Oracle Import errors IMP-00098, IMP-00028 , IMP-00008

Hi all
I have successfully exported a schema called ahc from Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 on linux.
but when i imported in test db server running the same OS and Oracle Versions.it returnd errors .
i took the export three times but got the same error while importing.

Hello,
You may experience a bug or a corruption in the "dump". If it's a corruption you may retry your export/import.
But, anyway, the classical Export/Import is not recommended. Starting with 10.1 you should use Datapump
(expdp/impdp).

Oracle Import Error

Hi,
As part of project requirement I want to import a oracle dump file(possibly exported from oracle 9i or 10g) which was given to me from third party.
I dont have extensive knowledge on Oracle since I am purely into Microsoft Technologies.
I installed Oracle 11g std edn(trial version) and done everything right. I changed the default pwd for SYS , SYSTEM as requested by Oracle universal installer.
I was able to successfully login to localhost site with these id's. However when i try to import the .dmp file into my dB it gives me ORA-01435 user does not exist.
I tried both interactive and cmd line mode of import statement but nothing worked so far.I can see the following lines.
Export file created by EXPORT:V09.02.00 via conventional path
import done in WE8MSWIN1252 character set and AL16UTF16 NCHAR character set
export client uses US7ASCII character set (possible charset conversion)

Sorry I dont know how to paste screenshot in this question.
Please someone help me with this issue. Also after indicating this error I dont know how to go back to the cmd mode. the window does not respond after the error.

I guess that you would have installed DB Control as well. That will give you a GUI interface that you can use to CREATE USER and Grant privileges to the user.

It would be preferable to create tablespaces as well -- or you could assign the user the USERS tablespace when you create it.

コマンドは問題なさそうですね。
状況の切り分けをしてみるといいかもしれません。
　・9.2.0.1.0のDBサーバー上、もしくは同じバージョンのClientでファイルを出力したか？
　・10.2.0.2.0のDBサーバー上、もしくは同じバージョンのClientでファイルをインポートしたか？
　・少量のデータでも問題が起きるか？
　・別のテーブルではどうか？
　・別のユーザーのテーブルではどうか？
　・もう一度取り直したエクスポートファイルではどうか？
　・両方のデータベースの文字コードは同じか？
＃よくあるチェック内容の箇条書きで申し訳ないです。
＃他にもいろいろあるかと思いますが・・・
元ファイルが壊れている、なんてことも
ごく稀にあるかと思いますので
ちょっと確認してみてください。
サポート契約があるのであれば
サイトでバグの可能性はないかどうかも
検索してみるといいかもしれません。

i've been working for too long in the last 2 days and maybe don't think straight anymore. I'm having some strange import problem. Here the facts:
Error:

IMP-00028: partial import of previous table rolled back: 559411 rows rolled back
Source: 9.2.0.4 Sun Solaris 64Bit UTF8
target: 10.2.0.4 Windows 2003 64Bit UTF8
NLS_LANG have been checked and re-checked
file was compressed on fly with gzip
file was transfered via FTP
uncompress (WinRAR) on Windows box succeeded
importing any table after this raises same error although TAB iteself is not being imported
import runs fine (of the same gzip file) into a 10.2.0.4 on another server running 32bit XP
previous 4 exports between same systems succeeded without any issues
Some inspiration would deeply appreciated at the moment.

Just seeing if anyone else has experienced this. I am trying to install the Demo data from the book, and all of the import files fail and I get the following error:

the database version I am using is 9.2 I know its not the latest and greates, but I cant imagine the import tool would be different based on a newer version. If so any clue on how I upgrade the import??

ORACLE 10g : Datapump-Import : Error: unknown parameter name 'REMAP_TABLE'

Hi,
I am working on Oracle 10g. When executed import datapump script in the UNIX box with option “RMAP_TABLE” I received the error “unknown parameter name 'REMAP_TABLE' “Can you please give me solution for it?

to take the DDL, you can use either SQLFILE option in impdp or use dbms_metadata.get_ddl

This is a forum of volunteers, no one is paid to "hop to" as soon as a new question goes up. Export/Import Error 600

Hi
I export a user on Solaris (ORA 9) and want to import on Windows (ORA 9). Data imports - but Triggers generate an error.
What's wrong ?

This is likely a DRL issue. verify DRL is configured correctly and a valid PLM4P user is setup in the setup assistant. in addition, make sure you added the new app in IIS for DRLService (this is a doc bug we are correcting that we failed to include in the 611 guide). verify you can attach and then open an attachment on a material spec.

Import Error: Urgent

Hi All
I am having problems importing a .dmp file which a colleague gave me.. into a current instance of my own database...
We have imported the database on to his machine and another test machine but my laptop is still having problems..
I am using a batch file which reads:

1. I do have the database i am importing on my

script?imp is a client-side tool, so you need to specify how to connect to the (database) server. Either set ORACLE_SID or use a connect string.
Modes and how to specify import parameters can be found in the docs.
Specifying fromuser=name and full=N may look somewhat confusing, but syntax allows it. However if you "activate" both modes
$ imp system file=per.dmp fromuser=hej full=y
you'll end up with
IMP-00024: Only one mode (TABLES, FROMUSER, or FULL) can be specified

i run this import command at dos prompt:

the DirectoryId issue is outside of COBRAS power to do anything about - if there's no directory Id being put into the database by the SQLSyncSvr process than any tool that uses it (DiRT, GSM, COBRAS, BulkDelete etc...) cannot act on the user - that means they are not propelry/fully created in AD. so you will need to solve that problem seperately (almost always a permissions/configuration issue in Unity - the tools have no bearing on this and never, ever connect directly to AD for any operation - it's all done through Unity services). Always start by looking in the SQLSyncSvrxxx log found in the commserver logs folder - SQLSyncSvr never logs errors in the event log so far as I know.
The other errors there look like time/date format issues - I'm guessing based on the text of the output that the locale is causing issues - if you want to send the backup MDB file to me (no messages, just the directory backup MDB file) I can run some tests in house - I'll need to know details about what you're restoring to (version and locales installed) and I can test it in debug mode in the lab here to see if I can run that down at any rate.

Import error (8.1.6 - 10g)

Hello all,
I am trying to import data to 10g database using dump files created on oracle 8.1.6. A week ago I already did this with some other database but now I am getting the following error:
. importing SCOTT's objects into SCOTT
IMP-00009: abnormal end of export file
Import terminated successfully with warnings.
A lot of data is imported before this error occurs. Files were transferd to 10g server using scp so I guess they are not corrupted. I did fresh export on 8.1.6 but I got the same error when importing new files. Is there a way to test dump files without importing data. I would like to test files on 8.1.6 server where they where created.
Can anyone help me please. Thanks.

On 8.1.6 server where I did export is
SLOVENIAN_SLOVENIA.EE8ISO8859P2
on 10g server where i am trying to do import it is
SLOVENIAN_SLOVENIA.UTF8
Those parameters are set in ENV and also in database.
Note that I am not importing rows. First I would like to import empty tables so that they will be big enough. I set NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS=CHAR on 10g server and after importing empty tables I plan to update all tables to appropriate size. I already did this successfully with another database.
I tested export files with imp tool on 8.1.6 where they were created and they are OK. So I suspect there is some incompatibility or bug. I think it is not transfer problem, but I am going to copy files back to original server and do diff.
