Oracle Forms 6.0 and Adobe PDF

Hi Folks
I have an Oracle table which details an index of pdf files on the filesystem.
How do I create a link between the form and the filesystem so that my user can query the table, select an item and then open it from the form.
I am using Oracle 8.0.5, Dev 6.0 on NT 4 sp 3

How to retain hyperlinks converting word 2011 to .pdf and Adobe PDF

I'm having this issue with saving a MS Word 2011 doc. Hyperlinks are NOT preserved. Seems unrelated to any browser version. I'm on OSX 10.7.4. Have tried the 'built-in' "Save as PDF" option under the PRINT GUI, also tried the "Save as Adobe PDF", as I have Acrobat 10 installed as well. Appreciate any tips.

Option A
If you have Apple Pages…
Open the Word 2011 document in Pages.
Go to the File menu, select Export, choose PDF… from the pop out menu and follow the prompt.
Option B
Go to the free file conversion web site Zamzar. Follow their four-step process to upload and convert your Word 2011 document to pdf.
Note: url addresses in the Word 2011 doc do become hyperlinks in the resultant PDF.
IMO, what we experience is a Microsoft problem NOT Apple nor Adobe. (Apple Pages retain hyperlinks.) You can help get the attention of Microsoft about this issue. In any of the Office 2011 applications, go to the Help menu and select “Send feedback about Word/Excel/PowerPoint.” That will take you to their Office for Mac Product Feedback web site page. Fill out the form and submit. Note that you can only choose one product to report on at a time. Repeat the feedback by selecting each of the other MS Office 2011 applications.

Could somebody please explain how I should implement the SSO so that I can log on a forms application?
Should I use external partner app. ??
How can I parse the right parameters to the forms server ??

Oracle Forms 6i does not support Advances Security for SQL*Net if this is what your question is. ASO is supported with Forms 9i and above

I have Acrobat Pro DC and Adobe PDF Pack and I am still unable to open a PDF file from my outlook.

I have Acobat Pro DC and Adobe PDK Pack and I am still unable to oepn an PDF filed from my Outlook. So I have to save it on my computer but then I can only open it in Adobe Reader. Please help

Could you please let me know what version of Outlook are you using.
Please try opening some other PDF file and check if the same issue persists as this might be a document specific issue.
Also, what happens if you try opening the file in Acrobat?

Can I read a single PDF file on iBooks, Kindle and Adobe PDF?

Hi there,
Is it possible to read a PDF file on iBooks and also read that same file on Kindle and Adobe Reader on the iPad?
I can't seem to do that and it seems silly to have 3 copies of the same file, in the same format, to be able to read on these 3 apps!
Should there be a book library such that when I open any of those apps, it goes to that library and displays the books and files that it can actually open!
It seems logical for this to be the case but somehow... ???

A pdf located in iBooks cannot be read by the other two apps, and vice versa.
Why not just use the one app for all your pdfs?
As with any library, a library can only display what is available on its own bookshelf.
It seems illogical to me....

Oracle Forms 9.04 and Form Colours

Hi i am fairly new to building forms, i having a problem where when i specify a frame colour to say red or blue, when the form is run in the browser it does not change colours, it stays the same green colour all the way through. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and found a work around. Many Thanks in Advance.

The colors used by Oracle Forms are controlled by the pallet. Forms allows you to use a Default Pallet (no action necessary by the user) or you can specify your own pallet in the Forms Preferences (Edit => Preferences=> General Tab, Color Palette). More than likely you are dealing with a configuration issue. The Forms OC4J (running from your local machine) or Forms Server (deployed to an Apps Server) can't find the default.pal file in the your Delevoper Home. ( <ORACLE_HOME>\tools\common90 ).

I can't print my score to pdf. The print box openes but The print button and the preview butten are not responsive!
Is any body else experiencing the same issue?

Only Logic Pro 9.1.8 is officially supported under Mavericks. So: update!

