Oracle Portal - Associated Procedures With Custom Item

Dear Gurus,
I need to ask a question, when i have a custom Item built using Oracle Portal 10.1.4.2.0. and we have two procedures associated with this item. I need to display this item in some place with the first procedure and in another place with the second prcoedure.
What i want to explain is written as an example
Custom Item Type asscoiated with two different procedures (News Custom Item Type with two different procedures "brief procedure" and "detail procedure").
In one page i need to invoke the first procedure to display the item in Detail view and the second procedure to diplay the item in Brief view.
How can i invoke different procedures associated with this custom item type or how can i apply different procedures on custom item type to gain different views.
Please can help me or if you need a details i can presents more details.
hint:
i know something in Oracle Portal called ("Associated procedures"). and we use "related funbctions" attribute when we need to invoke a procedure to render some Custom Item Type.
But i cannot do that and this question is very important
Best Regards,

I've sorted this now - silly me, I'd left a <blank line> attribute in the display properties...

  • Listbox with customized items

    Hello,
I need to create a ListBox with custom items.
Each item should consist of two elements: from static text on the left and edit text item on the right.
I'm using ADM, is it possible to do?
    Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I mean you'd draw it with primitives. Honestly, I'm not sure how easy it is to do things like "When you click here, create a line edit control", etc. Other people have wanted to do the same thing you're talking about, I can remember them asking. I don't think they ever posted to say what they ended up doing (or if they had to give up even). One common idea that crops up in that is what you've suggested, ie. two columns of items and faking the scroll.
I think it is possible to create a custom widget and have child widgets though with the ADM. so you might be able to do a custom control and add line edit & labels as rows, maybe draw the line between them or something. I'm not 100% sure though. You'd probably need to keep a collection of pointers for each column and manage adding/deleting them yourself, plus resizing the custom widget to display them. Probably not a terrible amount of trouble to test that with a couple of rows as a test. If that worked, the scrolling would take care of itself at least.

    Error analysis
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_DYN_CALL_ILLEGAL_FORM', was
         not caught in
procedure "%_LDB_CALLBACK" "(FORM)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
The program "RSDBRUNT" is meant to execute an external PERFORM,
namely the routine "CB_DDF_GET_KNA1 " of the program "RFITEMAP ", but
        this routine does not exist.
This may be due to any of the following reasons:
        1. One of the programs "RSDBRUNT" or "RFITEMAP " is currently being developed.
The name "CB_DDF_GET_KNA1 " of the called routine may be incorrect, or
the routine "CB_DDF_GET_KNA1 " is not yet implemented in the program "RFITEMAP
        2. If the program SAPMSSY1 is involved in the runtime error, one of
the function modules called via RFC is not flagged as remote-capable.
(see Transaction SE37  Goto -> Administration -> RFC flag)
        3. There is an inconsistency in the system. The versions of the

Could anyone help me solving this problem.
This is a very critical situation.
    Thanks,
    Regards,

The solution for this problema was put the proxy server name and IP in the database hosts.
In Oracle portal it's essencial that database could resolve the name of all componentes, like portal mid-tier, web cache, sso, proxy server, etc.

  • Integrating Oracle Portal and Siebel with OAM

Sorry for the prob. straightforward question (just getting my feet wet with OAM)
We would like to configure Oracle Portal so that when users login into Portal and click on the link to launch Siebel they are not prompted with a password again.
We have the integration to OAM working for both Portal and Siebel seperatly, but we launch Siebel from within Portal we are then prompted for a password again.
Can someone please point me in the direction of how to configure OAM so that Siebel will reconize the portal cookie and not prompt for a password again.
    Thanks
    Karl

Please Install IIS WebGate at Siebel Server. Enable the WebGate by logging to Control Panel-> Administrative Console--> ISPAI Filters--> Add the WebGate Location.
Check the webgate status by below URL
    http://<FQDN>/access/oblix/apps/webgate/bin/webgate.dll?progid=1

