Oracle OSB 11G. Unable to find Oracle Service Bus Configuration Page.
Hi All,
Sorry for the apparent silly question but I am studying and learning the product.
I have the OSB 11G installed and running with a proxy service working and routing requests. The Oracle ESB documentation http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E21764_01/doc.1111/e15866/ui_ref.htm#i1327746 at chapter 4.4.2 New Oracle Service Bus Configuration Project Wizard
Use this wizard to create an Oracle Service Bus configuration project. For configuration options, see Section 4.4.3, "Oracle Service Bus Configuration Page."
4.4.3 Oracle Service Bus Configuration Page.
I don't see the configuration page in anywhere in the left pane of the console. Am I missing something? The project creation works fine but I just don't see the configuration Wizard.
Thanks.
Regards
Salvatore Ilardo
The link which you are referring is for user interface objects in the Oracle Service Bus plug-ins and OSB plug-ins are used with OEPE (Oracle Enterprise Pack for Ecplise) for OSB development. OEPE is the only supported IDE for OSB development as of now.
Remember, at a time, one and only one Oracle Service Bus Configuration project can be deployed in a OSB domain which may contain desired number of Oracle Service Bus Projects and that's why there is no provision of creating Oracle Service Bus Configuration Project in sbconsole GUI. In IDE, you may create many Oracle Service Bus Configuration Project and that's why it has a Oracle Service Bus Configuration Project Wizard.

- I have tried some user profiles on my windows xp system, always the same thing
(test with different user application data, check for a config error)
After a recovery, he put all songs on the ipod touch, they are complete..
Since today the recovery doesn’t run and my ipod touch is in maintenance mode.

How to configure my oracle jdeveloper 11g preview 4 with oracle 8i database
hi every one
my requrirement is to configure my oracle jdeveloper 11g preview 4 with oracle 8i database with (thin driver)
thanks in advancePrapan,
JDev 11g TP4 comes with 11g JDBC drivers, which do not support connecting to any database v 9.0.1 or earlier.
So, back to you... depends upon what you want to do. If you want to write your own code to connect to a database using 11g, get ahold of some JDBC drivers that support 8i and have away. If you're talking about getting the database development stuff (e.g. the embedded SQLDeveloper) to work, you're probably out of luck.
So, please define "configure my oracle jdeveloper 11g preview 4 with oracle 8i database"

Oracle DB 11g Express Edition Find directory home path in Windows 7
Hello,
I am working through a PL/SQL Programming book and I am on PROGRAM UNIT DEPENDENCIES. As I work through the examples it asks me to use the Dependency Tree Utility by running this script in SQL*Plus: @<path to Oracle Home directory>\rdbms\utldtree
However, no matter where I look on my computer (Win7 Home) I cannot figure out the directory path. I looked elsewhere and it was suggested that Windows stores the directory in the registry. I went to regedit and followed Hkey_Local_Machine\Software\Oracle....and found 'c:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\l11.2.0\server'
I tried that as the directory path, but no luck. Plus I cannot even find any file folders for the DB that contains 'rdbms'.
So my question is, is there a directory HOME or BASE path in windows 7 for Oracle database 11g Express Edition and or does the 11g Express Edition have the utldtree.sql file somewhere?
Thanks in advance for any help,
WarrenI have a lot of utl*.sql files, including the one you named, in C:\oracle\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\rdbms\admin.
You should also be able to reach the location when running in sqlplus, via "?" shortcut, e.g.
SQL> @?/rdbms/admin/utldtree
There's also a way to print top dir of Oracle Home in sqlplus - e.g. path inside square brackets below:
SQL> @.[%oracle_home%].

Unable to find Oracle quote Lines Data
Hi,
I have to find the query or any other data source which is getting the data for the Print quote report. I am unable to find out from where the data in report is being displayed.
The Flow is like...
Search for any quote.
Click on the quote link
One Drop poplist will be displayed. Select Print Quote
And click on the submit button. The PDF report generated,
Now I have to find out from where this data is coming. Can anyone help me on this.
Thanks
AnoopAnoop,
This is a JTT page and there is no VO. If you wanna see how this report is built check out qotSCocPrint.jsp. Here data source are quoting classes. If u need any quoting related data y do u worry about source, y don't u directly hit quoting tables like aso_quote_headers_all and aso_quote_lines_all.

