Architectural difference in oracle HRMS 11i and r12

Hi - does anyone have information on the architectural difference between 11i and r12 in oracle hrms??

There is not much difference between 11i and R12 with respect to architecture.
Some D2k forms moved to OAF and mainly bug fixes and minor enhancements.

The 10.1.3.3 version of OBIEE has support for 11g. I haven't tried using 10.1.3.2.1 with 11g, but I could imagine that 10gR2 connection pool might work instead.

Oracle Applications 11i and R12 on Laptop

Hi All,
I have installed Oracle Applications 11.5.10 and R12 on linux RHEL UP7 in Dell Laptop as different users.
Laptop has the H/W configuration is 4GB Ram and Coure2duo 1.7 Processor speed.
I have installed both successfully. But when i am starting the Both applications fine with out any error.
When i am able to accessing the R12 applications getting this error.

when i am shutdown the R11i able to accessing the R12 fine.But where as i am not able to accessing the both at time.its working one only at a time either 11i or R12.
Please let me know if any body faced like issues.
Note: Can we install R11i and R12 on LAPTOP ? above configuration.

What if you stop the CM on both instances, can you access the R12 page then?
I believe 4 GB of RAM is insufficient to run both instances in addition to the OS, so review the following threads for some tips on how to tune your R12 instance (posted by Michael (mdtaylor)):

Does UMX Work with both Oracle Apps 11i and Oracle Portal

Has some one setup UMX in your 11i instance.. How comfortable it is after installation
I am looking to setup UMX for an Apps11i instance...
I am also sharing this Apps11i Database with Portal and Discoverer installation.
It is my initial understanding that the UMX is tightly coupled with Apps11i, Can I also integrate or use UMX with Discoverer/Portal.
Well, my basic purpose of exploring UMX is to get the Automatic Password Reset. If you are aware of anyother Password reset feature (which is not custom built using FND_USER Package & Procedure, coz..upgrade/maintenance issue), Please let me know.

Callback message not appearing on Siemens Hicom connected phones

We have connected two Siemens Hicom 350 PABXs using E1 controllers on two routers. The routers are connected via an IP (over ATM) link. Siemens digital phones are connected to each PABX. Calls are going across smoothly, however, when callback feature is initiated from a phone on one PABX to a phone on the other PABX, the initiating phone shows the message "Not possible" although the callback is actually set and does call back. The message should show as "Will call back".

Ok, the situation now is pretty bright. I think you should have noticed the error in the second debug output. The Cisco has hard time in parsing/decoding the ISDN Q.931 packet and therefore shot an error message.
Could you provide me with the IOS versions of the gateways, or even better - the H323 versions they are running.
For the time being, I would recommend to you to issue the global command "isdn gateway-max-internetworking". With this command the Cisco gateways will try to do their best to pass transparently the unknown ISDN packets without trying to decode them. Let me know if that works.
After checking the H323 version, compiled into your gateway's IOSes, you should see if they are running H323 version 2,3, or 4. AFAIK, 12.3 IOSes are running H323 version 4, which has the ability to "tunnel" QSIG messages over the IP.

Cant Open Oracle Apps 11i Forms after installing latest JRE

We are currently on Oracle Apps 11.5.10.2. I had to install latest JRE 1.6 Update23 to be able to work on BI Publisher Templates and now I can't open any of the Oracle Forms under eBusiness Suite. IE just crashes, doesnt show any message on JInitiator Console either. Same issue with Mozilla Firefox browser.
FYI..I have a colleague who is able to work on both...BI Publisher Template Mgr and Oracle Fin Forms with latest JRE installed..So dont think its a server issue, its just my client setup. Any help is appreciated.

What is the difference between your client and your colleague client (in terms of client OS, browser, installed applications, ..etc)?
Do you meet the requirements in (Recommended Browsers for Oracle E-Business Suite 11i [ID 285218.1])?

Architectural difference between 11i and R12

Hello Guys:
I am planning do a training in Oracle Apps very soon. We are running 11.5.10 CU2 and for the most part it won't be upgraded to R12 in at least next 1 year. Now that the R12 is released Oracle has more of R12 trainings than 11i. Given this situation I am in a dilemma has to which version I should be doing the training. 11i or R12.
I firmly believe that unless otherwise there is a huge change in Application Architecture I should go with R12. I went through some of the R12 release notes and to me it looks there is not much of a difference in Architecture between 11i and R12. Do you think my decision to do R12 is wise?
