Oracle Developer certification

Hi All:
I am planning on taking Oracle Developer Certification .
Can anyone guide me on choosing between IZ 001 or Iz007.
Which one of the exams would help me for the next level of certification(Programming with Pl/SQL certification).
Also, are there are many certification specific books to select from(Sybex,Oracle Press).Which one of these is a better choice ??
Thanks

Oracle Developer Exam Certification Guide from Oracle Press certainly needs update to cover web based forms. Most of it covers Forms Reports 5.0 , 6i only. Try
"Oracle9i Developer: Developing Web Applications with Forms Builder" - John Palinski. (It also comes with the Oracle 9i Forms CDs) in addition to the "OCP Building Internet Applications I & II Exam Guide" - 100% exam objectives coverage Guides.

  • Oracle 11g certification in Developer track

I would like to go for Oracle 11g certification in Developer track. I've already given 1Z0-051 paper.
Is OCA 11g certification in Developer track now available. And if it is not currently available, I believe when it is going to be released the first paper is going to the be same (1Z0-051) and I could give the second paper and get the certification.
    Please advise.

Could you please explain what is the difference between beta exam and the normal one.Q) What is the difference between a Beta exam and a production exam?
    A) Beta exams are used by Oracle to test new exam questions with the participation of a live audience. Data gathered during beta testing are used to select the best questions for the production exam, and to eliminate questions that are ambiguous, too easy or too difficult, or are unhelpful in evaluating participants' knowledge level. Beta exams are offered at a discounted price; and candidates usually have either 3 or 3.5 hours to complete the exam, and may see 175 - 220 questions. For more details on how beta exams differ from the production version, visit the Oracle Certification Beta Exam Information web page.

I see that 1Z0-146 is the final paper for OCP (Advanced PL/SQL programmer). Can I not get a OCA certification in 11g?You can get the "Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate" certificate if you pass (1Z0-001 or 1Z0-007 or 1Z0-047 or 1Z0-051) + 1Z0-147 exam.

  • Source for oracle 9i Forms developer certification

    Hi,
Someone told me that oracle 10g & 11 g are mainly for those interested in database administration. But, since i am interested in developers certification i want to go for oracle 9i forms developer certification ( I want to have knowledge about Forms, reports etc)
Can we learn it without any tutions ??
If yes, can you please specify websites or book names??
    Thanks & regards

    Hi,

I could write an essay, but some of my views are:
I am sure the Oracle would regard databases Oracle 10g and Oracle 11g as later versions of the Oracle Database that are generally upwards compatible with 9i but also with newer and better features.
Because there are significant(ish) adminstration differences in these database versions there is emphasis of these database administration certifications.
On the developer size yes PL/SQL has also improved, but the requirement for a newer certifiaction exam (at OCP level) was perhaps not quite so pressing:
This seems to be addressed version of the pl/sql exam, 1z0-144 (in beta), but from history even after 1z0-144 is fully released most forums vistors will go for 1z0-147 rather than 1z0-144 (see 1z0-007 versus 1z0-051 posts).
Also note that newer tools versions may not be closely coupled to newer database versions.
But, since i am interested in developers certification i want to go for oracle 9i forms developer certification ( I want to have knowledge about Forms, reports etc)
I suspect from a developers point of view oracle 9i forms developer is so similar to oracle 10g forms developer there is not much need/demand for a oracle 10g forms developer certification. (I would expect more emphasis to be put on producing an application express certifiaction anyway)
Can we learn it without any tutions ??
    Not impossible but hard.
Oracle Recommended course woudl be: [http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getlppage?page_id=212&path=FMDT]
If yes, can you please specify websites or book names??
    - And courses:
    - Oracle have some self study CDROMs : [http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getSearchResults?p_output_style=T&p_search_category_id=1278&p_search_format=2]
    - There may be some fair/good courses arround. In india I think, butt am not sure, sql_star are an authorised partner and give forms training. Beware of unauthorised training.
    - In terms of books
There are probably more bad forms books than good ones, and most are going out of print (consider second hand). Some sites like amazon have reviews.
    - Websites:
    - If you see or are given any websites at a miinimum check the URL through [http://www.certguard.com]
    - The one site I know of is [http://www.iselfschooling.com]. Its not got a RED at certguard, and its not got a full green either. Theres a few lessons you can get for free. For learning forms definitely no problems. If going straight for a certification then may be bad. But I believe its more training orientated than dump orientated and I believe their using original materials (if anyone knows different please let me know and certguard know and I'm have for this post to be edited or deleted).

Note there is more than one Oracle certification track for developers.
    These are documented at: http://www.oracle.com/education/certification/index.html?ocptracks.html
If you're interested in the Java track (since you posted your question in the JDeveloper forum), then select that one from the above site. Each track provides a downloadable "candidate guide" which details the recommended study sources, books, or courses.

