Oracle Express homepage won't load

When 2000 loads I'll click start database, try to go to the homepage but it isn't broadcasting.
I've tried stopping and restarting but it does no good.
I haven't installed any firewall's or anything like that, but I don't see what difference that makes because I'm just accessing it from my local machine.
Thanks.

Hi,
Exist some Firewall that is blocking the port 8080 ?

If you have just updated the latest version of Firefox and have Norton Security, download the latest version of Firefox and save it to your hard drive. Then uninstall the version that you are currently using then install your saved latest version and then restart your computer. This totally solved my problem with Firefox and my Norton Security 2010.

You need to be a little more specific.
What DB are you running (express, Enterprise etc)
Can you connect to the database in other ways?I am using oracle Database 10 g express edition and when I try to load the home page start>programs>Oracle Database 10 g express edition>go to database home page I get a message saying server cannot be found, page failed to load, I have tried loading through the web browser and also tried connecting through SQL Plus there is obviously some thing wrong with the configuration of my machine but I dont know what.

  • Since I set my history to remember all again, whenever I start firefox (my homepage is bing) it loads indefinitely and revs up to a high memory load. The homepage won't load and I am forced to endtask in task manager.

I tried using CCleaner to delete the cookies and clean my registry but it didn't work. I also tried chkdsk /f but that didn't work.
Whenever I try to run firefox it ramps up the memory and indefinitely loads a blank page. Considering I deleted my cookies in firefox with CCleaner then it should be loading my homepage which is Bing.com. I am able to maximize and minimize the browser but it loads and is set to "not responding" by my OS so I can't click any buttons like "home" or get into the options menu.
I am speaking to you now from internet explorer. :-(

Don't know how but it was gone for a day or two, and I updated but now it's back again and I haven't done anything to cause it. If it doesn't go away I'm going to go to a less secure but more stable browser, like chrome. I wish I didn't have to do that but at this point I don't see any other choice.

  • Logic Express 8 won't load saxophones

For the first time ever, I'm getting the dreaded error: "Logical end-of-file reached during read operation. Result code = -39". This error occurs whenever I (a) load a Logic project that has a software instrument track in it that is assigned to either the Tenor Sax.exs or Alto Sax.exs instruments OR (b) create a new software instrument track and then load either of those same saxophone sounds. The same saxophone instruments work fine when I play them in GarageBand, however. I've tried reinstalling Logic Express. I've also tried using known-good exs instruments from another computer. To no avail. What else can I try?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
checked in the Logic Pro forum - maybe you should turn off time machine while running logic.
Another solution: If you can identify the exact file causing the problem, maybe deleting and reinstalling it from the Garageband or Logic Install Disk can cure the thing.
    The samples are in library/application support/garageband/Instrument Library/Sampler/Sampler Files/Tenor Sax.
The EXS file is found in Sampler/Sampler Instrument.
Also, repair permissions. May not have to do anything with this but is always wise to do.

  • Homepage won't load...

Can someone please help me find my homepage??? I opened Safari today and my homepage did not open. The link at the top of the page read as follows: http://b/
When I click enter, I get a popup stating that Safari can't open te page "http://b/ because b does not exist.
Did I do something to remove my homepage? How do I get it back?
Sorry for the "probably" very dumb question, but I am not very savvy on the computer so I can't figure this out.
Your help would be so very much appreciated!
    Thanks a bunch!

In Safari, navigate to the page that you want to use as your home page. If it's a web site you have visited recently, starting to type the link will probably automatically fill in the rest of it.
Once you have loaded the page you want, click on "Safari" in the menubar and choose "Preferences" from the menu.
Cick on the "General" tab at the top of the preferences window.
Below "Home page" click the button that says "Set to Current Page".
    You should be all set.
Hi, fortunate. I was typing when you posted, so didn't see your post.

  • Safari 5.1.3 homepage won't load

I have a macbook pro 13" running safari 5.1.3, but every time i launch safari it does not open my home page it opens my last visited page, i have set homepage to open when a new window opens but nothing happens, please help

That's normal - Resume is a feature in Lion the automatically returns to a previous browser screen. If, like me, you want to disable this feature, that's easily done. I've disabled Resume in an iMac and MBP:

  • My homepage won't load properly, but all other sites load fine.

When my homepage opens, all I see is a list of the drop-down menus on the left, instead of across the top. All are 'dead', not operating. The page is a blank white page instead showing the page content. I can access my homepage through IE fine. Using Firefox, all other website are normal. I tried downloading and reinstalling Firefox, but it would not download.

Sounds like maybe the Hard Drive is failing or has failed.
    1. Start from your Mac OS X Install disc: Insert the installation disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
    5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk.
If you can not see the Mac OS X volume (Macintosh HD) in Disk Utility while started up form the Install Disc, then you will need to make an appointment at your local Apple Store or AASP and have them help.
If you have a good backup in place, then you can easily restore the new Hard Drive from backup. If not, then depending on what is wrong, you may or may not be able to recover your user data from a bad Hard Drive.

