Oracle has to be installed under Administrater account?

What if my system is WindowsXP and I only have one username not as "administrater"?
What will happen?
thanks

I don't really get your question, but if you're asking if you need administrator privileges for installing the database. Then the answer is yes!

  • Move number to be discontinued to new iPhone which has another number; both under same account.

    I have an old phone that has an expired contract.  I want to discontinue using this phone.  I have an iPhone that has a different number that is under a new 24 month contract.  Both phones are under the same account along with two other phones on a family plan.  I want to change the phone number on the iPhone to the number I have been using on the old phone.  Is there a way to do this without paying a penalty for not fullfilling the existing contract on the iPhone?

    Why can't you tranfer the iPhone to the other line and the current(old) phone to your line. Is this an iPhone restriction? As long as you keep both lines you should be able to do this, unless of course it is a restriction of the iPhone purchase.
     I agree with lewisr13. You say nothing in your original post about terminating the line that the iPhone is currently using. Why can't you activate an old phone on the line currently in use with the iPhone. Then activate the iPhone on the line you want it to use. The only problem that I can see with this is that if you currently have unlimited data with the iPhone and you do NOT have unlimited data on the line you want to switch it to, then the iPhone will no longer have unlimited data.
    But if in fact you did want to terminate the line with the iPhone and not reactivate another phone on that line, then you WOULD have to pay an ETF for that line.
    I am sorry, I read it that the person wanted to kill the iPhone line when he moved the phone to the line with an expired contract.

    This appears to require me to switch my oracle home setting each time I switch between using Pro*C and sqlplus. This in very inconvenient. I have worked on many, many systems in the past which had one ORACLE_HOME for both the RDBMS and the development tools.
    Is this a new constraint introduced by Oracle? Where does this restriction come from?
    Is there something I don't understand and have I installed the developer suite incorrectly?

    It looks to me this is a mess; i have installed oracle 10g on rhas4 and it didn't install under that folder. I'd suggest to run oui/run installer and show what are the oracle_homes found there; maybe you should reinstall it in the proper locations, under different accounts, etc.

  • Install under Administrator or User Account w/ Administrator?

    I was wondering how did you guys install your CS4 on windows 7. Do you install it under Administrator account or under User with Administrator priviledge? What is the difference anyway?

    Found something...this is the entire page link
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc507861.aspx
    Follows is a section of the above document:
    Marking an Application that Requires a Full Administrator Access Token
    There may be situations where certain applications will not function correctly unless they are run by a user with a full administrator access token. This can occur with pre-Windows Vista programs that are not designed to operate under the UAC environment. Microsoft has provided a mechanism to ensure that these applications can be enabled so they will always be marked as requiring a full administrator access token. The following procedure details how to mark an application to always require an administrator access token when it is launched.
    To mark an application to always require a full administrator access token
       1. Right click the program you would like to modify and select Properties.
       2. In Properties, select the Compatibility tab.
       3. Under Privilege Level, select the Run this program as an administrator check box, and then click Apply or OK.
       4. If this is the first time the application has been marked to run as an administrator, a dialog box will appear.
       5. Click OK to continue.
    Cc507861.aa906022_note(en-us,TechNet.10).gifNote
    If this is the first time that this application was marked, a message will appear indicating that Windows Vista will instruct the application to gather information about which operations the program is performing that requires it to run with a full administrator access token. This information will help Microsoft determine if any steps can be taken to correct the program in the future so that will no longer require a full administrator access token. When asked to check for "Solutions to Problems," always check for solutions on any product that has a LUADiagnostics problem. This will ensure that the collected information is sent to Microsoft. If you do not want to send this information, do not check for "Solutions to Problems."
    Once complete, the program will prompt for elevation consent whenever it is launched.
    So, you would uninstall cs4, run cleanup utility a bunch of times with reboots as people mention here...( I've never done it ).....create your new accounts including extra admin just in case ( with passwrd protection ) .....then re-install cs4  ..........then give cs4 the above permission to run under the admin access token.... then an normal user should be able to run it ......not just an admin account group....
    good luck

    help, how do I set up an icloud account on my macbook pro with 10.6.8 — all it has is "mobile me" under internet and wireless on my system doc????

