I'm looking for information/documentation regarding the difference between the Oracle Exadata plug-in vs the Exalogic Elastic Cloud Infrastructure Plug-in. I can find some info on the Elastic Cloud but so far cannot find any
documentation on the required Oracle Exadata plug-in.

Exalogic Elastic Cloud 12c INTERNAL Beta Testing

I have custom EBGT (Exalogic Base Guest Template) extensions created for 2.0.6.0.0, so I went to migrate one of them to the EBGT 12c beta. During that exercise, I noticed:
That there is no BASE directory or vm.cfg file in the EBGT 12c beta tarball. The vm.cfg is for HVM (hardware virtualized machine) configurations, but there is a way to modify it so that it works with PVM (para virtualized machine) technology, like Oracle Virtual Box. The problem is that with it not being present, there is no way to modify it. Luckily, I was able to just create a BASE directory, copy the tarball's System,img file into it, and copy in one of my existing modified vm.cfg files (which I rename to vm.pvm.cfg) in order to proceed.
That several LVM volumes show up in nautilus with EBGT 12c beta when you mount System.img, but only one is the one you want to work with (i.e. add rpms to, edit files under /etc directory, etc.). Using the UUID is probably the cleanest way to distinguish one System.img's mounted LVM from another, so I changed my mountSystem.sh and umountSystem.sh files to use blkid to obtain that, then use it to create the directory name that gets mounted to.

How to check Exadata plug-ins are installed and running?

Hi ,
I have quarter rack Exadata set-up. I wanted to check whether i have Exadata plug-ins already installed and running or not ?
Is there any way to confirm this ? I can see grid control running on separate host and several other production dbs are registers with it for monitoring. But not sure whether Exadata db is registered to it or not ? I believe, i need to install agent and additional plug-ins to have it monitored via grid control.
Can i check that ? Is there any way ?
I am new to OEM and yet have not explored it.

I haven't worked with Exadata myself but the installed plug-ins should be visible under Setup (upper-right-corner of the Grid Control Home page), Management Plug-ins.

Migrating settings, actions, plug-ins etc. from CS5 to CS6 (Creative Cloud)

Hi,
I wondered if someone could help me with the transition from CS5 to CS6 (Creative Cloud). I'm on a Mac with Mountain Lion.
I would like to migrate as many settings (i.e. workspaces where relevant), personal Photoshop actions, plug-ins (i.e. Type DNA, FontShop [Photoshop], Scriptographer [Illustrator] and Blurb Template Creator [InDesign]) as possible from CS5 to CS6. What is the easiest and smoothest way to do this?
Some settings, actions and plug-ins might not work with CS6, I don't know. I can't find where my Photoshop actions are archived atm.
Can I import extensions from Adobe Extension Manager CS5 to Adobe Extension Manager CS6?
Should I uninstall all CS5 apps? I'd like to keep InDesign CS5 for backwards compatibility at least.
Does Audition completely replace Soundbooth? What about Flash Catalyst, Device Central and OnLocation?
Edit: I have already installed all the Creative Cloud applications btw. But I haven't uninstalled any CS5 apps yet.

Hi Elvind,
I would suggest keeping both CS5 and CS6 versions on the system until you are fully transitioned, longer if you want. When you launch Photoshop CS6 it will ask you if you want to import settings from the prior version. Third party plug-ins may or may not be compatible between versions so you might need to check with the manufacturer to find out. You would most likely need to reinstall any third party plug-ins that integrate into existing Adobe product installations though.

For the PS actions, I normally open the actions panel, highlight the actions set (folder) I wanted to migrate, from the flyout menu of the panel choose the option to save the set, this creates the .atm file. There is another option for importing actions in the same menu.
I can't speak to migrating in relation to the other products. I would recommend posting in the respective product forums.

Can I use my current CS6 Photoshop and After Effects plug-ins if I join the Creative Cloud?

I am interested in getting a Creative Cloud membership but am wondering if I will still have access to all of my CS6 plug-ins for Photoshop and After Effects?

you can still use your cs6 versions along side the cc versions.

Plug-ins for RealServer 8 and Oracle 9i

We are in the process of figuring out what we need to stream video stored in 9i with InterMedia using RealServer 8 on Solaris. Oracle says that there is no plug-in for Oracle 9i yet. All the plug-ins I found on OTN, even the 8i ones refer to RealServer G2 or RealServer 7.
Has anybody been working on getting this plug-in or this configuration working ? We'd like to use the new version of the db, 9i and also the newest version of RealServer. Thanks in advance.

The plugin can be made to work with RealServer 8 and 9i with a workaround.
Without doing a workaround, An invalid library message
occurs when the RealServer loads the Oracle plugin and tries to locate/resolve all the libraries that the plugin needs.
If a library can't be located then a invalid message is emitted.
The workaround only works on Solaris.
The workaround is to, simply go to ${ORACLE_HOME}\lib and
create a new symbolic link to point to the version 9 library: `ln -s libclntsh.so.9.0 libclntsh.so.8.0`
To check if things are now OK On Solaris, go to the realServer plugins directory and type `ldd liborclfs.so`.
This will list the dynamic dependencis for the plugin. If any of the dependecies can not be found/resolved,
it will list a not found message.

Contact the makers of your third party plugins and see if they have updates that work correctly with Photoshop CC 2014.
Also, make sure you ran the installers for the plugins instead of just copying them, since you may be missing necessary support files for the plugins.

... It is possible to find the odd question that is 'iffy' ... probably on 7 times out of 8 on careful reading the exam is right ... probably on 10% of time the canididate is right. The old prometric tests used to have a get out clause by choing the 'best' answer.
On beta exams there is a feedback button ... i dont think that is the case with production exams currently at pearson. Even if there is it counts against exam time doing feedback ..

If I purchase a Creative Cloud single app, Photoshop subscription, can I use my photoshop plug-ins?

If you want to know the if you will get the same product as you have in perpetual purchase of Photoshop. than the answers is yes and you can do all things which you can do in standalone Photoshop license.

My computer now has my old CS6 in it, and I want to get creative cloud back. Problem is I have different sign in id's and can't seem to access my creative cloud at all.
