Oracle IRM Adobe Reader XI support

Is there a date available when Oracle IRM Desktop will support the latest version of Adobe Reader 11?

If you are an Oracle Support customer please review KM note 1500011.1 for the specific situation regarding Adobe XI.
Regards,
Frank.

    Android Adobe Reader - Arabic support
    Dear Support,
    I am trying to reach the developer for long time but the email provided is a mailing list which no one else has the right to post to it except their team.
    There is a big problem with Arabic words searching in an Arabic PDF file with adobe Reader for android. To search for a word, I have to write the words backward, like instead of "Adobe" I have to write "ebodA" but in Arabic language. I know that your app developers are Indians, but please let an Arabic person show you how he can't search for a word in an Arabic PDF file. Please fix it urgently. it is very important for the Arabic language readers. Thanks for your action.

    Adobe Reader - Android Apps on Google Play

    Please try the Adobe Reader Android forum.
    You might find that this is a limitation in either the software or the file. Some Arabic files are written left-to-right internally, and look right but are backwards in each line.

  • How do I get Adobe Reader to support Brothers Wireless MFC printer

    When I request Adobe Reader on my Android Samsung S5 to print a PDF file, it displays my HP and Canon printers, but not my Brothers wireless printer.  How do I get support for my Brothers printer?  I can print to this printer from other applications.  It is a new printer and even supports NFC.

    Hi,
    Could you please help us with the following queries?
    1. What is the Android version of your device and the Adobe Reader version that you are running?
    2. How do you print your documents? Through the Google Cloud Print or any other print plugin?
    This will help us in understanding your issue better.
    Thanks,

  • Adobe Reader / Flash support on Windows XP

    Hi All,
    I would have a quick question regarding to the extended support. The last information I have read was that the support ends in May 2014.
    Is that still correct?
    Does it man that neither Adobe Reader/Acrobat nor Adobe Flash Player is supported on Windows XP anymore?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Zoltan

    Adobe Reader 10.1.11 / 11.0.08 was the last officially supported version for Windows XP.  Reader 10.1.12 / 11.0.09 dropped support for XP.
    Flash Player is still supported on Windows XP, as of the current version 15.0.0.152 / 15.0.0.167.

  • Does Adobe Reader 8 support hostContainer?

    Hi there!
    I designed a form using LiveCycle Designer 8 and save it as a PDF.
    I access the PDF through a html page.
    The PDF worked all right if i using Acrobat pro 8,but when i using the PDF with Adobe Reader 8 it seemed that hostContainer can not work.
    In the "docReady" event i call the following function:
    function RegisterMessageHandler() {
    event.target.hostContainer.messageHandler = {
    doc:event.target,
    onMessage: function(message)
    onMessageFunc(message)
    onError: function(error, message)
    alert('PDF messageHandler onError: ' + error + ' ' + message);
    onDisclose: function(cURL, cDocumentURL) { return true; }
    And in the click event of a button i call this sentence:
    if(!event.target.hostContainer)
    app.alert( "No hostContainer obj" );
    else{
    I don't know why Reader failed.
    May be there is difference between Acrobat pro and Reader or the form need LiveCycle Extensions.
    Can someone give me some idea?

    Does/did Acrobat Reader 8 support creation of PDF files from word processor files such as MS Word and WordPerfect? I thought I remembered accomplishing this at one point, perhaps with an earlier version of Adobe Reader 8. Trying to do so now with the currently available version, 8.1.3, causes an error message.

  • Adobe Reader "not supported on this type of Mac."

    After years with system 10.4, my new iMac is a week old and I need to check application manuals -- then, if they use Adobe Reader, I get the above message. Nor can I open the application for the same reason.
    I'm no lover of Adobe and it's constant online interruptions, but clearly I need some of it. So please, what exactly does one need?
    Thanks . . . Fortes

    By "Adobe icon" I assume you mean a document file with an extension of ".pdf" (like "Users Manual.pdf") that in Finder views shows "Kind" as "Portable Document Format."
    If so, you can probably eliminate the problem just by deleting the old Adobe Reader application folder (or better yet by running its uninstaller).
    If that doesn't work, or for some reason you want to keep the app on your computer, select any file with a pdf extension in Finder & open the "Get Info" window (command + i). In the "Open with" section, use the popup to select Preview & then click the "Change all" button.
    This will make Preview the default app for all pdf files.