    You should check that your Mac meets the requirements for upgrading.
    The requirements for Lion are:
    Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
    To purchase it you will have to ring Apple at the number given at the bottom left of this page.
    The requirements for Mountain Lion are listed here:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
    It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).
    You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table

    Why do you need InDesign CS (that is version 3) or InDesign CS3 (that is Version 5) to install InDesign CS5.5 (it is version 7.5)?
    If it is an upgrade and asks you to input your serial of an older version, you have to get an find it. No one will help you here. If you can't find it and if you have not registered it, you are out of luck. You will have to spend money for a new version.

    I hope that you aren't complaining about dropped calls INSIDE your condo because no amount of switching or upgrading devices will solve that.
    VZW will not guarantee service inside of any structure. There are just too many factors. If the problem is inside then you might want to look at one of the following:
    1.) Network Extender (may cause issues for others in a condo or apartment style setting)
    2.) A Google Voice Number (Free with a Gmail email address), downloading Google Hangouts Dialer and forwarding your calls to the GVN so that you can make and receive calls over Wi-Fi.

  • Windows Server - Run multiple domains under different accounts

    Hi,
    I have multiple domains on a Windows Server. I'd like to run these under separate accounts for security reasons.
    My options I have so far:
    1) Install all Admin servers and managed servers as windows services and set logon appropriately
    2) If possible, use multiple node manager instances, one for each domain and set the log on for each node manager windows service
    I like the idea of multiple node managers but I can't find any reference in the documentation about this. I'd rather not use option 1 as I won't be able to restart servers from the WebLogic Console
    Has anyone had to do this before?

    First option might be the cleanest .
    For second option make sure that there are separate Node_Manager home directory for different node manager instances.

  • Oracle 8i is not installing

    Dear Sir,
    Oracle 8i is not installing in my system. The setup comes within a fraction of seconds without raising any error . I have PIV 1.5 GHZ with 128 MB RAM. I tried with Win NT,Win 2000,
    Win 2000 Advanced Server, Win XP but i faced the same problem in all the versions. There is also problem with JRE and java.

