Oracle Financials 12i certified with Java 7?
Hi,
Does anyone know if Oracle Financials 12i is certified to run on Java 7?
Regards,
Hean
Pretty sure that is just a general guideline. No way to actually test all possible configurations from the point of view of Oracle.
However you should certainly test your application on the targeted system.
> Does this mean that Java is not officially supported by Oracle with Windows
My view is that Oracle doesn't really "support" anything unless you have a service contract with them. Other than that if it works it works and if it doesn't good luck figuring out why.

Oracle ADF Data Control With Java List
Hello
I have a question regarding Data Controls that are based on Application Modules functions. In short I created function:
public List getListOfTest() {
List allTests = new ArrayList();
allTests.add("test1");
allTests.add("test2");
allTests.add("test3");
return allTests;
inside AppModuleImp.java
I tested this implementation through AppModule Oracle ADF Model Tester and it returns test1,test2,test3. So this is OK. Now I publisher function through Client Interfaces, and I can see it know in DataControl.
So I drag and drop function on my jsf page, and render it as a button. Also i drag and droped "return"(hierarchically beeneth/inside function getListOfTest in DataControll) from Data Control and rendered it as ADF table. I was hoping that this will show: test1,test2,test3 in ADF table.
But now when I run jsf page and it is displayed in browser I get:
Object java.util of type ApplicationModule is not found
What I am doing wroong. Please help. Thx
I use JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.2.2.0The solution is
public List<String> getListOfTest() {
List<String> allTests = new ArrayList<String>();
allTests.add("test1");
allTests.add("test2");
allTests.add("test3");
return allTests;
Problem was in generic List -

Protocol used by Oracle Financials
hi!
We have a product that monitors network traffic.Does anyone know the protocol used by Oracle Financials to talk with an App Server via a Web Browser??The sniffer trace I took shows encrypted data.
ThanxWell, Klatch I was asking for the net protocol that is used by the WRT160NL to share the contents of the USB drive attached. FAT32 and NTFS are filesystems "local" to the hard disks. Any way, thank you for your interest!
kevj,the problem is that I want to connect an old XBOX to the hard disk attached to the router, and the console is wirelessly connected through an AP to the router. The main net protocol supported by the XBOX is Samba, but as far as I know, it's not the best net protocol to share large video files. It's very useful to share "standard" files, as documents, images, etc, but not very optimum when we talk of 4GB files... Anyway, I'll make another try to connect by SMB and I'll tell you my results... Thank you very much for your help!

Later from the above log, i compared the Java Version of our System

Kindly clarify the below Queries.
1)Is the above Solman installation error was due to Java version? If so, do we need to install java version "1.6.0_45" in Solman Server to proceed with the installation.
2)Cant we proceed the Solman installation with the current Java version (java version "1.4.2") of our System .
3) What is the actual Prerequistes to be maintained for JAVA. I have downloaded the Installtion guide from SMP.
but in the installation guide, The exact java version to be maintained to proceed with the Solman Installation 7.1 SR1 is not mentioned anywhere.
4)If we install the Java 1.6, do we need to start Solman installation from the scratch . Any reboot required after installing java 1.6?
5)Because of the inconsistencies in java version in our System, The installation shows the Error " Import directory does not exist "?
6)Please tel the cause of the Error
Kindly assist to proceed with the installation
Regards,
Gayathri.KHello Gayathri
The import_monitor.java.log says the JRE used is 1.6 - java version "1.6.0_45"
There must be multiple JRE's installed on the system.
Run the below command and check the output
ls -lad /usr/java*
Few things I would try.
Is the '/cddumps/Solman_Export_Cds/51042607_1/DATA_UNITS/EXP1' an NFS mount ? If yes use a local file system.
Create a directory called /SMINSTALL and move all from /cddumps/Solman_Export_Cds
It should look like /SMINSTALL/51042607_1/DATA_UNITS/EXP1
Start the installation.
Try to use Java 1.4 or 1.5 and see if that helps.
You need to set the environment variable JAVA_HOME before starting the installation.
export JAVA_HOME=/usr/java14_64/jre
Are there any files/directories under 51042607_*/DATA_UNITS/EXP* ?

