Oracle.forms api

I need the oracle.forms api for javabeans development, but i am unable to find it.
I have the JDAPI api, thats not what i want.
( I have searched oracle.forms api & documentation on google but i am unable to find them.
the link : http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/oracle9i_arch_901.html
contains a lot of documentation files, but i am not sure these are the ones that i need.
some of the files there are over 200 mb. before dowloading such heavy files, i want to be sure that they are the ones i need!!!)
I want to use the following packages / classes :-
oracle.forms.handler.IHandler
oracle.forms.ui.*
oracle.forms.properties.ID
I want to find out more about the above mentioned packages, and i thought that javadocs / api would be the most comprehensive help that i can get.
I have downloaded a few javabeans that were close to my requirement, and was going through the java source codes, thats where i encountered these classes / packages.
I amd using forms 9i. and Jdeveloper 9i

You should ask the experts in the forms forum (Forms

  • Oracle Forms API Development Kit

    Does anyone know where to find the forms development kit? I have done a search of OTN and of TechNet and have received 0 results. Does this exist any more? I found it referenced in the FormsAPI Master S/W.

    It's on http://otn.oracle.com/products/forms/techlisting.html - search for "Forms API Launchpad" on this page (it's close to the bottom).

  • Possible memory leak in forms api 6i

    There appears to be a bug in forms 6i.
    I am getting an error at the following snippet of code. The Name prints fine and the whole code runs great if i comment out free(v_value), but obviously i would not want to do that.
    I am using MS VC++ 6.0 compiler,
    The error is::
    HEAP[xephr.exe]: Invalid Address specified to RtlFreeHeap( 3540000, 364fc08 )
    This means that i am trying to free the memory which has already been freed, meaning thereby that api has already freed the memory associated with name. But then why should the api function d2fobgt_GetTextProp free the memory allocated for name as i am supposed to free it.
    Now that appears to be a bug.
    Please suggest...
    Here is that relevant code snippet...
    text* name;
    if (d2fobgt_GetTextProp(ctx, p_obj, prop_num, &name)==D2FS_SUCCESS)
    printf("\nName=%s\n", name); /* prints the name properly*/
    if ( v_value!=NULL )
    free(v_value); /* Raises error, Invalid Address specified to RtlFreeHeap, the error disappears if i
    comment out the free(value) line. */

    Hello :)
    I read your message cause i look for a answer to a big problem i encountered while trying sample code from Oracle Forms API : it's impossible to create the Forms API Context, the d2fctxcr_Create() function always return D2FS_FAIL.
    As your problem seem to be happened after this call, i wonder you can create the context without errors.
    Here the code I used, so perhaps you can see my error (I compile under VC6) :
    int main (int argc, char *argv[])
    d2fctxa ctx_attr;
    d2fctx *ctx;
    d2fstatus status;
    /* Create Forms API context */
    ctx_attr.mask_d2fctxa = 0;
    if ( (status=d2fctxcr_Create(&ctx, &ctx_attr)) != D2FS_SUCCESS )
    fprintf(stderr, "Error creating Forms API context (%d)\n",status);
    exit(1); /* ALWAYS GO THERE */

  • Is there an Oracle forms services trace java api

    Hi All,
    Is there a java api to use Oracle Trace on a running oracle form. I see that when I run the Oracle trace here it gets the correct item names. I want to be able to custom make my own trace files useing the oracle trace mechanism as a base. Is there a java api to develop our own forms trace?

    Is there a way in ADF to populate extra read-only text-columns in an af:table (based on a ViewObject) as was possible in Oracle Forms with a Post-Query-Trigger:
    Post-Query

  • Oracle Forms C/C++  API

    hi all,
    from where I can get Oracle Forms(6i/9i/10g) C/C++ API reference
    With regards
    Satheesh Kumar

    For C API, you can download Oracle technical white paper
    "Using the Oracle Forms Application Programming Interface (API)"
    http://www.oracle.com/technology//products/forms/pdf/274326.pdf
    The tree examples in the Form Builder online help contained errors.
    The programs have been corrected and presented in white paper.
    Note that you can also use JDAPI (Java Development API) for Oracle Forms 6i/9i/10g.

