  • Integration with Oracle Fusion Apps SaaS

    Hi,
I have the following integration requirement in my on-premise SOA/ADF application
    1) Get Service Contract details from Oracle Fusion apps cloud instance ( Enterprise Contracts) given a contract number. The details include i) Name ii) Owner iii)Type iv) Business Unit v) Start Date vi) End Date viii) Party details etc..
    2) Create/Get Invoice in Fusion apps cloud instance ( Oracle Financials Cloud ?) from my application.
    3) Create an Order into the the Oracle Fusion apps Order management cloud from my application.
For the same, I started looking into the OER (https://fusionappsoer.oracle.com/) provided by oracle to find Assets/Services that help us integrate with the SaaS.
However, I could not find a right service for my above requirements. Here are my findings ( right or wrong) :
    =======================================
    a) For Order Creation ( requirement (2) above):
-> For Creating an Order, I see a service called Sales Order Service (oracle.apps.crmCommon.orders.salesOrdersService.SalesOrderService) but this service only CRUD's Sales Order Header where as I am looking for a service that needs.
-> I found another service ( Composite service) ,Get Orchestration Order Service (11.1.7.0.0), Operation: GetOrderDetails , that may get me order details but doesnt give me a way to create an order as I didn't find any operation for Create/Generate.
-> Another Asset =>File Based Data Import: Purchase Orders Import (11.1.9.0.0) that Imports purchase orders from external systems into Oracle Fusion Purchasing.
But not sure how to use it. The documentation is duanting here.
    b) For Getting contract details
-> While looking for a service that would would cater my "get contract details" need, I could find only Contract Type , Contract Business unit services but no service ( ADF or composite) that would give me all the contract details.
    c) For Invoice creation / get - I found these but not sure which one to pick.
-> Request Invoice Orchestration Task for Fusion Systems Service (11.1.8.0.0) Description:Provides the ability to communicate with the Oracle Fusion Invoicing application to perform create operations.Type: Composite Service. Process Provides the ability for Oracle Fusion Receivables to perform create operations.
    -> Product Family: Financials
ADF Service: Receivables Invoice Service (11.1.9.0.0)
    Operations: createSimpleInvoice, invoiceHeaderInformation,createInterfaceLine,processInterfaceLine
    Service Path: https://<fin_server:PortNumber>/finArTrxnsInvoices/InvoiceService?WSDL
    Abstract WSDL URL: rep://R9_FUSIONAPPS_HOSTEDREP/oracle/apps/financials/receivables/transactions/invoices/invoiceService/InvoiceService.wsdl
-> ADF Service: Receivables Invoice (11.1.9.0.0) Service Path: http://<fin_server:PortNumber>/finArTrxnsAutoInvoices/AutoInvoicesBCService?WSDL
    Abstract WSDL URL: rep://R9_FUSIONAPPS_HOSTEDREP/oracle/apps/financials/receivables/transactions/autoInvoices/autoInvoicesService/v1/AutoInvoicesBCService.wsdl
    ======================================
Can someone help me here in helping me find a right service / way to fullfill my above requirements?
    Thanks,
    Sridhar.

    Hey Reo,
We need to do few configuration steps to integrate both products
you can refer to the metalink2 doc id : 552735.1
    https://metalink2.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/f?p=130:14:3427836754632619337::::p14_database_id,p14_docid,p14_show_header,p14_show_help,p14_black_frame,p14_font:NOT,552735.1,1,1,1,helvetica
Remember, if u integrate EBS & OBIEE, you cannot directly login to BI. Instead, you always need to navigate from EBS only..

  • Integrating Oracle Fusion Sales Cloud with Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Service (BICS)

Ever wondered how to integrate Oracle Fusion Sales Cloud with Business Intelligence Cloud Service (BICS) ?
The blog outlines how to programmatically load Sales Cloud data into BICS, making it readily available to model and display on BICS dashboards.
    http://www.ateam-oracle.com/integrating-oracle-fusion-sales-cloud-with-oracle-business-intelligence-cloud-service-bics/

I wouldn't try installing Oracle VM itself on an EC2 instance, as EC2 is essentially Xen itself. Rather, you should just be able to transport existing Oracle VM images to the EC2 cloud. I think this is what you mean, but your opening paragraph is slightly ambiguous. :)
From a VPN perspective, I'd use OpenVPN as it has clients for all major operating systems (Windows, MacOS X, Linux) that are fairly easy to package and install. Packages for OpenVPN exist in EPEL so it's easy to install on OEL5. You could also consider using a firewall instead of a VPN and only allowing connectivity from specific IP addresses/ranges. This has the benefit of not requiring client software, but it does require a fixed IP address/range on the client-side.