  • Adobe Reader None of the version supports Indian Language Hindi

    Hi,
    Can anybody tell me when Adobe Reader will support Indian Language Hindi?
    The problem in detail as:
    I can save MS Word 2013 file as PDF or I convert some of the report to PDf. It is perfect. But when I want to copy paste the same pdf data to MS Word or Notepad or any other editable application then data gets lost. All Garbage data is getting pasted. PDF do not retain Indian Language data like other Languages (English, Japanese, Chinese, etc.).
    I am waiting for Adobe to solve this problem from the year 2006.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Sitaram Gaikwad

    More info.
    I just created a Word document that had very simple sample text in davanagari (क ख ग घ ङ च छ ज) and uses the correctly set up fonts Arial Unicode MS and Mangal. Printed to Adobe PDF printer.
    These are displayed correctly in Acrobat X.
    They copy back to Word exactly as their original characters.
    However, I have not tested with diacritics or ligatures. I can well imagine these do not travel well.

  • Oracle IRM

    For a school textbook, I recently had to download Oracle IRM Unsealer and with it Adobe Reader (I have Acrobat Pro). After a few weeks, I learned that I didn't need the plug-in any more and so deleted Reader, as well as the plug-in according to the instructions from CengageBrain, the people who published the textbook and told me to download the plug-in:
    (http://www.cengagebrain.com/static/storefront/US/docs/UnsealerInstallationGuideforMacintosh.pdf)
    1. Go to the Applications folder located on your Mac HD.
    2. Located the SealedMedia icon and delete it by dragging it to your trashcan located on the desktop.
    3. Go to the HD and locate the Library folder then the Preferences folder. Open the Preference folder, locate the SealedMedia folder, and delete it by dragging it to your trashcan.
    4. Empty trashcan.
    5. Restart machine.
    The Unsealer should now be successfully uninstalled.
    I did all of that, but when I restarted the machine, the SealedMedia folder was still in my preferences though not in my applications folder.I tried it one more time, but the same thing happened. Now every time I open Acrobat 9 Pro, I get the message "The Oracle IRM Unsealer plugin only supports Acrobat versions 8.0 to 9.3"
    Someone said that in the Applications folder there was an uninstaller for the program. Unfortunately, I didn't know about this so now I don't have that folder nor any type of uninstaller program. What should I do?

    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
    Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
    Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
    Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
    Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
    Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS. Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
    If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term. Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default. You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, Easy Find, instead. Download Easy Find at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
    Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder. Usually with the same name as the program or the developer. The item generally has a ".pkg" extension. Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
    There are also several shareware utilities that can uninstall applications:
    AppZapper
    Automaton
    Hazel
    CleanApp
    Yank
    SuperPop
    Uninstaller
    Spring Cleaning
    Look for them at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

  • Adobe Reader Plugins for Safari 5 on Snow Leopard

    Our software uses Adobe Reader to open, edit, and save Pdf Forms.  Most of our customer base is on Windows but we now have some MAC users as well.  Everything works fine except using Safari 5 on Snow Leopard.  It appears as if the plug ins are not loading properly or at all when Reader 9 is installed.  When a user goes to open a PDF Form, nothing happens.
    My personal Macbook which I have at the office, is Leopard with Safari 5 and when I download Reader 9, I can see the plugins in Safari and everthing works fine.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    On Snow Leopard 10.6, you need to run Safari in 32 bit mode to get the Adobe Reader Plugin to load and launch properly.
    To do this,
    1) exit Safari.
    2) in the Finder go to your Applications folder, select Safari and do File->Get Info
    3) Check 'Open in 32-bit mode' in the General pane of that dialog
    4) Relaunch Safari
    5) Under the Safari Help->Installed Plug-ins you should now see the Adobe Reader plugin support.
    I am able to get Safari to open forms inline in Reader this way.  I am not able to get the Adobe Forms with Adobe Javascript running in this mode.  Any insight on how this might be done would be helpful.  It does work in the Standalone Reader, but so far no luck enabling it in the Safari plugin.

  • Print not working in Adobe Reader 11.0.07.

    It does not acknowledge that I have clicked the “print” button in the program. Control   P also has no response. Therefore, I cannot even look at printer settings. I am running Mac OS X 10.9.4. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled a few times. Admin settings allow me to print PDF’s. Printer is an HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP. All other programs are able to print. Only Adobe Reader is not working. Any ideas?

    I didn't notice where they may have said to be sure you have the very latest print drivers installed but, you should install them if you haven't already.

  • How do I bookmark in Adobe reader touch?

    How do I bookmark in adobe reader touch?  I have the surface pro.  When I swipe from the side I only have the search, share, start, devices and settings icons.

    Adobe Reader Touch does not support adding new custom/personalized bookmarks to pages yet.
    Currently, Adobe Reader Touch supports viewing pre-existing bookmarks that have been created by the author of a given PDF document. If a PDF document has bookmarks, Reader Touch shows the Bookmarks button on the right side of the top toolbar.
    The users of Adobe Reader for iOS/Android have requested the capability of adding new custom/personalized bookmarks as well.  We are planning to add the capability to a future release of Adobe Reader Touch. But we cannot commit to a specific date for the release at this point.
