Also Bar column Label getting symbol as star(*). What is the problem? Is it possible to show the higher value like 1000->1k,400000->400K in axis label and in Bar field label and how? • How to add Oracle Graphics 6i charts (OGD) to my Oracle Reports 10g

    Hi,
Is there any possibility to add Oracle Graphics 6i Charts (.OGD) to Oracle Reports 10g
    (OR)
If not possible, Can you please provide steps to migrate OGD to any format that is supported in Oracle Reports 10g.
    Regards,
    Swethan

Oracle Graphics and its OGD image format are no longer supported. Reports built with previous versions of Oracle Reports containing Oracle Graphics charts will continue to run in Oracle Reports 10g Release 2 (10.1.2) if the Oracle Graphics 6i runtime is installed on the same machine in a separate ORACLE_HOME. However, this is not a supported configuration, and Oracle will not fix bugs that result from this configuration.

  • Embeding graphics bar chart

    Hi,,,
I have to convert one of my reports made on 6i version which contains bar chart that is working on this version after upgrade to 10g I couldn't work with it because its depraceted what to do pls help
    Best Regards

Are you using Oracle Graphics? You'll have to use a chart item in the report for 10G: click the icon in the layout editor tool pallet, click into the layout editor, right-click the chart object and select the wizard.
It's slightly different to Graphics and I don't know of any documentation of what your query should be like. So to get the right values on the right axes and in the right series might take a bit of trial and error.
Does anyone have any documentation of what the structure of queries should be for each report type? I feel a new project coming on!

  • Cross-tab bar chart error.

    Post Author: Kristofor
    CA Forum: Charts and Graphs
I created a bar-chart based on a cross-tab, but the bar-chart ends up merging two rows of the cross-tab into a single series rather than displaying them correctly as two seperate series.
As far as I can tell this seems to occur because the labels for the two rows both start with the same two letters (but are otherwise different).  If I don't use labels, but just the database integer IDs, the chart works correctly, but is not labelled in a useful manner.
Has anyone seen something like this and is there a way to work around it?

  • Stacked Bar Chart Error

I have a 30+ series bar chart and the dates along the bottom are not showing in order...a sample of one of the series is as follows:
select null link, trunc(SAMPLE_TIME) label, SUM(EVENT_TIME) "CGS wait for IPC msg"
    from "DART"."DART_TOP5_TIMED"
where event_name = 'CGS wait for IPC msg'

Is there another line I need to add to ensure it goes in order?

  • Stacked bar chart errors

I am creating a stacked bar chart and put a max row count of 50, but the graph actually shows more than 50. After the 50 data points, all of the rest of the dates along the x axis are out of order. Is there another location i also need to enforce this max row count?

    Hi HCMJ,
By default, the bar value will not overlapping each other in stacked bar chart, and we cannot increase or decrease the gap between the series in Reporting Services.
Based on my research, I find a workaround can achieve your requirement, please refer to the steps below:
Create a dataset with the query below (sample data):
    CREATE TABLE #temp(name nvarchar(50),time nvarchar(50),value int)
    INSERT INTO #temp VALUES     ('Invoiced','YEAR',100),('Invoiced','MONTH',200),('Budget','MONTH',300),('Budget','YEAR',600)
    SELECT * FROM  #temp
Insert time field to Category Groups pane, and change the group name to “time”.
Insert value field to Values pane, then change the value to like below:
    =min(Fields!value.Value,"time")
Insert another field with the following expression to Values pane:
    =max(Fields!value.Value,"time")
Change the type of chart from Stacked Bar Chart to Range Bar Chart.
Right-click the Series field to change the Fill color to #9bff8c00 (DarkOrange with 155 Transparency) or any color with Transparency you like. Now we can get the following:
Preview it and get the following result:
If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Oracle APEX Bar Chart: Missing labels

Is there a way to get all the data labels to print for an Interactive bar chart? My bar chart has about 16 items. Only 9 of the labels display/print. All the labels are there if I hover over them but I would like to display them. Can I change the font size or something to get them to appear?
Can I display more lines (so the chart doesn't fit on the screen)? Would this solve the problem?
I am currently using APEX 3.2.0.00.27
    Thank you

If you are running CF9, check the <labelStyle isHideOverlapped="true"> property. If not, you could try slanting/wrapping the labels so they fit the space a bit better. Adjusting the chart size so they do fit is another option.
That said, you should still set reasonable limits for title length. If the titles are very long, you may want to abbreviate or truncate them after X characters.

