    Cisco broadens WLAN offerings
    By John Cox
    Network World Fusion, 11/12/03
    Cisco Wednesday will announce a series of products and product
    improvements to bolster its wireless LAN offerings, including
    additional software that shifts WLAN features into other parts
    of the corporate net.
    The announcement will include, according to a source familiar
    with Cisco's plans:
    * Cisco's first 54M bit/sec 802.11g radios for its access
    points.
    * A new client adapter card that can work with 802.11a, 11b, or
    11g access points.
    * A new version of its IOS network operating system, adapted for
    the model 1100 and 1200 access points.
    * A new software version for the CiscoWorks Wireless LAN
    Solutions Engine, which is a server for administering access
    points.
    Last June, Cisco unveiled a WLAN strategy called Structured
    Wireless-Aware Network (SWAN). The idea behind SWAN is to
    distribute WLAN functions to various devices in the net, as
    appropriate. Cisco officials say some functions are best done on
    access points, and the adaptation of IOS for these devices makes
    them highly programmable, and visible to other Cisco network
    resources, such as network management and network security
    products.
    Other functions have been shifted to the Wireless LAN Solutions
    Engine (WLSE or "willsee" to insiders). Still others will be
    shifted gradually to Cisco's wireline switches and routers, as
    IOS is updated. The first release of "wireless aware" IOS will
    be sometime in 2004, Cisco said.

  • Open Client Adapter to 9i-Lite OCA-30017 error

    Is there a suggestion or solution to the following:
    Using Forms 6.0.8.11.3, Oracle Client Adapter for ODBC 6.05.29.0 , 9i-Lite 5.0.1, and the 4.0 Oracle Lite Driver OLOD2040.dll the following results:
    ERROR:OCA-30017: error logging on to non-Oracle database[POL-5246] User does not
    exist.
    I have created a system DSN named 'test' using the Oracle Lite Driver 4.00.00.00 OLOD2040.DLL. I can use the ODBC test program (ODBCTST.exe) to query the db. (Plz note - a user level DSN cannot connect using the ODBCTST tool). Great, but the form returns the above error. I can query all 9i-Lite dbs locally with the ODBCTST program, but the Client Adapater complains about the POL-5246 when trying to connect via the FORM. I'm using username password ODBC:test and I get the above error. The user name and password exist and has been confirmed by connecting via the msql through the the @polite:dsn I can also use msql to query any and all lite local dbs using the system/manager@polite:userdsn4database - Any suggestions - I think the OCA mesg is bogus and cannot isolate the real problem.

    Hi again.
    The documentation, "OCA for ODBC Readme"m said that it only supported to Access 2.0. According to the file, I should have OCA version 1.0.14.3.4 currently installed. Are new OCA versions only available with the new software releases or can I download them to use with older Developer releases? If so, where do I find them.
    Thanks for your help.

  • What should be configured as channel in Oracle CEP HTTP adapter for remote publishing?

    Hi,
    Below is the adapter configuration that I have for Oracle CEP HTTP adapter for remote publishing. What exactly should be configured in <channel> here? In the oracle documentation example, it only says /channel2 as an example.
    Below is the HTTP adapter configuration file that I have created.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <wlevs:config xmlns:wlevs="http://www.bea.com/ns/wlevs/config/application">
        <http-pub-sub-adapter>
            <name>HttpPostAdapter</name>
            <server-url>http://localhost:8080/RESTfulWS/rest/UserInfoService/post/jsonstream</server-url>
            <channel>/RESTfulWS</channel>
            <event-type>com.wipro.event.ResultEvent1</event-type>
        </http-pub-sub-adapter>
    </wlevs:config>
    '/RESTfulWS' in my above configuration is the context-root of my rest service.But this is not working so I would like someone to help me understand this configuration.
    Many thanks.
    Regards
    Sowmya

    Hi, Sowmya,
    From your configuration
    Is the http://localhost:8080/RESTfulWS/rest/UserInfoService/post/jsonstream httppubsub server? I don't think the oep http pub adapter can publish event to rest service.
    For http pub adapter, you can take a look at fx sample, it publishes events to a embedded http pub/sub server of oep.
    Thanks,
    Gala

