Oracle InterConnect 10g

Can you install Oracle AS Interconnect 9.0.4 with a 9iAS Rel 2 (9.0.2) Infrastructure?
I noticed an issue listed in the 10g certification matrix : "383392 - Oracle AS InterConnect is only certified with 9.2.0.4 metadata repository"...does this refer to the product metadata in the infrastructure database or the metadata repository in the Hub database?
Can someone please clarify this? Thanks in advance!

Have you ever installed Oracle Interconnect Hub10g?On what database version?I have tried to install Interconnect Hub 10g on 9.2.0.5 DB and get a bug with postinstallation script hubschema.bat-calling dbms_aqadm.create_queue_table and get error. Entry from alert.log- Errors in file /app/oracle/product/9.2.0/rdbms/log/demo_ora_3231.trc: ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [0000000000000000] [SIGSEGV] [Invalid permissions for mapped object] [0x000000000] [] []. What configuration in your working environment(if its no a secret)?

  • Interconnect 10g

    Hello,
    I installed Oracle Interconnect 10g for a proof of concept. My client has 60 systems having a 300 link between them. Those systems are developed with forms/ report (60%), microsoft technology, mainframe, clipper, etc.
    We have a lot of questions but for the purpose of that forum I will post only some questions:
    Q1 : What is the criteras to help me to choose between AQ and DB adapter ? It is not clear!
    Q2 : In iStudio, one of the required transformation include a substring and a stringreplace. How can implement it in a simple manner (without calling a plsql, etc.) ?
    Q3 : My client uses 5 staging steps for is application (that stages may be in different database), from development to production. How can migrate individual change in the repository from one staging area to another ?
    Q4 : Documentation: do you have only adapter's guide and user's guide ? That guides are too generic.
    Q5 : For a form using views (to communicate with others systems) as base table in a block, it is correct to keep that views instead of the use of Interconnect to operate that system link ?
    Thank you very much to help us !

    Q1 : There's less code with DB adapter - it's simplier
    Q2 : These transformations are included in the Mapping parameters screen - you just have to described the index and number of characters
    Q3 : We finally decided to use OAIIMPORT instead of MIGRATE tools. The main reason is that workflow migration does not exist. Another reason is that it's more rigourous
    Q4 : Yes - lukilly there's some good tutorials
    Q5 : This is not the same usage . Interconnect is used for asynchronous not synchonous links

    Thank you

    I had this problem and resolved it by transporting the file to the installation server with the correct ftp datatype (binary).
    On page 54 of the install guide (..Server\Oracle_Business_Intelligence\doc\doc\bi.1013\b31765.pdf) that comes with the installation files, there is an instruction to make sure that any ftp activity is done in binary.
    This may not have occured with the license.xml file if you use a tool which offers the "feature" of automatic datatype recognition.
    Hope this helps.

  • Oracle Database 10g - RAC install

    1)
    I am trying to install Oracle 10g RAC (for Solaris Operating System (SPARC)) using 'Enterprise/Standard Edition for Solaris Operating System (SPARC, 64-bit) - ship_rel10_sol64_db.cpio.gz' downloaded installation. There is no separate installation for RAC, so I assume this is the right install to use for RAC, right?
    Since I don't have cabeling for Interconnect done yet, I tried to install Database/RAC prior CRS installation, but no option has been offered for RAC. Do I need to have clustering software installed first in order to be able to installl Oracle Database RAC?
    2)
    Why is Oracle Database 10g release 10.1.0.3 patch set (for Solaris Operating System (SPARC)) so large - 648 MB?
    Do I need to install 10.1.0.2 first?

    Hello,
    there's no extra RAC software package, but the option is only offered, if one of the supported cluster layers for the respective OS has been installed before.
    10.1.0.3 looks like a complete redesign, but anyway it is a patch, you have to install 10.1.0.2 first.

  • Oracle Interconnect in 11g?

