Oracle integration suggestion.....

Guys,
Yesterday, I asked the question about the Oracle and Access integration and I got the answer that through oracle heterogeneous service, you can connect to ms access to insert/update data.
I had an another thought about the direct vs. indirect integration method.
1. Using XML to send and receive data between oracle and MS. Access.
Have a specified location where oracle will generate xml file and on specified time interval ms access checks the folder and process
that file. Same other way around Access can generate xml file and oracle can process that file using scheduling job.
2. Using heterogeneous service - seems like a free service as I was able to find MS Access driver online
If immediate information is needed in both system then I don't have any choice but to use heterogeneous service*??*
If information can wait for the scheduling job, I am planning to propose the approach 1 (generate/process xml file)
Anything I need to consider or missing / or one is better than another?

thanks ace2, quick question ....
A*nybody can tell me for sure if there is any cost involve with oracle --> ms access integration ?*
Also, there will be two way communication: oracle to ms access and ms access to oracle...... so i was thinking about using XML file to communicate data between two systems.
any thought?

  • Oracle Integration Adapter for SAP R/3

I am working with a customer implementing Oracle EBS Release 12.2.
The customer has implemented SAP for financial modules and the oracle solution considers an EBS - SAP Integration for Receivables. Does anyone have any experience integrating Oracle EBS Receivables with SAP? Can you give us some guidance regarding EBS - SAP Integration best practices?
We have found a paper regarding Oracle Integration Adapter for SAP R3. We would like to have some information about what are the Oracle products we can integrate with SAP using Oracle Integration Adapter for SAP R3.
In case Oracle EBS can integrate with SAP using Oracle Integration Adapter, we would like to know if anyone has experience integrating Oracle EBS Receivables with SAP using Oracle Integration Adapter for SAP R3 for AR transactions and Receipts?
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you veyr much Manoj for your reply. I just tried it now buit no fruits.
I wonder if it can really be due to privileges given to my account, which allows to connect thru SAP Front-end but does not allow to connect by any other means. I can not think of any other possible reason.

I am using FusionOrderDemo_R1PS4 for FOD, but I am trying to build it on SOA_11.1.1.6.0_GENERIC_111217.1257. I know that there could be some mismatch, but I want to fix them.
Any way to fix this without using SOA earlier version?

  • How to access Oracle Integration Repository on E-Business Suite

I saw a Power Point presentation on Oracle integration that shows screen shots of Integration Repository. But that doesn't tell how to go to that screen. The presentation is at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/applications/integration/1147_EBS_and_SOA.ppt.
A white paper also refers to Integration Repository, but doesn't tell how to go to that screen on E-Business Suite.
Does anyone know how to reach that screen?

    Hello Rahul,
Even if the EBS Interface Repository exposes Web Services I think the best forum to ask this question will be in the Oracle Applications ones.

  • OIM Integration with Oracle Retek -- Suggestions / Prior Experience ?

    Hello,
We are looking to integrate OIM with Retek suite for user management (Automated Provisioning / Termination etc).
Has anyone done this before ? Is DB connector feasible option ? Any whitepapers ?
    Thanks,

'Oracle Identity MANAGEMENT' is a high level view of the digital lifecycle and is a suite of Identity Management products from Oracle. There is a product 'Oracle Identity MANAGER' which is primarily a provisioning tool. Its confusing and misleading when people refer both as OIM.
In order to synch/integrate Oracle Internet Directory (OID) and Active Directory (AD), or OID and any 3rd party directory, we need not install Oracle Identity Manager. During the installation of OID, it'll guide you to install Oracle Application Server Infrastructure.

  • CSV to Oracle - (Integration) fails on the target ORACLE connection

    Hi,
I am trying to load data from a csv file into Oracle db via ODI.
Here are the steps i followed:
1- Created the FILE physical schema
1- Created the Oracle data server and physical schema in Physical Architecture
2- Created and linked to logical schemas
3- Created the correspondent data models and stores and a
ble to view the data contents of the CSV and of the target table in ODI.
4- Created interface, added csv as source and oracle table as target
5- Used "LKM File to SQL" and "IKM SQL Control Append" (FLOW_CONTROL is false)
When i execute the interface, the session starts then i receive the following wrror in Operator:

    Hi Santy,
No, no error or bad files.
Actually the data are moved correctly into the temp table created by ODI, but not from there to the final target table.
I found out the reason though, the knowledge modules imported were from another ODI installation!
I made sure to import the proper KM and it worked.
    Thanks!

  • Oracle Integration with PACS

We are running an application in Oracle 10g database, and the requirements are:
this database should communicate with the PACS (picture archiving and communication systems) in HL7 format, This communication includes sending and receiving HL7 messages in timely fashion and based on events between the oracle database and the SQL Server (PACS), the coversion of the data from oracle database to HL7 format and parsing back on recieving from the SQL Server.
can Oracle interConnect be used for this purpose, and if so how
    Any suggestion will be appreciated

I think it can be achieved using InterConnect but this would require significant work by hand and the use of some propriatory stuff like D3L ( to convert HL7 --> XML and v.v. ). InterConnect has been put into maintenance mode as you might now.
I would suggest that you look at Oracle ESB. ( Enterprise Service Bus ). ESB is better suited in my opinion for your integration requirements.
ESB can read andwrite non-XML files with ease and convert them to XML internally for further processing.

  • Oracle evolution suggestion : NULL and Index

    Hello,
As you know in most of case NULL values are not indexed and then not searchable using index.
Then when you do where MyField is null, you have the risk of doing a full table scan
However most of people don't know that, and then doesn't care of this possible issue and of possible solution (bitmap or including a not null column)
SQL Server, MySQL and probably some others DB don't have the same behavior as they indexes NULL
I know this caveat can be used to have partial indexing by nulling non interesting values and then can't be removed
Then I would suggest to enhance the create index command to allow to index also null with something like that
Create index MyIndex on MyTable(MyColumn including nulls )
As you make this change, perhaps it would be geat to change the behavior documented bellow as it looks more as an old heritage too by adding keyword like "allow null duplicate" and "constraint on null duplicate"
Ascending unique indexes allow multiple NULL values. However, in descending unique indexes, multiple NULL values are treated as duplicate values and therefore are not permitted.
    Laurent

    Hello,
Thanks, for the links it cover mains solutions to index null values, there's also the usage of bitmap index.
All of them are not very intuitive for an non expert.
But the purpose of my message was mainly to higlight this complexity for a quite basic stuff, as I think that the default solution should be to index nulls and eventually allow to do not index them.
As I said this is the behavior on sql server and mysql. That why i suggest to enhance index behavior to allow to index nulls easily and not by using stange tips like indexing a blank space or a not null column.
This solutions are from my viewpoint workaround, helpfull workaround but still workaround, Oracle database team have the power to change this root cause without breaking ascending compatibility, here is the sense of my message, just hopping they can hear me...
