Hi,
I have to connect Oracle form with MS Access database. I have used ODBC to connect but failed and got error Ora-03121. Can someone help me to do it.

If you search for ODBC and ACCESS, you get a lot of links, one of them is this Re: Connecting Oracle forms 6i to MS Access

  • Oracle Form Personalization - Limit access to HR Lookup Table

Need to pose this to the experts. I need to see if through a form personalization i can restrict access to certain lookup tables that a responsibility has access to. So responsibility 'XXHR' can only see and update lookup tables 'XXHR_A' and lookup table 'XXHR_B' and not be able to see or update any other table.
Thanks in advance for your support

  • How compatible is Oracle forms with OCX / ActiveX components

How compatible is Oracle forms 6.0 with OCX / ActiveX components?
IFve got to very nice activeX controls (ctSchedule and ctMday)
from DBI-TECH(www.dbi-tech.com) but they donFt work properly
within Forms. They work great within VBA (word).
Sometimes they donFt display things well or donFt react to the
    mouse in the properly manner.
What can be wrong os is Oracle forms not 100% activeX compatible.

    Hi b w,
I do not know much about Simply Accounting, however, if the Crystal Reports can be integrated with this software, then their tech support would be the best one to answer the issue with limited access to reports.
Secondly, if you can get an ODBC driver for your Simply Accounting, you might be able to create reports in Crystal reports (Again with no guarantee as Simply Accounting does not fall in the supported platforms for Crystal Reports).
I would suggest you to contact the tech support of Simply Accounting to know if there is any specific version of Crystal reports that works best with your software.
It is simple to create highly professional reports with Crystal reports and you can either refer to the help included with the software or can log on to SAP support site and download the Crystal Reports user's guide to get step by step instructions on creating reports.
Please do let us know if you have any further questions.

  • Using form with mssql,access and oracle9i

Is it a good idea to use forms 9i with mssql, access and oracle 9i as back end
meaning using forms6i/9i as front end
what happens with datatype defined in mssql tables
    like smallint etc
    SEJ

Yes, I have read it. Good information, and it has gotten me close. If I follow what it says, I can get directly into insert mode ... however, update and delete buttons still exist.
Here are the exacts in my situation:
    1) created a dynamic page that creates a link generated from the function 'Portal30.wwv_user_utilities.get_url('my_application.my_link','parameter_name','parameter_value');'. Notice no relational operator.
    2) created a form that is based upon table 'b'. The value passed to this form by step 1 is a foreign key from table 'a'.
    3) created a link object that references form identified in step 2.
By clicking on the link generated by the dynamic page (with a parameter set and no conditional operators set), we go to the form in insert mode but we see all buttons. After your last note I decided to try a new, fresh, Portal generated form based upon table 'b', making the primary key and the foreign key hidden. I modified the link to reference this new form. By clicking the link, I go to the form in insert mode, but ALL buttons are showing, including query, next, and previous, even though some of these buttons are invalid.
I am using 3.07.? We are in the middle of installing 3.08 or 3.09, whichever we can get running first. My dba is out for the week, so I will not be able to upgrade until next week.
Any thoughts you have would be helpful. I am on the verge of creating 2 forms, but I don't want the code duplication if I can help it.
    Once again, thanks in advance.

  • Sending email from Oracle Forms with attachments

    Hi,
Is there any package or option available in Oracle forms to send email with attachments?
Your reply will be highly appreciated.
    Regds,

There are a couple of ways to send email (with attachements) from Oracle Forms. Check out these links to some examples.
    using OLE2 or CLIENT_OLE2 to access a mail-client via Mail-Api ( Get and set Outlook properties )
using MAILTO in conjunction with HOST or CLIENT_HOST to "start" a mail-client ( Re: Open Microsoft Outlook new massage with TO containing the email address )
using UTL_SMTP for database-side-mailing ( Re: Send mail with attachment )
    Hope this helps,

  • Access to graphical components in AddOn Forms with Indirect Access Licence

    Hi,
we have been developing an add on whose forms contain SAP Business One graphical components such as Calendar, Choose from list, calculator..
Our users who have indirect access licence havent' access to the graphical components Calendar and Calculator whereas they have access to choose from list.
SAP communicated in the fact that Indirect Access Licence doesn't allow user to have access to SAP Business One forms but nothing is mentioned about the graphical components used in Add On forms.
Moreover the difference of behaviour between Calendar and choose from list is not logic.
Do you know if SAP intends to fix this problem and allow users with Indirect Access Licence to have access to graphical components in Add On forms ?
Thank you in advance for your returns

    Thank you for your reply.
I'm afraid I do not undersand.
Do we have to develop again the graphical components Calendar and Calculator whereas they are available in the SDK ?
If yes, how do you do to develop these components ?
    Thank you in advance.

