Caused by: Incompatible 'Duplicate member name support' setting.

After importing the metadata , after validation and when I am trying to do the deployment, I got an error "Error adding Attribute to member A35027".
Then I changed the prpoerty of each dimension to "Allow duplicates in Dimension" and then changed the property of the application in OEPMS's outline to "Allow Duplicates in outline".

Why the latest versions of Firefox do not allow me to work with Oracle Enterprise Performance Management System?

I use the software Oracle Performance Management System (it is a platform web based pretty common in the finance dpts) for work and is impossible for me to log in using recent versions of firefox.
Every time I get an autoupdate I have to uninstall it and install the version 3.5.7.......... pretty frustrating.
If you can help me otherwise i will be constrained to change browser.

If you are going to install an older version of Firefox 3.5.*, it would be best to try 3.5.13 which is the latest 3.5 version of Firefox and has the latest security fixes. This is available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

Page display error - Oracle Enterprise Performance Management System Fusion

We run this via internet explorer
Our systems are Windows 7 and office 2010 & Internet Explorer 9 - Smart View version 11.1.1.3 500
One of the systems sometimes when refreshing the page / data the grid toolbar including the arrows and save button display over the top of the configured tabs
Has anyone else experenced this error, sometimes when going into the preferences will also hang that Internet explorer window

Installation problem with Siebel8.0 on Oracle Enterprise Linux 4 system

We are having installation problem with Siebel8.0 on Oracle Enterprise Linux 4 system.
Using interface, when installation come up to “Installing Wizard” window where Gateway Name Server Configuration window should take place, everything just freeze up

I'm facing the same error message while install Siebel 8.0 on OEL. But before I had this ksh problem, it complains about disc space first, and I actually has plenty of disk space under the directory (it needs only 0.7 G and I have 17G free). Anybody has encountered such problem before?

Oracle Enterprise Security Manager

Hi!
I have some problems with installing the Oracle Aplication Server Infrastructure 10g. I need to configure the Oracle Internet Directory. For this i did following steps:
1) Install the Oracle Aplication Server Infrastructure 10g, which include the OID
2) For the aplication server database configure a Oracle Context through the Net Configuration Assistant
3) Configure the database for using OID
4) Create user in the database that identified globally
After that i need to configure a Enterprise User in OID. For this i need Oracle Enterprise Security Manager. But ESM isn't installed with the Oracle Aplication Server.
What application includes Oracle Enterprise Security Manager?

What's version are you using?
Data Guard is very mature feature of Oracle 10g, since it first appeared in Oracle 8i in the form of Standby server.
Whatever bugs he experienced, he should work with Oracle support to fix it. It could be known bugs that already has a fix, it could be he didn't use the feature correctly and assume it's a bug, it could be a real undocumented bug.
Using his own stored procedure to monitor data guard like reinventing the wheel. Actually it's worse, what on earth is he thinking that he could out smart whole Data Guard team of Oracle :D

Integrate Siebel eService (8.0) with Oracle Enterprise Content Management

Oracle SQL Net Connect String is the entry in TNSNAME.ORA file which identifies your Oracle Database SID.
e.g.

Here, the Oracle SQL Net Connect String is: ORCL_SBA. Net Connect String is utilized to directly connect with the Database, without any Driver being interfaced in between.
While, ODBC DSN is a all together different stuff. You create ODBC DSN using "Data Sources (ODBC)" Utility under Administrative Tools. Here you need to specify a Driver to Connect to the Database, which should be the Siebel Oracle Driver Provided by DataDirect Technology.
Hope this clears your confusion.
Oracle SQL Net Connect String & ODBC DSN are two different stuff, used for different reasons.
As Robert said, you need to read the Installation Guide more thoroughly for understanding the nuances of Siebel Installation.

Dear Subramanian,
In the 'Old' appraisal (so using APPCREATE) system it worked that way:
If you want to appraise a group of employees in total then you can use the functionality of multisource appraisals (that will create one document with multiple appraisee)
If you want to appraise each employee individually then you have to do an appraisal for each employee.
An appraisal normally is very personal and individual, so there is no transaction creating appraisals as mass data.
Normally an appraisal is done between an employee and his manager. So for every employee an appraisal form is created by the manager.
Now with the new 'Objective settings and appraisal', you can create several documents (for a selection of employees) at the same time using transaction PHAP_PREPARE (but this is not availablewith the od system).

I have checked the Check box for Enterprise Asset Management product after I login through Oracle Applications Manager ->Site Map ->License Product.
As per one of the note, the below list of Reponsibilities will come by default.
a) Oracle Enterprise Asset Management
b) Maintenance User Workbench
c) Maintenance Super User
d) Self-Service Work Requests
e) Self Service Time and Expenses
But I can't see them after I did the check. So, I MANUALLY added the above list of responsibilities to my USER.
Please let me know, will this create any Impact ?

Microsoft ODBC Manager: System error 998

I've just installed Oracle 10.2.0 Enterprise Edition. I want to create a ODBC connection in microsoft ODBC manager but then appear following windows message:
"Cannot load oracle routines instalation of ODBC controller in OraDb10g_home1. System error 998"

This error code means this:
ERROR_BAD_EXE_FORMAT
193 (0xC1)
%1 is not a valid Win32 application.
If you are talking about ODBCAD32.exe, then it looks like the installation of the driver mis-registered a 32 bit driver ad 64 bit or vise-versa. It is trying to load either a 32 bit driver from the 64 bit version (C:\windows\system32\odbcad32.exe) or trying to load a 64 bit driver from the 32 bit version (C:\windows\syswow64\odbcad32.exe). As the driver listing is determined by registry keys that are set on installation of the driver, it is likely that the driver installer has a fault which is causing it to be mis-registered with ODBC.
I would take this up with Oracle from here, I suppose.
