Oracle Fusion HCM.
Hi,
I need to do conversion of data from legacy system to Oracle Fusion HCM.
Like Ebiz do we have any API's to move HCM data in fusion? If so where I can get it.
Thanks,
Sankara K
Hi Sankara,
Please check if this metalink note will be of any help to you. Here they have mentioned for coexistence model, but i guess this gives us information on how data can be migrated from EBiz to Fusion HCM.
An Overview of the Main HR2HR Integration Stages in the Fusion HCM CoExistence Model [ID 1332571.1]
Kindly let me know if this work, as even i have a similar requirement to work. But currently i do not have any access to the fusion instance, so i wasn't able to test this.

What are the installation steps for Oracle Fusion HCM
Hi all
I will like to ask, what are the installation steps for Oracle Fusion HCM as well as can it work on Windows or only on virtual machine?
ThanksIf you're looking to install Fusion HCM, your best bet is to install on linux, eg, Oracle Enterprise Linux. It's up to you whether you put that in a Virtual Machine or not. I don't think Windows is an available platform for Fusion Apps at the moment, although am prepared to be corrected if you find anything to the contrary!
If you're looking to do an install on your own PC/laptop, you're probably out of luck - you'll be needing around 128GB of RAM. Check out this post:
http://onlineappsdba.com/index.php/2011/11/02/fusion-applications-128-gb-memory-and-500-gb-disk-space-are-you-ready/
Atul has also posted some good stuff on installing:

Oracle Fusion HCM documentation
Hi,
I am new to Oracle Apps R12 and I want to learn Oracle HCM from scratch. I am Oracle Apps technical developer. I know general navigation of Oracle Apps R12. Where can I find documentation for HCM?
Is there much difference in Oracle Fusion and Oracle R12? Which version will be useful? Can I directly learn Oracle Fusion HCM or do I have to start with R12 first?
Please help.
Thanks,
Aditya
Edited by: 905620 on Feb 26, 2012 11:03 PMDocumentation for R12 can be found at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/documentation/applications-167706.html
Documentation for Fusion Apps can be found at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/documentation/fusion-apps-doc-1508435.html
Both these releases have different functionality and can be learned independently of each other.
For HCM, Oracle Fusion utilizes a lot of functionality that has been adopted from Peoplesoft.

Is HCM Data Loader functional on fusion HCM release 8? or will it be on release 9?
I understand that the long-term plan for data loading is to provide a single tool, which is referred to as HCM Data Loader.
HCM Data Loader is intended to provide the standard data-import solution and a single entry point for managing bulk data loading to Oracle Fusion HCM.
What is the task to use this tool? (document with explanations)
Also can someone explain (in short) when to use each one the functions currently delivered by HCM File-Based Loader, HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader,
and some of the specialized data loaders and the tasks needed to get to this tools.I have no knowledge of HCM feature availability, however this seems duplicate of this support forum thread. Adding the link here in case someone else is looking for the same information.

How to get a Fusion HCM demo version
Hi,
I'm a new Oracle Partner, discovering this great OPN CloudConnection community. We are an ISV who develops a virtual assistant to help/support users of business apps (ERP, CRM, HR...)
A customer of mine is asking us to develop a POC in order to validate that our virtual assistant is correctly integrated with Oracle Fusion HCM.
How to do that ? is there a place, where we could test Fusion HCM ?
Thanks for your help
AlainHello,
For Electronics Workbench 5.x you don't need a Release Code, only your Serial Number. If you need the installer please send the request to [email protected], include your Serial Number and contact information.
Have in mind that we no longer support version 5, the installer could fail depending on your operating system.

Oracle EBS HR and Fusion HCM comparison
Hi All,
Can someone give me comparison of EBS HR and Fusion HCM organization structure? For example, in EBS HR we have business group. What is the comparable object in Fusion HCM? Likewise, what are the other one to once comparison in organizational hierarchy? And what are the new levels added / removed in Fusion HCM?
Thanks,
CAHHave you looked at the documentation and see if it helps?

