Oracle EBS virtual machine

Hello,
I am interrested to test Oracle EBS and evaluate its capabilities
Is there a virtual machine that hold the whole Oracle EBS and is downladable on the net
Thanks in advance

Is there a virtual machine that hold the whole Oracle EBS and is downladable on the netYou can download the software and arrange to do the installation so that you can evaluate it.

  • Oracle BPM Virtual machine

I recently downloaded and set up Oracle BPM virtual machine on 64 bit windows 7 enterprise edition.
When I started JDev 11.1.1.6 on virtual machine and tried to create BPM Project but it did not give me option to create BPM Projects. JDev 11.1.1.6 on virtual machine allows me to create BPM Project Templates etc instead of BPM projects where I was able to see this option on my local JDev 11.1.1.5.
Would like to know if this is a latest change in JDev features or is this some bug with the latest edition of virtual machine?

I am not sure about this but In also used to have a BPM suite with jdev on a linux VM. If this is the same one then it was only ever intended for workshops and the like and you will not get full functionality from the VM.

  • Oracle Linux virtual machines failing to boot

We have 2 oracle linux virtual machines on one host machine, both running Oracle Linux release 6 update 2 for X86_64. Both were built identically with oracle 11 installed on them. Both machines were working ok until this morning when the host machine rebooted. After the reboot, the virtual machines now hang during the boot process. The login prompt never comes up. The database does not start up on both machines. The machines are up enough that I could putty into them. In  startup.log, the following is listed for the two machines. One is named demo, the other test.

  • Is there a preinstalled/preconfigured Oracle VM (Virtual Machine) ?

I would like to play around with Oracle and in the past it has been a PITA to install it or set it up. Has Oracle created a developer version running on Linux that developers can use to learn how to interact with it?
    Thanks

Are you looking for a preconfigured version of Oracle Database? If so, then yes -- you can download preinstalled templates for Oracle VM from eDelivery for Oracle Database 10g and 11g.
If you're just looking for a database, why not try [Oracle XE|http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/xe/index.html]? Free to use and comes in a handy RPM format for EL-based distributions. Includes APEX as well.

  • Regarding architecture of oracle EBS

    I have the fallowing doubt,
While installing the EBS Forms and Webserver are on same node
I want to separate these two components. Please let me know how to proceed ?
Can any one explain why these two components should be on same node.

In Ahmed Alomari's last Open World Tuning E-Business Suite presentation, he claims forms servlet is 2X slower than socket forms for WAN users, and that the first thing we should all do after getting home form the conference is switch any servlet forms installs back to socket.

  • Oracle BigDataLite Virtual Appliance confirmation

I'm trying to follow the instructions for installing the
    Oracle BigDataLite Virtual Appliance
    Oracle BigDataLite Virtual Machine
    I'm running VirtualBox 4.3.6
    7-Zip 9.2
Running on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 SP1 with AMD FX 8120 with 16 GB (a stock aspire M3450)
And there seems to be a disconnect in the PDF for the quickdeploy, as if in the rush to create the quick deploy document something was left out, or the process was not tested before posting for download
    Specifically: from the PDF
After all zip files are downloaded, extract them with 7zip.
    In Windows:
Right-click on file BigDataLite-xxx.zip.001 file and select 7-zip->Extract Here
The extraction will create the BigDataLite-xxx.ova appliance file.
Well the above is NOT happening
First the files are named at OTN as
    BigDataLite-2.4.1.001
    BigDataLite-2.4.1.002
    BigDataLite-2.4.1.003
    BigDataLite-2.4.1.004
    BigDataLite-2.4.1.005
    BigDataLite-2.4.1.006
Not as the naming convention in the PDF documentation which is requesting a .zip.001 extension
Can someone run a confirmation that a ova file can be created?

    Thanks for replying:
I'm getting the correct checksum for 4-5-6
What seems to be happening is that I'm getting a bad download

I'm downloading "yet again", even if you did get good files then could you do me the favor of downloading any of the three and confirming the issue?
Possibly tossing a file in some dropbox app that works?
I hate asking, but what you got at dev-days on media might not be the same?
I'll give you a helpful for the response, but honestly I usually don't mess these things up, get to one reston way myself... and believe there is an issue
    But again thanks
    BigDataLite-2.4.1.004, BigDataLite-2.4.1.005, BigDataLite-2.4.1.006 were correct

  • Installing Oracle Apps on Linux Virtual Machine, but need patch "6078836"

    Hello Friend's,
    Hope you are doing well...!
I start my EBS Training in a functional role in less than 10 day's.
My dilemma is that i am having a heck of a time installing Oracle Apps on my machine. As recommended in many blogs, i've installed a virtual machine environment and then installed Linux Version 5 Update 5. Before i begins installing Oracle apps, the last step is to go to my oracle support "mos" and install patch 6078836, which i can't access. It seems to me as if that one should either have a paid oracle support account or be a part of an organization/company that has one. I can't get past the sign in page to install this patch and no where in these blogs does it say this.
Does anyone have this patch or has access to it or any knowledge or idea as to where can i find this?
As a back up i've started downloading Oracle apps for a windows server machine as well, in case i am unable to download this patch at least i have a back up. And the bad thing about this is the fact that i am in India and the bandwidth here sucks even with a 2 MB plan. With these speeds this 50 GB download will take another 3 to 4 days. And time is of the utmost importance for me right now..
Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated..
Thank you all in advance and hope that you have a great weekend..!