  • Where's the Oracle Forms Java API documentation for 11g?

    Hi,
    Can anyone point me in the direction of the Oracle Forms Java API documentation?
    The only thing I can find is this: http://www.oratransplant.nl/1012jdapiDoc/oracle/forms/jdapi/JdapiModule.html but this seems to be for 10.1.2 and it doesn’t correspond to the version I’m using (11.1.1.3).
    Help appreciated,
    Donal.

    i couldn't find the api either however if you implement the class you will simply get compiler errors explaining what you left out.

    U can open fmb using an editor like msword. It will have lots of

  • Integrate XMLP APIs with Oracle Forms

    Hi,
    I want to integrate XML Publisher's APIs with Oracle Forms. I have done the following to achieve this.
    1. Built a Java class to
    a.Handle the Data extraction from Database using the data template
    b.Convert the RTF to XSL-FO format
    c.Render the report by merging the xsl and the data xml files
    2.Created a jar file of the java class file
    3.Imported these classes into Oracle Form, using Jimporter
    All works fine, when I execute the form in a client-server architecture.
    But am getting the 105101 non-ORACLE exception if I run the form, when the form is deployed in an Application Server. I have set the classpath to all the xmlp APIs (xdocore.jar, xmlparserv2-904.jar, and the jar of my java class) in the .env file and also in the system's classpath.
    Could someone please clarify what else has to be done to set this right. Also, as I am relatively new to Java, can anyone clarify, the java class what I have used should be a servlet in case my Form is accessed via an Application Server or just the java class would serve the purpose.
    Thanks,
    Suresh

    Hi,
    I was able to resolve this, after I went through few threads in the same forum. I set the classpath to i18nAPI_v3.jar, collections.jar, versioninfo.jar files in the .env file apart from the xdocore.jar and xmlparserv2-904.jar.
    Now am able to execute the form and everything works fine!!
    Thanks,
    Suresh

  • API Doc for oracle.forms.ui and oracle.ewt available (Forms 9.0 PJC)?

    Hi there,
    where can I get the Java Docs for the oracle.forms.ui and oracle.ewt Packages for implementing Forms 9.0 PJC?
    Where can I get more docu about building PJCs? Found already some samples and
    Thanks, Markus

    At this time, the JavaDoc for these classes is not available.
    As a general rule you will find that the Methods and properties of the underlying oracle.ewt.* classes closely mirror the equivilent java.awt.* classes, so you should be able to gain a bit more information that way.
    And yes setDropDownVisible does pop the combo list down, but it's a protected method which might be why you're having problems with it?

  • How to print BIP reports from Oracle Forms?

    Hi all,
    I have a question in regards to printing BIP reports from Oracle Forms... We are aiming for a server installation of BIP with integration to Oracle Forms using SSO to handle security. We use Forms built-in web.show_document to render and view the report in PDF/Excel etc... We would like to by pass the viewing and print some of these reports directly to the printer.
    Any idea/suggestions how we can go about this?
    Thanks in advance for your time.
    Yahya

    Yahya,
    via HTTP it's not possible to send a report directly to the printer. You had to go via the Scheduler, which is able to do that. With the WebService API you can call a report with the Scheduler and Execute Immediate.

  • How to create and modify an XML file from an Oracle Form

    I would like to build an Oracle Form to maintain a small XML file in the file system (i.e. Not in Oracle database but in the operating system).
    I would like the Form to display existing values from the XML file and the user can update and save content back to the XML file.
    Can any one tell me how this can be done? Thanks.

    Does Forms 9i provide any XML Parser Functions?
    Can I insert the XML file into a table column by inserting XML using the XSU Front End rather than using TEXT_IO to maintain the XML file directly?
    Can I use XSU PL/SQL API in Forms to retrieve and modify XML values?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Kindly Help...