  • Business Graphics - Bar Chart - How to make the height extendable

    Hi Experts,
I have created Business Graphics UI element for my WD application which fetches data from R/3. I am displaying
    1) Cost Element in Y-axis and Cost in X-axis.
    2) I have set ChartType = Bar, height = 300, width = 830
When the no of cost elements is upto 7-8, the graph is getting displayed correctly.
However when the no of cost elements increases to more than 12, the graph becomes un readable. The system displays lot of texts in Y-axis.
I want to make sure that if no of cost elements increases, the Y-axis of graph should extend.
    How we can do so?
    Regards,
    Gary

I could not got any solution of this issue. Finally I convinced the customer to display only top 10 records. Any way higher level managers won't have time to see the graphs of all data.
One way of resolving the issue is like this - create say 3 Business Graphic UI element. The height of Business Graphic UI element can be set as 300, 600, 900 etc.
For 10 records use Business Graphic UI element  of height 300.
For 20 records use Business Graphic UI element  of height 600.
For 30 records use Business Graphic UI element  of height 900.
Use the 'Visibility' data type to hide / unhide the Business Graphic UI of different height.

  • ECC 6.0 bar chart short dump

We are starting an upgrade from 4.7(non-Unicode) to ECC 6.0(Unicode), using SAPgui for Windows (version 7.10).  In our 4.7 systems, the graphical bar chart on the Project Planning Board (txn CJ2C) works as expected.  However, in the 6.0 development system, before displaying the gantt chart, the system short dumps with CREATE_ERROR.
I have searched the forums and looked through OSS notes and was unable to find anything that described the problem or was pertinent to our release.  I have debugged through the transaction and am finding that the short dump occurs in method cl_gui_barchart=>constructor around the following code:
at line 83 if the system is unicode (which it is), the code calls method cl_gui_frontend_services=>check_gui_support, exporting 'ganttcontrol'/'usedataasstream' and expecting a result in variable l_guisupp_data_as_string.  When it returns from the check_gui_support method, l_guisupp_data_as_string is blank, so the next "if" statement raises an error that is not handled:
         if l_guisupp_data_as_string = abap_true.
.....code not executed because the variable = abap_false.
         else.
.....raise create_error.    <<<<< this is where the dump occurs.
         endif.
Note that in the debugger, if I force l_guisupp_data_as_string to be = abap_true, the gantt chart/barchart displays as expected.  (gotta love the debugger)  But since it is standard SAP code I would prefer to resolve the problem without a modification and am hoping someone out there can point me in the right direction.
This short dump occurs with gui versions 710 and lower.  (I personally am using sapgui version 710, patch level 7.)  Has anyone had problems like this with the graphical elements in SAP or does anyone have a suggestion as to why the gui is not displaying the barchart correctly in our unicode system?
Sorry for the very long message, but thanks in advance for the help!

I just installed the latest patch on the SAPgui, so I am now running:
    Release: 710 Final Release
    File Version: 7100.2.8.1039
    Build: 983952
    Patch Level: 8
But I am still getting the short dump.  I have done extensive searches of SAP Help, OSS notes, and this and other forums (even just looking up the problem on "google") but can't seem to find anything that applies to this scenario.  I'm not very familiar with the methods in cl_gui_frontend_services, so if anyone can give me a pointer of where else I can look, I would greatly appreciate it!
I also have edited the Subject line to be more informative about the problem

  • SVG CHart error ORA-20001 with Stacked Bar Chart HTML DB 1.6.0.00.87

    Hi,

    select null l, sales_month, revenue from (select to_char(o.order_timestamp,'Mon YYYY') sales_month, sum(oi.quantity * oi.unit_price) revenue, to_date(to_char(o.order_timestamp,'Mon YYYY'),'Mon YYYY') sales_month_order from DEMO_PRODUCT_INFO p, DEMO_ORDER_ITEMS oi, DEMO_ORDERS o where o.order_timestamp <= (trunc(sysdate,'MON')-1)and o.order_timestamp > (trunc(sysdate-365,'MON'))and o.order_id = oi.order_id and oi.product_id = p.product_id and p.category = 'Audio' group by to_char(o.order_timestamp,'Mon YYYY') order by sales_month_order);
    Please help.
    Regards
    Detlev

    Well,
I've just been struggling for a couple of hours with a cluster bar chart giving the same problem.
The problem is definitely with "ORDER BY".
I guess the graphing chart is taking the sql query as a string and then does some other manipulation on it which ends abnormally when you include the order by clause.
I presume that if you embed the query in a
SELECT * FROM (<actual query with order by>)
    it might mitigate the problem.

