Oracle mediator parallel or sequential
Hi All,
When should use the static routing to be set as parallel or sequential? My understanding is if the routing rules calculation doesn't have to be in sequence use parallel. But with parallel, I am facing the issue of mediator running for ever.
Thanks
Yes, it can have sequential or parallel,
in case of sequential flow, its kind of straight forward activity transitions
in case of parallel flow, you can assign to the list of approvals at once and wait for one sigle approval or wait for all.

Using Oracle's Parallel Server for synchronizing databases with different tables
Hello,
I have a problem and I was searching through the Oracle documentation.
Then I mentioned the Oracle's Parallel Server (OPS) feature.
The problem I want to fix is the following:
I want to make a copy of a database. Subsequently I want to make changes to the copy of the original database. (possible changes could be extra columns).
Now I want to synchronize the data of both databases...
Is it possible to use Oracle's Parallel Server feature for this task?

HACMP & Oracle's parallel server
Michelin Tire Corporation
At Michelin, we are trying to implement a failover
service object using Oracle 7.3 on RS6000 platform (AIX 4.1.4).
We understand that we need to use HACMP (Clustering) and
Oracle's parallel server. This way the DB Service objects
on two different computer nodes can access the same database.
Has anyone used this configuration? If so, have you had any
problems? and how well does it work?
We would appreciate any information on this subject.
Thanks in advance,

Thomas SamsAt CSI, we have planned to use HACMP with Forte' failover to provide a
high availability architecture for one of our customer.
There are a lot of stuff to consider, some related to hacmp
configuration, some to forte' mechanisms.
In particular we should use HACMP for managing RDBMS backup and Forte'
capabilities to deal with partitions/envs/nodemgrs failover. We have not
take into account Oracle's parallel server at the moment ( althought it
could be a good solution ) because we don't really need to access oracle
from 2 different nodes at the same time, but "just" to have a "realtime"
dbms backup in case of primary server fault.
The architecure we choosen is based on tre AIX server ( 1 application
server, 1 main dbms server, 1 backup server ( oracle failover, envs
failover).
We have started testing it using forte 2.0.h, but we realized that a
more complete functionality will be offered using 3.0 KEEP_ALIVE
features. So I could give you more feedback in the near future.
What type of solution have you in mind ?

Can Oracle 8i Parallel server use ICC on OpenVMS 7.2-1 ? How ?
Hi,
-In a OpenVMS V7.2-1 cluster (with memory channel) can Oracle 8i
Parallel
Server be configured to communicate using ICC (Intra Cluster
Communication OpenVMS system services) and hence SCA over Memory
Channel instead of TCP/IP over Ethernet ?
- How do you configure this ?
Thanks by advance
hfFor who may be interested, i got the answer from
OpenVMS Engineering. This version of Oracle cannot use ICC
on OpenVMS. -
Parallel or sequential routing rule and recovery
I'm trying to implement fault handling via fault policies for a composite, to get faults into the error hospital so recovery is possible.
The fault I'm trying to catch is a service call from a mediator component, but for that to work I have to change the routing rule from sequential to parallel.
So far no problem, it's working.
There are a few synchronous services I want to be able to recover as well, but this is not supported:
"parallel routing rules are not supported for Oracle Mediators with synchronous operations".
Is there another way to get instances of synchronous services into the error hospital for recovery?Hi ,
Check the below blog to set your conditions using condition and expression editor in your receiver determination
/people/shabarish.vijayakumar/blog/2006/06/07/customise-your-xpath-expressions-in-receiver-determination
Let me know if you need any further clarifications on this.

SOA Suite 11.1.1.3.0 Oracle Mediator Error: ORAMED-03503
Hi,
I have the simplest SCA Ever: a mediator calling a external web service through a Bpel Process. This one makes some simple activity like trasformation e assign , before the central invoke; there's no kind of interaction with any DB
The pattern used is the synchronous one for all interactions (mediator - bpel, bpel-web service).
When I test this simple SCA, the request is regularly validate so mediator e bpel do their activities with success ... but i got an error on mediator return type as shown in the image...
http://img196.imageshack.us/i/catturaif.jpg/
The error is too generic to be correctly managed.
I'm waiting to hear from you.

Oracle database parallel query
Hello,
I am trying to execute a pararallel query in oracle oracle database 10g but it is not working. please see the below server settings and explain plan.