I'm not sure if you can find a comparison documented at Oracle websites so you might log a SR and see what Oracle support would suggest.

Hi Folks -
I am getting the below error when I try to run the HcmCompWorkbenchWorkarea.jspx in the Fusion COmpensation Module, locally from the JDeveloper Customization Role.
I simply created a FUsion Customization APplication with a Customization,Model and View COntroller Projects without doing any customizations and was just trying to run the above page.
I have never encountered this type of error before. Any help would be helpful.

Upgrading Oracle fusion Middleware from 11.1.7 to 11.1.8?
Hi
Currently, we are running on 'Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g (11.1.7)'. Management is keen to know, what patches needs to be applied for upgarding to 11.1.8 for Financials, HCM and IDM? I searched a lot in metalink, but could not succeed.
Please anybody help me finding this information.

ArizHi,
Could you please reconfirm the version whether the Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g is 11.1.1.7.0 and you need it to be upgraded to 11.1.1.8.0.
Incase if you are referring to IDM 11.1.1.8.0 then there is no IDM in 11.1.1.8.0 because 11.1.1.7.0 is the latest release for IDM.

Re: What is oracle fusion
Thanks Avinash for initiating the old thread that I tried to hijack.
Thanks VB and Duncan for the excellent details.
However , I have some queries as below
1. Does the functional concepts of HCM remains Same in Oracle Fusion as of Oracle R12 ?
2. For a technical guy , how easy it is to switch to Oracle fusion who worked on Oracle R12 or 11i Instances ?
3. Can you please give us a learning plan to touch base the Oracle Fusion ?
Thanks
Regards
RaghuHi Raghu,
1. Does the functional concepts of HCM remains Same in Oracle Fusion as of Oracle R12 ?
Most of the concepts will be the same as EBS, Some of them are taken from peoplesoft.
Documentation is still not extensive, but you can find some here -
Oracle Fusion Applications Documentation
2. For a technical guy , how easy it is to switch to Oracle fusion who worked on Oracle R12 or 11i Instances ?
ADF, SOA, XML & web services will be the key from technical perspective.
Oracle Fusion Applications Technology Documentation Library 11g Release 6 (11.1.6)
3. Can you please give us a learning plan to touch base the Oracle Fusion ?
There is no straightforward answer to this.
The above documents should help.
OR check the oracle university - http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/ou_product_category.getPage?p_cat_id=126

Oracle Fusion Order Demo Application For JDeveloper error
HI,
i try to run the (Oracle Fusion Order Demo Application For JDeveloper) Fusion Order Demo (FOD) is an end-to-end application sample :
when i try to : Right click build.xml and choose Run Ant Target > buildAll . error coming
Buildfile: C:\JDeveloper\FusionOrderDemo_R2_1_revised\Infrastructure\Ant\build.xml
init:
[javac] Compiling 1 source file to C:\JDeveloper\FusionOrderDemo_R2_1_revised\Infrastructure\Ant\classes
setProperties:
createDatabase:
refreshSchema:
BUILD FAILED

how i can run the build.xmlHi,
not quite sure the question is clear. The add cart command is a link defined in the JSPX file
<af:commandLink partialSubmit="true"
actionListener="#{shoppingCartBean.addItemToCart}"
id="cl3">
that points to
public void addItemToCart(ActionEvent evt) {
Map attributes = evt.getComponent().getAttributes();
invokeUpdateOp(new Integer(attributes.get( PRODUCT_ID_COL )+ ""));
in StoreFrontModule\StorefrontUI\src\oracle\fodemo\storefront\cart\view\managed\ShoppingCartBean.java . This is where you follow up then.
+"how i can make Repetition for the items in home.jspx"+
I can only assume you mean how to create the catalog items. Here I suggest you look at the demo source as this is what the demo is for. If you are new to ADF, I recommend that you first run a tutorial from here
If you are on 11g R1: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/overview/index-100269.html
If you are on 11g R2: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18941_01/tutorials/toc.htm
No demo can replace proper learning, to be honest
