Oracle Enterprise Single Sign On, multiple instances

Hi,
I am implementing Oracle eSSO 11g with AD in an org.
In the same org there is Oracle eSSO 10.1.+ version running on the same AD for a seperate set of groups.
- How should I go about with the installation can both versions of eSSO work with same AD ??
- Should the older version be removed and 11g installed ??
- Is there any migration document for this kind of change ??
Any help/ suggestions will be greatful... Thanks in advance.. :)

SSPR doesn't do that. You need OIM or some other product.

  • ApEx 2.1.0.00.39 as Partner Application in Oracle AS Single Sign-On

    Hi,
I've installed the last Application Express 2.1.0.00.39 (oracle-xe-10.2.0.1-1.0.i386.rpm and oracle-xe-univ-10.2.0.1-1.0.i386.rpm) but, when I try to "create an authentication scheme" for configure an ApEx application to use SSO under
    Home>Application Builder>Application xxx>Shared Components>Authentication Schemes>Create Authentication Scheme
in the second step of the procedure I don't find the choice "Oracle Application Server Single Sign-On (Application Express engine as Partner App)".
    I found only these:
    - Show Built-In Login Page and Use Open Door Credentials
    - Show Login Page and Use Application Express Account Credentials
    - Show Login Page and Use Database Account Credentials
    - Show Login Page and Use LDAP Directory Credentials
    - No Authentication (using DAD)
even if under the help voice "V Information" the others two are describes:
Oracle Application Server Single Sign-On (Application Express engine as Partner App) delegates authentication to the Oracle Application Server Single Sign-On (SSO) Server. This Application Express site must have already been registered as a partner application with the SSO server. For more information, contact your administrator.
Oracle Application Server Single Sign-On (My application as Partner App) delegates authentication to the SSO server. In this case, you must register an application with SSO as a partner application. See the next page for more details.
Does Someone know how to resolve it?
    Thanks

Thanks for all your help Scott
    I've added the -PORTAL_SSO- .....
After this I've had a new problem same to this: Re: SSO Authentication Not Working
"get the error below and it then directs me to http://hostx/htmldb/f? and the "p=" is missing"
But after a lot of tests I discovered where was the problem: "The apache configuration for the proxy!!"
This an extract from the installation doc :
    SetEnv force-proxy-request-1.0 1
    ProxyPass /htmldb http://127.0.0.1:8080/htmldb
    ProxyPassReverse /htmldb http://127.0.0.1:8080/htmldb
    ProxyPass /i http://127.0.0.1:8080/i
    ProxyPassReverse /i http://127.0.0.1:8080/i
    ProxyPass /sys http://127.0.0.1:8080/sys
    ProxyPassReverse /sys http://127.0.0.1:8080/sys
where you replace 127.0.0.1 with the name OR ip address of your XE installation. 8080 is the default http port of your XE installation. "
Well, I used the IP ADDRESS and in the @regapp > listener_token the NAME!!! (HTML_DB:servername.domain:80)
I changed the IP ADDRESS with the NAME, restarted the httpd service and now all works fine.

  • Oracle Application Single Sign-On

    Dear All,
We have a requirement that there should be single sign-on for the users to use both the Oracle and non-Oracle Applications. We are using Oracle Application Server 10g at the back end.
How to enable single sign-on. Is there any tool that we need to install.
Pls guide us as we are entirely new to this process.
    Regards,
    Rajani

    Hi,
You need to install and configure Oracle Internet directory and Single Sign On compontents of Oracle Application server 10g in order to have the Single Sign On working with Oracle Applications. After the Oracle Application Server Infrastructure tier installation there is addition integration steps you need to follow to integrate the Single Sign on with Oracle E-business suite. You can use DIP features ( Directory Integration and Provisiotion) to integrate with Third party directory server like Micrososft AD, Sun directory server etc. for Integrating the non oracle based application i think you have to use oracle single sign on API and you need to do bit of coding as well. You can also enble single sign on for database users but this requires advance security option enabled on the Database side and finally you can integrate Single sign on for OS users as well.

  • Oracle 9iAS Single Sign On Feature

I read and headrd about Oracle 9iAS's single sign on feature. Can someone explain it me with a practicle example.
We are developing jsp/ servlet applications. We make our appilcations to sign in the user an one time and we store users data in the computer with a cookie. Do 9iAS use mean this thing as SSO? If then, do 9iAS use cookie to impliment SSO?
    Ranjith
    [email protected]

you can register your application as a partner application with oracle Single Sign on, single sign on sets the cookies with authenticated information which your application can look for validation.

  • Oracle BIEE Single Sign-On

Can single sign-on be use for Oracle BIEE and another portal application? What is needed to configure the two application? Does Oracle BIEE 10.1.3.2 come with OAS?

