I try to find something on internet about upgrading Oracle EBS Database 11.1.0.7 to 11.2.0.2...
All i find is upgrade your oracle R12 ebs from 11.1.0.7 to 11.2.0.2.Can any one pls provide me some links or guidlines where i can do some search about upgrade our EBS database from 11.1.0.7 to 11.2.0.2.

Document Management System in Oracle EBS

HI All,
does the EBS offer a document management system where I can store, check in/check out, display... documents with meta data and also original files (like a pdf or word file)?
If something like this exists, what are the corresponding objects and is there also an API for it (pl/sql or even better, web service)?

It is possible to store documents/attachments in Oracle EBS database.

This does not look a real "Document Management System" with meta data, version control, status handling and all that stuff, right?

Integrating Oracle EBS with web services which use SAML authentication

Hi,
I have a requirement to invoke web service using PL/SQL from a Custom Form of EBS.
The web Service is configured to use SAML as authentication mechanism.
Coming to question!
1) How do I make my EBS integrate with a SAML provider preferably (Oracle Identity Federation) ?
2) How do i get the SAML token in my PL/SQL and pass it on to the web service?

Integrate source db with target EBS database using ODI

We have a requirement to integrate our legacy systems to Oracle E-business suite 12.1.1 database 10g. We have several MS-SQL and oracle databases that has to be integrate with our Oracle EBS database. Oracle says to have separate schema for Master and Work repository, and also create a new schema when connecting to the data store and use the same schema as a WORK SCHEMA when creating a physical schema. My question is:
1) What are all the privileges to be assigned to the new schema used as a WORK SCHEMA? Oracle EBS holds many FND schemas and APPS uses the synonyms of all the tables. So what oracle recommends when using EBS with ODI?
2) Do we need to create a separate work schema for each and every SOURCE Database as well?
3) We are not using separate oracle database for ODI we will be creating schemas in PROD to hold ODI data. Our management wants the the odi schema to hold the staging data. Can we use the the same Work schema mentioned in the first point as a staging area as well?

Hi Shahrukh ,
There are two ways.(1st one is recommended)
1.You can make source schema in one database and target schema, work schema in another database.
For source schema only read only access privilege.
You must have complete ownership in work schema and target schema(Minimum insert,update,delete).
Here you have to always create one work schema in every target database
2.if all schema present in 3 different database,you also need above criteria.
But here you don't have to create work schema always.its fixed.
This process takes much time for transformation and not an efficient way.

DIP 10g latest version (10.1.4.3) and DIP 11g up to PS4 / 11.1.1.5 Patchset releases integrations are certified with MS AD 2008 R1 only.
DIP 11g certification with AD 2008 R2 is supported only with DIP 11g PS5 / 11.1.1.6 Patchset or higher.
Note: Although DIP below 11.1.1.6 integration (synchronization, external authentication, etc.) with MS Windows / AD 2008 R2 may work, it is not officially compatible / certified. See also Note 1076018.1.

After installing we need to updrade the Database 9i to 10G R2. .
So instead on upgrading 9i to 10G R2 afterwords, Can we get the stage or software of Oralce EBS 11.5.10.2 with database 10g R2 from Oracle on Oralce Edelivery web site.

Oracle EBS Licencing w.r.t. Oracle Database

Hi Gurus,
I want to procure Oracle EBS R12 licences for development purpose for one of our client. Please suggest how to licence it?
1. Do I need to procure licence for Oracle Database Enterprise Edition if I am already procuring EBS Licences for few modules?
2. Can I continue with Oracle database Standard Edition for development purpose. In client's production environment, we have Oracle database Enterprise edition licences.
3. How to calculate bare minimum licences required for development purpose considering 10 users, 1 qaud core processors.

Thanks for info but I have gone through pricing PDFs but nowhere it is listed that do we need to buy Oracle Database EE licences if we are procuring licences for Oracle EBS R12. Because Oracle Database EE comes along with Oracle EBS R12 rapid install bundle but both product are different and for both different licencing is followed.
One more thing, we want to procure licences for development purpose and hence we did not have any oracle sales representatives with us. Please guide if we can have any other option.