Oracle Forms 4.5 and 9iAS

Has anyone migrated an Oracle Forms 4.5 application into 9iAS? What were your experiences and lessons learned?

Forms 4.5 is a very old release (I worked with it 10 years ago). So I'll be very surprised that it could be
supported today.
More over, according to the Note *338513.1* of MOS, Forms 6i is desupported and then, not certified
to Oracle Server *11g*.
As previously posted, you may think to upgrade your Forms and Report.

Hi,
Try the built-in procedure WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT. See some examples in the on-line help of Forms.
You can call this built-in procedure in a Form level trigger , called 'KEY-HELP' (when the user presses the <Ctrl>+<H> buttons) , or if you have a button on the form use the trigger 'WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED'.

Concurrent installation of PDF IFilter 9 for indexing and Adobe PDF Reader 9.5.2

There is PDF IFilter 9, which is configured on SharePoint2010. I have seen that the installation of additional AdoveReader (in our case Adobe PDF Reader 9.5.2) on the same server can destroy IFilter installation. Is it somebody who has experience with that?

i am not sure what you mean
I downloaded the ifilter and installed it
then configured everything as shown in the pdf file
I tried indexing from scratch exactly as i did successfully in the other computer
and got some errors in the log file
i checked the sql server log and the event viewer logs and got :

the same dll worked fine in another computer...

QuickOffice and Adobe PDF scrolling folders proble...

Had this N8 phone for a few days.
Due to other problems Nokia Support guided me through soft and hard resets which whilst it solved the other issues it did not solve the following:
When opening either QuickOffice or Adobe Pdf and attempting to scroll through the folders the screen does not update for scroll and smudges up with the name of the folders..see attachment.
have found no solution as yet !
These apps cannot be re-installed and they are not in the apps manager..
What to do ?? ..any advice from Nokia ??

I have N8 and have teh same problem . When using quickoffice , scrolling file lists ends up with a smudged screen and all file names are merged and nothing can be read. However the same file lists can be scrolled without problems using teh file manager.
Yet to get feedback from Nokia regarding this

Difference between Export and Adobe PDF presets..?

It is possible to export a PDF from InDesign (CS3) using both the Export menu and the Adobe PDF Presets menu (both are sub-menus under File)
Technically they seem to do exactly the same thing, both allow you to use predefined presets to export your PDF.
What I am wondering is, are there any differences between the two? And if so, what are they?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

PDF Presets are what they are Presets. You may get a joboptions file from someone to use and use the PDF Presets to load the joboptions (pdf options) file into the Presets.
Then they become available in the Export Options.
Alternatively you can go into the PDF Presets and then choose to Save one of your presets to file, then email that or give the file to someone else to load onto their computer in their version of InDesign.
This way you can both have the same PDF export options.
But the presets are just a way to create, save, load and edit profiles that are available when you go to Export to PDF.

Internet download manager and adobe pdf add ons aren't working with FF4, but was fine with 3.6

I updated from ff3.6 to 4.0. After which the ff extensions of IDM 5.19 (internet download manager) and adobe pro pdf maker, were found to be incompatible. Any solutions?

1) When I go to the apple.com website my computer will either be really slow or freeze my whole system down to where I have to reboot my computer again. This does not happen all the time but when it does operate it is molasses slow.

Unable to edit the forms in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and adobe pdf reader.

i am unable to edit pdf forms . on clicking on the form text field error message comes as "font capture" message heading and content as
"C:\Windows\system32/ATMLIB.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support."

i reinstalled all aplication with old versions but sill have the same error .please give a solution . thank you.

thank you for the suggestion, but I do not have a "Send Email" or "Submit" button available in my version. I have "Attach to email" option which automatically opens a new message in MS outlook (which I did not set up, it just started doing so automatically) without any further dialogue boxes or options.
Also, this is only for regular PDF files, not forms.
