I did see the adgrants.sql after the patch installation and ran it, but AD patch had some errors. One of them about not being able to generate the jar files. I ignored it and chose to continue, thinking that I can generate them with adadmin utility later. Adadmin failed with the following error message:

When l looked it up in Metalink, I found this document

stating that "JRE 1.1.8 and java 1.3.1 are not certified on Red Hat or Oracle Enterprise Linux 5." It also directs me to upgrade it by following one these documents:

Would it be enough to upgrade it to version 1.4.2? Because the minimum patch levels for the other versions (J2SE 5.0 and 6) are much higher than what I have.

Hoe to solve "IE 8 stop working on Oracle E-bussiness suite ".

Oracle stop working on new IE 8 on Windows 7 . If using Windows XP no problem. Anyone know how to solve this error ?
The Error is running until after user login to the E-bussiness Suite , then user need to select other selection. Once select the selection then new window will pop up then the error message will show " Internet Explorer has stop working ".

Oracle Reports is developed with Reports Builder. There is no equivalent design time for this tool in Oracle JDeveloper. The best place to learn how (and which version of) JDeveloper can be used in the context of E-Business Suite is one of the Oracle Applications forums (like OA Framework) here on OTN.

Need help in creating script for "Task Schedule" in Oracle E-Bussiness Suit

Hi,
I need some urgent help regarding the scripting of Oracle E-Business Suite application. I am new towards working on Oracle Applications. I have been using LoadRunner 11.0 and protocol oracle applications 11i for the scripting of the application. The problem is as follows:
Scenario- Schedule an incident to a resource.
1) Log in to the application.
2) Open Oracle Forms Page.
3) Enter the details of the incident number.
4) Right click on the incident number and then select “schedule” option.
5) Check / Select the resource listed in the new form.
6) Click on “schedule” Button.
7) Exit the oracle forms.
8) Logout from the application.
I have recorded the scenario but when I try to run the script, it fails after completing the 4th step from the scenario mentioned above. I have done all the required co-relations..
Another issue that I have noticed in the scipt is that it records a lot of requests to the AppsTCFServer.
When I check the Tree View of the script, I have found that there are around 25 requests to the AppsTCFServer recorded in the script. In the header of these requests a TCF Start/Session number gets generated randomly. This number stays the same in few AppsTCFServer request headers and then a new number gets generated and the cycle continues.
However LoadRunner does not generate this number by itself during replay. I cannot find this number in any previous responses.
In the last few days, I have tried my hands on Oracle Openscript tool to record the above scenario, but still I am getting the same problem, i.e instead of getting the correct response from the server for the AppsTCFServer requests, I am getting the message "X-session 7098.... not found - aborting ".
I get this message whether I use LoadRunner tool or the OpenScript tool.
Please help me solve this issue.

This isn't much of a "code-sharing" site but a "knowledge-sharing" site. Code posted me may be from a questioner who has a problem / issue / error with his code. But we don't generally see people writing entire scripts as responses to such questions as yours. There may be other sites where you can get coding done "for free".
What you could do is to write some of the code and test it and, if and when it fails / errors, post it for members to make suggestions.
But the expectation here is for you to write your own code.

it is possible to use oracle e bussiness suite user name and password to login oracle BI PUBLISHER SERVER.??
we are using 11.1.1.6.0 OBIEE and R12 (12.0.6) e business suite.

Using "@" in a password for a DB User is not supported at all (allthough it works).
I did so myself once and I think it was possible to get a connection utilize quotes,

My be toy around with this, but more easy is to use brtools and change the

Oh, and for executing brtools, do not provide a user at all or only "-u /"
This should do a sysdba connect.

How to install E-bussiness suite with out creating the database?

We are planning to Migrate our Single node Tru64 E-bussines suit installation to multi node IBM-AIX (DB Node) and Sun Solaris(APPL_TOP)
We are thinking to follow below step
1) Install E-Bussines suit with out Oracle Database( Only Oracle DB sotware and Apps Filesystem need to be installed) -- IBM AIX (DB Node) & Sun Solaris (APPL_TOP)
2) Migrate current Oracle DB on Tru64 into IBM AIX using transportable Tablespace method
It is ok to follow this approach?

