Oracle Payables Witholding Tax Accounting Entries
Can someone please confirm the accounting entries in regards to withholding tax in Oracle Payables.
Are these correct?
At the time of payment creation:
DEBIT: ACCOUNTS PAYABLES $100
CREDIT: CASH $80
CREDIT: WITH-HOLDING TAX PAYABLE $20
When witholding tax invoice is created:
DEBIT: WITH-HOLDING TAX PAYABLE $20
CREDIT: ACCOUNTS PAYABLE $20
When witholding tax invoice is paid:
DEBIT: ACCOUNTS PAYABLE $20
CREDIT: CASH $20
Is WITH-HOLDING TAX PAYABLE a liability account through all entries or is there an expense account in the picture as well.
Thanks
Asim
Hello Asim.
Yes, the accounting entries are correct and there are no expense accounts involved in this process.

Oracle E-Business Tax Accounting
What is the accounting created when tax is applies to AP transactions, AR transactions, and GL lines?
What is the role of these accounts that you specify when defining a tax:
Tax Expense.
Tax Recoverable/Liability.
Interim Tax
Can someone give examples of accounting entries...
Thanks in advance.Yes it is -- R12.1.1 : Oracle E-Business Suite Installation and Upgrade Notes Release 12 (12.1.1) for Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit) (Doc ID 761568.1).

Tax Accounting in payable invoices
Hi
In payables, a tax accounting on an AP invoice is defaulted from the tax code setup.
Unlike charge account, variance, etc the TAX account cannot be modified using the supplier account generator. The requirement is to have tax accounts hitting the same Balancing segment as the charge line.
Ex. An invoice has
Charge 01.1000.000 60
Charge 02.1000.000 40
Tax 01.1200.000 10
Liability 01.2000.000 70
Liability 02.2000.000 40
The requirement is
Charge 01.1000.000 60
Charge 02.1000.000 40
Tax 01.1200.000 6 (split into the BU segments)
Tax 02.1200.000 4
Liability 01.2000.000 66
Liability 02.2000.000 44
Can anyone suggest a workaround for the same. Multiple tax codes would not be a good option here as the balancing segments are many.
Can Subledger accounting allow to change the tax accounting entry as per the requirement. If so kindly provide some inputs
Thanks
ArchanaIt can be achieved in SLA.
Event as Invoice
Journal Line : TAx
ADR : Set a condition on basis on BSV in liability account
Hope it works. -

Interfacing Accounting entries to Oracle Financials
Dear Experts,
We are implementing an IS-Retail project for a client. The strange part of the implementation is that the client will still be using Oracle Financials as the Finance module and SAP FICO module will be just a facilitator.
Keeping this in mind we need to do the following:
1) Send all accounting entries created in SAP related to Vendor invoices/credit memos to Oracle Financials.
2) Send all accounting entries created in SAP related to Customer Billing / debit notes/credit notes to Oracle Financials.
3) Send all accounting entries created in SAP related to Stock Movement to Oracle Financials.
For the purpose we have identified following IDocs:
ACLPAY01 [Posting in Accounting: Incoming Invoice] for 1) above
This is essentially an inbound IDoc but can be utilised as an outbound too by doing some sort of customizing. But we do not know exactly how as SAP provides 3 sets of function modules for the purpose.
IDOC_OUTPUT_ACLPAY_CHECK
IDOC_OUTPUT_ACLPAY_POST
IDOC_OUTPUT_ACLPAY_PROJECT
We dont know exactly how to configure so that the outbound ACLPAY01 can be generated whenever a vendor invoice is created.
ACPJOU01 [Posting in Accounting from Materials Management] for 3) above.
This is also an inbound IDoc but can be utilised as an outbound too by doing some sort of customizing. As in case of ACLPAY01, SAP also provides 3 sets of function modules.
IDOC_OUTPUT_ACPJMM_CHECK
IDOC_OUTPUT_ACPJMM_POST
IDOC_OUTPUT_ACPJMM_PROJECT
We dont know exactly how to configure so that the outbound ACPJOU01 can be generated whenever there is a stock movement.
This has been hinted in this link http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/en/6c/089d0656c511d18ef20000e8366fc2/content.htm
We could not identify any outbound IDoc for the purpose of 2) above.
Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