  • OpenWorld: Explore What's New in Oracle Fusion Middleware's Web Frontier

    Hello All -
We have a dedicated Web Tier session at the upcoming OpenWorld in San Francisco, Moscone West.
Oracle Web Tier has comprised Oracle HTTP Server and Oracle Web Cache. Now, with the Sun acquisition, the Oracle Web Tier product line includes Oracle iPlanet Web Server (formerly Sun Java System Web Server) and Oracle iPlanet Web Proxy Server (formerly Sun Java System Web Proxy Server). The new app_grid_plugin consolidates some past plug-ins to connect to the Oracle application grid. Oracle HTTP Server (based on the upcoming Apache 2.4) and Oracle iPlanet Web Server Release 7.1, part of Oracle Database 11g Release 2, will introduce new capabilities. This session showcases these new developments in scalability, security, and manageability best practices for deploying Oracle Web Tier in Oracle Fusion Middleware production environments.
Title: Oracle Web Tier: Explore What's New in Oracle Fusion Middleware's Web Frontier

"What is BPEL y we require that."
Other people cited good "what is BPEL" technical information. In plain words, BPEL is an XML-based language to implement business processes, to integrate data from various applications so everyone can see it whether it is originally flat-file, XML, messages, legacy systems, whatever.
    Why "we" require it:
Part 1 (Managers): Allows integrators to quickly build systems based on business process diagrams by non-technical business analysts. Makes data from many applications available to the business, particularly for "real time" monitoring of how the business is doing.
Part 2 (Engineers): Allows us to get process specifications from the business users and rapidly build applications. Once an XML and/or web-service interface is created for a legacy application, we can re-use it immediately to integrate with other systems.
I suspect others will clarify/add to this.
    Regards,
    Andy

  • Capturing error messages from Oracle EBS APIs when using Oracle Apps Adapter

We are using Oracle applications adapter to call Oracle EBS (both R11.5 and R12) APIs. I want to understand the best practice around error handling when using Oracle Apps Adapter to call Oracle EBS.
    Here are some observations:
    1. Most of the APIs return X_RETURN_STATUS and X_MSG_DATA containing the status and messages if any.
    2. If the MSG COUNT is 1 then X_MSG_DATA contains the message, if MSG COUNT is > 1. X_MSG_DATA is empty.
We know that when calling the API directly from PL/SQL, we need to loop through FND_MSG_PUB to fetch all messages when there are more than 1. How do we achieve the same using Apps Adapter as Apps Adapter generates the PL/SQL block to call the API dynamically at runtime.
In some APIs, which have table/rec types as input or output parameters, Apps Adapter generates a wrapper package to do conversion from SQL--> PL/SQL and viceversa. In this case the adapter calls the custom package generated which internally calls the API. For these APIs we were able to put the logic to loop through FND_MSG_PUB and return a concatenated string as value of X_MSG_DATA.
But what should we do for the APIs which do NOT have a rec/table type as input or output, in which case the Apps Adapter directly calls the API and there is no intermediate custom package?
    How are others handling this?

  • Oracle Fusion Middleware MapViewer Version 12c

Mapviewer 12c recently became available on OTN, but there is no documentation yet.
    (Oracle Fusion Middleware MapViewer)
Does any one know when the supporting docs (and demos) will be available?

Thanks so much.  I had not seen that link.  I was relying on the original Mapviewer page on Oracle's site (Oracle Fusion Middleware MapViewer), but Oracle had not been updated with this new documentaion information.  It only provided the download for Mapviewer 12c.  Thanks again.