It is ok to follow this approach? 1) What about the patches you have applied since the time of the installation? Doing a fresh installation will not include these patches.
2) The supported method to migrate an Oracle Apps database between two Operating Systems which are not binary compatible is by using export/import. I believe transportable Tablespace has some limitations and would not work for such migration.

We are on the way to implement it but I haven't find information related with the sizing

Sizing as follows - for 11i :
ON HP 9000/800 + HPUX 11 + Dual PA RISC 440 MHz + 2 G RAM
I run both PROD and TEST succesfully for 100 users
For one install you will need :
40 G of initial space => you will be in need for at least 70 G per installation for data growth in short term
You will need 1G ram
You will need processor for every 70 users

We want to know how good or bad is OVM with oracle e-business suite in production environment, and if anybody is working on production environment with the similar configuration in Production environment then please share your experience with us

Hi Sharukh,
Virtualization of course the trend in modern era, and I personally advice you to have a thorough testing on performance and specifically simulate workloads and check the behavior. I don't personally go on to support Virtualization on Production environment as it incurs additional cost like CPU usage, memory usage borrowed by other environment being virtualized. And as it does not directly work with the hardware. May be some will be against this point, but I see as if it incurs additional resources. Being said this, I am not completely against Virtualizationas long as it is not a heavy 24/7 environment. I would go on to support the ideology, saying it's best to choose the right technology to right environment.

Rapis Marts Oracle e-Business Suite R12

Hi all,
A customer has currently deployed the following Rapid Marts for Oracle e-Business Suite 11i:
HR u2013 Human Resources
PO - Procurement
AP u2013 Accounts Payable
GL u2013 General Ledger
But they are going to migrate EBS to Oracle e-Business Suite 12i (R12).
Does anyone now, for each of the Rapid Marts if they will be compatible or if a new hotfix or upgrade to a new version of RapidMarts (XI 3.2) is needed?

Not sure is it still useful for you or not as it's seems to be quite late. But any way, I have recently did a POC for Oracle EBS R12 for AP Rapid Mart. The Rapid Mart Version that I have used was 11.5.3.0, it went fine but of course you have go for few configuration changes and that's it.

Migrating Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10.2 from Linux 32-bit to Linux 64-bit

Hello Experts.
We have to do R12 upgrade.
Currently:
database (11.2.0.3) running on RH5 64 bit
apps (11.5.10.2) running on RH5 32 bit (separate machines, of course)
Plan:
migrate db and apps tiers to separate 64bit RH6 machines
then migrate again to a shared machine
then upgrade to R12
I know that 11.5.10.2 is not supported on 64 bit so is this plan fatally flawed, or is it do-able?

You are right, Oracle EBS 11i is not certified on Linux 64-bit for the application tier node -- Frequently Asked Questions: Oracle E-Business Suite Support on x86-64 (Doc ID 343917.1)
You can lay down R12 apps tier node directly on 64-bit Linux since it is certified and continue with the upgrade.

Oracle 9i Developer Suite Student Registration

I can't install my Oracle 9i Developer Suite I received with my Guide to Oracle 9i book. The book instructs you to go to otn.oracle.com/books and click on the registration link for 9i, but there isn't one. There is a registration code listed there, but when I enter that code into the registration line in the setup wizard, the error message that returns states that the registration key is invalid. My instructor is at a loss, as are of my classmates. Help!

I'm having the same problem and there's nowhere to download the Oracle 9i Developer suite at the above posted link. We need to use this specific software for our course. The real kicker is that I have the CD's sitting right here and I can't use them because the provided registration key (orcl9iwdws) doesn't work. Rather than downloading the suite needlessly, is there any way someone could provide a registration key that actually works?

What kind of issue you have?
Commonly the custom_top is placed in the $APPL_TOP directory. In the context file located in $APPL_TOP/admin there is a pointer to a custom environment variable file (this also shows up in APPSORA.env). The context file points to a directory and filename, you will need to create the "custom" environment variable file there and then add whatever you want into it. This file that you create will not be touched by AutoConfig. Patches and upgrades should not affect the custom_top no matter where you put it.
