Oracle Maps RC 1 - print problem

Hi,
I have 2 problems with printing a map with Oracle Maps RC 1:
1. I have several basemaps (each transparent) and several FOI themes. my application provides switching on/off all of the basemaps and FOI themes. the result of printing my map is pretty odd: background is black and only last added basemap is on the map (even if it was switched off) + FOI themes (but only borders of their polygons - without inside transparent colour) - so the printed result is completely diffrent from map on screen.
2. after starting printing my hidden "printmap" DIV appears with map to print and when I click on "map" DIV it closes back. I am using ADF Faces verbatime div for both DIVs
thanks,
Branislav

Hi Liujian,
the problem persists in MV 10.1.3.1 production and also in simple HTML page (I guess the problem is somewhere in transparency of PNGs - just guess)
please see the flash demo of the problem: http://www.freewebalbum.com/demo/MVprint/MVprint.html
thanks,
Branislav

  • Print Map with Oracle Map

    I am using Oracle MapViewer 10.1.3.3. In Oracle Map demo, there is a sample for map printing by using style class (noscreen and noprint) for HTML div. However, my application is using Oracle ADF faces, which don't accept a "class" attribute in the tag. Does anyone know how I could print map image only with ADF faces?
    Thanks!

  • Projection problem in OracleAS Map Viewer

    Hi,
    I am using OracleAS Map Viewer 11 EA1and I try to display a map with an image (srid=1002000) and a vector (srid=8192) on the top. If I understand the documentation correctly, the vector might be reprojected into the map srid which is 1002000. But when the map is created, the vector is not correctly reprojected (I see some roads in the ocean!). I am wandering if it is a bug in map viewer; or maybe I didn't use it corectly!
    My query looks like:
    <map_request
    title=""
    datasource="all_images"
    width="1229"
    height="840"
    srid="1002000"

    your map request seems correct, and yes mapviewer will automatically reproject your vector theme if it's srid (8192) is different from the request srid (1002000). What's more likely is that your georaster is not being displayed correctly? Have you tried displaying the vector road data against a know vector boundary data set like country/state, in the 1002000 projection and see if everything is working fine? then add the georaster layer back on and go from there....

  • Oracle Maps Application - get the current Map as ONE Image

    Hi forum,
    is it possible to retrieve one image within an oracle maps application? On the client side oracle maps displays multiple images as one map within one div container. I have the requirement to push the current image to another application. Regards, A. Spiering

    Hi!!!
    I am facing a similar problem. The MapViewer print function just allows me to print. Is there anyway I can copy the map to a clipboard as an image ? Or alternatively is there any way I can generate the map as an image in another window so that the user can download it as an image using right mouse button click ("Save Picture As" option)?
    Thanks a lot.

  • Canon MG6220 wierd zooming/cropping printing problem, only when printing with Windows XP?

    The printer in question is a Canon Pixma MG6220, connected to a WindowsXP printer.  I've printed this same document on a Brother laser printer, that is connected to the same computer, and it prints correctly.  I've printed this same document on a Epson inkjet printer, and it prints correctly.  I've printed this same document at Staples, on one of their big laser printers, and it prints correctly.  So, this printing problem is only occurring with this Canon printer. One other thing that may help you with this, is that last night I moved this Canon printer to another computer, except this one had Windows 7 on it, and it printed flawlessly!  So, it seems that it may have something to do with Windows XP printer driver.
    I'm printing a one page document from Word 2002 which consists of about 10 pictures, no text.  All the pictures on the page are the same height but a different width.  When I print the document, some of the pictures print correctly and some of them do not.
    Essentially, what is happening is that some pictures are zoomed in about 50%, yet still print in the same area that is set in the document.  So, the image looks like it has been rudely cropped.
    The oddest thing is that this only happens to some of the pictures.  There is nothing special about these pictures.  The pictures that print correctly are from the same source as the ones that don't print correctly. I’ve done other Word documents like this, with the same format but different pictures, and they printed wrong too, some pictures correct and some zoomed/cropped.
    Here is a summary of the pictures from the files I attached,  and which ones  printed correctly, and which did not:  The first one is a screen capture of the Word document, and the other is a scan of the printed document.
    Row 1
        Pic 1 – error (zoomed/cropped), Pic 2 – error, Pic 3 – correct, Pic 4 – error
    Row 2
        Pic 1 – correct, Pic 2 – correct, Pic 3 – correct
    Row 3
        Pic 1 – error, Pic 2 – error, Pic 3 – correct, Pic 4 – error
    Row 4
        Pic 1 – error, Pic 2 – error, Pic 3 – correct
    One observation of the incorrectly printed pictures, is that the upper left corners appear unaffected.  It is the lower right corners that get the weird zooming/cropping effect.

    Urgently restore a backup of the registry.
    Urgently do not use the word 'urgently' in a forum of volunteers.
    Also it can not be urgent, as Forms 4.5 dates from the Flintstone age, and probably isn't even certified on XP.
    However, the error message is very clear: Apparently Forms 4.5 uses the registry to store printer info: you need to get that entry back. That kind of info is usually documented. Documentation is likely still online.

