd prefer you describe your "issue" accurately (observed vs expected behavior).
