Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise Manager Plugin Installation on oem grid control 12c facing error
Hi Friends,
I am planning to monitor Peoplesoft 8.52 HRMS application through oem 12c grid control. First I have installed 12c grid control successfully. Followed by I am installing the Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise Manager Plugin in 12c oem repository containing 11g database. I am facing configuration assistant error message as below
OUI-25031 some of configuration assistance failed.
Configuration assistant "PeopleSoft Environment Management Repository Plug-in" failed
The "/u01/oracle/cloudcontrol/middleware/oms/cfgtoollogs/configToolFailedCommands" script contains all commands that failed, were skipped or were cancelled. This file may be used to run these configuration assistants outside of OUI. Note that you may have to update this script with passwords (if any) before executing the same.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please assist me how shall I proceed further...

Hi,
I just came across the same problem.
In my case, I hit this issue while trying to reinstall Oracle EMCC 12g.
Since previous installation failed, I decided to start from the beginning again but I am now hitting this.
Before trying to reinstal, I dropped SYSMAN and a few other users created on the provided DB.
Did you solve this issue?
I believe I may have not "clean up" the database properly. Which would be the right way of wiping out the DB without actually rebuild it again?
Thanks
Angel

Can OEM Grid Control(12c) can provide the KPIs trend reports/analysis?
Hi experts:
Can EM cloud Control(12c) can provide the following trend reports/analysis for Report Servers(11gFMW report service)?
average response times
current job load
job load
failed job ratio
current jobs
etc.
If EM cloud control (12c) have not the indicators , Can we progmram to realize the above indicators and save the indicators to EM cloud control database?
If we can do programming to monitor the indicatiors, Is there any development documents to reference?

Hi
I just took over from someone the role of a DBA and I would like to clarify an issue I saw in Oracle (R) Enterprise Manager Console Version 9.2.0.1.0 Production.
My Default Temporary Tablespace, TEMP.DBF is currently sized at 6144 MB, Used size is 6140 MB, 99.93% with full auto extend on.
Automatically extend datafile when full (Auto extend) 20480 K Bytes.
Maximum Size - 8192 K Bytes. (------> Issue to clarify here<------)
I think most probably my ex-staff clicked wrongly and chose "K Bytes". It should be "M Bytes". However, I would like to know how is it possible that OEM console Version 9.2.0.1.0 allows the Maximum Size (8192 K Bytes) to be below 6144 MB? Is this allowed? If so and left uncheck, what will the repercussion be on the TEMP tablespace?
Has anyone ever come across this issue?
Regards
HahnhahnhahnSee an small example below
"Tablespace Created"
SQL> create temporary tablespace temp_test tempfile 'C:\ORACLE\APP\ORADATA\CKPT\temp_test01.tmp' size 100m autoextend on
next 10m maxsize 200m;
Tablespace created.
SQL>
"check below size, user bytes,maxsize"
TABLESPACE_NAME FILE_NAME BYTES/1024/1024 USER_BYTES/1024/1024 MAXBYTES/1024/1024 AUT
TEMP_TEST C:\ORACLE\APP\ORADATA\CKPT\TEMP_TEST01.TMP "100 99 200" YES
SQL>
"Now resized to more than maxsize so further maxsize supprssed"
SQL> alter database tempfile 'C:\ORACLE\APP\ORADATA\CKPT\TEMP_TEST01.TMP' resize 250m;
Database altered.
SQL> select tablespace_name,file_name,bytes/1024/1024,user_bytes/1024/1024,maxbytes/1024/1024,autoextensible from dba_temp_files where tablespace_name='TEMP_TEST';
TABLESPACE_NAME FILE_NAME BYTES/1024/1024 USER_BYTES/1024/1024 MAXBYTES/1024/1024 AUT
TEMP_TEST C:\ORACLE\APP\ORADATA\CKPT\TEMP_TEST01.TMP "250 249 200 YES"
SQL>
Now Bytes is more than Maxsize , its common behaviour of oracle database. When you resize tempfile, you have to again mention what is the maxsize. -
Download oracle 10G Enterprise Manager
I would like to download complete Oracle 10G Enterprise Manager. I downloaded one from oracle.com downloads and somehow it is not a complete. In that i do not have Console.
Where i can i download a complete 10G Enterprise Manager?Which "console" are you referring to?
To download complete OEM is a non-existing concept. OEM is many, many products. You have Grid Control console, DB Control console, AS Control console.... and ta-da the java client console (old style) - as mentioned above install it from 10g Client software cd. -
Oracle 10g Enterprise Manager Console bug?
I think I have come across a bug in the Oracle 10g Enterprise Manager Console. If I go into my database, then into the schema, select your schema from the list, then tables. Now once your in your tables, find one that you know of and know fairly well, right click it, and select the show dependencies. A small window will open with just that table and its tablespace and user. Select user, database name, profile, then default. If you right click on the "default" and select "show dependencies" a blank blinking window will open and stay stuck in an infinite loop until you kill the application window. I think that this is a cumbersome tablespace issue. Any thoughts?