  • Installable for Oracle Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for TCP (CICS)

    Hi,
    Could anyone please help me to find the installable for "Oracle Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for TCP (CICS)", does this comes with the Tuxedo 10g installable or is it a separate plug-in that I need to download and install.
    Regards,
    Priyanka

    Hi Priyanka,
    The Tuxedo Mainframe Adapters are separably licensed products and not included in the Tuxedo kits. I'm not certain the mainframe adapters are yet available for 10gR3 (I'm checking on this), and for whatever reason the latest version I can find for download is the 9.1 version that can be downloaded from eDelivery.

  • Oracle 10g client with 11g ODBC.

    We have the Oracle 10g client on users PCs to use the 10g ODBC to connect to a 10g (10.2.0.4.0) database. Now we are upgrading to an Oracle 11g database, 11.2.0.3.0. Is it possible to install the 11g ODBC drivers onto the users PCs without installing the full Oracle 11g client?

    Unless you want to go down the Instant Client path, no.
    However, there is probably no need to do anything to the clients. Any version of the 10g client should have no difficulty communicating with an 11.2 database. There is likely no need to upgrade the existing clients when the database is upgraded. The only exception would be if your application is trying to use some 11.2 feature that requires changes on the client to support-- those are pretty rare in this instance.
    You may want to roll out 11.2 clients on new machines as they come online but that's likely about all that you need to do.

  • Archiving: experience with Oracle's Archive Adapter for SAP

    All,
    Does anyone have experience to share about Oracle's "Content Database Archive Adapter for SAP Applications"?
    Thanks
    Guenther

    Sasi,
    There is a new MySAP adapter with 10.13.1 and above to support ECC 6.0. Please see the following section in the 10.1.3.1 adapter release notes:
    12.4.1 MySAP ERP Versions and APIs
    The following MySAP ERP platforms are supported by OracleAS Adapter for MySAP
    ERP:
    ■ SAP R/3 Enterprise 47x100
    ■ SAP R/3 Enterprise 47x200
    ■ MySAP ERP Central Component (ECC) 5.0, deployed on SAP NetWeaver 2004
    ■ MySAP ERP Central Component (ECC) 6.0, deployed on SAP NetWeaver 2004s
    ■ SAP Java Connector (SAP JCo) Version 2.18.
    For the current release status of the SAP Java Connector, refer to SAP Note #549268
    in the SAP Service Marketplace.
    Release versions may vary by product component. In addition, SAP functions may
    vary by SAP product version and support package.
    Note: The OracleAS Adapter for MySAP ERP supports only the versions listed above.
    It is not recommended to use the OracleAS Adapter for MySAP ERP with older
    versions of SAP R/3. If you plan to use the adapter with older versions of SAP R/3 for
    example SAP R/3 4.6C, prior approval from iWay Software Product Management is
    required.

  • Oracle instant client 11g doesn`t connect to database 10g

    hi,
    i installed a oracle instant client 11g for windows xp on my pc, because i need a odbc connection.
    I don`nt know this product. I don`t find a tns.ora file, so how can i give them the right parameter for my oracle database and how can i make a odbc connection.
    Is it already the right client?

    Thanks
    NicoleODBC sits on top of the Oracle client. (or any other native client of a given db product).
    I don't think the ODBC drivers come with the instant client, though if you can locate a 3d party odbc driver for Oracle, that should work with the instant client.
    Oracle ODBC drivers do come with the full client, but even there don't install by default - at least not up through 10g. In that case you have to select 'custom installation' (which can be done after a basic run-time installation) and select 'windows components'.

    No installer, nothing ...That's the beauty of Instant Client, just unzip or move a few files, set PATH if needed, and you have client libraries all "installed" and ready.

    You can give advice ?Generally, required lib files are (n Windows) oci.dll, oraociicusN.dll or oraocieiN.dll (N= e.g. 11). Then for Sql*plus add orasqlplusicN.dll and the .exe from ic-sqlplus package.
