Hi All,
Any one knows about "Oracle Hyperion Planning Plus". From internet I came to know that its a Microsoft Excel and Web-based budgeting and forecasting tool.
If any has more information about this tool/any documentation/documentation links....please share with me.....

Hyperion Planning Plus is the name of bundle being sold by Oracle which includes reporting tools around Hyperion Planning.

you can try the following:
Go to [http://service.sap.com/bosap-support] and navigate to Documention->Product Guides . Select SAP BPC and you should get the links to the related documentation.
If you still get problems to access it, you must issue a message to SAP (service.sap.com/support) asking them to allow you accessing the documentation on SAP BPC.

How does the Approvals process work in Oracle Hyperion Planning v 11.1.2

Hi,
I have recently upgraded to Oracle Hyperion Planning v 11.1.2 and the way that the application handles budget / Forecast approvals appears to have changed.
Is anyone able to direct me to a user manual or provide me with some guidance on how to set up the approvals process in the upgrade Oracle Hyperion Planning v 11.1.2.
Currently I have the approvals hierarchy set to allow all approvals and have the approvals template set to bottom up, I have not put any values on the hierarchy and sub hierarchy tab as I want to drive approvals by entity only. I have set the correct Scenario and assigned the owners/approvers however when I start the approvals process the current owner is let sitting at no owner? Should this not pull though the owner set up under assign owners.
When I log in as the owner of the planning unit I do get the option to promote the unit as set out in the assign owner hierarchy however when I attempt to do this I get the following error:
Failed: Unauthorized New Owner
I am relatively new to planning so any help you can provide me with would be much appreciated.

Hyperion Planning Plus

Hi people!
I need some clarification about hyperion planning package.
My contract says: "Hyperion Planning Plus".
My question is which produts/applications comes with it? I know I really need Workspace, Essbase, ODI but are they include or I need to buy separately????

For your satisfaction, you should clarify this with your account Rep.
However, from my understanding (based on similar feedback earlier from a rep) Smartview, ODI, Financial Reporting studio, Workspace are bundled with Hyperion Planning. Essbase (limited license) for planning application ONLY is bundled with Planning Plus. This means you cannot create native Essbase apps directly in Essbase server.

I'd prefer Financial Reporting because it supports :
- text type accounts
- smartlist accounts
Be prepared for some extra time needed to get used to the report editor. The interface feels like it was build for Windows 3.11.

You cannot download it unless your company is a registered Oracle Partner. Still you, or your company should pay for it. Search for Oracle BIC2G and you'll get some idea about it.

Oracle Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.1. hungs Essbase 11.1.2.1.

Hi All,
When end user executing the Calc Manager rule through planning web against our application UPSTPLAN, calc manager rule is getting completed successfully but hangs Essbase application which inturn hangs entire Essbase server.
Sometimes Essbase server is getting hung, while refreshing security from Planning against UPSTPLAN or GA_Plan application.
We recently migrated all of our Hyperion applications from 11.1.1.1.3.1 to 11.1.1.2.1 on new servers.
If anyone came across the same issue.

Thanks for your reply.
Once Essbase got hung, it is not making any entry in the log file.
So we are not able to identify any significant information from log file.
We need to restart OPMN Essbase services to fix Essbase hung issue.

ORACLE/HYPERION PLANNING

Good afternoon
we are looking at implementing ORACLE Planning. We had it 5 years ago, but found it incredibly cumbersome and slow. My questions are as follows:
Does it still sit on a block storage essbase cube? or have they figured out how to use ASOcubes with it?
If it is on a BSO, that would mean calculations - has the speed improved?
Is there still a size limitation on the input forms?
How do you report out of it? Can you use the Excel Essbase add in? Or is Smartview exclusively used?

The newest version 11.1.2.2 has redesigned the forms using ADF controls so it should be faster and more flexible. With forms you can now also allow users to do ad-hoc queries from them.
How do you report out of it? Can you use the Excel Essbase add in? Or is Smartview exclusively used?While you can use the add-in, you are better off using Smart View. Smart View will do almost everything the Planning web forms will do (you can bring up the forms in Smart View) and load from there, run business rules etc.

Oracle Hyperion Planning - log file location

When a data form returns the message:
An error occurred while running the specified calc script. Check the log for details.
What is the name of the log file I should be looking for and where it is normally located?

If on windows have a look in <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>/user_projects/epmsystem1/diagnostics/logs/services/HyS9Planning-syserr.log and HyS9Planning-sysout.log
There will be two planning log files that you can check.
If it is linux change the services directory for /starter

what is the default username and password for these.Please let me know?

we are using Hyperion PLanning Version (11.1.2)...
if someone can redirect me to formula kind of thing "how to calculate Hardware Requirements WRT increase in number of concurrent sessions".
for example need formula like below.
Minimum Server Requirement: 10 GB lets say for 5 concurrent sessions for 1-2 Applications
for every 5 concurrent user addition, increase Hardware Like processor 1 2.X Ghz , Ram 5GB , HDD 100 GB....

Hyperion Planning Fusion Edition, what components are required?

Hello,
Currently we're planning to install Hyperion Planning Fusion Edition, but we're not certain what components are required if we want to use Planning with EPMA/BPMA. Can someone post a list of components/applications required?
Additionally, where from can we download Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management Architect, Fusion Edition, v11.1.1.1.1? The documentation states that such a version exists, however we're unable to locate it on Oracle's web pages.
