Not sure if this is out of topic for this forum but it seemed the closest I could find. If it is out of topic could someone please point me in the right direction?
Im looking for the architectural direction Oracle is taking for their ERP and CRM applications. Specifically as Oracle moves their applications to the Oracle 9iAS application server will Oracle be changing their application architecture to a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) as other ERP and CRM vendors are? If not what architecture will the Oracle applications follow?

How to compare the no. items in an order i ERP and CRM?

Hi SAP Experts,
We are facing an issue where the number of line items in an order(same order) in ERP and CRM are different , properly not synchronized.e.g., one order in ERP is having 5 line items but in CRM for the same order has 7 line items.
How to compare and identify the difference in number of line items in ERP and CRM for same orders?
Is there any report or tables , any other way?

You can use transaction SDIMA for checking if data between crm and erp are synchronized. You can either run a Header comparison or Detailed comparison of the data. It is simple and easy to use. Or you can use report CRM_ODE_CHECK_DOC in CRM system to compare sales Documents between R/3 and CRM per transaction type/sales organization or even the transaction number. Also has got options to check transactions Not equal in CRM and R/3.

Middleware on CRM 7.0 for ERP and CRM sales integration

Hi all,
i am involved in a CRM upgrade project in order to repleace the client current release with CRM 7.0.
currently, my client handles sales integration between ERP and CRM using middleware fucntion and in particular SCENARIO A that allows to create sales orders both in the CRM system and in the R/3 system and to change them mutually in both systems.
my question is: new release 7.0 covers all those included functionalities by default without implementing this scenario? If yes, how and what exactly.

this can be done. You can call MDM web services for either doing a Free form search or even run a MDM matching strategy to find potential duplicates defined based on rules in MDM.
In one of our projects we have used Web services call from CRM ecommerce portal to MDM for doing a Customer search.

Since IS-Retail is an Industrial Solution package which was built above the Baseline package,all the Business processes which were there in 4.7 is supported by IS - Retail. You can access the Retail Menu in W10T and S000 for your normal Menu in ECC6..

Looking for best approach to implement all ERP and CRM Analytics

There is a scope to implement all the ERP Analytics (HR, Finance, SCM, Procurement & Spend, Project) and CRM Analytics (Sales, service, Marketing, Contact Center, Price, Loyalty ). Just want to know the best approach for impelmentation of both ERP and CRM analytics
1- Work with two separate containers with separate execution plan for ERP and CRM
2- Work with one container with one execution plan for both ERP and CRM
3- Work with one container with separate execution plans for both ERP and CRM
Also, Please let me know if there any standard document to achieve both the implementations simultaneously.

Answer, as always, is "it depends". Here is a list of things to consider w the 3 approaches you mentioned:
1- Work with two separate containers with separate execution plan for ERP and CRM
This is a good approach if you plan on a different frequency of ETL loads for each container or different timings. As long as the targets are the same and you run INCREMENTAL loads from both containers, then the refresh dates will be updated. This is usually a good idea if your ERP and CRM users have different timing and load requirements and do not want to "interfere" w each other. You will also have DATASOURCE NUM ID uniquely defined for each system so the data will be segregated. By default, each source system will have its own container
2- Work with one container with one execution plan for both ERP and CRM
This is good if you are ok w the same exact load time for both. Its a simple approach and all tables will be loaded at the same time to avoid any confusion.
3- Work with one container with separate execution plans for both ERP and CRM
Not sure what the advantage of this option versus keeping them in separate containers (like Option 1).
I would also review the secion in the DAC guide for "MultiSource Execution Plans"

Contact person Number range in ERP and CRM - Middleware settings

Dear SDN team,
We have currently integrated SAP CRM 5.2 and SAP R/3 4.6 c using Middleware .
The contact persons are maintained in SAP R/3 system and also downloaded into CRM system . Currently the Number range is different in both the systems
Going forward, we can create and maintain Contact Person data in CRM only. But we have an issue with the Number ranges allocation in ERP system.
Our Questions are :
1) Can we maintain a external number range for Contact Persons in ERP system ? If yes , how is this possible ? because Contact person is not a standard Account group in ERP and we cannot maintain PIDE settings for Contact persons .
2) What is the best solution to maintain Contact persons between ERP and CRM with active Middleware settings.
A Good answer will get maximum points.

Am no sure how best I can answer but attempting:
Basically the contact persons in the R/3 system when are transfered to a CRM, the system generates the number from the number range with internal number assignment of the standard grouping. Hence, no PIDE settings involved.
Now, maintaining the contact person in CRM and to determine the number range for contact persons differently, you got to go for enhancement. You can look at the note 564538 which might give you some clues as to what enhancements are required.

