Oracle Lite for x86 Emulation

Oracle Lite ships with libraries for MIPS and SH3. I need to do my development on NT with VC++6.0 and a Windows CE Toolkit for VC++6.0.
I need Oracle Lite libraries for x86 emulation. How does one obatin these.
Are there any other emulators that I could use to develop on NT and finally deploy on a device running Windows CE.
Any experience with Oracle Lite emulation for Windows CE will greatly help.
Thanks in advance

Oracle 5.0.10 does not provide an x.86 emulator for CE.nt devices. Eventually this will be an Oracle tool that will be an extension of .net.
Cheers,
Phil

Oracle VMS for X86 version 2 can upgrade to VMS version 3?A method?Need,

I'm running OS X 10.3.9 & have ITunes 7. Got a IPhone4 for xmas & ITunes 7 won't talk to it. So I need to upgrade the OS apparently to be able to upgrade ITunes. Of course ITunes 10 is for intel macs only, so the question is--what's the latest version of OS X that I can get to upgrade ITunes so the IPhone 4 will sync? Whew that was a lot....
    Thanks for any help
I think others have answered most of your questions, but you indicated that "iTunes 10 is for Intel Macs only" -- that is not actually correct, you can certainly run iTunes 10 on your G5 PowerPC. What you need to do is:
    (1) upgrade to 10.5 operating system
    (2) upgrade to iTunes 10
While Apple doesn't officially sell 10.5 anymore (Apple sells 10.6, but 10.6 won't install on your G5 PowerPC), if you call their 800 number and explain that you need it to use your new iPhone, they may be able to sell you a copy from old inventory. Alternatively, some retailers are still selling older inventory 10.5 install DVDs but you need the version that installs on any computer, many 10.5 disks are made for a specific model only.
Before you do either (1) or (2) above, make sure you have enough memory as indicated by Apple in their system requirements. If you need more memory, it is inexpensive to upgrade.

    Greetings,
    I've just posted an Oracle VM for x86 Reference Design at { *link removed* }

For example, the comments that I've received has suggested that I add sections about Oracle Database Requirements, E-Business Suite Requirements, WebLogic / Fusion Middleware Requirements and Oracle Enterprise Manager Requirements.

    Greg,
    That's a very good news !
And yes, according to the documentation several remarks have been taken in account (some I like during the App template first start), thanks for that.
At a first glance on the Peoplesoft OVM PSDB (the database template), there are still few minor issues :
    1) As said earlier for the HCM template, CSS is not able to start (Failed to start CSS
    2) More annoying, the DEFAULT profile for SYSADM and PEOPLE force a password change on the 23rd of August (180 days life, looks like the db has been built on the 24th of Feb). Is it possible to make it unlimited by default in the future template ? The DEFAULT profile was already a problem for HCM template as well. What will happen if template is started after that date ? Probably the appserv won't start without db modification (SYSADM and PEOPLE password life time
    3) As said earlier for the HCM template, the database does not start automatically on server boot even if we choose that option during the first start of the db OVM.
I'll test the App/Batch/PIA sooni and come back.
Thanks again for the effort of implementing more Peoplesoft templates.
    Nicolas.

I have one question about Oracle Lite for Windows CE on Handheld/PC.

  • Error when installing Oracle Lite for Mobile Field Service Laptop

    Hi,
I am facing a strange problem when installing Mobile Field Service Laptop agent "Oracle Lite" on my laptop.
When I run the setup, it asks me username and password, after entering the information, when I proceed, I see setup window which displays below messages
    "Authenticating with server... "
Please wait. This may take several minutes ...
Then it hangs for several minutes, approx 5 to 10 mins, and then gives message
"Could not connect to server: HTTP/1.0 502 Bad Gateway"
I am not able to proceed with setup.
But none of my other colleagues are facing this issue, even though the network, proxy settings and java version are same.
    Any idea about this error?
    Regards,
    Mohammed

  • Bfile functionality with oracle lite for Synchronization

    Hi there,
In my project requirement, We need to design a standalone version of the applciation which will be used by the marketing people around the globe.
Plan is to use oracle Lite database with this application, as it synchronises with the main server on demand. During our testing we found that Oracle lite do the data transfer /synchronization perfectly but have problem with bfile type data. Precisely, the only problem we are facing is how to synchronize the file which are there on the server as bfile type. As per my info Bfile is not supported by the oracle Lite.
    Any clue will be appreciated.

    Junius,
    Greetings,
Thanks for the reply speedy reply... I took more time in replying as we busy in evaluating the Oracle Lite version 10g.
Well Yeah! you are right and thru packaging, we can have the files downloaded but for me its a work around. Let em explain my situation again.
I have user specific set of files for each of its client which again gets updated quarterly. If I keep this data in the package I'll have to keep 'n' number of files in the package as about 300 odd user will be on field maintaining number of user. Another problem would be to publish and package every quarter. Thired problem would be of downloading this application as size will be too high and relevant data for each of the user would be hardly 10% of the size of the application for each user.
I hope I have clarified the situation. Pl. let me know if you need any more info.
    Regards,
    Sunil Dua

    There are two linux flavor:
    1. Linux Client
The size of the Oracle9i Lite 5.0.1.0.1 release for Linux is 1.9MB. This includes Oracle Lite database, ODBC, JDBC, and utilities for RedHat 7.2 Intel Linux. Go to metalink/patch and search for patch # 2240530.
    2. Linux Server
The 5.0.2 for Linux release includes Mobile Server for RedHat 7.2 Linux, but not the Linux client. This full release includes the entire server framework plus the Mobile Development Kit. Alltogether 250 MB.
