we have Oracle EBS 11i [Finance, HRMS, SCM, CRM] implemented and working fine...
now we are going to select Oracle Hyperion Planning, for Budget and Planing;;
Is Oracle Hypeion Planning Plus have integrator with EBS ...
if not what are the recomended components required

How does the Approvals process work in Oracle Hyperion Planning v 11.1.2

Hi,
I have recently upgraded to Oracle Hyperion Planning v 11.1.2 and the way that the application handles budget / Forecast approvals appears to have changed.
Is anyone able to direct me to a user manual or provide me with some guidance on how to set up the approvals process in the upgrade Oracle Hyperion Planning v 11.1.2.
Currently I have the approvals hierarchy set to allow all approvals and have the approvals template set to bottom up, I have not put any values on the hierarchy and sub hierarchy tab as I want to drive approvals by entity only. I have set the correct Scenario and assigned the owners/approvers however when I start the approvals process the current owner is let sitting at no owner? Should this not pull though the owner set up under assign owners.
When I log in as the owner of the planning unit I do get the option to promote the unit as set out in the assign owner hierarchy however when I attempt to do this I get the following error:
Failed: Unauthorized New Owner
I am relatively new to planning so any help you can provide me with would be much appreciated.

Go to [http://service.sap.com/bosap-support] and navigate to Documention->Product Guides . Select SAP BPC and you should get the links to the related documentation.

Thank you Helios. We are also exploring PO/PR approvals through Blackberry utilizing EBS-11i Notification Alerts. I have three questions
1. Whats difference between oracle Notification/Email Alerts AND Oracle Workflow Notification Alerts.
2. Is EBS-11i sufficient to exploit its email sender to receive aswell and work with NID embedded in email
3. Why do we need Application Server Wireless component!?! if we can receive normal emails with NID tag embedded through non wireless App server 10g setup. Our blackberries since receiving normal email fine can/may also receive NID tagged emails in same traditional manner.
Please guide.

If you want to download and install Developer 6i to your Windows client, then here is the direct link --> http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/forms/6i_rel2_xp.zip
You will need to recompile the form again on your server if the OS is Linux/Unix by referring to the docs referenced above by AsifMuhammad

My source is CSV file and my target is Hyperion Planning.
I defined only one RKM for Hyperion Planning. There is a IKM SQL to Hyperion Planning. There are two technologies defined: one for Generic File and another to Hyperion Planning. These steps are defined on the sample manual of ODI - Hyperion Planning.
I created the interface without any warning or errors. But when I tried execute this rule, I have the following error return on the Operator module:

How do I use FND_GLOBAL.APPS_INITIALIZE to integrate with EBS 11i security?

We are trying to integrate APEX with Oracle Ebusiness Suite 11i. We are trying to integrate with the HR/Payroll application which uses FND_GLOBAL.APPS_INITIALIZE to set the security context to a user, responsibility and application id which defines who the session has access to for the session. When we make the call to FND_GLOBAL.APPS_INITIALIZE in either a before header process or in the VPD security attribute, we get no data. Using the same call in SQL*PLUS we get the data expected.
Any suggestions on how to get this to work? What are we missing?

Thanks for the reply. I have not tried passing in the parameters yet. I currently have the following hardcoded in a before header process.
BEGIN
FND_GLOBAL.APPS_INITIALIZE(1003,51172,800);
END;
I do have FND_GLOBAL.USER_ID and FND_GLOBAL.RESP_ID in a report. The values returned are the same as those I have in the before header process.
For this user_id, responsibility_id and application_id I should get 1 row from per_people_f. It works in sqlplus, I get no data found in APEX.
Any further suggestions on what might be happening here?

how can we use dicoverer reports with 11i
how to register them,run them from 11i.
and where are these reports stored.like if i created a open periods report that shows all the open periods in AR,AP modules,where do i need to place these reports to run from applications 11i.
i never used discoverer,i am just asking these questions assuming discoverer reports work similar to that of reports 6i

Discoverer can be called from Oracle Apps or more usually from it's own XML version (Plus) or from it's own HTML version (Viewer).
Discoverer reports (workbooks) are created with a client / server version (desktop) or the XML version (Plus).
Once a workbook has been written it is possible to call it directly from Apps, but again, it's more usual to firing up Discoverer directly and going from there.

1. Install what?
2. You want to create custom apps -- you mean you will be developing ordinary applications using Application Express. Good.
3. "Link into the EBS tables" means you want to access EBS tables from your application's parsing schema. Just grant privileges on those tables and/or the APIs you'll be calling to your schema.
4. Search this forum for keywords like "e-business" and I think you'll get some useful hits.

we are looking at implementing ORACLE Planning. We had it 5 years ago, but found it incredibly cumbersome and slow. My questions are as follows:
Does it still sit on a block storage essbase cube? or have they figured out how to use ASOcubes with it?
If it is on a BSO, that would mean calculations - has the speed improved?
Is there still a size limitation on the input forms?
How do you report out of it? Can you use the Excel Essbase add in? Or is Smartview exclusively used?

The newest version 11.1.2.2 has redesigned the forms using ADF controls so it should be faster and more flexible. With forms you can now also allow users to do ad-hoc queries from them.
How do you report out of it? Can you use the Excel Essbase add in? Or is Smartview exclusively used?While you can use the add-in, you are better off using Smart View. Smart View will do almost everything the Planning web forms will do (you can bring up the forms in Smart View) and load from there, run business rules etc.

Oracle Apex Authentication with EBS

I have Oracle Applications EBS suite with 10g and Oracle Apex on seperate 10g.
Now, I am trying to use same user-id and password of EBS to login into Oracle Apex. I have performed following steps from this url.

1. I have dblink between two database nodes (i.e. EBS database and Apex database )
2. I have created following function as well on EBS database.

execute statement which user should I give execute to ? Do I have to create same user of Apex in EBS database and give exec priv ? but than how does it going to talk to EBS database ?

I performed 2nd approach too but it doesn't work for me because
my Apex is installed in seperate 10g and EBS is in sperate 10g. 2nd approach is from a perosn name SCOTT.

Output from EBS Excel is XHTML, so anything that understands that ... from memory Excel 2003 or higher but check doco.
