    Hi,
I have had a look at my installation, and what I did was create two directories called disk1 and disk2, (for the two extracted zip files) and then ran setup in the disk 1 directory. So I don't know if it was aware of the disk 2 directory.
I am re-installing it now. So I will get back to you.
Thank you very much for getting back so quickly.

  • Testing Tools for Oracle Developer Server

    Hi,
Are there any existing Automated Testing Tools to simulate load for the Oracle Developer Server.
    Lemme know.

Oracle has an internal testing tool that can be used to do this called Intercept Server.
You can ask your local consulting office to carry out the load test for you using Intercept Server.
If you would like to do this task yourself then you will need to purchase a load test tool from Mercury called LoadRunner, last thing I heard they supported Forms 4.5 and were about to support Forms 6.0

  • How to install Oracle Developer Server 6.0 on NT?

I am trying to install the Oracle Developer Server 6.0 on NT using the CD's available through the Oracle Enterprise Developer Suite for NT. The cover pack on the Oracle Developer Server 6.0 CD shows a product called Developer Server. (Please note that I have another CD called Oracle Developer 6.0 in the suite). However, when I run the installer and look at the products available on the CD, there is no product called Developer Server. The CD only contains Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports etc.
Further, I just tried a typical Development Setup, but it starts the installation and suddenly exits the installer without giving any error message or any other info. Why is the installer ending abruptly? Thinking that it is not a Y2K complaint Installer, I actually tried installing the CD contents from a Y2K complaint Installer but during the installation process, it exits with a message that the Installer need to be installed from the media. This message is displayed although I don't select Oracle Installer as one of the product to be installed.
Has anyone else faced a similar problem? Could some one let me know how to install the Oracle Developer Server 6.0 on NT.
    Best Regards,

  • Oracle developer server

    Hi all
I have Configured Oracle developer server and using IIS as Web server.
I am not able to launch Reports on the web.

Can anyone tell me how to launch RDF or REP file.

First, the r30cgi32 file must be in your CGI directory. Copy it there and try
http://yourservername/cgi-bin/r30cgi32/showenv ( use the name of the cgi directory instead )
This should display report server environment info.
Second, make sure the location of your rdf or rep file is included in the REPORTS30_PATH variable (listed by the previous command ). If so, try
    http://yourservername/cgi-bin/r30cgi32?batch=yes&destype=cache&server=....&userid=.../...@...&REPORT=......rdf&param1=...&.....
I have myself problem when referencing .REP files, using the reports server - .RDF files work OK. The message is "Can not read from Report Builder message file" or similar. Any ideas, folks?

  • Does Oracle Developer /Server(Japanese) support Internet deployment

    Hi,
I am working on Oracle Sever 8.0.4 / Oracle Developer 6.0 / Apache Web Server 1.3.6 / WinNT. I am trying to access the Oracle Forms thru Internet and made the settings according to the explanation given in the Developer6.0 technical papers. But When I access a form from Internet, it is not displaying the requested form and falling into the wait state. When observed in Apache's error log file, I saw the following error messages :
    File Not Found : d:\orant\froms60\java\oracle\forms60\engine\RunformBudle_ja.class
    File Not Found : d:\orant\froms60\java\oracle\forms60\engine\RunformBudle_ja.properties
    File Not Found : d:\orant\froms60\java\oracle\forms60\engine\RunformBudle_ja_JP.properties
I made the system wide search for these files but not seen....
I could able to run these forms with "web deployment" option in the developer Forms menu, but not from the browser....
Do Any one of u have the Idea whether Oracle Developer / Developer Server 6.0(Japanese version) support the access from Internet.

    Hi Yang:
Yes, you will have to upgrade to at least 8.1.7 if you are using Sun or 9.0.1 if you are using HP.
In these versions of the database you will have the abilty to syncronize.

  • Oracle VM Server 2.0 for Sun Fire v240?

    Hi all,
I am searching and trying all day long to install Oracle VM Server on SPARC 64 Sun Fire v240.
I still can not find information is it supported or not?
    I have Oracle Solaris 10 5.10 Generic_142909-17 sun4u sparc
the CPUs are UltraSPARC-IIIi (portid 0 impl 0x16 ver 0x34 clock 1503 MHz).
    I installed OVM_Server_SPARC-2_0 from https://edelivery.oracle.com/
Anyway the command ldmconfig returns that This is not supported by my platform!
In the release notes of Logical Domain Manager 1.2, 1.3 and VM Server 2.0 is written the supported hardware and I can not see the v240, but I see
    Supported Platforms:
Sun Fire and SPARC Enterprise T1000 Servers
Sun Fire and SPARC Enterprise T2000 Servers
Probably this sun fire is not Sun fire v240 but it is sun fire t1000?!
What do you think - is my server supported for any of these versions? Is virtualization possible?
Also I can not download version 1.3 because it's moved to oracle my support section but it was free?
Need your help and support :)
    Thanks a lot.

    A T1000 servers does not show V240.

  • Memory used to host Oracle VM server, whats left for the guests?

I've built my first test Oracle VM server on a small celeron powered machine with 1.5GB RAM. I created a PV OEL5 guest and initially gave it 512MB RAM. Now if I increase this to 1024MB and try to start the system I get the error...
    failed:<OVSException: no server selected to run vm('/OVS/running_pool/50_OELr5r3') memory=1024> StackTrace: File "/opt/ovs-agent-2.2/OVSSiteVM.py", line 77, in start_vm raise e
    A little research implies this error is because not enough memory is available to run the OS. So how much from the 1.5GB of RAM is actually available for guests? I would be surprised to learn that 512MB is used JUST for the host environment. Doing a cat /proc/meminfo gives me the following;
    *[root@ovm ~]# cat /proc/meminfo*
    MemTotal:       545968 kB
    MemFree:        335464 kB
    Buffers:         75120 kB
    Cached:          58392 kB
    SwapCached:          0 kB
    Active:         143920 kB
    Inactive:        22356 kB
So 533MB available to the host OS... This leaves just under a gig For the guests, but I can't find where the max is detailed. I can't find anything in the docs which detail how much resources the base Oracle VM server uses and if it's possible to tune this.

