Oracle Hyperion Workspace and Hyperion Interactive Reporting

Hi All,
I'm in a urgent need of downloading Hyperion workspace. I was able to download and install Hyperion Shared Services under "Hyperion Foundation Service". But There are no Hyperion Workspace to download under "Hyperion Foundation Service". Moreover the link to download Hyperion Interactive Report studio is not working and displaying "page not found" error. Can anyone suggest me how to download these two softwares?

do you have some old external authorization entries in your css.xml? (they occuur if you delete external user directopries from the sort order (see documentation of HSS). In our case we had arudimantary entry there. We deleted it (via HSS UI) en till now its running fine. The error did not occur after the change. (you have to re start HSS service after the change)

Also: you mention 100 users? But how many groups are you imortinh/caching?

what is the differences between hyperion planning and hyperion essbase.i dont know about planning much.but as far i know.i think we can do every thing in essbase also(planning,budgeting and forecasting)

Although as you mention in your post Essbase can do plans/budgets etc it may not be simple to provide complex planning process control and ease of data entry etc.
Planning delivers these benefits and some through web delivered components such as forms, business rules and workflow for instance. There are some restrictions to using planning and these need tobe well understood before embarking on a project.
It would be worth having a look at product sheets from Oracle and/or presentations from various events to get a feel for planning capabilities.

hi jagadish,
both are used for same purpose
interactive report means an output list which displays basic details & allows user to interact, so that a new list is populated based on user-selection. With interactive list, the user can actively control data retrieval and display during the session. a total no of 21 lists including main list are genearetd in interactive lists.
I suggest to use ALV.by using ALV we can display in Grid as well as list format.
Output format will be good . Sorting,Filtering facilities are provided by itself.We can have column headings also. using oops we can also do alv reporting.

ALV interactive report gives many advantages than interactive report like sorting, summing and getting graphics.
An interactive report generally basic list displayed. User double clicks on any valid line or user selects a line and presses as button on the tool bar. Then the corresponding event is triggered

Hyperion workspace and Planning

Hi,
I have installed Essbase, Essbase Admin service, Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Reporting & UI service for workspace, SQL seerver and Weblogic 9.2 web application server. I have configured all. However i m not sure about Configuration whether it is right or incorrect.
I want to open Hyperion workspace to see & create planning application
Please guide me all the required steps to open Hyperion workspace

Hi,
First of all make sure the account you are using has been provisioned with the roles of Application Creator, Dimension Editor in Shared Services.
Also you will need to have created a datasource in the config utility before creating an application.
The first application you created it is often easier to go direct to planning http://<planning machine>:8300/HyperionPlanning/AppWizard.jsp
If that is all working you test the web server plugin is working, if you are using apache then http://<workspace machine>:19000/HyperionPlanning/
If it takes you directly to planning then it is configured.
Now you can go directly to workspace :- http://<workspace machine>:19000/workspace/index.jsp

Hyperion System 9 BI+ INTERACTIVE REPORTING

As we observe in Interactive Reporting Calendar, it is having 52 weeks. If the client specifies a new finanacial calendar as per his specifications, there is a chance that Interactive Reporting Calendar will not work for leap years because of more than 52 weeks.

As you know, Sync with Database option is used to update the IR topics/tables with addition/deletion/alteration of columns, as they happen in Database.
In your case, I'm surprised why're you manually changing the Physical name of the topic & then using Sync with Database option. Did you not try to use this option without manually changing the Physical name of the topic ? If I remember correctly, it automatically shows the changes that would be made.

Standard jQuery tabs and an interactive report as a "tab" sub-region

Hi all,
I have a standard, simple implementation of jQuery tabs following the exact instructions by Patrick via this thread:

As one of the "tabs" (sub-regions), I want an interactive report. I use "no template".
Problem is that when the IR is in a tab, the pop-up column menus and such are no longer aligned, e.g. I click one of the column headers of the IR and the pop-up menu shows up much lower on the screen than it should -- sometimes off the screen if I have another region above. Can anyone assist? Maybe it's a DIV tag conflict between the jQuery template and the built-in IR?

