Oracle Home directory error : Not accessible.

Hello,
I need to access Sql*Plus which is already installed in my machine.
But When I click Sql*plus, nothing happens.
When I try to access the Oracle directory I get this error message.
C:\Oracle\product\10.1.0\Client_1 is not accessible.
Access is denied.
Is there any way to correct this error.
Help is Appreciated.
Thanks.

  • Home directory is not being backed up in Time Machine

Problem: It turns out my home directory does not have any backups in Time Machine for the last year.  I've never received any error message indicating it wasn't doing the full backup.
Goal: I'd like to get Time Machine to back up my home folder (which contains 100% of the content I care about) again, ideally in a way where I can keep my history from the last time it backed up successfully.
    How I found out:
    - I opened Time Machine and realized all the "pink bars" were dimmed all the way back up to Sept. 2011 when I navigated to my home folder or any folder within it.
    - I cloned a file within my home folder, did a manual Time Machine back up, opened Time Machine and verified that the backup volume did not contain the cloned file.
    - I did this again while watching the Console and verified that it did not make a large enough backup to include the cloned file.
    - I explored all the backups in Finder and realized that indeed all the backups that corresponded to the dimmed pink bars in Time Machine had no home folder.
    - I did an "ls -a" in the backup volume in Terminal and realized that it was not the case that the home directory was present but merely hidden.
    What I've tried:
    - I created a new admin account, logged into that and did a manual Time Machine backup from there.  The new account was backed up, while the original home directory still wasn't.  This continues to be true in subsequent backups made while logged into the main account.
    - I examined the exclusions list in Time Machine preferences.  The only items were the backup volume itself and another partition of that external drive I use for other backups, as expected.
    - I did a "Full Reset of Time Machine" (http://pondini.org/TM/A4.html), with a reboot before re-enabling Time Machine.  The plist file did change to become much simpler, but the home folder is still not being backed up.
    Other notes:
    - I run Dropbox, and have those contents in a folder one level under the home directory
    - I run Git
    - The existing backups have only used 500GB or so of a 1TB partition, so it's not filling up.
    - I ran Verify Disk in Disk Utility on both my backup volume and the mac's HD.  The backup volume appeared OK, but the mac HD was "found corrupt and needs to be repaired".  I could boot into the Recovery HD and repair it, but I feel like this is a risk and I'd like to have a working backup before I do that (I don't have another external HD around to make a temporary backup).  Could the corrupted drive be the reason Time Machine has been silently skipping the home folder?
    - My home folder is named "apple".  Might this be a problem?  I'd rename it, but that's a risk and I'd like a verified backup before doing that.
    - The Time Machine plist file in /Library/Preferences is pretty hard to read in pico, TextEdit, etc (maybe this is normal?)
I've scoured the forums and pondini's very thorough troubleshooting pages to no avail.  Please let me know if anyone has ideas.  Thanks.

Latest update: Bought a new external harddrive, set that up as the new Time Machine volume, but got the exact same results (all but my main user directory are backed up).  This is after another Time Machine reset (deleting the .plist), starting up in Safe Mode, and trying to initiate the backup from both the account that doesn't get backed up and another administrator account.
Here is some of the output from the Console when filtering messages for "backupd":
10/5/12 2:51:23.572 AM com.apple.backupd[13529]: Backup content size: 481.57 GB excluded items size: 11.31 GB for volume Macintosh HD
    10/5/12 2:51:23.572 AM com.apple.backupd[13529]: Found 1437613 files (470.25 GB) needing backup
    10/5/12 2:51:23.573 AM com.apple.backupd[13529]: 564.3 GB required (including padding), 1.5 TB available
10/5/12 2:51:23.581 AM com.apple.backupd[13529]: Waiting for index to be ready (100)
10/5/12 3:40:33.297 AM com.apple.backupd[13529]: Copied 763432 files (21.54 GB) from volume Macintosh HD.
Put the relevant parts in bold.  No messages about why it only backed up 21.54GB when it found 470.25GB that needed to get backed up.
Does this make sense to anyone??

  • System Landscape Directory is not accessible

I am trying to get my end to end monitoring working but every time I try to log in and display it asks for a user and password and no matter which user I try it tells me i have no authorisations...
So someone suggested that I goto /nwa to implement the template...
When I go there and put in the user and password it comes up with System Landscape Directory is not accessible.
Does anyone know why this is? or what can fix it?
NOTE: It is worth mentioning that the SLD can be accessed by the IR and ID... and I can go on to the SLD directly so I don't understand this issue...