    There are problems with Pentium IV
    Known Software Issue(s)
    CPUID detection for Intel. Pentium. 4 processor system:
    Intel has identified that applications which use the Symantec Just in Time Compiler library file ("symcjit.dll" for Microsoft Windows* operating system and "symc_jlt.nlm" for Novell Netware* 5.1) may not run properly on Pentium. 4 processor systems because the library does not properly identify the processor. The failure typically is that the affected application such as Oracle 8i, simply terminates. Under Microsoft Windows*, the properties of the DLL are: "Symantec Java! JustInTime Compiler Version 3.10.107 for JDK 1.2 Copyright (C) 1996-99 Symantec Corporation Dynamic Link Library file". DLLs older than this will also not work. To confirm the version you are using, select the DLL, right click on the selected DLL and select Properties, and then the Version tab. Intel encourages all Software developers to do the following immediately:
    Check if your application(s) uses the Symantec Just in Time Library file
    Request an updated library file from your provider
    Test your application with the new library file on Pentium. 4 processor system
    Ensure you have plans in place to provide application updates and address customer concerns
    *Other brands and names are property of their respective owners
    Workaround
    ~~~~~~~~~~
    Not only will OUI be affected by this bug, most of the post-install
    configuration tools will also be affected. Running these tools with "-nojit"
    specified will avoid the hang, but it is not simple to specify "-nojit" for
    some of the products.
    The following workaround works for the Windows operating system:
    a. Copy only the install directory from the CD to the hard disk ,say, e:\temp.
    b. Open oraparam.ini and make the following modifications (Assuming CD
    drive is f:)
    * Change the "SOURCE=" line to use the full path to the CD instead of a
    relative path. (i.e., SOURCE=f:\stage\products.jar)
    * Change the "JRE_LOCATION" line to use the full path to the CD instead of a
    relative path. (i.e.,
    JRE_LOCATION=f:\stage\Components\oracle\swd\jre\1.1.7\1\DataFiles\Expanded)
    * Change the "OUI_LOCATION" line to use the full path to the CD instead of a
    relative path. (i.e.,
    OUI_LOCATION=f:\stage\Components\oracle\swd\oui\1.6.0.9.0\1\DataFiles\Expanded
    * Change the "JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS" line to add "-nojit" as the first argument.
    (i.e., JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS=-nojit -ms16m -mx32m)
    ^^^^^^
    * Other entries should remain the same
    c. Launch setup.exe from the temporary location on your hard drive (i.e.
    e:\temp\install\win32\setup.exe). This will use the modified
    oraparam.ini and pick up the information from the CD since the absolute
    locations are specified.
    Choose a Custom install and choose not to create a database during the
    install. This way, the Database Configuration Assistant will not be launched
    during installation.
    The Net8 Configuration Assistant will still be launched, and there is no way
    to suppress it. You will need to kill the Net8 Configuration Assistant if it
    hangs due to the bug. The installation still will have been successful, and
    you can run the DBCA and NetCA after installation.
    To kill NetCA if it hangs during installation:
    In the "Configuration Tools" window, highlight the "Net8 Configuration
    Assistant" and click "Stop". If that does not work, look for the most recent
    JRE process using the Task Manager, and kill it manually. NOTE: the OUI
    itself will also have a jre process. Be sure to kill the one with the most
    recent date, which should be the jre process being used for Net8CA, not the
    one for OUI itself.
    After killing the configuration tools and continuing through the installation
    to the "End of Installation" screen, you should modify the configuration tools
    to use "-nojit", then call the appropriate tools from the Start Menu.
    Once installation is complete, each of the following files in the ORACLE_HOME
    needs to be modified:
    assistants\dbca\dbassist.cl
    assistants\dbma\dbmig.cl
    assistants\ifa\ifa.cl
    bin\elogin.cl
    bin\owm.cl
    ldap\oidamdin\oidadmin.cl
    network\tools\netasst.cl
    network\tools\netca.cl
    owm\install\instelogin.cl
    owm\install\instowm.cl
    Edit the contents of the above files to add "-nojit" as shown below:
    Command=("C:\Program Files\Oracle\jre\1.1.7\BIN\JREW" -nojit -classpath ....
    this is the only thing you need to add --> ^^^^^^
    Then, launch the necessary tools, like Net8CA and DBCA from the Start Menu.
    Patches
    ~~~~~~~
    Currently there is not a patched installer available to deal with this
    problem, the workaround listed above must be used.

    Is this a new constraint introduced by Oracle? Where does this restriction come from?
    Is there something I don't understand and have I installed the developer suite incorrectly?

    Mark, Kamal,
    The situation I have created (mixed versions) is because I am supposed to be developing using the Oracle 10gr2 Express Edition database. There is no developer suite available for 10gr2, so I must use 10gr1. Normally, I go to great lengths to avoid this sort of situation, but I don't have much control over it here.
    I think this would be a fairly common work environment (running 10g r2 express or enterprise) with a 10g r1 development suite. That I am having this many problems with setting it up is very frustrating. I've never spent more that a couple of hours on an install and configuration on a development environment, but haven't set one up since 9.2.
    What are "all the environment variables"? I am used to setting ORACLE_SID and ORACLE_HOME. I am aware of LD_LIBRARY_PATH and it's use, but I don't normally change it unless required. By setting ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID, the precompiler works okay, so I'll leave it like that. Are there other env. vars. that have to be set?
    Pro*C links with shared libraries by default. I'm not even sure that this can be changed to static. When I install the built pro*c executables, do I have to install the shared libraries from under the development ORACLE_HOME as well?

  • Can't run programs installed under Administrator

    Our user DLU's run at the User level, so we install any extra software that isn't on our image using the local Administrator account. Sometimes users are prompted to enter the Administrator password just to run such software, but it seems to depend on the program.
    Virtual Apps are not always possible so I'm trying to understand the mechanics of why Users can run something installed under Administrator.

    If you want them to be able to install software, make them part of the
    administrators or power users group.
    Of course, what's gonna happen to them WHEN they install improper software
    (not IF, it is a WHEN).
    What software are you trying to install?
    You should probably look up the app @ the website www.appdeploy.com
    While not specific to ZCM, it has an incredible wealth of info on specific
    applications and how to deploy/package them

    got to be an easier way than trying to make a bundle each time some

    I just want my users to be able to install whatever they want. If they
