Oracle drive Advanced Properties...

I have installed Oracle drive on my desktop and using that I am able to access my content server.
But when I right click on the file in content services using oracle drive I have certain options displayed one of them is the "Advance Properties". I want to explore these features. On clicking this I am getting a message "Advanced Properties is not supported by this server" what is to be done on my server to support the advanced features.

Please note the currently Oracle Drive is supported only with Oracle Content Services server. So it cannot be used with a generic WebDAV server.

  • Problem with Oracle Drive Advanced Properties

I was able to successfully set up Oracle Drive however I can’t use any of the advance features such as “set properties” and “change access control lists”. When I right click on a file I get an option for Advanced Properties but when I click on that selection I receive a message “Advanced Properties is not supported by this server.” This would be a big help to many of our users so any troubleshooting tips would be much appreciated.

We are using Portal version 10.1.2. We were able to get the options when we signed in a as the Oracle Admin but we don’t want the users to have that kind of access.

  • JBoss Can't find Oracle Driver

    Hello, everyone,
I'm hoping someone can help me.
I've created a small web service. I have one method which returns something very straight forward, and it works fine.
I have then progressed this to try to return some data from an Oracle table.
However, when I try to do this, I get an error back saying that the Oracle Driver can not be found.
I am using JBoss, and am running this in Eclipse's Web Service Explorer.
The things I have tried to solve the issue are:
    - Ensuring the Oracle driver is located in Windows>Preferences>General>Data Management>Connectivity>Driver Definitions
    - Placing the Oracle driver jar in as many lib folders in my JBoss directory on my C drive as possible (I may have missed some out).
I am not sure what else to try. Please can someone help me or point me in the right direction?
Any help would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance.
    Robin

You have to put the path of the driver jar file on server.xml file. If you open up the server.xml file inside the config directory of the appserver instance you will find all the paths are added to <java-config java-home = tag. So place the path in this place. Then there should not be any problem getting the driver.
    Thanks

  • Oracle Drive specific features not working

I have set up Oracle Drive against two 10gR2 instances. Both of them fail with different messages.
There are no issues with MS Web Folders, also most of this functionality works in Oracle Drive.
When I try to use Drive specific functionality like "set properties", this fails with following messages.
    1. One of them fails with HTTP-404 after using machine name in the URL as opposed to using Virtual Host name
    2. Second one fails with similar error message but this is missing virtual host name or server name in the URL.
I can't find any Oracle Drive logs to debug. So, my questions are ..
    1. how can I debug Oracle debug?
    2. Does Oracle drive support virtual host?
    3. If so, why is the above behaviour
Users are keen to use Oracle Drive. So, any help (ASAP) would be appreciated.

    Hi Christian,
Sorry I didn't get back to you so far. I just noticed that this account is using old email address and I didn't recieve any update when you replied.
Here are some answers to your questions.
    0) Bye the way one of the servers works now after recent portal repository copy (ptlconfig was run as part of it)
    1) I tested view page, access control and set properties options. All of these fail.
    2) I was looking for log files in the wrong place. Found them now and from the logs, it looks like one of the sites is not getting proper values for OPTIONS query.
Here is the reply from server that works.

  • Oracle Drive, dav_portal and accents

    Hi everyone.
I am using the DAV protocol to have access to some of my documentation in Portal.
The thing is when I use some accent in the archives names like "documentaciónuno.doc" and try to access to the DAV with Oracle Drive, the archive is listed like "documentaciónuno" and wont let me even open it. If I try to open it, word say something like there is an error opening the file.
Any idea why is this happening?

