Oracle Personal 9i for XP download doesnt work

When I download any of the Oracle Personal 9i files to my drive and try to open them I get a "Cannot Open File, It doesnt Appear to be a valid archive" error. I tried opening the file on win2000 and winxp operating systems with WinZip installed and get the same error.

Are you getting the complete file when downloading? i.e. the filesize on your disk matches the size listed on OTN.

Oracle Personal Edition for Windows 98 onto a Windows ME machine

After downloading Oracle Personal Edition for Windows 98 onto a Windows ME machine I had to alter the win.ini file to get a valid stage. After instatlation when I go to start database I get a warning cannot open registry
\SID_LIST and then a "cannot attach to oracle 8i" error maessage. Anyone got any ideas- my oracle home is the C:\ drive

i have install windows 98 on my PC and i am having oracle 8.0
personal edition for windows 95 which is not working properly on
the windows 98 system .when i try to connect it with developer
2000 v2.1, the lsnrctl80 is not starting and other .exe file of
bin directory are not working properly execpt sqlplus.
at the time of installation of oracle ,it gave me a message that
some of file will not work properly on win98 try to get
upgradation files from oracle's web site.
is there anyone who could help me to overcome this problem.

Opinion of ORACLE personal/ Lite for a Palm subsystem

I am trying to decouple an existing Palm subsystem from an application. This would involve no change to the software on the Palm but would mean having to keep a small database on a PC. Can somebody confirm for me that
(i) Lite is strictly a piece of software for mobile devices only and is not a good solution for storing local data on PCs
(ii) Is ORACLE Personal a useful database or would people out there recommend different for PCs ?

Driver for SHARP MX2700N doesnt work

Hi Ia have problem with this driver. My Sharp doesnt work with this driver. Only way to print from my Mac is PCL Printer, byt only black & white ;-( Ive the same problem with all mac computers. Could you help me?

I am having the same problem as well and I'm on Mac OS X 10.8.3 on a 13" MBP Retina.
However, I can print to a SHARP MX-3100N printer just fine with the MacOSX10.8.x PS PPD 10.8x Driver for MX-3100N driver that I downloaded from the sharpusa.com website.
I downloaded and installed the MacOSX10.8.x PS PPD 10.8x Driver for MX-2700N driver and I am able to add the printer fine in System Preferences/Print & Scan. I added the printer as an IP printer using the HP Jetdirect - Socket like I did for the MX-3100N. Jobs appear to print to the printer just fine. However, the printout I get is:

I tried deleting and adding the printer using the IPP and LPD protocols with no change.
I was able to print black and white to the MX-2700N by downloading and installing the latest Gutenprint driver set and choosing the SHARP AR161 printer. However, I couldn't print color which is what I really need.
I thought perhaps that the PS3 expansion kit needed to be installed on the MX-2700N. However, the MX-3100N does not havfe the PS3 expansion kit installed and I can print B&W and color to it just fine.
It appears to be a SHARP driver issue. My printer service company has a ticket opened with SHARP. So, we'll see what happens.

There is no version of iTunes for Mac OS 9 that will work with the iPod mini. The last version of iTunes for Mac OS 9 is version 2.04, and that will only work with first and second generation full-size iPods, plus third-generation full-size iPods which are running version 2.0x of the firmware. All third-generation iPods and iPod shuffles can be used as an external hard disk in the Finder. Mac OS 9's iPod updater will only work with first and second generation full-size iPods.

I have found that my Mac Book Pro 15 inch late 2011 is slower than my PC Windows 7 for certain downloads, and working with iPhoto. Would adding RAM be helpful in speeding up this process. Currently I have the stock 4GB RAM, and storage 500GB HD drive.

Oracle 9i Database for Window download

The download button at top right does not work. Gives me junk.
I tried by going to Oracle Technology Network > Software > Oracle9i Database
then click on download for windows. That too do not work. Gives me junk. Oracle support guys please help me!!!

Can't sign into my Apple Youtube app (the app that Safari links to when you click on a Youtube video). Ive tried the 2 step verification method and tried signing in with my gmail and the password given for the app- doesnt work? What do I do?

Ive tried followinf a number of posts on using the 2 step verification method- none of it works. Please I need help with this, thanks.

Unzipping Oracle 11g R2 for Windows Download

I downloaded Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2.0.1.0) for Microsoft Windows (x64) from here:

Here are the instructions right off of the website:
1. All files are in the .zip format. There is an unzip utility here if you need one.
2. Download and unzip both files to the same directory...
When I extract the files both have the same basic structure:
c:\shared\win64_11gR2_1\
c:\shared\win64_11gR2_2\
The two folders contain a database folder with a stage folder inside:
c:\shared\win64_11gR2_1\database\stage\components - other folders DO exist in this stage folder
c:\shared\win64_11gR2_2\database\stage\components - other folders DO NOT exist in this stage folder
If I try to extract the files to the same directory (as indicated in step 2 above), the two stage\components folders cannot exist in the same folder at the same time...
c:\shared\win64_11gR2_extracted\database\stage
c:\shared\win64_11gR2_extracted\database\stage
I am not sure if the second file of the download is even needed. What am I missing?

win64_11gR2_database_2of2.zip
unzip tools at the download page are for other operation systems not for windows.
with e.g. 7zip I can easily un-extract both files in the same directory. (using right click extract here)
Both files are required. Because the second file has additional components which will be extracted into/under "database/stage/Components" dir...
