Oracle Drive & Managing access right

I wonder if there's possible to manage access rights to others OID users or groups vi ODrive
?

There is an 'Advanced Properties' option in the right click menu that will launch a dialog that allows you to set security and manage metadata of documents, and allows you to set policies (versioning, metadata, workflow etc) and set the security of folders,
hoep that helps,

  • Management Access Rights from non global Zone

We have a Sun Cluster 3.2 on Solaris 10. The Managed Resources are Solaris Zones:
    e.g Resgroup xx
    - xx-hasp (Storage for the Zone Root)
    - xx-lh (the Service Address for the zone)
    - xx-sczbt (the Zone boot Resource)
    - xx-sczsmf (a managed SMF Service in the Zone)
How do i allow an arbitrary non root user or group inside the zone xx allow to disable the monitor of the resource xx-sczsmf so he can for example perform maintenance on it?
    I have a few restrictions:
    - the user has no account in the global zone
    - the user may be allowed to manage all resources which belong to his zone
    - the user is not allowed to manage any resource of another zone.
I guess solaris.cluster.resource.admin will not do the trick :-(
    Fritz

Well, seems I have to use the same 'hack' i used for a SC 3.1.
Create a user in the global zone which has exactly the allowed rights (with a Role)
    Assign it a public key
Give the users which are allowed to perform this operation the matching private key, so they can execute the command over ssh in the global zone.
Not very elegant, but fulfills all my requirements.

  • Mounted drives security access rights

    Hi!
I am troubleshooting mounted volume security access issues on Server 2012 R2 and created a test folder "test adm_fla", and mounted a small disk to it to test adding permissions. See image below: (taken from the Security tab on the folder "test
    adm_fla")
On the other hand, if I look at the Properties of the mounted volume (from the General tab on the test adm_fla folder) and the Security tab, this is what I see:
Why are not the TendSign permissions I set manually listed here? I thought they would be "linked"/added automatically somehow
The issue is actually that, according to the customer, manual TendSign... permissions we have specified as inhereted on all folders, suddenly get removed, and we don't know why. These TendSign volumes are replicated to another server.
Has anybody had this issue before?

    Hi,
The mounted volume is placed in an empty folder of the host NTFS volume. The empty folder inherits permissions from the Root volume. But the explicit permissions on the mounted volume don’t propagate across the root volume.
For more detailed information about the permissions on root volume, mounted volume, mounted volume link folders, you could refer to the article below:

  • Is there a way (any way) to get a simplified oracle driver?

I'm a newbie on a Oracle DB world and I need to give users a Oracle driver to access Oracle 8.1.7 database by windows ODBC.
It said that one must install oracle client (a 220M big guy). I would like to know is there a way, (any way) to give users (who did not install any oracle software before) a simplified oracle driver? What I need is the most basic functionality (only support Windows ODBC to access the oracle database is enough, I need not the tools and other things).

If you install MDAC (downloadable from Microsoft) you will get Microsoft's ODBC driver for Oracle.
Another thought is to try doing a custom install of the Oracle Client, and see if you can choose ODBC only, but I don't know if this is possible.

  • Oracle access manager: "You do not have sufficient access rights."

    Hi gurus,
I'm doing self training on OAM, following an exercise I installed OAM and
created a couple of Master Admins.
Everything seams to work except the fact that this admins are not allowed
to create users/orgs/groups and get the message "You do not have sufficient access rights".
I may have missed something during the setup, however the question is: how can I recover this situation? How I can give more privileges to those admins?
I tried to create a policy in directory server, without success.
    Please, help.
    Thank you very much.

You will need to create a create user Workflow.
Out of the box OAM does not know which attibutes to create for your user.
Use the quickstart tool as follows

    thanks & regards.

The error message "[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified {IM002}" is self explainind - DG4ODBC is not able to find the ODBC DSN you created.
In your gateway init file you configured the DSN: HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = testmysql
And according to the Windows ODBC Admin screenshot you created a DSN called testmysql - unfortunately you created it as a USER DSN. But DG4ODBC needs a SYSTEM DSN. The reasin why it needs a system DSN is that by default the Oracle listener is running in the local system account. So when you create an ODBC USER DSN it can be access by the user who created it, but nobody else can use it - also not the local system account which is serving the Oracle listener. So you need to create a system DSN that every user on this machine can use the DSN (including the local system account) .

  • How to define a new user in Enterprise manager with Specific access rights?

    Hi,
I want to create a new user in OEMS 11g who should be able to access only the scheduler jobs section.
    How can this be acheived?

You can create new administrators via the Setup --> Administrators page
You can grant certain access rights to targets, you can not however grant priv to only access the job system
    Take a look at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11857_01/em.111/e14586/security3.htm#sthref235

  • WindowsXP (HVM, PV Driver) can't shutdown/reboot by Oracle VM Manager 3.0.3

I install a virtual machine (Windows XP SP3) as HVM/PV withOracle VM Windows Paravirtual (PV) Drivers 3.0.1.
Oracle VM Manager 3.0.2 can shutdown / reboot the virtual machine with PV driver, but Oracle VM Manager 3.0.3 can not do that.
Also when I install the Oracle VM Windows Paravirtual (PV) Drivers 3.0.1 to Windows XP SP3, the virtual machine has two NICs.
One is "Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC", and the other one is "ORacle VM Virtual Ethernet Adapter".
Both NIC are connecting the VM Network.
I think when the PV drivers installed to the virtual machine, the original NIC should be disapper.
    Does anybody has same problem?

    Yes. I tried two ways as below;
    1) I made the virtual machine as "HVM" mode, then I install Windows XP SP3,.
After installed OS I installed the PV drivers, then I shutdown the virtual machine and I switched the mode to "HVM with PV Drivers", and booted it.
    2) I made the virtual machine as "HVM with PV Drivers" mode, then I install Windows XP SP3.
After installed OS I installed the PV drivers, and rebooted it.
Both of them I can't shutdown the virtual machine from Oracle VM manager.
I can see these Oracle VM devices in device manager, "Oracle VM Virtual Disk Controller", "Oracle VM Virtual PCI Bus", "Oracle VM Virtual SCSI Disk Device","Oracle VM Virtual Ethernet Adapter".
And "Oracle VM Service" is installed as Windows service and running.
The "Oracle VM Virtual Ethernet Adapter" can connect my VM networks without problem.
I think Oracle VM 3.0.2 does not have this kind of problems.
My oracle VM 3.0.3 are not upgraded from 3.0.2. It is fresh.

  • Oracle VM Manager 3.0 - Virtual Machine Console Access

Does anybody else out there seem to have problems launching the console to get into a VM Guest? When we do, we get the login screen and then nothing. It doesn't appear to be firewall related. We had similiar issues in 2.2.
    Any tricks on this?

We had similiar issues in 2.2.There is no direct VNC access between your client and the Oracle VM Servers any more. Ensure you have port 15901 open from the client desktop to the Oracle VM Manager machine and that you have all the VNC ports open from Oracle VM Manager to the Oracle VM Servers. We now proxy VNC via the Manager for improved security and simpler configurations.
Also, you will still need to install the tightvnc-java RPM separately, as described in the documentation, to ensure the Java VNC console is installed. This needs to be installed on your Oracle VM Manager server.
