Oracle developer(6i) on Web

Can we run the forms and reports developer2000(6i) on Web.
If yes what is the procedure.
looking for a response

Yes, you can run Forms and Reports 6i applications on the web. Go to http://otn.oracle.com and navigate to the Forms area. You will find whitepapers there. You can also click on the Documentation link on the left. By default, it shows the doc for Oracle9i Forms, but there's a link at the top for the Forms 6i demo.
You should also consider attending some training.

  • Run or display the output in Oracle developer form runtime web

    Hi guys,
I have installed oracle forms10g in windows 7. im using firefox v.2. when i run the form, the Oracle developer form runtime web is not opening. the output is display in the mozilla firefox itself.
but how to run or display the output in Oracle developer form runtime web?
    Thanks in advance

What's the problem? What do you mean with the form, the Oracle developer form runtime web is not opening and the output is display in the mozilla firefox itself?
Is the Form open or not? If you see you form, where ever, then the "runtime" is running!
Is it displays within the browser window? But you expected it in an own window?
If that's the case you have to set separateFrame = TRUE in fomsweb.cfg.

    Martha,
We to have Mac users we want to support via the web. There is no
Jinitiator for the mac yet...I understand they are working on it.
We have heard that forms may run on the mac in netscape 4.5
without the jinitiator, but it is not supported by Oracle...
client server Oracle Developer for Power Mac/Mac 68K is on v.
1.3.2 . This doesn't help if you are developing in forms 5.0..

  • How to print report in Character mode using Oracle Developer 10g

    Dear,
I migrate my forms and reports from Oracle Developer 6 to Oracle Developer reports 10g,
We are using some character mode report for bill printing. But when i run these report through menu on Web i got error message like
"REP-1920: Character mode runtime incompatible with DESFORMAT of PDF, HTML, HTMLCSS, SPREADSHEET or RTF"
i don't want to change the character mode to any other mode because it effects the printing.
so how can it possible to set the mode to character and view report on Web.

You have to pass the PRT file name as value for the DESFORMAT and use mode= MODE=CHARACTER.

  • Oracle Developer 6.0

I have installed the Oracle Developer 6.0 and Oracle8 packages on my 95

  • XML Development Vs. Oracle Developer

    My question is simple:
We do all of our development work using Oracle Developer and recently have begun to use the Forms Server to put our applications on the Web...I have read a little about XML, but I was wondering if anyone could lend some arguements about :
    1. When would I use XML over Developer?
    2. What do I need to get started?
    3. What would the best resources be to get a very-beginner XMLr going?

    Florent,
The two products are complimentary. XDB is a server product,
integrated with the Oracle server engine, and SQL as well.
BDB XML is a lighter weight, embedded library.
It is anticipated that the market overlap for the two products
    is not very large.

  • Pinging ip's with oracle developer 10g

    db and dev 10g rel2 ,
    hi all,
i want to ping some ip's through a form built with oracle developer 10g rel2 ,
    - i have two choices here ,
-there is an application can ping a lot of ip's automatically , it has options to load a file in which ip's are stored , and another option to save the result into a .csv file ,
so i am searching for a way to control that application , i want a way to do these tasks through a button on my form :
    1- open that application .
    2 -load the ip's .
3- save the result to a .csv file .
4- transferring the .csv data to a block on my form . -- and this is the simple step which i can do individually , but i do not know how to deal with the steps previously mentioned .
2- the second choice is to open the os command prompt through a button , and ping through it , but the problem is the result would not be displayed in columns , and i do not know a way to load the result into a block on the form.
if you could help me with any of these choices , or if you have another one , i would appreciate that .
    thanks in advance

i've tried to use it like it is in the example : , i used only the first two parameters
    DECLARE
      c  utl_tcp.connection;  -- TCP/IP connection to the Web server
    BEGIN
      c := utl_tcp.open_connection(remote_host => 'www.acme.com',
                                   remote_port =>  80);
end ; by the way , before i posted the thread , i've tried it , but i faced problems while executing it , that's why i asked if it is
suitable for me or not .
when i execute it by the above code , the engine tells me that "procedure successfully completed , but without any result .
2- if you could tell me what does "remote_port" means , because i posted the number in the example as it is .
i do not know what is port ?
3- do you know about a jave bean can do my requirements ?
    thanks a lot

  • Oracle forms to j2ee/web application

    Hello all,
I need help with converting "oracle forms" to j2ee/web application. There are only 2-3 forms. But I needed to know how to do it from scratch. I looked at some softwares available to do it. But its costly.
Basically the company I am working with, needed all the forms online, so that they can access it using a browser. As part of the development, I am using jdeveloper 10g.
    could some help me out
    Thanks a lot
    san

Well if you need your Forms accesible from a browser you don't need to convert them to Java - you just use Forms on the Web - http://otn.oracle.com/formsupgrade
If you still want to convert to Java have a look at the Forms page for more info:
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/forms
    and also here:

  • Difference between oracle Developer suit and Oracle Application Server???

    Dear all,,
If any one please tell me the main difference between Developer Suit and Oracle Application Server.
I will be very thank ful.
    Thank you
    Hina.

    Hi Hina
can i deploy my application build on oracle 10g using developer suite with db10g and I don't use application server? For individual use and development yes u can using oracle Developer suit after starting OC4J
but for client use for more than x user to be able to run reports using parameter forms and other forms application u must use Oracle Application Server
    An application server is
a server program in a computer in a distributed network that provides the business logic for an application program.
The application server is frequently viewed as part of a three-tier application, consisting of a graphical user interface (GUI) server, an application (business logic) server, and a database and transaction server.
More descriptively, it can be viewed as dividing an application into:
    --- A first-tier, front-end, Web browser-based---
1.graphical user interface, usually at a personal computer or workstation
2.A middle-tier business logic application or set of applications, possibly on a local area network or intranet server
3.A third-tier, back-end, database and transaction server, sometimes on a mainframe or large server
    Hope this helps,