But my requirement is more on corresponding CRM Tables , the data fetching from R/3 tables will store in which CRM tables.To be clear the adopter objects extract the data from different R/3 tables but stores in to which tables?

Need to syncronize the Regions between ERP and CRM

I didn't find a adapter object to synchronize the 'Regions' between ERP and CRM. The regions are stored to the table T005S in ERP and the same table exists in CRM too.
Will any one of you adivce on how to sync. these two tables using a replication object?

Building a Custom Workflow in Oracle ERP and then link it to AME

I have a requirement to build a custom workflow in Oracle ERP which will then be attached to teh AME. Help appreciated on this. Wanted to k now if there is any genreal workflow already existing in oracle erp which I can start as a base and then build my details into it. This workflow will be called from a custom form in oracle ERP and the approval notification needs to follow the same Oracle ERP standards with notifications etc.

API to update the Oracle username and CRM resource record

Hi All,
We have a requirement wherein the business wants to update the Oracle usernames for a given set of people, to their AD (Active Directory) user names.
For Eg. If the Oracle User Name is ‘ABC’ and the AD (Active Directory) User Name is ‘ABC01’, then the business wants the Oracle User Name also to be changed to ‘ABC01’.
Also, after successful update of user name, we also have to update the CRM resource record to ensure the CRM record is associated with the correct username.
We have identified the following API’s to achieve the above stated requirement –
fnd_user_pkg.change_user_name - To update Oracle User Name
jtf_rs_salesreps_pub.update_resource – To update the CRM resource
But, issue is we are not sure of the impact this Oracle username / CRM resource name change will have, for eg. If there are some workflows which might get affected.
If anyone has implemented any such requirement, please share the same with us.

Hi All,
I was successfull in updating the Oracle username and CRM resource record successfully through the api fnd_user_pkg.change_user_name and jtf_rs_resource_pub.update_resource respectively.
Although I can see that the user names in wf_roles and wf_local_roles is also changed but it has delayed/frozen the WF processes and made the instance unavailable for workflow use with many delayed processes.
Can anyone please advise what can be the issue or how can we come out of this issue (keeping the changed user names).
Request to please help as this is a bit urgent as workflow processes are hung-up and we cannot free them and it is making the instance unavailable for use.

Oracle CEP and Event Driven Architecture

I am a master student and writing my thesis on adaptive enterprise. An important component in my frameworks is the ability for organisation to response to sudden and unpredictable event.
I have found that Oracle offer the CEP technology, which considered as the corners stone for its SOA suit to achieve SOA 2.0 standards.
I only have very superficial understanding of CEP technology, and would like to learn from you
1.     Has Oracle leveraged the capability of CEP for BI? Does the information from CEP feed back to BI to facilitate decision making?
a.     If so, how? Can someone send me a link which elaborates the architecture?
2.     According to the white paper, CEP is able to anticipate the future event based on existing event, how does it filter the false signal, and how accurate it might predict the future event?
3.     Does CEP have the capability to distinguish the importance of an event?
4.     Does CEP help BAM to trace back a particular transaction and identify which part of the service generates a warning signal?
5.     Has Oracle integrated the Event Driven Architecture with Enterprise Manager yet? I want to know whether Oracle SOA suit support auto orchestration and choreography based on the event identified by CEP.

Just wanted to add a few additional points. OCEP is a platform for building event-driven applications that encompasses a number of things; including clustering, high-availability, distributed cache integration, monitoring, management, logging, database access, and more. A part of the platform is the event processing engine. Previously, OCEP did embed an event processing engine that was based on Esper, although a lot of custom hardening, performance, and feature enhancements were done. The Esper technology has now been replaced by Oracle's own event processing engine, although the legacy Esper engine is still supported for backward compatibility. The event processing language supported by the new engine is called CQL (Continuous Query Language).

Replication of text determination (business partner) between ERP and CRM

Hello,
in ERP I have maintained a text determination procedure Z1 and assigned it to the text object "KNA1". The textprocedure include the Text ID's "Z011" and "Z020".
In CRM exist the text object "KNA1" and "BUT000". I have customized a a text determination procedure "Z1" and the same Text ID's as in ERP, to booth text objects.
The text ID's don't be replicated, no matter i maintain it in CRM or ERP.
Can anybody tell me, how can I replicate the content of the text ID's? What is the relevant text object in CRM?

There are objects for replicating the data between CRM and CDB.
CRM_DNL_TTXOB and CRM_DNL_TTXID.
But none for replication between R/3 and CRM. WE need to maintain it manually.