  • Oracle Maps and ADF Faces integration

    Hello,
    Developing ADF Faces application with integrated JavaScript Oracle Maps I came across a problem.
    I have Search Form on my JSF page that searches for some object. I want to pass the object's ID to a backing bean that connects to database, uses Oracle Spatial function to locate object via ID and calculate X,Y position for Oracle Maps.
    On the page I want to use setCenter(X,Y,srid) but I don't know how to get those parameters from backing bean or how to access JavaScript object on the page from backing bean.
    Any help?
    Branislav

    You can probablly write a reusable javaScript setCenter() function that takes the x,y as parameters. Note your setCenter() function will need to set the center and also call mapview.display() so that the map will be actually refreshed in the current preview release (this will be made easier in the next preview release of MapViewer).
    Then, during the render-response stage of your search form, where you are creating the result table to be displayed to the user, you can add a click button to each row that says 'center the map on this feature'. Then prewire the 'onClick' function of each button to invoke the setCenter() function above, using the corresponding (x,y) that is in the backing bean of your search results.
    thanks

  • Oracle map

    hi.
    I follow the example from Andrejus's blog @
    http://andrejusb.blogspot.com/2007/01/oracle-maps-and-adf-faces-aftable.html
    however i had problem running it. I manage to configure the mvdemo database, but when i run the page, it is able to show the tables populated with cities, but there is nothing shown on the map on the right hand side. I check the log file, there is no error, only got
    TopLink Info]: 2007.05.02 09:25:06.250--ServerSession(25033969)--TopLink, version: Oracle TopLink - 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.1.0) (Build 061004)
    [TopLink Info]: 2007.05.02 09:25:07.109--ServerSession(25033969)--oramaps login successful
    I imported mvdemo.dmp and also mvdemo.sql into my XE database. As my version is above 9 so i didn't use the mapdefinition.sql.
    Tables created are cities, counties, customers, employees, interstates, maps, oriented_points,states, styles, terr_counties, terr_counties_tmp, territories, territories_tmp and themes
    What could be wrong?
    thanks for any help

    Hi..

    But i have problem running those with javascripts such as
    http://localhost:8888/mapviewer/faces/fsmc/oraclemaps.jspx

  • Oracle Maps RC1 to Prod Migration

    Hello Oracle Support,
    I had a simple oracle maps demo working (on IIS/.NET) with the old api javascript - loadscript.js but the same code now gives a javascript error in the new oraclemaps.js file.
    Line 799 of oraclemaps.js

    Can the new version only work inside OC4J or have some new restrictions been added in?
    Has anyone else had this same problem?

  • Oracle Maps javascript client

    Hello,
    I'm trying to integrate the Oracle Maps client into a web page that will run on a different host and a different app server than OC4J. First of all, is it possible?
    Do I understand correctly that if I copied the sampleApp.html to a diffenent host and changed the baseURL, the page should start talking to the map server host?
    var baseURL = "http://127.0.0.1:8888/mapviewer";
    When I examine the HTTP requests and responses from and to the AJAX client, I get:

    I ran into this problem also, but the solution seems to be fairly easy. They provide a mvproxy.jar. Create a webapp, mapping /proxy to their servlet. You'll also need to package mapviewer.jar for some of the other core classes.

  • Wireless Printing Problems

    Hi
    I have an early 2011 Macbook Pro connected to an Asus RT-N13U wireless router. I have a Canon Pixma MP210 printer that I have tried to setup for wireless printing via the USB port in the router. I thought I had it sorted as the printer will print a test page. However, when I try to print a document, the print queue just says "copying print data" and will go no further.
    I'm using Mac OS X v10.7.2 and the Canon printer driver is v2.7 (this driver recently downloaded via the Apple software update, but the same problems occurred with v2.6 too). When I set up the printer, I click + in the Print & Scan window of system preferences, select IP and then the following:
    Protocol - Line Printer Daemon - LPD
    Address - IP address of router
    Queue - LPRServer
    I then enter a name and location and then from "Print Using" I choose "select printer software" and then select the entry for my printer as named above and click ok.
    If I then print a test page, it works, but as I say, any "normal" document won't.
    If I try auto-select at the Print Using stage, it auto-selects "Generic PostScript Printer" and the message this time when I try to print is that the printer is busy (rather than copying data). There's no option with this driver to print a test page.
    Finally, when I log on to my router, the network map shows my printer is present with text stating the printer name (even before I've added it as a printer on my mac - so something somewhere is recognising it) and "Enabled".
    Any thoughts on how to make this work? Or should I just get used to getting up of the sofa and plugging in a USB cable?
    Thanks

    When you have a Canon inkjet printer connected to the USB port of a router, print server or shared via Windows, you cannot use the Canon provided driver. For these types of connections you need to use a driver that is designed to work, such as those from Gutenprint or PrintFab. Gutenprint is preferred because it is free, however looking at the supported models list for the latest version of Gutenprint, the MP210 is not listed as a supported model. So you could try using one of the other Canon-Gutenprint models, such as the MP150. If you are not able to find a compatible Gutenprint driver for the MP210 then you may have to go down the Printfab path. This software suite does cost €49 but at least it lists the MP210 as a supported printer.