    You can just copy the relevant parts (the ones marked with error). You can also look at the timing
    when it happened the reports environment did not start.
    From what i remember this could be a memory issue, standard every managed server (WLS_FORMS and WLS_REPORTS) instance
    is configured with 1024m bytes of memory.
    What we did is first install a forms instance and after that a reports instance. After the forms installation we adjusted the
    memory parameters in setWLSEnv (<middleware-home>/user_projects/domains/<domain-name>/bin). Look in this file
    for references to WLS_FORMS (something similar to: if [ "${SERVER_NAME}" = "WLS_FORMS" ] ; then).
    Another thing which springs to my mind is, which products did you select. If you just want Forms and Reports
    you can select just the following:
    - Oracle Forms
    - Oracle Reports
    - Developer Tools aan.
    - Management Components
    - Oracle HTTP Server
    and deselect the other options:
    - Oracle Portal
    - Oracle Discoverer
    - Oracle WebCache
    - Clustered (if you are not using clustering)
    We also had to fix the following files (i do not think that you have to do this since your Forms did not show any problems):
    - (On Windows) Copy the file msvcr71.dll (FMW/windows/extra) to WINDOWS/system32.
    - Copy the file mod_wl_ohs.so (FMW/<operating-system>/extra) to <middleware-home>/as_1/ohs/modules.

  • Problem with Image IO jre on Oracle Form

    I'm using PJC to run my Text Editor program from Oracle Form. The Editor has an Image drag & drop option and I have to upgrade the jre with Image I/O API for this functionality. To upgrade jre the tool 'jai_imageio_1_0_01-lib-windows-i586-jre' needs to be installed. When I upgrade jre with this tool and run my program independently from Oracle Form, it runs well but when I run this right there from Oracle Form it doesn't run and exception is thrown on javax.imageio and other packages that are part of that tool even though the Oracle Developer's jdk is upgraded with this tool. Could anyone help me resolve this problem?

    Hi,
    This is a JDeveloper help forum, the Formsforum can be found at Forms Now you might think that Forms developers don't understand Java well enough, they do however understand teh Forms context and this is important to answr the question.
    a) Which Java version does your ben require?
    b) Are you using JInitiator or JavaPlugin (Jinitiator only supports Java 1.3)
    c) Is your PJC signed? Note that running an app stand alone as a Java app does not require special grants. Running it within a JavaApplet - as Forms is - does execute teh bean in a security sandbox, for which reasons the jar file must be signed and the public key be available in the Forms certdb.txt file (assuming Jinitiator)
    d) An exception stack trace gives more information than "Oracle Form it doesn't run and exception is thrown on javax.imageio and other packages", which is meanlingless to me and others. Teh stack trace canbe copied from teh JInitiator console
    I recommend resending this question to the Forms forum

  • Java swing/visual components in an Oracle Form

    Hello,
    Has someone used visual javabeans embedded in Oracle Forms ?
    is there a special api or componente to use?
    I want to embed a jclass javabean in an Oracle Form (oracle forms client)
    any help will be welcome, thanks

    There are examples of white papers on OTN which show how you can integrate Java Beans into the Forms UI.
    You may have some success with Swing but forms is based on AWT/EWT of which there was only and old (and not
    very good) Swing version.
    As I said - check out the white papers and you can try the demos which are on the Sample Code page.

  • Calling Web Service passing xml from Oracle Forms

    Hello,
    I need to call a .net web service from Oracle Forms that passes in xml data and returns xml data.
    I have seen several examples of how to create a wrapper in jdev and then to import the code

    I have a wrapper but cannot figure out where and what notation to use to include passing in
    an xml object.
    Does anyone have an example passing in xml where the wsdl is still available to see?'
    Forms version 10.1.2.0.2. Jdev 10.1.3.4
    Thanks,
    Linda

    Also here you have several options...
    1. you can make a PJC (bean) which include a webservice stub generated with axis (you can make a stub and also test a webservice with this tool: www.soapui.org)..
    2. you can make a database webservice with JPublisher and then just call a pl/sql wrapper for this webservice
    4. you can call a webservice with java api (HttpsURLConnection, HttpURLConnection or with apache HTTPClient api) from your PJC for example:
    the code below is used as java stored procedure to call a .net webservice on https