  • [User home directory property not found.]

Our Roaming Profile policy does not work but exits with the following error message in the log file:
RoamingProfile Policy] "...[POLICYHANDLERS.RoamingProfile.ErrorInEnforcement] .... [User home directory property not found.] ...."
    We are running ZCM 10.3.1
We have the exact same environment at another customer where everything is just working fine. We compared the user properties and could not find any differences. eDirectory is fine, too
Does anybody have the same problems or a solution to it?
    Thanks,
    Sebastian

Yes, home directory is defined in eDir.
In Novell Client for Windows XP there is no "Allow Roaming User Profile Paths to non-Windows servers" attribute, it is in Client for Win 7 only.
In roaming policy, if I type the path to home directory manualy, it works fine.
In our original environment I have ZfD 4 on Netware, roaming profiles save to home directories normally, without errors.

  • PHP 5.0.5 CLI: Am I able to set the Oracle home directory at runtime?

I have two versions of Oracle installed on a SUN Solaris server:
    /opt/app/oracle/product/8.1.7
    /opt/app/oracle/product/9.2.0
Am I able to set the Oracle home directory at runtime using PHP CLI?
    Thanks,

The real answer is it depends how PHP loads Oracle. If the loading
occurs when PHP starts and before your script executes then you will
start to see problems. This could be as minor as missing error
message text or it could be more subtle. In general set the Oracle
    environment before starting PHP.
What about creating your scripts like:
    #!/bin/sh
    export ORACLE_HOME=/opt/app/oracle/product/9.2.0
    php ...-- cj

  • Help please..how to specify Oracle Home directory for create AS connection

I have linux based application server 10g having IP 121.100.115.2 and name as10g.ourdomain.com (/home/oracle/OraHome_2 is AS directory)
I have developed a simple jsp page using JDeveloper10g. In order to deploy this project, I am trying to create Application Server Connection using wizard.
    step1:
    connection name: as10g
    connection type:oracle application server 10g
    step2:
    user name: ias_admin
    password: mypassord
    step3:
enterprise manager OC4J host name: 121.100.115.2
enterprise manager OC4J http port: 1156
Remote Server's Oracle home directory: /oracle/OraHome_2
    step4
    RMI Server URL: ormi://121.100.115.2:23791
    RMI username: admin
    RMI password: {blank}
    step5
When I click on test button I get this error:
Test failed (-2). Invalid Oracle Home directory

When you create the stand alone, in options you can actually set the temp directory and default directory. You can change it there OR in goto options and check for libraries/directories. You can change it there too.
Kudos always welcome for helpful posts

  • System Landscape Directory is not accessible on NW04 Sneak Preview

    Hi,
I installed Netweaver sneak preview Full Java edition on a server and when i access the NW administrator at the url http://...:50000/nwa.
In "Overview" of system management there are 2 warnings :
System Landscape Directory is not accessible
    and
Only local system can be administered
But SLD is working i can assess it on http://...:50000/sld
    Can anybody help me ...?

    Hi,
NWA works out of the box for the local Java stack. No SLD needed. Its just an information.
The second flavor of NWA is to act as a central monitoring tool. In that case, some things have to be configured (e.g. the connection between NWA and the SLD). Information about that can be found in SMD service.sap.com/nwa, or probably here

  • Home directory is not created and cannot log from client computer

I am trying to set up MacOsX server. I already have another server which is my DNS server. I am trying to create an Open Directory Master server.
Server was updated to 10.4.8 MacOsX from the beginning of existence.
I created couple of users in Open directory domain for testing purposes.
So, the first problem is, that when I am trying to create a user home directory server does not create it and does not give any errors about that. I tried in bash createhomedir utility, it did not work either, again, no error messages.
    Another problem:
I set up Open Directory master with LDAP. It was set up correctly, no error messages. At least I did not see any.
The I tried to connect to the server from my client iMac computer which has 10.4.8 MacOsX as well. So I set up LDAP there in Directory services, it was able to find my server and bind to it. Then when I am trying to login with username and password in Open Directory on the server, it does nor recognize it. No error messages in logs as well.
However, if I am trying to use ssh from client machine to connect to Server using the names which are in Open Directory on the server it allows me to do so. But of course it says no home directory defined.
Than you very much for responce!