I have the exact same problem on Oracle Portal 10.1.4 while I'm using Windows XP. I never had the webdav problem when I was using Windows 2000/NT on older versions of the portal. There is a note on Metalink (Note:338932.1) that seems relevant to this issue but I haven't been able to try WebDAV while using a different OS than Windows XP to confirm that is the bug I've encountered. The solution in that note says "Wait for the bug fix (no earlier than Portal 11.0) OR Use a client other than Windows XP."
I found another note (Note:367860.1) with the solution being to install and use the Oracle Drive client. Did that, and still got an "Error 5: Access is denied" alert when trying to add a file to a plain portal page with NO tabs and a single Items region that allows users to add content to it. Next, under that page's properties on the Items tab, in the Default WebDAV Types section, changed Default Regular Files to Simple File and tried adding a file using WebDav and ta-daaaa! It worked. However, I don't want to use the Simple File item type, I want to use the regular File!!! And yes, I have made some customizations to the File item (changed defaults, re-order attributes, etc.) Not sure what to do next. Any ideas???

You need to specify your classes in the persistence.xml by adding the following after the provider-tagTrue...providing they are not already in the same deployment unit (the jar with persistence.xml in it) as they will be automagically registered with the PU.Not with Hibernate as far as I know, or it requires an additional setting in persistence.xml or something (I am not so well-versed in JPA / Hibernate)

I am having some issues with connecting to Apex Listener via SQL Developer. I get "cannot connect to connection" when I attempt to connect.
I do get apex pages (when I use the Glassfish default port - it doesn't seem to take the specified port which is defined as 7788 in the apex.properties at the config.dir location). The port specified in apex.properties is only used by Standalone Mode, the port that GlassFish uses is configured by GlassFish, not Listener.
I have defined the user via the war config (which is written to the credentials file), and added the users under default config > file realm in Glassfish. You only need to do the former, doing the latter should have no effect, I would remove the user in the GlassFish file realm, to avoid causing confusion.
I wonder if anyone has had a similar issue?
Ensure you have spelt the role name correctly when setting up the user, any typos (it is case sensitive) and it won't match the role, and will therefore refuse access.
You have disabled SSL verfication as well? (If you are not using SSL)
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37099_01/doc/doc.20/e25066/install.htm#CHDJFAAI
If neither of those work, try turning on logging in the Listener to see if the request is even reaching Listener (It sounds like it's not even connecting TBH).

  • JDBC 2/Oracle driver problems

    Hello,
I am trying to use use JDBC 2 features on an oracle 8 database. I was told that this was possible as long as i used the correct driver (Oracle 8.1.6). I have downloaded this driver, added it to the projects library's, changed JDevelopers IDE Classpath to point to "classes12.zip".
However when i try to set up a simple connection to the database i get errors, but when i switch back to the old oracle driver (8.1.5) it works ok). Below is the code that i use to connect to the DB:
    try
    DriverManager.setLogWriter(errorOut);
    DriverManager.registerDriver (new
    oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
    con = DriverManager.getConnection
    (url,"cdr","test");
    System.out.println("Coneecting to db using

    Hi,
Sorry, I didn't look closely enough at your error stack. The problem appears to be with the Blob class. This class has moved from classes12.zip.
In the Oracle JDBC Developer's Guide and Reference docs (8.1.6), there is a section on upgrading from JDK 1.1.x to JDK 1.2:
Migration from JDK 1.1.x to JDK 1.2.x
The only migration requirements in going from JDK 1.1.x to JDK 1.2.x are as follows:
Remove your imports of the oracle.jdbc2 package, as discussed above under "Datatype Support".
Replace any direct references to oracle.jdbc2.* interfaces with references to the standard java.sql.* interfaces.
Type map objects (for mapping SQL structured objects to Java types), which must extend the java.util.Dictionary class under JDK 1.1.x, must
implement the java.util.Map interface under JDK 1.2.x. Note, however, that the class java.util.Hashtable satisfies either requirement. If you used
Hashtable objects for your type maps under JDK 1.1.x, then no change is necessary. For more information, see "Creating a Type Map Object and Defining
    Mappings for a SQLData Implementation".
If these points do not apply to your code, then you do not need to make any code changes or recompile to run under JDK 1.2.x.

