Oracle Forms Patch 10 or 11 - Where on metalink

Has anyone tried to download patch 10 or 11 for Oracle Forms Developer (I have Forms6i Release 2)from the Metalink site? I am trying to get the patch number, note number or the right area to access metalink in order to download the patch. If anyone has done this, please point me in the right direction. I am trying to get the right link in Metalink but getting nowhere!

Zulqarnain Thanks Zulgarnain...its in the right direction. The ftp provides links to patches 3-9 but not the most recent ones (patches 10 and/or 11 for Windows NT/2000). If you come across any, please let me know.

Oracle Forms Patch 10 for 8i

Does Oracle Forms Patch 10 apply to Oracle 8i or do you have to be on 9i? Also, does applying patch 10, catch you up on all previous patches (1-9)?.

The latest Forms 6i patch is 12. It is not 8, 8i or 9i specific. You need to check the related certification matrix and review the patch readme file to find out if the fixed bugs valid for your platform/configuration. For example, if you are running Forms 6i against a 9.2 database, the only certified 6i patch is 12.
The patches are cumulative - patch 12 includes previous patch fixes.

Oracle Forms to open the Query Where dialog box

Hi,
"By typing a colon in a field, the end user can cause Oracle Forms to open the Query Where dialog box, allowing the end user to specify conditions that are too complex to specify by entering values into fields".
I have tried above thing, but where clause dialog box not opening.
Somebody can help me out.

How to write WHERE clause in dynamic record group in oracle forms

Oracle Forms 6i client/server against an Oracle 10gR2 database

Hello
We have the following situation:
Oracle Forms6i/Reports6i client server application against an Oracle 8i cost-based database. we want to migrate this application
step 1:
Migrate the database to 10gr2, but do not touch the client application
Go live
step 2:
Migrate the development environment to 6i webforms.
Production environment stays client server.
With this construction we can still create new patches/functionality.
step 3:
Migrate to Forms10gR2 (and reports)
I know Forms 6i is not supported anymore.
My question is on step 1.
When I read NOTE: 338513.1 entitled "Is Forms/Reports 6i Certified To Work Against Oracle Server 10g Rel 1, Rel 2 or 11g?" carefully
it says that Forms 6i is not certified against 10gR2.
On OTN I read several posts that this works ok (assuming you do not use the wrong character set).
I also read on OTN that patch 18 (which is only supported for EBS customers) is certified against 10gR2.
The questions:
- Is Oracle Forms patch 18 certified against an Oracle 10gR2 database? (or only for EBS)
- Is there anybody out there that can confirm that Oracle Forms 6i C/S works against Oracle 10gR2

I read this as follows:
Patch 18 was certified agains a 10g database in a webforms environment.
No client server mentioned and Server 10g , so no 10gR2!
I'm I right?

Problem with Image IO jar on Oracle Form

I'm using a PJC as a TextEditor on Oracle Form. The PJC uses JAI ImageIO jar that holds javax.imageio package. When I use the PJC right from Oracle Form it doesn't work whereas it works well independently. Please have a look on JInitiator Console message given below and let me know if possible how to get around this:

I need to tell that if I unjar my jar used for pjc I find that ok for javax.imageio package and also if I run my program other than on Oracle Form, it runs fine. I know regarding the signing issue of jar required to run pjc , so don't get concerned of it.

Hi...thanks for your suggestion. Which JavaPlugin do you suggest to implement? If you mean to upgrade the jre that is an installer found for various jdk versions, I have that...in that case I only need to know which version should I use. Moreover, installing that tool the jre of jdk gets upgraded...I don't know how to upgrade Jinitiator...please let me know this issue.

Also, I've only found very little book about oracle forms.

On the top right you can see a link to an education course and education material..
There are links to sample code and viewlets - the vewlets are a good place to start.
There are loads of white papers.

Using Safari to connect to ORACLE forms

Hallo,
I want to test Safari as a browser to connect to ORACLE forms (10/11). When I try to do this, it tells me that it needs to download and install the appropriate jInitiator. Although it is already installed on my PC (I am using IE and Firefox to connect) I chose to download and install again.
I have restarted Safari but it still does not connect to ORACLE forms.
How and/or where do I need to configure Safari to find the correct jInitiator and to connect to ORACLE forms?

Okay. We could do some basic-principles troubleshooting if you like. (The issue with that is that I'm not entirely sure if this is a deficiency in the current Safari versions, or if it's a problem with the Safari versions on your PC ... so there's a chance we'd be beating our heads against a wall trying to "fix" this.)
The first thing I'd be inclined to check on would be whether this is a systemwide or user-specific issue on the PC. (This isn't a cure in itself, but can give us a heads up on the possible nature of the problem.)
Head into your User accounts control panel and create a new user account with full administrative rights. Now log out of your usual account and log into the new account. (Don't use fast user switching to move between accounts.)
Launch Safari in the new account, and try connecting to the forms again. Do you get the error message again? or does it connect okay in there?

Installation guide for Oracle form/report 6i developer

Hi all,
Does anybody had an experienced to install Oracle form/report 6i developer or where i can find a step by step installation guide for Oracle form/report 6i developer? I've downloaded Oracle form/report 6i developer software and follow the installation guide but it's very unclear. And of course, failed few times. Please, help me out.
Note: My OS is rhel 3(update 6) and I picked custom install (because i just need Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Sql*Plus)

While calling From Oracle Forms 11g patch set 2(11.1.1.3.0) to Oracle Reports 11g patch set 2(11.1.1.3.0) I found unable to run report error
But its finely working in 10g. The Place of error is in find_report_object
Is any solution to resolve this problem like any registry setting or patches to solve this problem

I was able to download it from this link:

Although the site does appear to be having problems. I got intermittent errors of the page/server not being available.

Oracle Forms Server 6i Patch set 11

Can any body send me patch set 11 for oracle forms server 6i? I need it to test deploment in XP.

Unfortunately, patch 11 will not certify XP. Patch 12 might, but it is not promised. There are some issues with XP which are out of the control of the Forms group. It has to do with the 8.0.6 RSFs so we are all waiting for those issues to be resolved.

Where is default icons location in oracle form 10g

Hi,
Is your problem solved?
This issue occurs because gif images by default are not still images. These are graphical interchange images, i.e. images depicting some kind of action/motion.
If I am not wrong then just to test this out if you open the gif image you are looking at, in pbrush then image will appear in a corner. Now if you modify that image such that you copy only the icon in the corner and then save the copied icon in a new file in gif format then you will be able to see that image in the centre of button, rather over complete button.