You can lower this, but don't go too low. I usually recommend about 10% of total memory be dedicated to Dom0 up to a max of 3.5GB, so on a 1.5GB box, you could probably drop to 150MB or so. Keep in mind that Dom0 is a 32-bit kernel, so you don't want to go over 3.5GB without good reason.

  • Do older versions of Oracle Application Server support Containers for J2EE?

Do older versions of Oracle 9iAS support Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE (OC4J)?
I went to the our companies application server directory. I don't see an oc4j or j2ee directory.
    Thanks,
    Merced

How far back are you looking? ANd what, in particular, are you looking for ...
The history of the Oracle 'internet service' that I remember is roughly:
    Web Server 2.1 (mid 1990s)
Web Application Server 3.x (mid 1990s)
Oracle Application Server 4.0.x (late 1990s)
Oracle Internet Application Server 1.0.x (2000)
Oracle Application Server 8i (basically 1.0.2.22.2.z)
    Oracle Application Server 9i (9.0.2, 9.0.3)
    Oracle Application Server 10g (9.0.4, 10.?.1)
Oracle had an initial J2EE container [attempt] with 4.0.x but that never really took off. I think that was really around the time of the last beta revisions for the JSP spec, and that's left us with the legacy of JServ apps. Seems like you would see OJSE, Oracle JSE (Java Server Engine?) in the docco and path.
IIRC, the current OC4J lineage started with around IAS 1.0.2 and has moved forward on what is now OC4J. There were some opportunities in the early days to improve consistency in the naming and directory structure areas. That has some lineage from Ironflare's Orion engine and so occasionally you see 'Orion' in the messages.

I have installed Oracle As (infratructure & middlie tire) on same box.
    10g Release 2 (10.1.2)
Now I need to do post installation steps as below.
    ORACLE_HOME
    1) How to set to the full path of the installation's Oracle home?
    2) Do I need to also set ORACLE_HOME for middle tier?
    ORACLE_SID
    (Infrastructure installations only)
    3) How to set the OracleAS Metadata Repository SID supplied during installation?
    cheers,

    Hello,
I have installed Oracle AS Infrastructure (10.1.2) and BI & Forms on our Linux box.
Now I am doing some post installtion steps .
    Per Oracle® Application Server Quick Administration Guide 10g Release 2 (10.1.2) B14126-02
    \http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_10/core.1012/b14126/toc.htm

    ORACLE_HOME=/opt/oracle/infra; export ORACLE_HOME
** Set to the OracleAS Metadata Repository SID you supplied during installation.
    ORACLE_SID=orcl; export ORACLE_SID
Is it the correct way to setup ORACLE_HOME & ORACLE_SID?
Actually I have setup as above on Last thursday. (09-15-05)

  • No Oracle Developer Tools and Datasources for VS2012 Update 3

    Hi all
I am using VS2012 Update 3 and I have installed Oracle 11.2.0.3.20 32 bit successfully. Unfortunately, the tools are not showing up in the VS About Dialog, nor do I have the Oracle Datasources in VS.
    Any help appreciated.
    Juerg

    Hi Christian
Thanks for reply. Yes I did install this exact version. The funny thing is that I can open a project in VS2012 (created in VS2010 with the 11.2.0.3 version on an other box) on my machine and the VS2012 EF designer opens correctly when double clicking on the .edmx file. The Oracle Client data providers however do not show up ( and therefore I cannot recreate the model from the database). Also the About dialog does not contain the VS Oracle tools. Build and run however works, as well deployment to an IIS/R2008 server where 11.2.0.3 is installed.
The ifile is a parameter in the tnsnames.ora file to reference other tnsnames.ora. That is the way we reference the company wide tnsnames.ora on a shared drive. This does not work in the 12.1 ODT version.
    http://oracleprofessional.blogspot.ch/2007/05/using-ifile-to-centralise-tnsnamesora.html
IMHO the uninstalling of the 12.1 and reinstalling 11.2.0.3 somehow screwed up the registry or whatever. I am quite familiar with VS and also the command line switches, I did all I could (/resetsettings, etc), but nothing helped. Also a repair of VS2012 did not help. After the not working 11.2.0.3 I tried to reinstall 12.1, but with no success. I always did an uninstall and a reboot in between each installation/uninstallation.
Another question, this installer looks a bit outdated, did Oracle ever think about using newer ways of providing such an installer ( NuGet, and/or vsix) ?
    Kind regards
    Juerg

  • Export from one oracle datasbase server to another  for version: 9.2.0.1.0

    Hi All,
I know this is an elementory thread , however i would like to know the process of import and export of database in detail.
I need to copy the entire database from a existing prodcution server having oracle 9.2 as its version to another server with same oracle version .
Kindly mention the process to be carried out .
    Thanx in advance

I need to copy the entire database from a existing prodcution server having oracle 9.2 as its version to another server with same oracle version .Its better to take a hotbackup/coldbackup or RMAN backup depending on the environment. Exp/Imp will be time consuming.
    For exp/imp;
    http://www.orafaq.com/wiki/Import_Export_FAQ
For full export-import, you need to do is take an exp backup from source DB. Create same tablespace that of source DB and import from the dump file.
    exp system/manager full=y buffer=100000 feedback=10000 recordlength=64000
    imp system/manager full=y buffer=100000 feedback=10000 recordlength=64000