  • Really? Yahoo's homepage won't load? What else?

I'm lost. I just beefed up my RAM enough to poke around on this old computer. It's a lot faster than it was a few minutes ago. I startd okin aorund the inernet. Yahoo! says it needs the new version of Safari in order t load. I click the link. That tells me that I need 10.5. What? Why is everything else seemingly okay? I'm still poking. But about to junk all five of my G4s. Two are QS, the other three are not. Is it worth adding to th hard drive and getng a half decent couple computers here? I was thinking of 200G hard drive, and 1G SDRAM in order to store all my music on .WAV files and to sill poke around on the net from time to time.
Is this just going to be a headache? I'm wanting to start a small internet radio station. I have tons of great music and the know-how.

You don't need Leopard 10.5 to view Yahoo's sites. My G4 laptop & desktop running Tiger 10.4 work just fine on Yahoo's sites. You probably need a newer browser than Safari for 10.3. Try the Firefox browser for OS 10.3 v2.0.0.20 (freeware) http://www.versiondownload.com/firefox/2.0.0.20

  • Loaded Creative Suite and now my Final Cut Express HD won't start up

Loaded Creative Suite on my iMAC 20" and now my Final Cut Express HD won't start up. It wants to load but i only see it for a few seconds then it disappears.
Is this a scratch disk problem or did CS do this.
    HELP !!!!!!!!

    Welcome to the discussions,
to repair permissions close all open applications go - utilities - disk utility - select macintosh HD, then click 'repair permissions' - and wait. The shutdown and re-start.
You need to supply more details about your operating system and hardware in your profile to help us to describe your method for trashing your prefs but check this out:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3800327&#3800327
or this which primarily deals with fcp but introduces fcp/fce rescue and other useful info:
    http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/trashing_fcpprefs.html
also, is your software up to date? Run software update from the apple menu, repairing permissions before and after.
To log into a different account and try launching FCE from there go to system preferences - accounts - and add a new user. Log into the new account and try to launch fce.
Ideally, it will help you to use the search function in these forums which can point you in the right direction before needing to post a question which may have come up in discussion before.
Good luck and post back to let us know if you've had any success.

  • Why is it that Safari 5.1 won't load my homepage? It only brings up the last page viewed.

After upgrading to Lion, Safari won't load my homepage. I have one set. I've even changed it to see if Safari is biased against Google, but no, when I quit Safari and then re-open it, I get the last page viewed not my homepage. I have a home page for a reason. I like to start from there.

What worked for me was going to System Preferences, General tab, uncheck "Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps", then I shut down my computer and when I turned it back on, it worked, I was back on my home page when I started Safari.  I probably would have worked if I just restarted my computer, but I went the long route.

  • WRT54G Wireless Setup page won't load and other issues.

Well I have had quite the mess the last 24 hours. I'll start from the beginning and attempt to spell out the issues I am having. I have had this router for 4 years or so and have never had a problem.
I recently purchased a PS3 and started using the wireless feature that it offeres. Well I was having problems staying connected and was running in to IP address conflicts with my laptop. So I thought I would cure that by moving the router to the ps3 and using a wired connection for its internet. So that is what I did and that is when the problems started snowballing!!  After I got the router moved and everything set up, all seemed well at first.
Shortly thereafter I realized I was still getting IP conflicts. So i did some research and saw where I could dedicate an address for the ps3 and also change some of the wireless settings on the router homepage. I previously had never password protected my network. I'm in a rural area and there aren't many people around that would be trying to get on it. But I figured since I was there I would rename the network and password protect it and all of that. Well that didn't help either. I was still having problems.
I then did all of the resets. Online, on the unit and also a power cycle. So I was back to square one with the settings at this point. So today I noticed that my connection would go from its norm of 54mbps down to1 and then lose connection. I did the resets and restarts and all of that, to no avail. Then it got to the point where it wouldn't connect at all. I checked the actual connection by connecting my computer directly to the modem and it worked flawlessly. So I know it is a router problem. I also tried using 2 seperate laptops and they both responded the same.
I think part of the issue I had then was that the modem and router were on my entertainment center and weren't very high and were in a shelf. Also, my surround sound receiver does use a wireless connection to 2 of its speakers. I didn't know the proper placement of a router until I had this problem. Now that it is back in its previous location the connection seems to be normal, although once in the last hour I did drop down to 1mbps and have to disconnect and reconnect. But it hasn't happened again so far.
However, I am unable to access the wireless page on the router setup page. I did yesterday but it won't load today. On either computer. So I am unable to change the name of my network or assign a password or change any other wireless setting. And again, I've tried every reset method and it still don't work.
Also, does anyone have any advice on the conflicting IP addresses with the ps3? They sent me an email stating that it may be a port or firewall issue? After doing some online research it seems this particualr router has had a lot of problems getting along with the ps3.
I hope I haven't put in too much information but I was just trying to make sure I had any questions I could think of answered ahead of time. I've tried about every avenue I could already. I tried the chat help and was told I didn't qualify and was sent to the phone assistance who after a half hour realized I didn't qualify for that help either. So, here I am!!! Thanks ahead of time!