  • How use oracle forms with oracle database  in a local computer network(client -server homogenious network)

    Hello experts,
I am new in Oracle forms.I am using oracle forms 11g with weblogic server 10.3.5 and oracle database 11g at windows 7 platform.
I want to call my oracle forms(main  login form) from different computers(windows7) connected in a local network. My oracle database is installed in a server computer.I am not talking about oracle forms hosting in internet.I want to deploy oracle forms in a local computer network connected via LAN cable or wi-fi.
    thank You.
    regards
    aaditya

In most cases you can copy the same entry found in the tnsnames.ora file used by the database.  In the database home, the file can be found in \network\admin.  Open the file and you should find something like this:
    yourAlias =
      (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 192.168.0.100)(PORT = 1521))
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SERVICE_NAME = orcl)
So in the above, you would need to set the alias (this can be anything you like), the IP address or hostname of the machine where the database is running, the port number used by the db listener, and the service name used by the db.  Most of this will already be set for you if you are copying from the database tnsnames.ora.  So you should be able to just copy and paste.  More information about the tnsnames.ora file can be found in the db documentation:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/network.111/b28317/tnsnames.htm

  • Deploying Oracle Forms with Plss and dlls in Client/Server

    Hi,
I have a form application which has two plls libraries attached to it - d2kwutil.pll and d2kcomn.pll and one dll - d2kwutil.dll. All these libraries are necssary for the app to work. The issue come when I am trying to deploy them in different environments like dev, test,qa,prod. The users access the forms applications from a shared drive and all the users have forms runtime client installed on their local machines.
If I just post my fmx in the shared drive it doesn't work as its unable to find the plls and the dll. I will really appreciate if someone can provide some feedback on this. How this should be done so that we can place these plls and dll in central location without chaning the paths etc.
    Thanks

Oracle Application Server Release 3 can not be used to deploy forms and reports.
If you want forms and reports you need to stay on Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2

  • Configure Oracle Forms with Proxy user

    Hi Everyone,
We have successfully enabled SSO with OAM, OID and used proxy user on the RAD config for forms and reports as described in thie doc: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14571_01/web.1111/e10240/sso.htm#BABBEFGJ
Our problem is our forms user account has been prefixed with 'ops$' and we don't want to use 'ops$' for our OID useraccount. Is there a way to remap or prefix an OID user and tell form to use it to connect to DB using a proxy user? E.g.:
    1. OID user - scott
    2. DB user/Form user - ops$scott
    3. Proxy user - midtier
    Any insights is greatly appreciated.

  • For Update Query with Wait Clause from ORACLE Forms

    Hi
We are using Oracle Forms 10g running with 10g database 10.2.0.1.0. We happend to see a query which is getting generated in AWR report like Select rowid, all_columns from TableName for Update of C1 Nowait. But no such query is really written in forms and we are aware that, Any query prefixed with rowid is definitely executing from Forms. But how the ForUpdate and Nowait clause is appended to the query.
We have checked the following properties in the database Block
*1) Locking Mode is set to Automatic*
*2) Update Changed Columns only is set to YES*
*3) Query all records is set to No (Though this particular property may not be relevant to the issue)*
What is the property or setting which might trigger such a query from ORACLE Forms with ForUpdate and Nowait clause.
Any ideas/suggestions on why such behaviour. Please have a healthy discussion on this. Thanks in advance.

Why have you started another thread on the same thing?
FOR UPDATE cursor is causing Blocking/ Dead Locking issues
Just use one thread to avoid confusion.
The fact that nobody has answered on the other thread for a couple of days could be to do with it being the weekend and most people are not at work.
Either be patient or, if it's more "urgent" than that, raise a SR/Tar with Oracle metalink.

  • How to connect oracle with ms access database

    Dear
We are on release r12, right now we have requirement to connect oracle database with ms access to get some information. We have found gateway(Heterogeneous services) using ODBC, but at the database side where is installed oracle r12 there is no installed ms access software becuse of linux operating system, so how could it will connect ms access because without installing ms-access we are unable to find ms ODBC gateway in ODBC driver under the control panel.
Can any body guide me how could achieve this
    Edited by: oracle0282 on Sep 21, 2011 12:47 AM

If I understand you correctly you want to access Oracle on Linux from MS-Access (possible on Windows only). You need neither a gateway nor Heterogeneous Services, but an Oracle client including ODBC driver (Instant client with ODBC driver is enough) on the Windows machine.
Configure the ODBC driver with the connect informations to the Oracle server.
