Oracle documentation for patch & update

I'm just learning to make a focused and rapid search.
Someone could help me on find in the oracle documentation, given an instal baseline where i find the patchset that should i apply on?
Or how i should set my search to find it.
thanks

Your question is not clear for me, but you can find all the last available patchset (except the last 10.2.0.3) :

  • Oracle Documentation for DBMS Packages

    Hello guys,
is there any documentation for all dbms packages?
    I found the following link:
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14117_01/appdev.101/b10802/toc.htm
But this is only for application developing. For example, there is the dbms_system package missing.
I hope there is anywhere an overview over all packages and procedures... i searched today for an pl/sql procedure to set events in specified session... it took a long time until i found dbms_system for that...
Maybe you can help me and give me a link....
    I would really be glad...
    Thanks :)
    Regards
    Stefan

Many websites and Metalink provide some documentation about the packages.Yeah of course... but no central index or content, which describes the whole packages...
Ok so i will have to search with google and hope someone has documented his activities...

  • Oracle documentation for Installation for Oracle Grid Infrastructure

    Hi
I want to install 11g Release 2 "Oracle Grid Infrastrucure" on Aix system without Cluster/RAC option. The requirement is to configure ASM on an Standalone system without any Cluster and RAC. Is there any documentation available for this installation.
I have already checked the below link which provide information on Installation for Oracle Grid Infrastructure for a Cluster.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e10814/toc.htm
Please let know if there is any documentation for Installation for Oracle Grid Infrastructure for a standalone system.

Hi there. Well, the installation of Grid Infrastructure would ask you that what kind of installation you want to do, single instance or cluster? If you would choose single instance installation, it would not be much different from doing any other oracle installation. The key factor to do it and why its mandatory is because from 11.2 onwards, ASM can't be managed from DBCA but from its own tool only, ASMCA and that runs from Grid Home. So I don't think that not finding the docs should be a show stopper for you. I haven't done it on AIX so I am not sure that I can be of some help about it. I have done it on OEL 5 and it didn't throw any issues for me.

A critical patch for OWSM has been released that may be required if you have applied the 10.1.3.3 Patch Set on the 10.1.3.1 product install.
Get full details about the one-off patch here.

    Hi Vikas,
I just went through your blog dated october '07.
Can you please elaborate on the three points mentioned there.
    As stated by you:
1)Register web service in the gateway (e.g. SID0003001)
    2)Register callback in the gateway (e.g. SID0003002)
3)Add XML transform step in policy pipeline for SID0003001 that transforms ReplyTo WS-Addressing header to SID0003002
    My stand:
I have successfully done step number 1.
I am not sure what step number 2 means.
Regarding the .xsl file this is my .xsl file.

  • How to use Multiple Homes on Windows Box for patching

Reading an Article by Arup Nanda 04.23.2007 talks about using multiple oracle homes for patching. We've installed oracle again and now have 2 Oracle Homes (db_1 and db_2). If I look at my service startup for the database I see this:
    c:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\bin\ORACLE.EXE TestDB.
If I try and start my database out of the db_2 install I'l receive errors about the init file not being located in the db_2 location. Should I copy all my files from db_1 over to db_2?
    thanks.

I'l receive errors about the init file not being located in the db_2 locationYes, of course. Otherwise the Oracle Home will never know the location of the init.ora at the old location.

  • How to set notification for latest patch updates from Oracle?

Is there a link to receive notification from Oracle about the latest patch updates on OBIEE or BI Apps?

    Hi Tugdual,
Thanks for your great information. With your information i was resolve my one problem.
But however i have one more problem my application uses jni dll file called webcomponentjni.dll.
In 10.1.2 there was a option in OC4J Containers property
OC4J Container -> Administraton -> Server Property Page -> Environment Variables when i add path to the location of my webcomponentjni.dll it used to work fine.
But in 10.1.3 i don't have that option so i have added in opmn.xml file as follows
-Djava.library.path=<location> but it is not working.
When i try to browse the application it is giving the following error
Message:WCA startup failed with the following message: no webcomponentjni in java.library.path
Have you encountered such problems so far.

  • Oracle Critical Patch Update July 2009 for Oracle BEA Releases

    Hi All,
Researching in metalink about CPU's for WLS 9.1 I found Oracle Support Note #835668.1. Table 9 of this document
lists minimum product requirements for WebLogic server.
According to this table WLS 9.1 should have a minimum version of 9.2MP3.
I am confident that WLS 9.1 and WLS 9.2 are completely different WLS versions and there is no upgrade path from WLS 9.1 to WLS 9.2.
Is this table misprinted or is it required to replace all WLS 9.1 installations with WLS 9.2 installations?
What is this table trying to indicate?
    Please assist.
    It would be very helpful.
    Thanks.

Oracle Critical Patch Update fix a list of bugs , oracle will release CPU in every three months interval.
you need to click the link which oracle has sent.
then choose your database version===then select the patch number===then on metalink download the patch
with patch there is read me file which tell you how to apply the patch on the database.

    Hi,
I have Oracle 9i application server release 1.0.2.2.2. I work on aix 5.3 and i've installed oracle server release 3. In Oracle 9iAs i need to work with oracle forms 6i and reports 6i.

What is Oracle server release 3? Application server 1.0.2.2.2 is desupported now, it worked in the past with server release 9.2. Certification matrix on metalink shows a lot of necessary additional steps (OS patches and software patches) to be done. Metalink is also the place for Oracle software patches, OS patches come from IBM.
OS dumps (but for pre-6i versions) are documented in metalink note