  • Call Oracle procedure with custom data type within Java and Hibernate

I have a custom date TYPE in Oracle
    like
    CREATE TYPE DATEARRAY AS TABLE OF DATE;
and I have a Oracle function also
    like
CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION doesContain (list DATEARRAY, val VARCHAR2) RETURN NUMBER
    IS
    END doesContain;
    In my Java class,
I have a collection which contain a list of java.util.Date objects
When I call Oracle function "doesContain", how to pass my java collection to this Oracle function ...
    anyone can provide solutions?
    Please !!!
    Thanks,
    Pulikkottil

    Vu,
First of all you need to define your types as database types, for example:
create or replace type T_ID as table of number(5)Then you need to use the "oracle.sql.ARRAY" class. You can search this forum's archives for the term "ARRAY" in order to find more details and you can also find some samples via the JDBC Web page at the OTN Web site.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • Portal content translation with custom theme

    Dear Gents,
I am experiencing a very strange problem.
I have tried to change some english iview names to arabic using portal content translation. Since I wont understand properly what each word means, I used hindi names instead of arabic.
    So far so good.
For this test user, I am using a brand new portal desktop with copied framework page.
Everything works lovely when using SAP standard themes in my custom desktop But when I use my own theme, the theme does not load. I can see the roles and full navigation hierarchy, but without theme images or colors..
Has anyone faced the similar issue before? Please guide
    Regards,
    Ankur Agarwal

    Hi Ankur,
so when you log into the portal by using your theme than you will see your desktop but without any images and colors of your theme, isn't it?
Are you sure you have define a proper desktop rule?
So this desktop rule switch to your Portal Desktop?
The desktop is assignt to the portal framework page and the theme?
And the theme itself is stored successfully during the saving process?
So perhaps open your theme once more and save it once more.
But wait until you have really saved your theme. This takes time.....
During saving of the theme all the needed css files will be created.
    Best regards
    Frank

  • Case Associated View with Custom entity

    Hi,
I am working on MS CRM 2011 and I have a custom entity called "Card" which is related to the Case entity N:1 (referential).
This relationship created a left navigation link on the "Card" entity displaying the view "Case Associated View". However when I click on it, none of the related cases appear obviously because it is a referential and not parental relationship
and the relationship behavior cannot be changed to "Parental". This view works only on some built-in entities such as "Contact".
I am trying to find a supported solution to display all the associated cases on the above Custom entity.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Regards,
    Joe Mouawad.

Display related child records in Grid has got nothing to do with relationship type. Whether it is parental or refrential the records should be shown in the grid. While configuring grid on the form you get the option to select related record and select Active
case view. Please resetting those settings. Publist Customization and retest.

  • Associating files with ToDo Items

I really like the "url" field in ToDo items, especially since I do school online and I can link right to my login site. But what I really want is to link to files - for example, if my ToDo item is "Finish Assignment 3", if I could set up a shortcut that will open the Word file "Assignment3.doc." Is there any way to do this in iCal?
    Thanks!

    Erin, John,
you can even add an URL to the note field of both events and todos (tried it with todos just now:-)
You can enter in the note field of events or todos URLs of this form: "http://www.apple.com" or "mailto:[email protected]" or "file://localhost/Users/yourname/Desktop/file.name". The third URL should be added with an appropriate directory (John's script prepares such an URL). Enter all URLs without the quotes.
Then right-click (ctrl-click) on the text and you can choose "Open URL" from the pop-up window. The option "Create Link" creates a clickable link, but this property is lost when you leave the todo.
I posted this feature for events some days before, so it will work with 10.4.2 and iCal 2.0.x. I'm not positive with 10.3.x and iCal 1.5.x, though.