Also another issue I've never seen quite resolved -- on "tab2" in the above app, you see what happens when you actually use a template in the sub-region. It breaks off the encompassing parent tab.

Oracle BPM Workspace and IE 11 Compatibility issues

Hi all,
I am using Oracle BPM 10g and when I use IE 9 (till IE 11) or firefox latest versions , chrome,etc.. I get a pop-up with the title "execution" and unable to close the pop-up as well.
Can you please suggest if there is some configurations I should look into?
However, the strange thing is when I enable "Compatibility view settings" in IE 9 and higher, there are no issues seen and the workspace is rendered as expected.

Not the answer you were looking for, but here is the compatibility matrix for Oracle BPM 10g.

Looks like IE 9 is not supported for some reason, but versions other versions of IE and Firefox are. You might have to reach out to Customer Support.

I need integrate diferents data bases and eliminate information redundancy. I think Hyperion Data Relationship Management can help me to acomplish with the task. But i know there is another product named Oracle Customer Hub than can help me too.
Does anybody know the difference between this tools?
Which one its the more appropiate for me?

FCH was a product launched by Oracle to counter Hyperion Financial Management. However, it is not a proven tool. HFM has a very good market standing coupled with its other reporting capabilities. Also, HFM is a industry leader now.
Financial Consolidation Hub will be removed from the Oracle E-Business Suite Component. FCH will not be included with Release 12.1. This is why, customers are advised to move to Hyperion Financial Management.
An automatic migration utility from FCH to HFM has not been implemented. FCH customers who wish to implement Hyperion Financial Management will have to install the application and complete the implementation process manually.

Hide and show region and an interactive report showing side by side

Hi,
I have a report and some filters (drop down list) on a page... I've put my filters in a Hide and show region...
Here is how it's been set up...
Display Point: Page Template Body (1)
20 Filters HTML
Display Point: Page Template Body (2)
10 Report Saved Report
my issue is that the filters and report search region shows side by side in a same row... tried changing the regions but still getting the same response... Please advice

Place both regions to Display Point: Page Template Body (3).
Then set filters region sequence to 10 and report 20
If that is not what you need, please specify more how you like layout look like

Error installation oracle Hyperion interactive reporting web client

I can't install the web client through Hyperion workspace v11.
My steps are:
Workspace --> Tool --> Install --> Interactive Reporting Web Client
Then error message is shown: unexpected status 400 (no host matches server name XXXXXX.com) returned on XXXXXX:45000/workspace*/dataaccess/../../InsightInstaller/setup.ini access check
Please check if the server is properly configured.
After I pressed OK, another error message is shown:
unable to launch the installer. Please use the information bar (if available) to install activeX control or check if you have Admin right on this computer.
I am using IIS v5.1.
Can any friends help on this issue?
Is there anything to configure in my IIS? or the version is too old ?

The solution to this problem is simple and easy.
Which port are you using to login to workspace for installing the client. I predict its 45000 port.
Try using the 19000 port for logging into the workspace and try installing the IR web client. It works.
Let me know if there are still any issues.

Cache memory usage of Hyperion Planning, Workspace and Financial Reporting

We have installed Hyperion Planning, Workspace and Financial Reporting in one single server and we would like to know is there any cache memory setting can be fine tuned to improved the overall online performance of the system.
How can we control the memory usage of individual user logged into Workspace and Hyperion Planning? And if users generate a large size report in Financial Reporting, should more memory be allocated to the user so as to speed up the report generation speed?

Our onsite consultants told us that as we have many web forms and some web forms contains lot of cells, the compiled Hyperion Planning application is quite large (> 1GB) and sometimes may have "out of memory" problem. We just wonder we are using 64bit version of Windows 2003 we should have a much larger memory address space. How can we improve the "out of memory" issue?
Or Hyperion Planning is still a 32 bit application?