  • IBot Advanced Properties - Filters

    Hi,
I've been trying to implement bursting, passing a filter from a master ibot of end users and a filter attribute, for example end user branch, to a content ibot which is branch sales. The idea being the master ibot returns each branch manager and his/her store, the content ibot filters a store sales report for that store and emails the result. Im using SA System area to get the branch managers and their branch names.
I've been trying to implement what is described in the bookshelf here :
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12103_01/books/AnyUser/ibotadvanced.html
I know its an older version of SA in that bookshelf the but the functionality seems to be there in my release 10.1.3.4
The ibots run OK, and the emails are sent, but all users in the master ibot are receiving an un-filtered report, even though in my advanced properties im passing the branch name through to the other report, the logical SQL I see in the session manager doesn't seem to reflect a filtered report either.
Has anybody successfully implemented such a report bursting solution ? I've got 'is prompted' on the branch sales report, and even the user recipient report - Just cant seem to spot why its not getting passed.
    Thanks in advance.

OK, but re-reading your post I think there problem is that you are not doing it correctly. I don't think you need any master iBot here. In your Answers query simply user the USER session variable to filter all the stores for each user by User ID. If you can't get this in your master query then create another Answer query that gets this data and then use an Advanced Filter in your master Answers query that filters on another Answer query (Advanced => Filter based on results of another request). As you have correctly set the iBot to "Personalized" the iBot will run as each user which means your filter on the USER session variable will get populated correctly the list of stores the user has access to and the users will be able to see their own data only.

  • Oracle Drive for Mac?

    Hello everybody.
I know there's no supported Oracle Drive client for Macintosh, but is there any way to use this feature? I mean, like Oracle Messenger: we can use iChat (jabber protocol) to connect to an Oracle Messenger server.
Is there any way to connect to Oracle Content Services, emulating the Oracle Drive on the Mac?
    Thanks in advance.
    Carlos

Thanks. Could you please give me an example? Lets suppose my IP address is 200.220.162.122, and the port is 7778.
    Should I put 200.220.162.122:7778/webdav?
I just could not make it work yet...
    Thanks in advance

  • Oracle drive and oradav - ORA-20504: User not authorized to perform the req

Anyone have any idea why we may not be allowed to copy files to portal?
We have checked the edit region to allow all files, quota is unlimited and we're using portal as a priviledged user (manage) for the page group.
For some reason we are globally blocked from copying files to /dav_portal/portal.
    Any suggestions?

  • Ref_cursor -procedure does not work for Microsoft ODBC for oracle driver

    Hi,
I have a stored procedure to retreive record set values from db.
so i used PL/SQL table type. that is
type tt1 is table of ........
but if i replaced the table type with ref_cursor i get an ODBC error :
"ODBC driver does not support the requested properties.--2147217887".
The problem is i get a connection string from other module and i cannot change the connection string.
So is there a way to get it working the ref_cursor using "Microsoft ODBC for Oracle" driver.
    Thanks

    Babu,
Not sure, a quick Google indicates it should work (given you're using the correct syntax of course :-) )
Have you tried the Oracle ODBC driver? Are you using the latest version(s)?
Of course you're likely to have much more luck if you post this question in the ODBC forum :-)
    ODBC
    Cheers,
    Colin

  • Is Oracle Drive 10.2.0.0.5 is certified with MS Office 2007?

    Hi,
I would like to know whether Oracle Drive 10.2.0.0.5 is certified with MS Office 2007. Also, please do provide reference to documentation available on
    Oracle Drive.
Using Office 2007 with Oracle Drive causes problems saving files. Saving a new file to ODrive using any Office 2007 application (i.e. Excel) returns error "There was a problem renaming Book1.xlsx. Error 2. The system cannot find the file specified". However, the file is saved correctly anyhow. The second thing we realized is, that, when working with Office 2007 on files several .tmp file are created. These files are sometimes not deleted after the application is closed leaving many such tmp files on ODrive. Furthermore it seems that often the file lock is not removed in Oracle.
    Please provide your valuable suggestions.
    Thanks in advance.

It looks like it's still not certified. I was just on Metalink yesterday, and it still lists Office 2003 as the latest version that's certified with ODrive.