I'm new to Oracle. I have installed Oracle SQL Developer 3.0.04 and Java 1.7. When I run Oracle SQL Developer, I will get the window Running this product is supported with minimum Java version of 1.6.0_04 and a maximum version less than 1.7. This product will not be supported....
Is there any known problem using Oracle SQL Developer 3.0.04 with Java 1.7?
I have already downloaded Java 1.6 but don't know whether I need to uninstall Java 1.7 first. If don't need to uninstall Java 1.7, how can I set Oracle SQL Developer to run with Java 1.6?
Thanks for any help.
Edited by: 881656 on Aug 25, 2011 11:22 AMHi,
One prior post discussing the use of Java 7 is:
SQL Developer 3.0 and Java SE 7?
There is no need to uninstall any Java version (except if you have disk space constraints) and no problem switching between Java versions. This may be controlled in the sqldeveloper.conf file in your ...\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin directory via the SetJavaHome line. For example:
#SetJavaHome ../../jdk
SetJavaHome C:/Program Files/Java/jdk1.6.0_26
#SetJavaHome C:/Program Files/Java/jdk1.7.0Regards,

Is 10.2.0.3 is certified with oracle apps 11.5.10.2
Hi,
Is 10.2.0.3 is certified with 11.5.10.2....
One more thing...
During upgrade of 11.5.10.2 Database to 10g R2...
Do we require 10g Release 2 Companion CD, if it is why it is required...with out this..cant we upgrade....
Please give advice
following are the components from Oracle Companion CD...
======================================================
we are not going to implement these
JPublisher
Oracle Database Examples (formerly Oracle Demos)
Oracle JVM
Oracle interMedia
Oracle Text Supplied Knowledge Bases
Oracle Ultra Search
Oracle HTTP Server
Oracle HTML DB
Oracle Workflow server and middle-tier components
==================================
Is the above things compulsory required to upgrade to 10g..Yes 10.2.0.3 is certified for 11.5.10.2
Follow the latest 10gR2/11i Interoperability Notes (362203.1)
Oracle Applications Release 11i with Oracle 10g Release 2 (10.2.0)
http://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/showdoc?db=NOT&id=362203.1
You need to install the companion CD. 8i/9i delivered Intermedia and the JVM by default, and in 10g those products are contained on the companion CD. Your upgrade will fail if those components are not installed in the 10gR2 Oracle Home. You do not need to install the Oracle HTTP Server or HTML DB. -
Oracle Reports with Oracle Financials (FMIS)
Hi folks,
I'm in a bit of a bind at the moment. I really really need a little help getting an understanding of Oracle Report Writer. The situation is as follows:
I'm currently working on a system that moves data from an SQL Server 7.0 Database into some Oracle Financials (FMIS) Interface Tables. The Interface tables are apparently used to post Customer and Invoicing information into the real Oracle Financials tables, for Invoicing and General Ledger purposes.
Its come to my understanding that Oracle ReportWriter is no longer available on the market today? Is this true? The reason why I ask is, my client is tossing with the idea of using Oracle ReportWriter over Crystal Reports.
The only thing that I have heard is that Oracle Report Writer is a much more powerful tool than Crystal Reports. So I guess the main question would be, is Report Writer a more powerful and easy to use application over other report writing tools?
Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.

nullVick,
I believe it is all in the name. Oracle ReportWriter is long gone; however it has evolved to Oracle Reports which is going strong. The current version is Oracle Reports 6i and has been out for more than a year. It was preceeded by Oracle Reports 6.0, 3.0, 2.5, 2.0 and finally ReportWriter1.1,.... The Early versions were packaged in various bundles with our other tools.
Oracle Reports is a very powerful reporting tools and stacks up very well against Crystal. One big advantage is that we work extremely well against an Oracle Database (no external drivers to go through). We also run on a greater variety of machines including Unix. We provide XML output and integration with our other BI tools, Discoverer and Express as well as Oracle Portal. Reports can be deployed over the web using standard CGI/Servlet technology. I don't have room to mention all the advantages, but click on this link to our OTN website for a high level overview Reports 6i. http://otn.oracle.com/products/reports/pdf/iasreports.pdf
Other documentation is also available to show you the power of Oracle Reports 6i.