An Open Directory Master requires DNS running somewhere. You could have a scenario involving 4 servers where: DNS is provided by Server A, Server B is a Web & Mail Server, Server C providing FTP Services and Server D providing LDAP services with managed preferences and automounting Home Directories (ODM). In this scenario DNS is provide by Server A and any other server requiring DNS using Server A’s DNS. You could expand this scenario if you wanted and have replica (fallover) servers for Servers A, B C or D, or if you are the frugal sort just one replica server replicating the 4 primary servers. You can do all of this pretty much in 10.4 GUI with some additional configuration using Terminal
      Mac OS X (10.4.8)
      Mac OS X (10.4.8)
      Mac OS X (10.4.8)

  • How to find the oracle home directory of a particular database ?

    Hi all,
There are multiple databases in our machine server ; there are many oracle9i and many oracle10g databases.
I forgot the directory where I installed a particular database so I want to know how to know the directory path where its oracle_home was. For example C:\Orant\Bin.
    Thank you very much indeed

    Yea friend .
I m agree with u . Because In my Linux server There are 2 database . I have to use Automatic run script (use dbstart) for Database so that Datbase will be auto up during startup. My default oracle Home for Oracle user is "/ORACLE" and also mention it i Oracle ".bash_profile" .
I give the entry into "/etc/oratab " Like following :
    vi /etc/oratab
    test1::/oracle:Y
    test2::/oracle:Y
But One database (test1) is up during startup the server but another (test2) is not . I dont understand the problem .... can anybody give me some suggestion ?
In this pint , If Oracle Home is the problem then How can I find the Oracle Home regarding these two databases ?

  • Home directory does not mount after client has been sleeping.

I found several articles that touches our problem, but none with any solutions so here I try from the beginning:
We have an XServe Xeon running 10.6.4 and two labs with intel iMacs running the same system. All clients are bound to the server using OD (400 users) and afp in a straightforward setup, that worked well with older equipment for several years. Server is connected to a XServe Raid that stores the home directories. Migrating to this new equipment and system caused several problems with the OD database, but these issues were solved and now there is only one very annoying problem left, that often leaves the users (students) with one question before giving up: Why do they use Apple systems here?
The problem is that when the client computers has been sleeping for some time, the login is VERY slow. The authentication succeeds and I will be logged in, but after that the message "The home folder for user <xxx> is not located in the usual place or cannot be accessed." etc. The sharepoint with home folders is not present either. Finder is extremely slow. Next step is to log out - takes a while too.
The next login will be a bit faster, no message this time, but the home folder is still not really there. It might contain the folder "Desktop" but no other standard folders. If I look at the path to the home folder in the Info window under "Server:" it will be: afp://servername/Users/iMac2 (072)/Macintosh HD/Network/Servers/cu.dkdm.dk/Volumes/Users/testuser. Shortcuts to different folders doesn't work and choosing "Go Home" from the Go menu sometimes opens the /users folder (on network).
The workaround is to restart the client, after which everything will work fine. the path above will now be afp://servername/Users/testuser
I really hope that someone knows something about this and is able to help. Our teaching, classes and preparing for students are radically disturbed until then.

  • AD user with no home directory does not work correctly

    Hey guys:
I just tried to login as a standard AD user and was able to login, but the finder is having issues.  The Finder seems to reset itself and the dock would also reset, plus the top menu bar is not present, anyone else with this issue?  Also I login as my account with admin rights and have no problem, I am thinking about trashing the finder prefs and dock prefs and see what happens then, will post back if I find anything.
    John

We're suddenly getting the same issue here.
A MacBook Pro (OSX Lion) installed a few months ago has no issue when setting up new users.
The MacBook Pro (OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.2) which arrived this week is a different matter altogether!
Once it joined the domain every attempt to log in as a network user has failed. The following ticked options work on our Lion machines:-
    Create mobile account at login
Require confirmation before creating a mobile account
Use UNC path from Active Directory to derive network home location
    Default user shell: /bin/bash
However, the Mountain Lion machine is having none of it. Network users get no finder bar across the top, the Finder icon will bounce every so often as though it's tried, and failed, to load.
    Terminal states "no home directory"
The only way to get these working is to turn off the "Create mobile account" ones, then manually create an account once the user logs in (with a local administrator on hand to elevate when prompted).