Make sure that there is no static IP address on any of your computer. You can assign a static IP address on Play station.
Connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable.
Download t he latest firmware from Linksys website and save it on your computer.
Open the setup page of the router. Go to Administration tab and click on Firmware upgrade sub tab. Browse the firmware file that you have already downloaded and upgrade it on your router.
After upgrading the firmware on your router, it is recommended that you should reset the router and reconfigure it. Press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait for 30 seconds. Power cycle the router and reconfigure it.
Change the MTU size on the router to 1365.
Go to Wireless tab and change the wireless network name and channel to 11. Also change the wireless security settings.

I discovered problem. It's caused by NetworkManager after last update (libsystemd.0.so trouble).
Recompile pkg by yourself to get working NetworkManager.

  • Corrupt Data1.cab in Oracle Express 10g Universal  for Windows

    Hello Oracle Folks,
I downloaded several times Oracle Express 10g Universal for Windows (OracleXEUniv.exe) and tried to install it and I get every time the same error message: "Error 1335. The required file "Data1.cab" is corrupt and cannot be used ...". When I download the Western European Edition (OracleXE.exe) the installation works! I downloaded the file on different local disks to exclude the risk that my disk is damaged.
Can you please check if this download is sane!
Thanks and best regards Thomas Mayr

    Amazing reply Hans.
I have seen some arrogent smart mouth answers in my time. But this really takes the cake. Also judging from the icon you are some kind of employee of oracle. Wow! Now that shows respect for your users.
Sorry to disappoint you - I am not an employee of Oracle. Much of your rant is irrelevant.
I am simply a person who has volunteered enough time to provide over 8,000 repsonses in these forums and many more in other forums.
Many, many, many of the questions are pure repetition due to the extreme laziness, incompetence or inability to do basic thinking by the questioners. There are also a lot of questions by 'newbies' who have obviously made an attempt to research the problem.
My approach to answering questions is simple and two-fold:
    - make the person angry enough, or aware ennough, that they will think a bit when asking the next question;
    - if they ask a question intelligently (http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html) I usually am convinced to help.
(And yes, I do take longer breaks when I find myself being frustrated enough to provide answers like the above.)
The stupid installation program for your stupid database was supposed to check the version of the Operating System. Anyway how does the operating system version matter if a cab file is corrupted? which was incidently packed in that stupid download link which you have happily given to all customers all this time. I was hoping to find that since you guys are too lazy to make the installation file properly you might have atleast bothered to put up a download link for that stupid Data1.cab. But nooo... The 'stupid installation program' is indeed that - a stupid installation program. It does a certain amount of checking, but definitely not enough. In that I do agree with you. It was also released too early - basrely understands how to spell Vista.
Also, there is an assumption by Oracle that the person downloading reads the documentation, especially the installation guide, that is available at the same location as the download. It is amazing and extremely disappointing to note how many people will not even attempt to look at the link.
The real sad part for me is that I frequently download software (and did again in this case) to verify that the user has a legitimate complaint. The 'data1.cab' that I received was not corrupt. Therefore I conclude the original poster made some huge assumption that is likely invalid. Now, I did install into an XP machine, and that could make a difference.
As for the 'you guys' statement - perhaps you should take that up with Oracle or an Oracle employee. Directing at me is an unsubstantiated assumption on your part. <g>
    >
I wasted some time thinking I would check out the db for development, got the same error and after seeing your mealy mouthed response to that poor guy who was asking a valid question, I think I won't bother anymore. You see, there is this amazing thing called Linux and MySQL..
Yup. You could easily go there. Shows yet another assumption. (In fact, my company is centered around Linux and Oracle. And I have made a conscious decision, based on 3 decades of experience, to toss MySQL and stick with Oracle. And now that Sun, which owns MySQL, seems to be on the auction block, the future of MySQL is definitely up in the air.)
However, given how many assumptions you make and how valid they are, you may find it easier to stick with MySQL. Oracle Express edition potentially could save huge buckets of time and effort in the long run, but it does require reading, research and other skills to get up to speed.
    Now, as to your problem
    1) This is not the forum to discuss issues with installation. (If the problem is traced to the download source, then this is the right spot.)
    2) There is a dedicated forum for Oracle Database 10g Release 2 Express Edition (Oracle Database Express Edition (XE)
