I need your help in understanding what is meant my out of box monitoring reports in oracle and as what parameters are to be considered with respect to these reports or any existing reports.

Restrict administrator from viewing "out of the box" reports

I want to create an administrator who will be restricted to viewing a single report (a new dashboard report). Is there anyway to "turn off" the administrators ability to see all of the out-of-the-box reports that are created / owned by sysman? For example, logging into GC as the administrator and browsing to : *[http://{oms:port}/em/console/reports/admin|http://oms:port/em/console/reports/admin]* displays all of the out-of-the-box report definitions. I only want this administrator to see the one custom report, (a dashboard) that I've created for him.
Using GC 10.2.0.4.

Cannot Generate BRM Out of the box reports

Hi experts,
i'm having trouble in generating the out of the box BRM Reports in BI Publisher Server UI. whenever i generated it the following error occurs:
ORA-20006: Not a valid date Format
ORA-06512: at "PIN.BIPEXT", line 198
ORA-06512: at "PIN.BIPEXT", line 226
ORA-06512: at "PIN.PAYMENTSUMMARY", line 451
do you have any idea on what is the cause of this error?
note that those reports are part of the package when BRM is Integrated with BI Publisher.

2 data sources (oracle db) for the same report

I was wondering if I can have 2 sources (could be same or different instances). Example, I want to get information from one instance in the report trigger, and output of that i pass to the report (inside the query in the where clause).Is this possible with Oracle reports?

I need some information (in before report trigger) - from one oracle instance - and then pass this information as a parameter to the report - whose output will come from another oracle instance.
I haven't given it a try yet what you had recommended but will do so.

FIM Out of the box Reporting - web interface

My customer is using standard FIM 2010 R2 reporting. They want to give access to reports to some users without installing SCSM console. Is there any way to give web access (web interface) to these reports?

You could use SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). It should already be up and running in their environment as part of the FIM 2010 R2 reporting installation. Security in SSRS can be based on AD group membership.
You might have to look into what the actual SSRS data sources are using for credentials. If they are impersonating the user executing the report, then the user may not have access to the data.

Is it possible to increase/remove the 20,000 row limit on the AV reports?

When running a report for Logins and Logoffs for the last month, the report returns 20,000 records and informs me that there are more than 20,000. Does anyone know of a way to either remove the limit or to increase it?

Hi Iain:
At this time, the out-of-the-box reports in Audit Vault are limited to 20,000 rows in code. There is no configurable way to change this limit.
However, the Admin Guide does document the schema extensively, so it should be possible to point an external reporting tool, such as Oracle BI Publisher, to the schema, and query the data. Such reports will not be limited to 20,000 rows.

Basic out-of-box reporting in portal

Can anyone point me to what basic reporting is available out-of-box with Portal
8.1? Is there basic HTML report that can be generated in the browser showing users
logged on, portlets visited etc?

Line crossing at the corner of the boxes in XML Publisher Report (PDF)

We are facing some issue in XML Publisher report using RTF template and PDF output. In PDF output it looks like 2 lines are crossing each other at the corner of the boxes (which are made of the Table in RTF). Did you guys face this issue earlier? Is there any resolution?

Hi,
I would propose reviewing the eText documentation. I noticed that for RTF templates it's difficult explicitly set the length though within an eText template, you can specify the intended length.
The Oracle post is, in my opinion, convoluted, though it's a point in the right direction

Do you want to print the report NOT from the application? If so, you can use lp or print commands to do this (Output files can be found under $APPLCSF/$APPLOUT directory).

Since the last upgrade, FF no longer runs on my laptop! I get the crash report box but it never restarts upon pressing that option. I can't try the safe mode or the other self-help options because no FF browser window opens.

FF worked fine before I accepted the latest update just a few days ago. My friend who lives far away said that she also has problems since the upgrade. When I click on the thumbnail to open FF no window opens, all I see is the crash report. Without the window I can't try the self-helps or give a crash ID (from what I understand from reading the options). None of the options in the crash report restore the browser. When I click on one, the box just pops right back up.
Other than general slowness of my system and some possible hacking which got someone into my paypal account this week, I've had no other computer issues. (I've changed my email address with PP & changed my email passwords in case someone is accessing my machine through my email...I'm not very computer literate...I don't believe this can happen, yet no other options were presented).
Because my friend also experienced this crash issue I think this is totally related to the upgrade & what ever it did to my computer such that FF no longer loads.
Please give me steps to fix this issue without FF running--all the self-help techniques seem to assume that I can run FF, get a browser window, utilize the links therein. I can't get a window open at all!