  • Stored procedure with custom type failed from jdbc

    DECLARE X Abp_Online_Dataselection.BULK_SCHEME_TAB; BEGIN Abp_Online_Dataselection.ABP_ONLINE_SCHEMESELECTION('BSWD','IN','NEW',X); FOR R IN X.FIRST .. X.LAST LOOP DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(X(R).SCHEME_NAME); DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(X(R).ISSUE); DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(X(R).CURRENCY); DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(X(R).PRICE); DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(X(R).GIFT); END LOOP; END;
Here Abp_Online_Dataselection.ABP_ONLINE_SCHEMESELECTION is the stored procedure which I can run
    in SQL client.
How can I access the result returned by this.
What I have tried is this
    Connection conn = myservice.getPooledTestConnection();                CallableStatement cstmt =  conn.prepareCall("{call Abp_Online_Dataselection.ABP_ONLINE_SCHEMESELECTION(?,?,?,?)}");         java.sql.Array recarray;         cstmt.setString(1, "BSWD");         cstmt.setString(2, "IN");         cstmt.setString(3, "NEW");                cstmt.registerOutParameter(4, java.sql.Types.OBJECT); // What is the right type?         if (cstmt.execute()) { }
This gives invalid column type exception.

Normally it requires driver specific code.
If it was me I would wrap it in another proc and use a cursor (or whatever it takes) to traverse the result so it returns a normal result set to java.

  • How to force Portal not to display item content for a custom item

    Hi,
I've read in several places questions about rendering an Item in a custom way, without letting portal
display the item content, if you read along I've discovered a SIMPLE WAY to force portal not to
    display the content item.
As per bugs and requests on metalink it seemed that in many versions of Oracle Portal (mine is 9.0.4.1)
this is impossible, since even if we remove the "Item Content" from the list of displayed attributes in the
region, Portal does display it anyway, just after every other Attribute.
    - Re: using an item type procedure
    - Metalink BUG # 3998251 "ENH: SHOULD BE ABLE TO HIDE "ITEM CONTENT" FOR TEXT ITEMS OR NEED A NEW ITEM TYP" and is being looked into internally whether it is feasible to include this in future releases.
    - Metalink Doc ID:      Note:290534.1          Subject:      Unable to Hide the "Item Content" Attribute for a Text Item
Mine scenario was the usual one:
    -oracle portal 9.4.0.1
-a custom item based on custom text (so as to have the RTE to edit HTML).
-A few attributes that help me define the class of an enclosing DIV tag that I wanted to put (a class and an ID)
-A plsql call associated to the custom item, with the flag "display inline" checked
-The dirty HTML generated by the built-in Oracle RTE (with BODY and HTML tags enclosing the actual HTML)
-The region that will contain the item is set so that just the "Function Call" is (or should be) displayed
I wanted to control entirely the display of the item text, while enclosing it in a custom DIV tag.
After a few tries, one of which involved forcing an HTML comment around the item content that Portal stubbornly
displayed, I've discovered this simple way. I don't know hom much this way is portable, but is done entirely with the APIs.
In the stored procedure that displays the item, that I encolose, i just do:
    1) retrieved the ITEM querying WWSBR_ALL_ITEMS;
    2) updated the ITEM via WWSBR_API.MODIFY_ITEM, passing as display_otpion the value WWSBR_API.FULL_SCREEN!!
Here I try a little explanation:
An item just created has FULLSCREEN=1 and INPLACE=0. This way the stored procedure is executed
AND the item content is displayed.
WIth the modify_item, the item gets FULLSCREEN=1 and INPLACE=2 !! This seems strange since the docs
tells that inplace can be 0 or 1. But this works.
I've played with the WWV_THINGS table directlry, and setting INPLACE to 0, 2 or 3 works as well, while
if it is set to 1, it behave the usual way.
The trick is to have FULLSCREEN to 1 while INPLACE is not set to 1.. and this was the easiest solution.
I'd like to receive a feedback from Oracle regarding this behaviour.

  • Validation Associated with Multiple Items?

I have six textbox items on my page. I have a function that validates whether all the six values belong to a specific criteria. If all of them pass the validation, I set a flag to 1. If any of the values does not pass the validation, I set the flag to 2. I need to display an error message inline with all the six fields if my flag is set to 2. But, as far as my understanding goes, in Apex, one validation can be associated with only 1 item. Is there any workaround?

I am not 100% sure, but I think this is not possible. Either you have a item level validation
for each item separately or you have a page level validation. Item validation displays the
error inline with field if you want so. Page level validation can be associated only with one
item but not with multiple items. So, you need six validations indeed.