Capture XML data payload into database table (Oracle EBS R12)

Hi All,
We have a XML Publisher report which generates output in PDF format. We want to capture the XML data payload generated by this report and put it into a DB table once the PDF is generated.
This report is generated through Oracle EBS R12 and XML Payload is stored by oracle by default in $APPLCSF/out directory.

Couple of options, this one is probably the easiest without knowing other requirements (e.g., do you have to store the output as XML, or do you just the data available so you can output in XML later?).
Capture the SQL statement that generates the output in the first place. If you have that statement, you can insert into some table using the select statement. Once you have the report data (and you can tag that particular set of data with a job ID, timestamp, whatever, in case you need to store it and distinguish it from other reports down the road), you can generate XML output using the PL/SQL built-in DBMS_XMLGEN.

Is the issue with this specific concurrent program?
Can you find any errors in the CM/OPP log files?

Upgrading ebs database from 10g to 11g

Hi,
By following Interoperability Notes Oracle EBS 11i with Oracle Database 11gR2 (11.2.0.1) [ID 1265268.1]
i am doing a test upgrade.
As part of upgrade, only the oracle home location is changed. sid, host and port all are same as previous.
After running dbua, for autoconfig, changing the OH path in xml file and run autoconfig is fine? or any other steps are needed?

Could you please tell us which step you are refering to in the document. During upgrade you do not have to change the ORACLE HOME any where in XML file
But you need to run perl adbldxml.pl
As mentioned in step 22 of "Interoperability Notes Oracle EBS 11i with Oracle Database 11gR2 (11.2.0.1) [ID 1265268.1]"
On application tier
Source the env file
$$ADPERLPRG $AD_TOP/bin/admkappsutilpl
Copy appsutil.zip to $ORALCE_HOME/.
Unzip –o appsutil.zip
cp –r $11g oracle home <which came with rapidwiz> $ORACLE_HOM/appsutil/jre
On the database tier
Source database env file
Export JRE_TOP=$ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/jre
$cd $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/bin
$perl adbldxml.pl
$sh adconfig.sh

Getting 404 error when trying to login to Oracle EBS page

Hi,
I had installed Oracle EBS 12.0.4 last year and everything was running fine until last week. Last week, we suddenly started seeing this issue - when trying to login to the Oracle EBS page, we are getting the 404 page not found error.
I have EBS installed on 2 VMs (virtual machines) - one VM has the application server and other VM has the database server. I logged on to the aplpication server to do some debugging and noticed 2 things ->
1.The Oracle Fullfillment service was not running. I started it, it was up for some time but then it stopped on its own. This happens everytime - after successfully starting the service, it shuts down after sometime. There is nothing in the event viewer except this message "The service may have terminated abnormally, please see the log file generated by the service for more details." I checked the log file, but there is nothing significant inside the log file. Maybe I need to increase the log level. Can any one tell me how can I do that?
2. Reviver.exe was crashing intermitently on the application server. I belive reviver tries to establish the connection between the application and database server after its broken.
So I am thinking now that maybe the connection between the app server and the database server is getting broken intermittenlty and this is the root cause of all the problems.
I dont know how to verify whethe my analysis is correct or not? And it it is, how to resolved it? Is there a setting or a configuration file in which you have to specify the database server details (ip address / host name etc). Can you tell me where can I find this setting?
Or culd there be something altogether different that is causing the page not found error?

The problem is partially solved - I am not getting the 404 error now. The issue was not with the netsvc file. Please see the resolution in NOTE:412980.1 (oafm,forms and oacore not starting up after IP adress change).
The OC4J services are imperative for any URL for java code. With just the Apache listener running, examples of URLS that will work are ->

Any URL for Java code will fail at this stage when OC4J services are down. For example this URL will fail: http://myHost.oracle.com:8000/OA_HTML/ServletPing.

Hi,
As you mentioned that you just upgraded the database, so the data is same and schema is same you can connect with the same work schema.
Yes, you can use the same contexts , but need to do Reverse Engineering for your new database.
And about data server, i think you also have no need to create new data server, if hostname,sid and port etc are same as these were with R11(consult with your DBAs regarding it)