SSO integration is covered in the OBIEE deployment guide. It currently supports two kings of SSO environments:
    1. Oracle SSO (OSSO)
    2. Anything else
The second option must be able to call the remote user interface but I have not implemented this so can not comment further.
OSSO refers to use of Oracle Infrastructure with OID and the implementation is quite simple but only follow the chapter on integrating to OSSO and not Oracle Application Server. This is some this else entirely.

  • Upgrade when using single middle tier, multiple instances

I'm wondering a little bit about a special case for upgrades. I know that I can install HTML DB once (in a new Oracle Home) and then either
    1) install it in other DB's via the installer and drop the new Oracle_home's (creating another DAD in the first home) or
    2) apparently I can just run 10gins.sql and create another DAD (right?)
So, now I have many databases with HTMLDB installed, but just one HTMLDB mid-tier home. When I get ready to upgrade (or even patch) all of these instances, what will the process entail? Will the installer be able to handle this? Will I just run a script manually? Will it be supported?
    Thanks for the info.
    Anton

    Anton:
1.6 (due out in December) will be distributed via a ZIP file, and will be installed by running an install script via SQL*Plus. The script will detect previous versions, and proceed with an upgrade.
For 10gR2, the files will be installed by the companion CD or a separate HTML DB CD in the target database's Oracle home. Oracle HTML DB will then be installed and configured by the DBCA. This will process will also detect previous versions, and proceed with an upgrade if necessary.
So for 1.6, you can upgrade all your instances using the installer script contained in the ZIP file.
For 10gR2, you will install the software (files) in each Oracle database home, and then run the DBCA to install (upgrade) and configure.
    Hope that helps,
    Jason

  • Single Sign-On:orasso Status Down After Enabling SSL

The status of Single Sign-On:orasso is listed as down in Enterprise Manager after enabling SSL. The same problem existed in with the Portal component, but this was fixed by adding a certificate to the certdb.txt file and by changing some URLs in the targets.xml file.
Does anyone know how to correct this issue with Enterprise Manager? It has no effect on the behavior of our application, but it is causing problems with administration because some people use the Enterprise Manager console to monintor the state of our environment.

    Hi,
    Did U try this the following steps;
When the configuration is finished, take the following steps:
    1.
In the Application Server Control Console Confirmation page, click OK. The Application Server Home page appears.
    2.
If you did not have an OC4J_SECURITY instance before, you will have one now. The OC4J_SECURITY instance will have a status of Down. You will also have a Single Sign-On:orasso instance with a status of Down. Select the check box next to OC4J_SECURITY and click Start.
Note: You cannot start the Single Sign-On:orasso instance. This feature is started and stopped when you start and stop HTTP_Server and OC4J_SECURITY.
    3.
When the operation completes, verify that OC4J_SECURITY has a status of Up.
Note: The Single Sign-On:orasso status may be displayed as Down. This is normal. The status should be updated approximately five minutes after configuration.
    4.
    Select HTTP_Server and click Restart.
    5.
Verify that you can access OracleAS Single Sign-On at the following URL:
    http://hostname.domain:port/pls/orasso
In the URL, hostname.domain is the host on which OracleAS Single Sign-On is installed and port is the Infrastructure HTTP Server port.
You can log in as orcladmin with the orcladmin password.
Also try to check Oracle Application Server Single Sign-On Administrator's Guide
    Hear from U & regards,
    Hamdy

  • UCCE with multiple instance

    Hi everyone,
I have a plan to install UCCE 8.0 with multiple instance in my lab environment.
I'm not sute that, do I have to use hosted model or use enterprise and just create multiple instance on it.
Actually, I want to implement multi-tenant , I'm not sure because I see that enterprise model also can add more than 1 instance.
And if I use one of this model, could anyone tell me that what server I have to separate.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Tinnakorn

    Hi Tinnakorn,
The Cisco Unified Contact Center Hosted (Unified CCH) solution is largely the same as Unified CCE, but it supports multi-tenant or shared servers to manage multiple customer instances. That is the reason you see the capability to add multiple instance, even in UCCE.
All Unified CCE systems are deployed as a single instance (using the same instance name and number in setup) across all the Unified CCE components.
Please refer to UCCE SRND for more details.
    Thanks,
    Hitesh

  • How multiple instances license is calculated?

    Hi
I got bit confused about license. SQL Server license is per core based, for instance standard edition in 2 core physical machine is 2*$1793, correct me if I am wrong.
    1. Does cost remain same if I install additional instances on the same physical machine?
    2. In case of multiple cluster instances.
    2. Does increasing node in cluster increases license cost? I believe so.
Please refer Microsoft link, if possible.
    Thanks

I think don’t need to buy multi license for multi instances on one server. You
can run multiple instances of SQL Server 2005 on a single computer. Multiple instances are used by organizations that have several applications running on a server but want them to run in isolation so that any problem in one instance will not affect the other
instances. In SQL Server 2005, you can now run multiple instances with the Workgroup, Standard, and Enterprise editions when they are licensed server/CAL or on a per-processor basis. Here is as list for Pricing and Licensing FAQ:
