How to connect to SQL server 2000 with Oracle Form

I'm looking for the document of how to connect "SQL Server 2000" with Oracle Form 6i. Anyone knows that?

Is there a way to utilize the wizard for "Business Tier > ADF Business Components > Business Components from Tables" for SQL Server 2000, 2005 or 2008. I can successfully execute sql via java programmatically or import a table from SQL Server with "Business Tier > ADF Business Components > Entity Object" wizard, but the Business Components from Tables simply doesn't see any tables under any schema. Without the "Business Components from Tables", i don't get the referential constraints imported into the application and to code all those from scratch is just not as elegant. So far i have only utilized the sql server jdbc driver from Microsoft (versions, 1.1, 1.2 and 2.0). Is there an alternative client that i need to use to enable selecting tables from that "Business Components from Tables" wizard. Is this a limitation of SQL Server, the jdbc driver or the wizard itself? Did anybody else experience the same issues? I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.0.1 against SQL Server 2005 (currently)

I need to syncronize MS SQL Server 2000 with Oracle DB

I need to syncronize MS SQL Server 2000 with Oracle Database. I have created both DB connections succesfully.
1. Oracle DB: Oracle (JDBC)
2. SQL Server JDBC-ODBC (bridge)
When i create a partner link and select a DB Adapter i try to query SQL Server but it never brings the tables back to me.
I´ve tried to configure connection 2 (MSSQL) using thrid party but i really don´t know how.

Location??
Class Path?
Source Path??
Doc Path??

Here is my setup:
Driver Class: com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
Library: SQLSERVER
ClassPath: Depends on where your jar file is.
URL: jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://your ip address or DNS name goes here.
The above is how my database connection is defined.
When I create a partner link and it gets to the screen where it imports tables it takes a while for the "Querying Database Ojects..." to finish. When it does I have not tables. I then select <all schemas> AGAIN and this time I get the tables.
If you get succeed when you do a test on the connection then I assume the connection is setup right. Perhaps the problem is like mine above and you have to select <all schemas> a second time.

FRM-10142 the HTTP listner is not running on pls start the listner or check your runtime preferences.

By server i mean the computer where oc4j and backend database are running is one one of the client pc not a dedicated server..., these database and 10g dev suite are installed in one of the client machine,
all the clients are using same internet explorer as browser.
no message is being displyed on some of the client machine where these forms are not being uploaded on browser instead it displays as done in status bar without actually showing anything at all...
sir so far as jinitiator or JRE is concered i have seen on the client machine (where my forms are running on internet explorer) a pop up is displyed telling one activex control is required to run this program and click to install it..
after clicking it download jinitiator from server and after installing jinitiator my forms are loaded and start functioning...
what i feel is as i said this machine where oc4j and database is running is one of the client machine so some other clients do not have acess to this machine, so this might be the reason why those clints are not able to run the said forms on the internet explorer.... can it be so... kindly tell..

Oracle Options licensed 1:1 with Oracle Ent. Edition 11gR2 or by Instance?

Are Oracle Options licensed 1:1 with Oracle Ent. Edition 11gR2 (e.g. by CPU core multiplier) or by number of database instances on a host? In other words, if I need to purchase two Oracle Enterprise Edition licenses for a single host, do I need to purchase the same number of Oracle Option licenses (again, based on a CPU core multiplier). Or by the number of Oracle database instances installed on that host?
Anyone have a link to an official Oracle options licensing document that spells this out? Found one for 11g but it didn't get down into the weeds, saying if there was any difference between # of licenses required for an Option vs. a license for Oracle Enterprise Edition itself.

They are licensed 1:1 with EE, so 4 EE licenses means 4 Partitioning Option licenses, etc.

JDev 11g TP4 comes with 11g JDBC drivers, which do not support connecting to any database v 9.0.1 or earlier.
So, back to you... depends upon what you want to do. If you want to write your own code to connect to a database using 11g, get ahold of some JDBC drivers that support 8i and have away. If you're talking about getting the database development stuff (e.g. the embedded SQLDeveloper) to work, you're probably out of luck.
So, please define "configure my oracle jdeveloper 11g preview 4 with oracle 8i database"

I'm puzzled by the error msg referencing "Net8". Looks like an Oracle 8i construct but you said your db is 10.2. And since the box is Linux I wouldn't expect to find an old 8i installation lurking on it.
I searched MetaLink (should be everyone's first resource when trying to understand an error message) for "ora-28545" and got 13 hits.