  • Drill Down Charts - Oracle Graphics

My understanding of drill down chart is when
you click on the particular chart element in the Master chart the Detail chart should show up.
But in my situation when I choose run from layout editor in oracle graphics, first the Master chart appears and then it automatically refreshes it with the Detail chart without user intervention. The Master
chart appears as a minimized window.
I am passing parameter between the Master chart and the detail chart.
Could anyone tell me how to solve this
and get the effect of drill down from
Master Chart to show up the Detail Chart Please ?
    Thanks
    Mohan

    Hi Pradeep,
You can careate your own dirlldown chart reports like :
--Create a report using xtreem sample database
--Crate two groups like Country & Reagion and use Yearly sales in your charts
--Place a bar graph on your Country group footer and Region group footer.
--Use Hide(Drill Down Ok) option for region group footer and suppress all other empty sections.
--Now try to drill down through Country group to Region group.
You will have to go through only help documents on drill down options in Crystal.
You have to create a ODBC connection on server end also copy the xtreem database on your server to run you reports in infoview.
Yes Crystal Reports 2008 supports multi level drill down.
    Thanks,
    Sastry

  • Multi value error in bar chart

    Hi,
I am getting the following error in bar chart for recp_id versus actual and budget.
"Formula Evaluation- Error in dataset: Multivalue check formula definition in this dataset context"
I have following report in the tab1, chart on tab2
Class, Eq No, Recp_Id, Status, hrs_used, hrs_avail, rate, Actual, Budget
    2         123            R1      A         10        10              5      50     50
    2          123           R1      A         _         20              5      0       100
    1           234          R2      A         10        5               10    100    50
    I have 3 data providers:
    hrs_used Dp1: Eq No, hrs_used, compcode,recp_id
    hrs_avail Dp2: Eq No, Eff_st_dt,Eff_end_dt,compcode, recp_id
master data Dp3: Eq No, compcode, status, Eq name, class
Merging on Eq No, compcode, recp_id
I was getting multi value error for hrs_avail, actual, budget and resolved it in the report using below formula for hrs_avail. I have multi value error in Budget in the report
    [Includingweekends]=Sum(DaysBetween([Eff_st_dt];RelativeDate([Eff_end_dt];1) )  ForEach([Eq No];[Recp_Id];[Eff_st_dt];[Eff_end_dt]))
hrs_avail=If([Prompt for Weekends]="N") Then ([Prompt for Available Hours] * [Excluding weekends]) Else ([Includingweekends] * [Prompt for Available Hours])
    Actual=[hrs_used] * [rate]
    Budget=[hrs_avail]* [rate]
    Report output now:
Class, Eq No, Recp_Id, Status, hrs_used, hrs_avail, rate, Actual, Budget
    2          123     R1               A         10        30        5          150     50
    1          234     R2               A         10        5         10         100    50
I have an issue with the graph with multi value alert on the top of chart for recp_id versus actual and budget.

    Hi Jyothy ,
Chop down your formula ,place each section of formula as a column and check for error .
    use below
    [Includingweekends]=Sum(DaysBetween([Eff_st_dt];RelativeDate([Eff_end_dt];1)   ForEach([Eq No];[Recp_Id];[Eff_st_dt];[Eff_end_dt]))
hrs_avail=sum(If([Prompt for Weekends]="N") Then ([Prompt for Available Hours] * [Excluding weekends]) Else ([Includingweekends] * [Prompt for Available Hours]))

  • Setting legend layer attributes for SAP Bar Chart Graphics

    Hello!
I'm using the SAP Bar Chart for displaying a calendar which is easily printable.
Because the chart contains lines with colored layers without text I need to show a legend at the bottom of a printed page.
I am using the CALL FUNCTION 'BARC_SET_LEGEND_ATTRIB' for setting up the legend and CALL FUNCTION 'BARC_ADD_LEGEND_NODE' to add the nodes/layers and texts to the legend.
The only problem is that the width of each layer displayed in the legend in very narrow. Only ten letters are shown for each legend entry and this is not enough to display the meaning of my colored bars in the chart area.
I tried changing layer-values in the bar chart customizing ( /ocng ) but nothing helped to make the legend entries wider.
    Does anyone have an idea?