    Hello guys,
    I have few questions on Oracle Interconnect.
    1. Is Interconnect part of Oracle 11g SOA Suite?
    2. How Oracle Interconnect is different from Oracle BPEL/ESB?
    3. How easy (Design,development effort) is it to migrate from Oracle Interconnect to Oracle BPEL/ESB, if required?
    Can someone please provide more information on Oracle Interconnect?
    Thanks in advance,
    Phani

    Interconnect is really old stuff, used to be part of Oracle AS 9i .
    I haven't done any migration, but for SOA 10g there was an Interconnect-adapter that you possibly could use if it's still available.
    You will need to talk to someone at Oracle about this.
    Otherwise you need to rewrite all integrations...

    can ne body help me in this regards,
    Best Regards,

    This error might be caused by the fact that the hub database is built using a character set which is neither US7ASCII, nor WE8DEC, nor WE8ISO8859P1, nor UTF8.
    If this is true, then in your adapter start script and all the other relevant components, you will have to include the library $ORACLE_HOME/jdbc/lib/nls_charset12.zip or $ORACLE_HOME/jdbc/lib/nls_charset11.zip, as appropriate, in your CLASSPATH.
    If you have access to Metalink, you can check out Note 178994.1 for more details.

  • Oracle Interconnect

    Hi guys
    Trust you are all doing well?
    Not sure if I am posting in the correct Forum.
    I would like to know if anyone could direct me to a site that gives a thorough explanation to what Oracle Interconnect is and how it works.
    Would appreciate the help.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi RuanK,
    An interconnect is the high-speed, low latency communication link between nodes in a cluster.
    Oracle Clusterware uses the interconnect for cluster synchronization (network heartbeat) and daemon communication between the the clustered nodes. This communication is based on the TCP protocol.
    Oracle Database RAC uses the interconnect for cache fusion (UDP) and inter-process communication (TCP). Cache Fusion is the remote memory mapping of Oracle buffers, shared between the caches of participating nodes in the cluster. The volume and traffic patterns of this type of data, shared between nodes can vary greatly depending on the applications.

  • HP-UX: Oracle AS 10g Reports server hangs

    I have installed Oracle AS 10g Forms and reports services on HP-UX. Initially Forms and reports were working fine. Presently forms are also working fine.
    However reports started giving problem REP-56055: Exceed max connections allowed then changed the value of maxconnects from 20 to 100.
    Presently reports server gets hang. If I try to run test report from the URL:
    http://venus.marineterminals.com:7780/reports/rwservlet?server=rep_venus_OracleAS_FormsReports+destype=cache+desformat=html+report=test.rdf
    I am getting the following error message "No Response from Application Web Server " Can anybody please help me to rectify this issue.

    Hello,
    Most of the times, the error REP-56055: Exceed max connections allowed is returned because some reports exections are hanging and keep the connection.
    Have you tried to use the Reports engine attribute "engineResponseTimeOut" in order to kill automatically the reports execution that are hanging ?
    http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_17/bi.1012/b14048/pbr_conf.htm
    Of course, the real cause of the problem should be investigated ...

  • Partner Self-registration in Oracle B2B 10g

    Hi B2B team,
    Wanted to confirm from you if there is any provision for Partner self-registration in Oracle B2B 10g. We are on the latest patch. I am not aware of this functionality but wanted to get this confirmed from the product team.
    Also, we will require a server restart when a new TP comes onboard in Oracle B2B 10g isnt it? Is my understanding correct or is there something we can do to overcome this?
    Regards
    Kavitha

    Kavitha,
    Drop a mail to B2B product dev team/PM to know more on this part. As far as I know there is no such facility in 10g. Yes, bounce may be required in case of certificate changes involved.

  • Oracle reports 6i to Oracle forms 10g migration

    Hi,
    I have .rdf files which were created on Oracle Reports 6i. I would like to migrate the .rdf files into Oracle Reports module which is present as a part of Oracle Forms 10g to generate PDF output.
    Please let me know the detailed steps to be followed as I am a total newbie. Also I need to generate these reports on demand from a java 5 application (JSF 2.0).
    Currently for ORacle reports 6i, I have the following code in my java application
    rwrun60.exe g:\tomcat33\webapps\reports\web-inf\src\null userid=***/*** destype=FILE desformat="pdf" paramform=NO printjob=NO batch=YES desname=temp.pdf
    1. What would be the equivalent for reports in ORacle Forms 10g ? I know there is an Oracle Apps server where ther report services reside. How to I invoke my report from my java application (residing on a weblogic server 10.3.6)?
    2. What ould I do with the 6i .rdf files to upgrade them to 10g ?