Does anyone have this patch or has access to it or any knowledge or idea as to where can i find this?Even though any of us has the patch we are not supposed to mail it as this violates Oracle support agreement policy.
There is no other source to get the patch and most Oracle patches (if not all) can be downloaded from MOS website.

    Hi,
You can install windows on Oracle VM Server, but no template with windows.
    - you should import the windows.iso file in the repository
    - create a VM with the type HVM or HVM, PV Drivers ...
    - Install a windows
I hope this can help you

  • Oracle tuxedo and Oracle tuxedo message queue on top of a virtual machine.

    Hi buddies.
    how is it going?
    A quick question.
So we are going to go live  using Oracle Tuxedo 12.1.1.0 with Distinguished Bulletin Board Liaison and Oracle Tuxedo Message Queue 12.1.1.0  on top of a Virtual Machine (VMWARE) running Oracle Linux 6.2. However we want to know if there are any recommendations or mishaps in which we may face ahead by running Oracle Tuxedo on a virtual machine?
I mean, I am wondering if I have to worry about kernel parameters, virtual machine parameters or any other thing from which could mess up everything.
    Another question.
Does oracle also provide virtual machines certification where Oracle tuxedo would run on top of ?
    Todd Little-Oracle
    Maurice G

    Hi Bruno,
I'm not sure what you mean with Distinguished Bulletin Board Liaison.  I'm guessing you mean a clustered or MP configuration?  And is it truly a clustered configuration or just a single machine MP configuration?
Regarding configuration, are you using Tuxedo services as well or just Tuxedo Message Queue?  The biggest issue related to OS configuration is around IPC resources.  If you do a tmloadcf -c on your UBBCONFIG file, it will help you determine the minimum IPC resources required.  In general I suggest configuring significantly more resources than the minimum to allow for future changes and for some of the parameters for heavier loads.  In particular IPC message queue parameters are heavily dependent upon load.  So make sure the maximum message size and queue size are large enough for your anticipated workload.  You can monitor them under load using the ipcs command.
We don't certify virtual machine environment but support them as long as the VM vendor assures compatibility, which obviously VMware and Oracle VM both do.
    Regards,
    Todd Little

  • Failed to query database in oracle virtual machine

Hello I am exposing a cloud service with WCF which is connected to the oracle database in a virtual machine on my machine if Client runs perfectly, but want to use the cloud service mark me the following error:
"An ExceptionDetail, likely created by IncludeExceptionDetailInFaults=true, whose value is:
System.ArgumentException: Unable to find the requested .Net Framework Data Provider.  It may not be installed.
       at System.Data.EntityClient.EntityConnection.GetFactory(String providerString)."
What I understand is some connection to Oracle, but that is not, alguine can help me.
    I am using Entity Framework.

    Hi,
From my experience, this thread seems more related with
the Entity Framework forum, but anyway, you should use a data provider that can handle EF in Oracle. There are couple of 3rd party data providers for oracle that support entity framework - devart, datadirect, and Oracle also has a new version of the
    ODP that supports EF.
You can see the list here:

Edited by: Rahul K on May 17, 2013 9:12 AMExactly like you would if that virtual Windows server were a physical server in your data center.
Install your client products, including the oracle client, on your host os.
Create a tnsames file that has an entry for the database on our virtual server.
Just like a real server, your vm must have a fixed IP address so that client processes will know how to find it.

  • Oracle 9i in a Virtual Machine

    Hello,
I installed Oracle 9i together with win2003 into a virtual machine (MS Virtual PC). The Database is working fine. The problem is, that I can't connect to Database in sql-plus from the PC who's hosting the virtual machine.
First it gave me the following errormessage: ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified (I hope the text is right, my database is in german)
After setting oracle_sid=<sid> it gave me this one: ORA-12560: TNS: Error within Protocoladapter (freely translated ;)
    Any hint's?
    Thanks for your help.
    Pat

    Hi Folks,
I have a 64 bit windows 7 OS and inside it i have an Oracle virtual machine installed (32 bit windows server edition service pack 2). I need to access the virtual machine's oracle from my host environment using sql developer ,toad ,pl sql developer and Sql* plus client (all installed in my windows 7 host 64 bit operating system).what should be the approach .
    Thanks

Edited by: Rahul K on May 17, 2013 9:12 AMExactly like you would if that virtual Windows server were a physical server in your data center.
Install your client products, including the oracle client, on your host os.
Create a tnsames file that has an entry for the database on our virtual server.
Just like a real server, your vm must have a fixed IP address so that client processes will know how to find it.

Thank you for the information. The link you have mentioned is about migration the environment of a machine to a VM. But i'm looking for migrating an Oracle Database 11g from a Physical Machine (Linux x86) to a Virtual Machine( Linux x86) created using Oracle VM. Can you help me out in this.
Thanks :)As far as I understand it this is not really VM related.
You have an existing linux machine .... uname -a ... with a partiocular OS and kernel and set of packages installed ....
And a guest VM running linux ... uname -a .... with hopefully the same/similar OS and set of packages installed, similar users, directory layout etc.
And you wish to get the Oracle (Classic RDBMS) home software cloned/migrated and an oracle database cloned/migrated.
There's a number of different senarios here ... can i help you out .... (the answer is I could but i dont have time).
The start point is good planning and careful notes if you are attempting to change any versions / layours etc.
You might have stages like (this is a top of head fagpacket and perhaps not best terminology):
    - Install basic Linux software on VM guest.
    - Install additional linux packages
    - create groups, users, directories, system parameters etc.
    - Create or clone oracle home.
    - clone oracle database by eg RMAN or otherwise.
Different forums may help different stages if necessary.
