My car does not start please tell me why?
Even if I do not know why my car does not start I know what brand it is. Why do you not know the name of the product you are working with?
There is no product named simply OEM. So the question still remains. Is it OEM Grid Control or OEM DBConsole?

  • Invalid charater in Excel when input .txt file that run from Oracle discove

    Hi All,
    I ran a report from oracle discover and saved as txt file, then open it with excel, the chinese will be shown as invalid character.
    The problem is that Chinese characters can't be displayed well if I download the report (in csv ) from discover desktop version on my computer and open it with excel.
    Pls. help to resolve the problem.
    Thanks.

    Hello
    I'm afraid that I don't have much experience of working with Chinese characters and can see nothing in my notes that might help. Give it a couple of days for others to reply and if you don't get anywhere I recommend raising this as a service request with Oracle Support.

  • Oracle dictionary view 2 find the queries run and it's execution time

    Hi All,
    I s there any oracle dictionary view which captures the queries being run by users on the database and time taken to execute those queries?
    We need to find out the OS user not the database user since we have to identify the users who are executing long running queries.
    We require this basically to monitor the long running queries on the database.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
    welcome to the forum!
    Oracle doesn't store information about individual executions of SQL queries (that would've been too expensive), but you can find cumulative query execution stats in V$SQL. If you are interested in queries by a specific OS user, then Active Session History can help you (provided you have the Diagnostic Pack License).

  • Projection problem in OracleAS Map Viewer

    Hi,
    I am using OracleAS Map Viewer 11 EA1and I try to display a map with an image (srid=1002000) and a vector (srid=8192) on the top. If I understand the documentation correctly, the vector might be reprojected into the map srid which is 1002000. But when the map is created, the vector is not correctly reprojected (I see some roads in the ocean!). I am wandering if it is a bug in map viewer; or maybe I didn't use it corectly!
    My query looks like:
    <map_request
    title=""
    datasource="all_images"
    width="1229"
    height="840"
    srid="1002000"

    your map request seems correct, and yes mapviewer will automatically reproject your vector theme if it's srid (8192) is different from the request srid (1002000). What's more likely is that your georaster is not being displayed correctly? Have you tried displaying the vector road data against a know vector boundary data set like country/state, in the 1002000 projection and see if everything is working fine? then add the georaster layer back on and go from there....

  • Error -3000 in Oracle Explorer View while trying to add connection. v. 10.2

    I have been using Oracle 9.2 and it's cooresponding ODP.NET for ASP.NET web development. I am now started on a new project that is running on a 10g database. I figured I would try out the Visual Tools suite and get the benefit of using ODP.NET and the integrated tools.
    I run the installer and created a new home directory just like the release notes say. After I reboot I copy my TNS Names and try SQL plus from my 9.x version and it works perfectly I can connect to any server. I check my Oracle Home selector and it is pointing to the 10g client directory.
    The problem is that when I am in Visual Studio .NET 2003 and open the Oracle Explorer view and click Add Connection. I get the dialog box and select my database and use a username/password and click Test and I immediately get a "-3000" error message almost like it is not even going out on the network. It says some internal error (String) datatype but nothing useful at all in the error message to help in resolving the error.
    I did a search on the forums here and everyone says use the latest version which I would do but I am on the latest version (Downloaded Yesterday 10-19-2005). So to get back to work I uninstalled the 10g visual tools and I am using the 9.2 client using the 9.2 ODP.NET until I can find out what the issue is with the 10g tools.

    Just to give an update to help others if they may encounter this issue. I uninstalled the Oracle 9.x client and removed any traces even the Universal installer. Once you reboot and ensure that nothing anywhere is pointing to the oracle directory I even deleted the Oracle directory to ensure that it would be a clean install.
    I then proceeded to install the 10.2 Developer tools and used the default settings and when I finished the installation I copied my TNSNames over to the network directory and rebooted. I then launched VS.NET 2003 and went to Oracle Explorer and added a Database and did the test connection and it worked. So it appears to have an issue with an existing installation running side by side (9.x and 10.x) The 9.x install did have the ODP.NET library installed so this alone might have been the issue as I haven't seen in the docs were you can't have both on the same system as with .NET you aren't supposed to have this issue running multiple versions of the same .NET assembly on the same machine.
    What was wierd with the scenario is that other than ODP.NET on the 10g client install everything worked fine connecting using the command line tools. It just would not connect via Visual Studio .NET's environment. I didn't try to do it in code as I figured it would be just the same issue.

  • How to view running instance in OSB like we can see in BPEL process

    Hi,
    If someone does call the proxy service twice , How can I see the running instance of particular proxy service ? Like we can view BPEL instance in Enterprise Manager 11g and debug the problem.
    Thanks

    OSB is a stateless and hence you cannot view running instances in OSB.
    You can use Log, Report and Alert actions to debug your code. Each one has their specific usage. Please refer http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/userguide/modelingmessageflow.html#wp1080496
    You can also use OSB Monitoring to capture the number of messages that were handled by OSB proxy/business service and specific details of how many successful and errored out. Please refer http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/operations/monitoring.html
    Hope this helps.

    Hi Timo,
    I have read this blog carefully, but still my problem is unresolved. I have to save file to location on Submit button in popup. I am not able to get example how to do so, that on Submit button I should move the file to file server.

    Backing Bean:
    public void uploadFile(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent) {
    // Add event code here...
    System.out.println("fileUpdate invoked");
    UploadedFile file =(UploadedFile)valueChangeEvent.getNewValue();
    if(file!=null){
    FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    FacesMessage message = new FacesMessage(
    "Successfully uploaded file " + file.getFilename() +

    I have the same problem when trying to run a project created in 10.1.3.2 with 10.1.3.1
    I guess it's not downward compatible. It might seem silly trying to do this, but after testing I found that I can work around a bug in 10.1.3.1, something that doesn't work (anymore) in 10.1.3.2....
    I don't know yet how to fix it....
    [Update:] I created a new Application in 10.1.3.1 (BC and JSF in my case) en copied the jar files I got in the WEB-INF/lib into the app I made in 10.1.3.2. and voila, problem solved.

    Murali,
    Great suggestion. I found that after adding a host one has to run AutoConfig on Database Server and bounce the TNS Listener. I will read manuals to find out how to do that, but it will be great if someone can point me to where I can find that information quickly. Better still, if someone has instructions on how to do both, that will save a lot of time.
    Thank you.

    Why this situation is possible? Why weblogic doesn't see this param is web.xml?

  • Oracle.adf.view.faces.model classes and serializable

    Some (most?) classes in oracle.adf.view.faces.model - e.g., ChildPropertyTreeModel - are not serializable. If these objects are given the "session" scope, this causes problems. For instance, in a clustered environment with failover/load-balancing, session attributes must be serialized to be replicated to all cluster members. Adding one of these object to the session causes the serialization - and therefore the replication - process to fail. Does anybody know why these classes are not marked as serializable?
