Oracle Fulfillment Server crashing

Hello Friends,
I have EBS-12 installed on a Windows machine(Win2003 EE). Few days back the setup was working fine. Now when i fire the EBS URL the Oracle Fulfillment Server is crashing. Even if i start it from the services, it crashes for the very first request.
Any idea why this behaviors? Your thougths and commes are welcomed.
Thanks in advance.

Check the event viewer and post the error here (Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer).
I would also suggest you run AutoConfig and check then.

  • Oracle BI Server crashed?

    Hi all,
I've had a really disturbing issue with OBISE1 today which i hope you guys can shed some light on.
During an OBI demonstration the performance went down the drain after about 30 minutes. While i was logged in and demonstrated dashboards/reports, 22 other users in the same room were also logged in and followed my steps through the dashboards. After those 30 minutes dashboards and reports just stopped loading and errors started popping out on all screens. At the end even logging off took a minute.
At the location there was a fast internet line, so im ruling that out as an issue. After
Afterwards when i checked the server i noticed Oracle BI Server stopped.
I checked eventviewer and found the following from the VsJITDebugger that occured at 2:26:30 PM :
An unhandled win32 exception occurred in NQSServer.exe [1948]. Just-In-Time debugging this exception failed with the following error: Debugger could not be started because no user is logged on.
Check the documentation index for 'Just-in-time debugging, errors' for more information.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
Another thing that I found from the Service Control Manager that occured at 2:26:39 PM :
The Oracle BI Server service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this 1 time(s).
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
This sounds like an OBISE1 issue. So I digged some deeper and found the following.
The NQSServer log doesn't show anything that happened during this time period.
The NQSQuery log only shows -------------------- Cache Purge of query: records.
The sawlog0.log did show a lot of errors, covering about 500 MS Word pages :
    1. Exception in handler thread. An error occurred during execution of "send". An unknown error occurred in the sockets library. [Socket:4848]
    This happened 16 times
    2. Odbc driver returned an error (SQLExecDirectW).
    State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred.
[nQSError: 27004] Unresolved table: "QPO". (HY000)
This happened 225 times for this and another table
    3. SQLFetchScroll returned code SQL_NO_DATA_FOUND
    This happened 118 times
I still don't clearly see what happened that made OBI crash, why i received the errors in sawlog0.log and where i can find more information about this.
Can anyone advise me what to do, because I do need an answer to the question what caused this??

If given info helps pls mark.
Appreciate if you update your issue and the bug details

That looks like a SEGV in the Oracle client libraries. You might try
using the Oracle Thin driver since that's all-java. Otherwise, you
might check with Oracle if there are any patches to the 8.1.7 client libs.

I am using Oracle Application Server 9.0.3. Simple JSP application is running on it. We are using the application server connection pooling functionality. Following errors are occuring on it frequently and it causes the application server crash.
First application response gets slow and eventually application server gets lock and it wont respond and we have to restart the application server. Our application is in production mode and we need to solve this issue immediately.

  • Oracle VM server crashes with disk corruption using SATA 2

Created OEL 5 x86_64 on a HVM and occassionally the VM server crashes with the following messages on the console:
    ata1.0.0 tag 0 cmd 0x25 Emask 0x4 stat 0x40 err 0x0 timeout (frozen)
failed to recover some devices retrying in 5 seconds
comreset failed to respond in 30 seconds
port is too slow to respond, delay is known to occur on vacant sata ports
    BMDMA stat 0x24
hardreset failed retry in 5 secs
After this I've no other option but to perform a hard reboot of the system. Down the road I installed oracleasmlib-2.0.3-1.el5.x86_64 and the above problem was persistent when the oel5 virtual machine boots up. I just couldn't get the virtual machine to start. I tried many workarounds but didn't work. I finally disabled SATA2 in the bios and enabled SATA1 and the system has been stable for the past 2 days. Originally my bios was set to SATA1+2.
I guess there's a bug with OEL 5 kernel on VM's using SATA 2 driver.

If it was a hardware issue I'd imagine that this problem would have been occuring only on one machine. I had this problem on all my 3 machines where I had setup VM and OEL5. Prior to this, I had OEL 4u4 running on all these machines and everything worked fine.

  • Oracle 8i client with oracle 9i server

    hi friends..
i have oracle 8i server and clients..my oracle 8i server crashed.
so i am planning to install oracle 9i server.
will i be able to connect oracle 8i clients on to oracle 9i server? is there any procedure for getting this connection.?
    Please help

Look up the documentation for questions like this, under 'backwards compatibility'
You can't configure a client to work with a higher release, it works or it doesn't work.
    This one will work.