Payables Accounting Entries Report
Hi all, when we run this report (Payables Accounting Entries Report), we see asterisks (*) for the following rows :
Total for Journal Category: Purchase Invoices *************** ***************
Total for Set of Books: Select Medical Corporation *************** ***************.
Is there anyway to show the actual figures and not the asterisks. I tried increasing the width and making the horizontal elasticity variable, but its of no use. Please Help!!!
Thanks, Naveen.
Edited by: Oracle's Mascot on Feb 15, 2010 3:45 PMGuys, thanks for your responses. By increasing the width in the formula function, I am now able to show the total amounts for Journal Category and Set of books. But the decimal precision is 5. I am seeing 5 digits after the decimal. Do you know if there is a way to limit the precision to 2? I tried by setting MAXIMUM_PRECISION = 2 in the SRW.user_exit procedure, but it doesn't work. The problem is that all these fields in the report are of Character type and the functions returning values are also character type, hence I cannot use a format mask in the property palette for these fields.
Thanks, Naveen Gagadam. -

Use Tax Posting To Tax Payable and Expense Account
Hello Experts,
I am trying to post tax, code 03, to an expense account instead of the customer account at the time of billing. This is for use tax posting based on the costs of our materials and should be paid by company and not passed to the customer. Currently The percentages will base from the cost of material instead of sale price but this is posting to our tax payable account and to customer account as below:
Dr Customer Account 1.27
Cr Revenue -1.20
Cr Use Tax Payable -.07
The desired outcome would be as below:
Dr Customer Account 1.20
Cr Revenue -1.20
Cr Use Tax Payable -.07
Dr Use Tax Expense .07
Thanks in advance for help.Hi
Welcome to SDN Forum
As you want to post to separate Tax payable and expense account ,so maintain a separate account key and assign it to the tax condition type in Pricing procedure .In VKOA assign the G/L accounts to that account key.So you have to take your FI Team members help to get the G/L accounts.and its assignment to the tax code.

There is no error in create accounting program....
I could not close the period.
Your prompt help in this issue will be Appreciated.Hi,

Intended functionality as Create Accounting - Payments was ran with the ERRORS ONLY parameter set to YES.

Payables - Tax on PO Related invoice should go to TAX account
Hello all,
We have an issue in R12.1.3 where if we match a PO to an invoice, then calculate tax on the invoice, the tax goes to the PO liability account and not the tax account.
Has anyone else come across this issue, and how did you resolve it?
Thanksin standard setting the freight amount gets debit in the stock or inventoy account and gets credit in the fright accoutn at the time fo gr so it means the amount of frieght is gettting invenotrised
now at the time of IV IN MIRO SYSTEM CREDITS THE VENDOR ACCOUNT AND DEBITS THE GR/IR account
if u want to settele the planned delivery cost then select the laout variant for the planned delivery at item level
or in case if u want to make use of the unplanned delivery cost then u r doing the right step
but as u simulate the g/l accounts sytem will debit the inventory or stock account for it rather then frieght account (i belive so )
as the uplanned delivery cost may be getting inventorised that is added to the material price
and as u said u dont want to have tax calulated on the unplanned delivery cost then i suggest u to post it as subsequent debit and there do not make use of the claulate tax option or do the direct posting for the g/l account option -

Hi,
In ECC 6.00
Can I get the following result in FB60:
Gross: Rs.1000
Witholding Tax rate: 10%
T.Code: FB60
Expenditure Dr 1000
Vendor Cr 1000
Vendor Dr 100
TDS Payable Cr 100
At present I am getting the result as when I configured GL Account(gross up offsetting a/c) in OBWU
Expenditure A/c Dr 1000
Vendor A/c Cr 1000
G/L Account(gross up offsetting a/c)Dr 100
TDS Payable A/c Cr 100
Instead of getting debit to G/L Account (gross up offsetting a/c) which is wrong, I want debit to Vendor account. Can I get it?
Kindly advise.
Aravind BoddupalliH
The above requirement is required for the following reasons please.
1. If vendor submits bill for Rs.10,000 after certain period if I see the vendor account we can see only net value and not gross value. If we want to know the details we need to go to the details of the document.
2. Usually auditors insist on report of turnover of more than Rs.5 Lakh of vendor.
3. In case of Purchases are more than Rs.10Lakh service tax is to be deducted from vendor and paid to govt.
For the above reasons the above requirement is needed.