Thanks in advanceHi;
I belive you can follow this thread if you insist to make 11g installation on ubuntu. But as installation documents refer Ubuntu is not a certified platform yet for 11gr2,you can find details on below docs. (I suggest use OEL platform which is free and certified wiht Oracle 11gR2 db)

Oracle Service Bus configuration project deployment problem
I cannot deploy the "OSB30 Book Conf" configuration project to the server. "The specified domain path is not a valid Oracle Service Bus domain" error appears. Where is the domain path specified? Where can I get know which paths are valid Oracle Service Bus domains?
I am using OSB 10.3.1, WebLogic server 10.3, Oracle Workshop for WebLogic 10.3 running on RHEL4.
Thank you.Your first message about "THE SPECIFIED DOMAIN PATH IS NOT A VALID ORACLE SERVICE BUS DOMAIN" is the most annoyingly stupid message and wasted days of my time when I was trying to script the creation of an OSB domain.
The way Workshop decides that a domain is a valid OSB domain or not is by checking the config.xml for the prescense of "lib/kernel.ear" - if that's not EXACTLY like that, that it decides its not a valid domain.
If you look in the config.xml, you must have an entry like
<app-deployment>
<name>XBus Kernel</name>
<target>AdminServer</target>
<module-type>ear</module-type>
<source-path>C:\osb1031\osb_10.3/lib/kernelEar</source-path>
and not something like this
<app-deployment>
<name>XBus Kernel</name>
<target>AdminServer</target>
<module-type>ear</module-type>
<source-path>c:\domains\user_projects\applications\MyESB11g/kernelEar</source-path>
It's all to do with the path you choose for the applications when creating the domain and there's a bug raised for it. Sounds like you're working anyway.

Server Hardware for Oracle Database 11g Release 2 with Oracle Spatial
Hi ,
We're to set up an Oracle Database 11g Release 2 Enterprise with Oracle Spatial.
Can you provide me the possible Server Hardware CPU / Memory specs , number of CPUs,type of OS and teh Model, for Spatial which a million users hits the database via a webservice?
The vendor suggested us SDD instead of HDD, any performance hike on this?
Budget seems to okay but I think Exadata will be too dear.
Your insights is much appreciated.Anything relating to setting up a server with spatial is greatly appreciated.
P/S: Been a programmer and don't knwo much about server hardware specs. It depends.
Seriously - before anyone can offer anything but generalities here you need to really define exactly what you expect the database to deliver.
In general however, I will throw out these questions and ideas...
For instance - you say a million users "hit" the database (via a web service). Is that WFS, WMS, KML or ???
Over - how long? A year? A month? A minute? A million hits over a year spread out evenly is only about 2 per minute.
And what is a hit? A single random record? Or about 10,000 records in the same spatial area... or? And for each record - are you returning simple point data - or hugely complex polygons with thousands of vertexes each?
How does this software work? Is it custom - or is it well known? Does it really query the database for every map (I assume it is a map service) feature - or does it read an area once and cache it in the middle tier? Or does it do something really smart and use cached tiles for static data - overlayed with vectors for dynamic data?
And although you say Oracle Spatial - are you really using Spatial - or just Locator functions (less processing in general)? And if spatial - are you doing raster in the db - or 3D analysis - or other special functionality?
SSD vs. HDD. - If you can buy a server with more RAM than the data set size (pretty easy these days) - and you do mostly reads (almost always the case for a map app) - buy a small cheap array of RAID'd HDD's - internal to the server is fine. Once the data is read into RAM - the HDD's do basically nothing.
Server CPU and memory. Amount - see above. CPU Speed (use performance benchmarks - not GHz numbers) AND memory speed (often overlooked) - buy as fast as possible. Why? You pay for licenses by the core (2 cores per license for x64). And HW is MUCH MUCH MUCH cheaper than Oracle licenses. Plan to upgrade HW every year if necessary to avoid buying more licenses (sounds crazy - but it is much cheaper).
This may seem like a lot - but these questions are just the tip of the iceberg. I have been in charge of spec'ing, building, and programming spatial systems now for about 20 years, so I have a pretty good idea of how to do enterprise scale computing on a Ramon-noodle budget.
Smart clean software is your friend - don't ask the HW to do anything unless absolutely necessary (cache results and reuse as much as possible), and you can get crazy performance from minimal hardware.

Install Oracle Database 11g release 2 on Oracle Linux 6.0?
I'm running Oracle Linux Server 6.0, and am trying to install Oracle Database 11g release 2 on it. The installation is failing because it says I need "glibc-2.3.4-2.41", but I think the OS came with glibc 2.12.
How do I upgrade glibc on this machine to glibc-2.3.4-2.41?898649 wrote:
Thanks. What's UEK?UEK = Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel. It is installed by default with Oracle Linux 5 Update 7. Also, if you install the oracle-validated RPM (as part of the initial install or via yum afterwards), all the pre-requisites for installing database will be taken care of for you.
