Oracle Developer Suite Run time Error

Hi am Installed Oracle forms developer suite 10g,9i database and j initiator.. jinit13122..WINDOWS XP..When i running locally Am getting blank screen in internet Explorer...and additional plugins required to display media in this page when i run in firefox..

When i running locally Am getting blank screen in internet Explorer...and additional plugins required to display media in this page when i run in firefox..What version of IE and Firefox are you using? More than likely, you are dealing with a compatability issue with Jinitiator. Oracle has discontinuted Jinitiator and is no longer supported.
If you are using IE7 or higher and Firefox 2.0 or higher you will need to configure your installation to use the Sun JRE 1.6.0_16 or higher. Take a look at Oracle 10gR2 Forms Services - Using Sun's Java Plug-in for information on how to modify your formsweb.cfg.
Hope this helps,

Increase your Windows paging file by going to Control Panel->System->Advanced(tab)->Performance Settings(button)->Advanced(tab)->Virtual Memory. Change the Initial size to be at least 1535MB.

I haven't ever used the oci8 driver, but you could use the thin driver as follows:
    jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:BhDb1
The thin driver is more portable since it doesn't require the NetClient to be installed.
    Hope this helps.

  • Oracle developer suite installed under a different Oracle Home

    I have Oracle 10g r2 installed on a RHAS4 server.
I installed Oracle developer suite 10.1 on this server. In the installation procedures, there are specific instructions to not install it under the ORACLE_HOME for an existing database installation.
Oracle was already installed under /usr/lib/oracle (don't ask me why, I didn't do it).
I installed oracle developer suite under /oracle/dev. If I set ORACLE_HOME to /usr/lib/oracle, proc responds with:
Symbol `kpccapCTarr' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking
PCC-F-NOERRFILE, unable to open error message file, facility PR2
If I set ORACLE_HOME to /oracle/dev, it works correctly.
This appears to require me to switch my oracle home setting each time I switch between using Pro*C and sqlplus. This in very inconvenient. I have worked on many, many systems in the past which had one ORACLE_HOME for both the RDBMS and the development tools.
Is this a new constraint introduced by Oracle? Where does this restriction come from?
Is there something I don't understand and have I installed the developer suite incorrectly?

It looks to me this is a mess; i have installed oracle 10g on rhas4 and it didn't install under that folder. I'd suggest to run oui/run installer and show what are the oracle_homes found there; maybe you should reinstall it in the proper locations, under different accounts, etc.

  • Oracle Forms 10g run time problem

    Hello.
I installed Oracle Dev 10g and I'm trying to use Oracle Forms.
I configured all files like this:
    [steps in other post]
    1. Install the Jinitiator
    location: <devsuitehome>/jinit/jinit.exe
    2. edit the following files:
    a. <devsuitehome>/forms90/server/default.env
where you set forms90_path=add your path to your library files (*.pll)
    b. <devsuitehome>/forms90/server/formsweb.cfg
where you set workingDirectory=path to your *.fmx files
    3. at Forms Builder go to Edit/Preferences/Runtime
then at the Application Server URL click "Reset to Default"
    4. before attempting to run your forms, run "Start OC4J Instance" first
    start/programs/oracle developer suite/forms developer/start oc4j instance
After this, when I try to run the form, I don't get any error, but the browser opens and does nothing! Some times appears a small form to acces the data base, other don't, but it always stops!!
    Any ideas?!?
    Many thanks,
    Nuno

Might also be worth turningon the Jinit console (you can do this from your windows Control Panel). And set the trace level to 5 (just press 5 when the jinit console appears).
    Then check error messages.

Are you logged in as an administrator?
I wouldn't install in Program Files anyway. I'm not sure, but I have a gut feeling that Oracle doesn't like spaces in file and directory names. Install in C:\Oracle directory.

Developer Suite 10 is not certified or supported to be installed on Win7 (64bit). Although it can be done, you will have problems later if you manage to get it installed. If you really want to have it on your Win7 laptop, I encourage you to install "Windows XP Mode", which is part of Windows Virtual PC. This is free to licensed Win7 users (does not apply to Home edition). Refer to the following:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/install-and-use-windows-xp-mode-in-windows-7