SELECT STATEMENT ALL_ROWS Cost: 89,113 Bytes: 144 Cardinality: 1
1 TABLE ACCESS FULL TABLE PRISM.PRT_SALES_DISC_MATRIX Cost: 89,113 Bytes: 144 Cardinality: 1Apart from the important syntactical error which sb has highlighted, the parallel hint does not mandate that the statement is run in parallel.

Oracle EAM Work Request Sequential Approval process
Can anyone confirm Oracle has standard functionality of sequentinal apprvoal process for eAM Work request.
Our current Oracle eAM project has requirement of multiple approver for Work request. Multiple approver means sequential approval process. After first approver approves it should go to second approval and continues.
I know Oracle eAM Work order has sequential approval process, but i want to know the same funcionality available for Oracle eAM work request as well. If Oracle has the functionality please provide the details. If Oracle doesnt have the functionality please let me know if this can be achived using Customization.
We are using Oracle R12 version.
Edited by: user13591749 on May 20, 2013 11:08 AMHello,
Work Requests do NOT use AME. Only 1-level approval is possible with Standard Functionality; NOT multi-level
Work Request Approval needs :
1. Oracle Workflow
2. Department Approver functionality
Here are the steps:-
1. Go to EAM parameters window. Under Work Request region uncheck the Auto Approve flag.
2. Define Primary Department Approver (Setup > Department Approver)
hope it helps...
=================================================================
Also,
• There is an AME transaction type and a workflow for EAM WO Completion.
• Not dependent on EAM Parameter : Enable workflow for work orders.

Oracle spawning parallel 128 processes when queried from Cognos
Hi,
I am querying a parallel enabled table with DOP set to default. Oracle 11.2 is installed on a 16 core machine while Cognos sits on a 4 core linux system. When querying the same table fromToad, I observe 32 parallel processes. Any thoughts as to why the difference and why that many number of processes get spawned from Cognos?
ThanksWhat and what are you runnng and how are they configured?
I ask this because what you are seeing could be as a reulst of so many factors.
An example is that if you are using Planning Contributor, then you are likely to have more processes reading and writing to the database at the same time. The number of processes will then depend on serveral issues. For instance the number of CPUs on the box, the number of Contributor Applications, the number of Publish Containers and the interval the jobs are configured to run. Using a scenario where you have a single monitorin job on a 2 cpu box for 10 Contributor Applications. Ths may spawn up to 20 processes. To make things worse, if you happen to have some of the previous 20 processes not completing before the next job interval, then it adds more to the number you see. -

Hi Experts,
While i'm running a parallel query through a procedure...
its throwing the below error.....
when others Error ORA-12801: error signaled in parallel query server P006
ORA-01114: IO error writing block to file (block # )
ORA-01114: IO error writing block to file 1025 (block # 2790848)
ORA-27063: number of byte with query
Can you people suggest me?
Thanks in advance!!!You probably meant 11.2.0.3 instead of 11.2.3.0?
Did you (or your DBA) check the alert log?
What happens if you remove your WHEN OTHERS and rerun the code?
Do you get any additional information? -
This is a question about availability of
Oracle Parallel Server on linux. I tried to
ask OTN but their answer was really strange :
they adviced me to go to discussion board!
I suppose that Parallel was not realized
for linux oficially yet but this is a possibility
to use server compiled for another OS as
it was with Informix on SCO. Please, could you clarify this question for me?This is a lie on behalf of Oracle.
What they mean to say is they supply some of the underlying sub-systems such as Parallel server manager.
If you mean parallel server and not Oracle Failsafe, you need an OSD layer. This is a certified layer tested by Oracle for parallel operation. The guidelines for the exact kit will will run on are strick and it comes from your hardware suppliers. Compaq's is around 4k for example.
Hope this helps,

Hi all,
Can any one suggest me how to invoke a java class in faultpolicies for mediator. I am using a WebService--> mediator(Parallel)--> fileAdapter. My fault policies file looks like this
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
<faultPolicies xmlns="http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/faultpolicy">
<faultPolicy version="2.0.1" id="StandardFaults" xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns="http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/faultpolicy" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">

<faultName xmlns:medns="http://schemas.oracle.com/mediator/faults"

</condition>
</faultName>

My fault policies are triggered when a error is generated , but the problem is it's not invoking my custom java class , the process is going into Human intervention automatically. Is there any different procedure for mediator fault handling? please help<javaAction className="EmailGeneration.MailNotification" defaultAction="ora-replay-scope" propertySet="properties">Make sure the class name is correct (should include package name as well) and class is loaded in the CLASSPATH.