    I am trying to call an Oracle report i.e .rdf (which is located on the Oracle  App Server) from my java EE 5 (JSF) application. The Oracle  App server is Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2. I assume Oracle report generation capability is available in this release.  I need to invoke the report from my Java JSF application on demand (whenever the user clicks a button on the web browser page, the report should appear on the browser as PDF) . My java application resides on Linux weblogic server.
    Please let me know how it can be done ? I see rwclient.sh and another method to directly invoke using a URL. How do I do it on java, would a request.redirect() to the URL work ?
    Also for hiding the params in the URL. keys need to be configured on the Oracle server right ?
    Also if we use rwclient.sh or the URL based invocation, would there be any issue in concurrency when multiple users request the same report at the same time ?

  • Running an exe from within Oracle WebLogic 10g R3 does not find dll

    Hi,
    I am facing a strange issue with Oracle WebLogic 10g R3.
    I use the code as shown in Listing 1 below to run a windows based application exe (batch job) from within my web application hosted on Oracle WebLogic 10g Release 3.
    Note that this code woks fine on Tomcat 6.x and OC4J (JDeveloper TP4).
    The exec gets executed but the log of the exe program shows it could not load certain DLLs.
    Note that these DLLs are in the same directoy as the Batch program and this directory is in the PATH.
    Running through simple Java Program Successful*
    When I run the same program from a java program it runs successfully. So this means some WebLogic environment does not get set properly.
    Running directly BatchProg.exe rather than cmd.exe fails*
    Also note that when I run the exe directly e.g. BatchProg.exe rather than through cmd.exe it gives me a error the system did not find the file specified.
    CreateProcess error=2, The system cannot find the file specified with cause java.io.IOException: CreateProcess error=2, The system cannot find the file specified
    Listing 1:*
    String[] commandArgs = new String[|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/] { "cmd.exe", "/C", "BatchProg.exe \"param1\" \"param2\" " },null , l_workingDir)
    Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
    Process proc;
    proc = rt.exec( commandArgs, envParams, workingDir );
    ProcessIO errStream = new ProcessIO( proc.getErrorStream(), "ERROR");
    ProcessIO outStream = new ProcessIO( proc.getInputStream(), "OUTPUT");
    errStream.start(); // process any errors from the command
    outStream.start(); // process any output from the command
    System.out.println("Error=" +errStream);
    System.out.println("Out" + outStream);
    return (p_waitToFinish ? proc.waitFor() : this.SUCCESS);

    OK.
    I have posted this on the WebLogic Forum.
    Thanx.

  • Oracle Forms 10G(tabbed canvasses not working the same as in Forms 6i)

    Hi everyone,
    I have a form which gets called from another form through a list of value. The called form(second form) has a group of tabbed canvases which get displayed depending on the parameters passed from the first form.
    The Form is working prefectly fine in Forms 6i but when I converted the same form in to forms 10G it does not seem to work the same way. The tabbed canvasses are not getting displayed. I am manually having to press the execute query to get data displayed in the tabbed canvasses. I checked the parameters that are being passed and they are the same as that in Forms 6i.
    Please let me know where my 10G Form is going wrong. Appreciate your help, please send me an email on [email protected]

    Check pushitz website and ensure that you have all the required rpms installed properly.
    Check the log files in the installation directory. That should give some more details as to what exactly is going on.

  • Unable to continue Oracle Database 10g R2 installation on IBM AIX 5.3L

    I am facing some difficulties in installing the above. My environment is as follows:
    Server is a IBM system P, OS is AIX 5.3L and oracle version is Oracle Database 10g R2 (10.2).
    I encounter my problem when asked to changed/edit the shell script when changing oracle users. I can't find the % vi .login file. And I'm not sure how to proceed.
    Please advice as to what needs to be done.
    Thank you

    i'm using bash shell.If you are using a bash shell then .bash_profile is used by default.
    It is located in user's home, if it does not exist then simply create it.
    can this file be edited after installation?Yes. And also you can set the enviroment temporary (just for current session)
    I just can't find the vi .login file."vi" is command (text editor very common in Unix and Unix like world)
    .login does not need to exist (see .bash_profile as above). Note .login is ignored by bash shell.