SQL 2005 Replication with Oracle 11g

Hello Everyone,
Thanks in advance for looking at this. I am setting up replication from SQL Server 2005 with an Oracle 11g source. I've installed the Oracle 11g client and set up the service name on the SQL Server. I can successfully test the connection from
SQL to Oracle via the Oracle Net Manager as well as SQLPLUS.
When I try to add the Oracle Publisher to SQL, I can't get past the SQL Error 21627.
"Unable to connect to Oracle database server 'Name' using the Microsoft OLEDB provider MSDAORA."
Any ideas on what I am missing?

Thanks for the input Hilary. The oracleadmin.sql was ran on against the oracle instance long ago and since then we have been able to replicate. The previously successful replication was from a server that is no longer with us. I'm trying to get this
working again on a new server. Am I correct to assume that the script does not need to be ran again?
For the others, I'm working on the link server setup, but must be doing something wrong as I keep getting this:

Oracle 11g XE not working with oracle BI publisher 10g after enabling ACL

Hello,
I previously work with oracle 10gXE and Oracle BI publisher 10g and it work fine. now i install oracle 11g XE and try to configure it with oracle Bi Publlisher, it show this error
"ORA-29273: HTTP request failed ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1324 ORA-12570: TNS:packet reader failure" after runing the ACL package to neable network service.
on the database.
Please can any body tell be why this is not working. Tanx.

You'll need to add the apex engine owner to the ACL (Access Control List). Depending on your version of apex the user name varies. i.e. 4.0 is APEX_040000

How are people monitoring Oracle Glassfish with Oracle Grid Control?
I really just need to monitor the URL right now, is the only method to setup a system and monitor a generic web test with a beacon?

I would think this is indeed the only way to monitor the URL.
Perhaps you could try a solution in creating your own plug-in.

Create Upload and Download Directories on Middle Tier.
     The download path must be a location on the machine that hosts the Application Server - ie, the "middle tier". Directories for the upload (for example, /u01/tutor/upload) and download (for example, /u01/tutor/download) functions must be created on the middle tier.
     ***These directories, as well as any future subdirectories, must have full read/write/execute permissions. The Help Utility will automatically create subdirectories, so the permissions must be set correctly before the Help Utility is used.
     Verify that the HELP_UTIL_DOWNLOAD_DIR directory points to a directory that can be accessed from both the JServ tier and the Concurrent Manager tier.

- Verify Site is checked
- Verify Profiles with No Values is checked
- In the profile field, enter %help%
- Click Find button
Update system profile values with the correct paths.For example:

Use Help Builder to add the DESK_MANUAL_INDEX to the Help Tree
To learn all the features about customizing Help Navigation Trees, refer to the Oracle Applications System Administration User Guide.

When Help Builder first opens it may appear as a tiny screen in the upper left corner, if this happens, maximize the screen. You may also have to resize the screen as you may see the entire screen at first.
- Enter FND in the Node Application field.
- Press the Find button on the Find Trees Window.
This should bring the Trees tab region forward with a list of available trees.
- Scroll down and find FND | US | Applications Help Library in the Trees tab
- Select and double click on it.
This will open the Applications Help Library tree in the left frame
- Expand the Application Help Library by clicking on the + next to it.
- Click the New Node icon on the toolbar.
- Enter the following information in Properties window.
The next items assume the default Desk Manual Index terminology is used.
If your organization uses or plans to use different terms, adjust the entries in the various properties field accordingly.
     Prompt: Desk Manual Index
     Description: Desk Manual Index
     Data: @DESK_MANUAL_INDEX
Or enter the exact Desk Manual Index file name if it is different than the example.
- Click the View button to verify the link works.
You may have to experiment with using the @ sign. It may not be required.
     Click the Apply button.
The Desk Manual Index will now appear as a Node under the Application Help Library. If the name is NOT fully displayed, click on the - (minus) sign to expand it.
Link does not work
- Change the information in the Data field.
- Delete the @ and add .htm extension
Example: DESK_MANUAL_INDEX.htm
- Click the View button to verify the link works.
- Click on the Save icon.