  • CSS keepalives for Oracle forms server

I'm trying to set up load balancing for oracle forms server and having issues with finding working keepalive method.
If I use uri keepalive, Oracle forms server crashes within a couple of minuites. TCP doesn't work either
    service Ora-forms:9000
    ip address 192.168.0.34
    port 9000
    keepalive type http
    keepalive uri "/alive.gif"
    keepalive frequency 30
It works for Oracle web server tho.
What keepalive do you guy use for Forms server?

Here is what a script looks like using the "graceful" close approach..Graceful is at the bottom.
    Regards
    Pete..
    !no echo
    ! Filename: ap-kal-fin
    ! Parameters: ip address
    ! Description:
! This script will open and close a socket on port 80.
! The close will be a FIN rather than a RST
    ! Failure Upon:
! Not establishing a connection with the host.
! Make sure the user has a qualified number of arguments
    if ${ARGS}[#] "LT" "1"
    echo "Usage: ap-kal-fin ip address.'"
    exit script 1
    endbranch
! Connect to the remote Host
set EXIT_MSG "Connect: Failed to connect to ${ARGS}[1]"
socket connect host ${ARGS}[1] port 80 tcp 2000

  • Oracle 9iAS Orion Server Crashes on Running RWSERVLET

We are developing a product with JSP as front end,EJB as middle tier and Oracle as DB.Oracle 9iAS is the deployment environment. We are using the RWSERVLET configuration. We have configured Orion to communicate with RWSERVLET.Rwservlet copied to web-inf/classes folder, entry given in web.xml accordingly. Two JAR files copied to lib folder. When the first request goes from client the report is getting displayed fine.
There is a delay in displaying the output of the request. If in case another request is sent from the same client before the first request is served by the reports server, the RWServlet makes the Orion of Oracle 9iAS to crash. The middle tier aborts with the following message..
    # HotSpot Virtual Machine Error, EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
    # Error ID: 4F533F57494E13120E43505002D4
    abnormal program termination
Also, in reports there is no way of finding whether the report server is still serving the request or has finshed the request,so that atleast we can stop the user from making the second request,if the report server is serving the first request.IS IT A BUG IN RWSERVLET???? - Oracle Reports Team.Has it been rectified??.Is there a way of finding whether the report server has served the request or not??.We are in the end of our project and Oracle Reports have created this problem for us....
    Please help Oracle Reports Team.Help!!!!!!

    hello,
for your problem with the crash of OC4J, i would contact oracle support services.
if you set up the reports server database queues, it will mirror the server queue into a database table, where you can check what the status of your job is.
    regards,
    the oracle reports team --pw

  • Oracle Report Server with Weblogic crash

    Hello,
I am using Report Server 6i on WinNT and the web server used is WebLogic 6.0.. The reports generated are of HTMLCSS format or PDF format.
Cud U please send the replies for the below queries at the earliest..
1.The data in the generated report is well formatted and the pages exceeds 300.
If the report generated is of PDF format then it displays the report in less than 2 minutes.
We do get this report with HTML format also but with out the border for the tables.
Since we need the report with border to the tables, we are using HTMLCSS format. But we are facing problems with HTMLCSS format. HTMLCSS format report never shows up in the browser. The browser just Hangs up
However if the number of pages of the generated report is around 10, then the report is displayed in the browser in HTMLCSS format, without any problem.
Is there any way to get the border to the tables using HTML instead of HTMLCSS or Could u suggest us any solution for displaying report in HTMLCSS format.
    2. If a report requested is of HTMLCSS format, and as mentioned above if the number of pages to be displayed is too large, before the report is displayed completely, if the browser is closed, then the Web Server associated with the Report Server crashes with the following error message based on type of JVM used
Please find the attached Error in quotes :
"In case of Classic JVM, a dialog box is displayed with the following message,
The instruction at "0x503b1709" referenced memory at "0x0000000c".The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the application
Click on CANCEL to debug the application
In case of Hotspot JVM, the error displayed on the console of the Web Server is
    Unexpected Signal : EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION occurred at PC=0x6d449cef
    Function name=(N/A)
    Library=C:\jdk1.3.1_02\jre\bin\hotspot\jvm.dll
NOTE: We are unable to locate the function name symbol for the error
just occurred. Please refer to release documentation for possible
    reason and solutions."
We had contacted the Weblogic people and the SUN people for the crash of the webserver .
We got the following replies from both them
    Weblogic:
Hmm, looks like your native method is causing the JVM to crash. Notice that the current java thread is calling the native method from the Oracle servlet when the crash occurs. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
You need to contact Oracle about this.
    SUN:
Sounds to me like this servlet is executing some native code that does something illegal with memory, like a bad pointer access. That's often the cause of a segmentation violation and this kind of crash report from the JVM.
I would pursue the matter with Oracle, the vendor of your servlet, if you haven't already.
We had posted this in metalink also, but we could not get the solution for this problem.
So could you please look into this and send us the reply ASAP as it is very urgent.
    Regards
    Sudipta