  • Re: What is oracle fusion

Thanks Avinash for initiating the old thread that I tried to hijack.
Thanks VB and Duncan for the excellent details.
However , I have some queries as below
    1. Does the functional concepts of HCM remains Same in Oracle Fusion as of Oracle R12 ?
    2. For a technical guy , how easy it is to switch to Oracle fusion who worked on Oracle R12 or 11i Instances ?
    3. Can you please give us a learning plan to touch base the Oracle Fusion ?
    Thanks
    Regards
    Raghu

    Hi Raghu,
    1. Does the functional concepts of HCM remains Same in Oracle Fusion as of Oracle R12 ?
Most of the concepts will be the same as EBS, Some of them are taken from peoplesoft.
Documentation is still not extensive, but you can find some here -
    Oracle Fusion Applications Documentation
    2. For a technical guy , how easy it is to switch to Oracle fusion who worked on Oracle R12 or 11i Instances ?
ADF, SOA, XML & web services will be the key from technical perspective.
Oracle Fusion Applications Technology Documentation Library 11g Release 6 (11.1.6)
    3. Can you please give us a learning plan to touch base the Oracle Fusion ?
There is no straightforward answer to this.
    The above documents should help.
OR check the oracle university - http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/ou_product_category.getPage?p_cat_id=126

  • Fusion APPS or EBS 11i/R12

    Hi All,
I am working as oracle apps dba from last 5 yr. I have experience in apps install, configure, PCP, Cloning, Patching, Production support, Performance tuning, GRC, OTM, LSH etc etc…
From last few months I am working on fusion 11g products like SOA, Weblogic, OSR, OER, IDM, OIM. Can anyone suggest me whether I should stick on 11i/R-12 or slowly I should move to oracle Fusion Apps (Next generation ERP) which is not released yet.
    Advantage and Disadvantage:
11i/R-12(Advantage): Stayable product. Still we don’t know all the features of R-12 and 11g DB
11i/R-12(Disadvantage): currently nothing, but not sure what will happen once Fusion apps will come to market. But I think it will run for next 5-10 yr minimum
Fusion(Advantage): New technology, future of oracle ERP.
Fusion(Disadvantage): No resource available, not tested & also not proved yet.
Please suggest me logically what should we do.
Note:: I am not talking about only fusion products. I am talking about FUSION APPS which is next generation ERP combination of EBS, PeopleSoft, Siebel, JD and all are based on fusion products. Everything under one umbrella.
    Warm Regards,
    S. Karim

    Hi,
In the software field ,we cant stick or stay in same product for long time....we need to update and adopt to new technologies..
As a APPS DBA , we cant say we know everything about 11i or R12 still we shld keep on learning....
Fusion is not a ERP like 11i and R12 ,it is a middleware having all oralce products including ERP plugins and Oracle planning to keep all its products can be inter-connected thro Fusion and non-oracle products too...
So learning a fusion wil not reduce ur APPS DBA skills.. so first understand the concept and DBA role in Fusion and learn that...

  • Fusion Apps Skinning

I know there are a few guidelines for skinning Fusion Apps per say, but a customer is interested in skinning Worklistapp and Webcenter that come as part of Fusion Apps.
Any guidelines around Worklistapp and Webcenter skinning?
I found this link for Webcenter, but I'm not sure if this is applicable for Fusion Apps.

  • Fusion Apps web service call fails with error access denied (oracle.wsm.security.WSFunctionPermission)

    Hello Guru,
I am trying to call a supplier service from SOA/OSB.
But while calling the service it is failing with the below error message
    access denied (oracle.wsm.security.WSFunctionPermission http://xmlns.oracle.com/apps/prc/poz/suppliers/supplierService/SupplierService#getSupplierVO invoke)
As per OER cookbook i have attached the "oracle/wss_username_token_client_policy" to the Fusion  apps web service.
I am trying to pass security credentials to the service by using all the methods... through composite ..through bpel through wsse header but in all cases i am getting similar error.
Please let me know if some one has called the fusion apps web service to create a supplier of solution to my problem  as mentioned above.

    Hi Sai,
Thanks for the quick and correct response. Yes, after doing the research, I'm also came to same conclusion. But what stops me here is that where exactly I need to check for this permission.
I mean the theory what I built on this Authorization/Permission is that:
For the resource - WebService (SupplierService), there is an assigned application role for which the Entitlement/Permission is provided.
Pls. help me in the below items:
    a. What is the application role(in role hierarchy) assigned to this resource(Webservice). Which page I need to check(navigation) this and the required credentials..
    b. What is the Entitlement provided for this application role for this operation (getSupplierVO) invoke.. Which page I need to check(navigation) this and the required credentials..
    Thanks in Advance.
    Thanks & Regards