  • How to install Oracle Developer Suite 8 on windows 8 64bit

    Hi, everyone.
I have facing problem. How to install Oracle Developer Suite 10g on windows 8. Please send me step by step install.
    Thanks
    Mbulur.

No version of Forms/Reports is currently supported on Windows 8. Also, because Error Correction support for versions older than 11 have ended, no new certifications will be provided for those versions. I would recommend you consider upgrading to Forms/Reports 11.1.2.1 as we are hoping for Win8 certifications in the future for this version.

    With Regards,
RkThe Oracle PL/SQL deveoper certifications is not version specific; probably becuase in general changes are version specific.
If general you need to pass one or mor exams for a certification.
The relevant page for yourself is here (in case you didnt already find it):
So for instance if you passed 1z0-051 and 1z0-144 you would gain a PL/SQL OCA certification
: 1z0-0147 is an alternative exam for 1z0-144
: 1z0-007 is an alternative for 1z0-051 (as is 1z0-047 but that generally though to be more difficult)
A PL/SQL OCA who also passes 1z0-146 gets a PL/SQL developer OCP. (There is no hands on course requirement for a PL/SQL OCP, unlike a DBA OCP)
:: As an added confused 1z0-144 is currently in beta (as exam 1z0-144 until 10th sept. 2009). The production exam will not then release for another 10/13 weeks, say 1st december 2009.
For most people I would recommend concentrating on 1z0-051 first.
Hoping I have not confused you more - bigdelboy.

    Hi rissato,
I just wanted to clarify a point for you. You may NOT reuse a voucher. A discount voucher is for 1-time use. So, you can use it for your first exam attempt, but you will need to pay in full for your 2nd exam attempt.
I also want to remind you of our retake policy.
    - Candidates must wait 14 days before retaking a failed exam.
    - Candidates may retake an online non-proctored exam at any time.
    - Candidates may not retake a passed exam at any time.
    - Candidates may not retake a beta exam at any time.
The retake policy was put in place to protect the integrity of the Oracle Certification Program exam content and allow the candidate additional time to prepare for a failed exam. Please note that violation of the retake policy in any way, including but not limited to, registering for and retaking an exam under a new Prometric ID within the 14-day waiting period, is against policy and will be treated as a violation of the Exam Retake Policy. If a candidate creates a new ID in order to retake the exam within the 14-day waiting period, the results of the retaken exam will be invalidated. No refunds or credit will be provided by Oracle or any of its partners.
Failure to adhere to this policy is a direct violation the Oracle Certification Program Candidate Agreement that you agreed to at the time you took the exam and could result in the additional actions such as (but not limited to) revocation of credentials that you hold or being banned form the Oracle Certification Program or barred from taking future Oracle exams.

  • MYSQL Developer Certification examples

I am looking to take MySQL 5 Developer Certified Professional Exam, Part I | 1Z0-871 but would really like to see an example paper before taking the exam. I know it is recommended to look at topics but pre the Oracle buyout it was relatively simple to find example papers and practise - is this still possible - can anyone point me in the right direction (Oracle cannot!).

    - there are no sample questions (pre MySQL sun days the MySQL website used to contain 10 sample question per exam, these have disappeared with the moves to Sun then Oracle.
    - It says the exam is validated against 5.0, 5.1, 5.5
    3) Matthew Morris gathered a basic set of resources here:
    http://www.oraclecertificationprep.com/apex/f?p=OCPSG:EXAM_DETAILS:0::NO::P2_EXAM:1Z0-871
... In particular I suggested he added the "MySQL 5.0 Certification Study Guide " as I believe it still probably remains the key reference source for these exams. There are a number of questions after each chapter (Reading the review this may only be on the CDROM ... that isn't the case for MySQL DBA Cluster exam book .... but may be for the earlier one ... this is relevant if you buy an electronic edition). If you learn the material first, then see these questions for the first time, they should give you a indictor of exam readiness.
If you seek exam questions on the net I am reasonable sure you will find only braindumps etc ... which are to be avoided ... as they are cheating:
    https://blogs.oracle.com/certification/entry/0859_01
My personal opinion (not authorative) is that this exam is unlikely to have changed much from the pre- Oracle/Sun days. The statement on the exam page "This exam has been validated for MySQL 5.0, 5.1 and 5.5" indicates this is essentially remains the MySQL 5.0 but that questions have been checked to ensure they remain valid for 5.1 and 5.5( often affects DBA exams more ... often caused by later versions removing a restriction or odd behavior that was appropriate to test the candidate for on earlier versions). Questions not meeting that critieria will have been modified/removed/replaced. Questions should not be present that rely on 5.1 and 5.1 features.
Edited by: bigdelboy on Feb 4, 2013 2:27 AM ... check checked in the book ... the questions are cdrom only ... from what i now recall they do not have an associated test engine .. PDF work form only. It is possibly they are not chapter related ... only exam related.

Exam 1Z0-122 Developer/2000 Build Forms II