Connecting to Oracle 10G Enterprise Manager console
Hi SDNers,
We've recently successfully upgraded Oracle from 9.2.0.7 to 10G (as part of a Solution Manager 4.0 upgrade) and I'm now interested in getting started with the new Oracle 10G Enterprise Manager (web-based console).
I'm at the point where I have EM up and running, but it is not connecting to our SAP database because it is trying to connect to port 1521, whilst the database uses 1527.
Does anyone know how to change the EM configuration so that it points to port 1527 and therefore connects to the SAP database?
Thanks in advance,

Management agents for 10g OEM Grid setup with HP's MC/Serviceguard
I am trying to set up the OEM Management agents in a MCserviceguard environment.
Each db is a serviceguard "package" with its own disks and a floating IP. The floating
IP is constant, but is dynamicly associated with whichever server currently hosts the package.
The goal is to have a Management agent (formerly Intelligent agent) per db.
There are notes and tech forums on how this is achieved in version 9.2 with
Intelligent Agent. However, not having any luck in finding this for 10g.
In 9.2, a forum note

wan00823Here is a nice document that should answer your question
http://www.oracle.com/technology/deploy/availability/pdf/MAA_WP_10gEMAgentActivePassive.pdf
I did not bother installing three agents. I just installed one at the package level. My hosts are monitored by HP Openview. OEM just monitors the databases.
I have not used the command line parameter in runInstaller to set the hostname. Here is how I did it - may not be supported though. I have learnt the hard way that with HPUX you are on your own for most part with OEM. I modify Disk1/install/oraparam.ini. Change SHOW_HOSTNAME=NEVER_SHOW to SHOW_HOSTNAME=ALWAYS_SHOW. Installer will prompt you for hostname and the network card to use. Choose the one to which the service guard ip is attached to and change the hostname.
Take a look at my previous post regarding installing management service I have the tweaking described in more detail. The tweak is same for both management agent and management service install.

OEM GRID CONTROL REMOTE INSTALLATION
Hello Good People,
I am trying to install OEM GRID CONTROL. I have a two RAC node (AIX 5L). I don't have acces to the server so my only option is remote installation.
I was able to ftp the file into a directory on the server but it will not unzip, (error: couldn't find 10g.zp or 10g.ZIP). I uploaded the file as binary.
Okay, I will like to install from my laptop, (xp) using the DVD that I have. I went through the documentation steps below:
1. Make sure that the remote access software is installed and running on the remote and local computers.
2. On the local computer, share the DVD drive.
3. On the remote computer, map a drive letter to the shared DVD drive. You would use the remote access software to do this on the remote computer.
Through the remote access software, run Oracle Universal Installer on the remote computer. You access Oracle Universal Installer from the shared DVD drive.
I am confuse with step 2 downward. How can I map a drive in UNIX or why should I? I am connected to the sever by Telnet.
Any direction or suggestion will be appreciated. Please note that all I want is to remotely install GRID CONTROL on my server from the DVD that I have.
Thanks for your help.......Based on further researched I discovered that the problem is due to the fact that I don't have an X-Window client install on my local machine. I just install a free trial version (30days). OUI finally started and went through the various checks. Although, the check passed I couldn't continue. It is saying missing some files. I will post the erros messages from the log in a while.

Linux OEM Grid Control 10.2.0.1.0 installation issue
Just a heads up to anyone installing Linux OEM Grid Control 10.2.0.1.0
If you are doing a full install, the "product specific prerequisite checks" page will show an error on the following packages even if you have them installed.
compat-libstdc++-296-2.96-132.7.2 (failed)
libstdc++devel-3.4.3-22.1 (failed)
openmotif-21-2.1.30-11 (failed)
Note that the installation works fine if you ignore the "missing" prerequisites. I believe the check itself is flawed. The openmotif check should be openmotif21-**** (extra hyphen incorrect in check - the old install was openmotif, now openmotif21), the libstdc++ needs a hypen added before the devel, and the compat-libstdc++ has yet another issue.
This is something the developers at oracle will have to fix.
SteveYes, you must download and install the 10.2.0.1 version and then patch it up to the 10.2.0.4 version.
http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe10gem/install/index.html
The above link shows you the install routine when using a new database, the steps for the existing database are only slightly different, all you need are the connection details for that existing database and you should be ok.
As for taking full backups of the Grid Control repository, I know many choose not to, space is always a big concern, but this depends on how critical your repository is to you. If you need it for the auditors, well then I'd suggest acquiring some more hard disks to up your space. -
Hi,
I am planning to install oem grid control 10.2.0.1 using existing database 10.2.0.3 for storing repository on HP_UX 64 bit PARISC.
Can it be possible, If not whats the reason and what issues it may arise.
If it possibel can anyone explain me the correct steps and is it compulsory to take full backup(we cant take ful backup bcoz space issues)Yes, you must download and install the 10.2.0.1 version and then patch it up to the 10.2.0.4 version.

Deploying oem grid control to e bussiness suites
We have installation of EBS R12, the AMP pack for EBS system is installed on the and already running. Now we want to use oem grid control to manage the EBS suites.
We have installed the eom 11G grid control and installed the application management pack patche (p8333939). How do we now deploy the enterprise manager grid control to EBS.
The documentation says agent needs to installed on the database tier and application tier and then discovered by the oem
Any idea on how to install the agent on the tier? The platform is solaris 10. I have deploying to the database tier and the following errors is received

Adding Database in OEM Grid Control 11g
Dear All,
I have install silently oem agent 11g in a solaris system. The installation was successful and agent is up and running.
But the thing is I can't add this client and its database in my OEM Grid Control interface. When I try to add the target it shows the bellow error
Information
You cannot add a host target from Enterprise Manager Grid Control.
To add a host target, install the Oracle Management Agent on the host computer you want to manage. When the Management Agent begins communicating with the Oracle Management Service, the Management Agent target and the Host target will appear in the list of targets.
My Question is how i can the target's agent can communicate with OMS agent? and How this target can be incorporated? You install management agents on the host and point the URl to the grid control OMS and it will automatically discover the host and databases
It is in the documentation.
